    Hey everyone!!
I just want to make a quick announcement:
    I GOT THE JOB!!
Thank you all so much for your support - I definitely needed that! *I literally hugged my computer screen since I couldn't give you guys a real hug*

And I have a small complaint...
My Free Ads are not working.
I've tried to go incognito (ooh I just love that word - "incognito"), I've tried clearing my history, opening up different internet browsers, etc. but nothing seems to work.
I mean, the free ad buttons pop up ALL THE TIME, but when I click on it, it just loads/buffers - FOREVER.
Sometimes it won't even play - and then the free ads tease me by playing ads and then not paying.
I'm like.... WHAT'S GOING ON?!? :weary:
If you've experienced or are experiencing this problem, is there anything else I should do?
    Thank you!!

    Had to edit to share:
I called my mom and asked her if she could purchase SimPoints for me... Because, well, I was desperate.
She went crazy on me - long story short; I won't be getting SimPoints from mom.
LOL!! She said "Goodness, you need to buy yourself some groceries instead of SimPoints!" I laughed at this comment and she hung up on me.
I'd post a picture of the meme she sent me but it's inappropriate.
*long sigh* I still love her even though she denied my happiness.

Congrats! Can you tell me what you did so I can improve my job hunting game?

As for the ads, the good news is that your hardware has nothing to do with it. I have a gaming desktop (#PCmasterRace) and I still have the same issues with the ads as you do.

Is your internet being top notch? Even if it is, wireless connections can get a bit rocky. If you can, try connecting your laptop to your modem with an Ethernet cable.

Congrats on the job - what's your new job? :)

I have run into that issue with ads... I have straight talk ones that show up and don't give me points... I found a trick with the black screen ones that wont play anything... when the play arrow comes up, I click once, wait a sec and click again and it's like it acts as though the ad has played and I get the points. Even then, there are still some where no ads show up, the double clicking ones don't work, or I get ads that I play but won't give me points. That's probably not much help, but just know you're not the only one experiencing issues! :/

Congrats @23kels89 !!!! I knew you would get the job! Yes your mom is right you need groceries more than Simpoints!! You can try clearing your browser? I'm not good with the technical stuff that just sounds like it helps :disappointed: . But you know we'll take care of you until you get it sorted out

Edit: I was just ordering groceries, I was so tempted to buy points instead but yes groceries first!!
2nd Edit: Thank you @tac612 for the lights!! I'm going to revamp the casino those will fit right in there with the Vegas stuff

Thanks! I did follow ups 2-3 days after submitting my resume. It's a bit too soon, I'm sure, but it's always good to have a "voice" to the application/resume (since everything is done online now - which I absolutely dislike). That way, when they come across my application/resume, they would be like "Oh! She just called!!" and they'd give some extra attention to your app./resume (or so I'd like to think  ). But it was tough. I put in about 50 applications and spent roughly about 5 hours on assessments and questionnaires and only got about 3 call-backs. Persistence is key, I believe.
And yup! Internet is at its highest. I'm bummed because now that I have nothing but time - I can't get ONE ad to play. Perhaps I'll try it on my phone?

I'll be working at Westin Hotel at the Town Center... I'm super excited
My friend actually told me she served Jessica Alba at the restaurant she works at inside the hotel.
I've had a few of those tricky free ads, just hit play twice and you've got yourself SimPoints! But now, they're nowhere to be found...

@23kels89 Well congrats again! That's exciting!

One more thing... and I apologize if you've already covered it, but did you check your ad blocker? I found that to be the cause for mine not working correctly...

We really need the LOL button back! You made me laugh at your edit.
It's like groceries in one hand, and SimPoints in the other - tough decision even though groceries is clearly the important investment.
And thank you so much, dear!
The support you receive from the Forums is absolutely astounding and heartwarming.

Ahh. I just visit a week later because I have to walk to get to places. I do visit where I applied every week until I am told to go away.
(I wish I could be persistent, but I am afraid that I am suffering from low self esteem. I had two instances where I wanted to commit suicide for being unemployed. It's not easy being me in this town.)

I hate doing it online bc I can't opt out of putting my SSN in before getting hired. Also, no matter how secure it is, it can and will be hacked. Anonymous hacked the FBI website and some guys hacked into iCloud and leaked celebrity nudes. Not to mention that I had an online application dropped because of holiday closure of the hiring company.

I have updated my top 5 since "Bayside Kitchen Set" is on sale this week. I also noticed "Full Bayside Set" is 210 sp for me. I know it will be cheaper if I get the other set first. "Sandy Shoals Sea Shanty" is also at a low price, 290 sp for me. So I might get all three sets for free if I am lucky.

@23kels89 - :star: KELS! :star: Congratulations on the new job! I'm so happy for you!

Regarding the ads, ZombieMew and Tac612 pretty much covered that topic. We have wireless *everything* in this house but we are normally plugged in with the Ethernet cable because we get a more stable internet connection that way so I can vouch for that.

Also, it seems that currently, at least for my area, we are getting more broken ads than ever before but we are getting LOTS of ads. I suppose maybe 30% are broken or play and don't pay out. The heaviest ad flow for my area (Eastern US) is early morning, about 4-9 AM, and to a lesser degree, the evening hours, about 7-9 PM. That doesn't mean there are no ads the rest of the day/night but they usually flow like a fireman's hose at those times.

Why would you need to buy SimPoints, silly girl? ;) Was it to get the World of Wonder Carousel while it was on the Daily Deal? It will come around again. For today, you have a new job and that's great news. Groceries are good... yes.

@Reachsims - Thank you!!! I'm so excited to start... I put in my two-week notice at my current job and my boss' wife gave me an evil look. But it's okay.
And my free ads are working again! Yay! though I can't open but three tabs at a time otherwise the flashplayer would stop working and I'd have to reopen the browser again.
But that's okay, too! Ads are working again!

Excellent @VioletHorse. What is your CYS now on the Full Bayside set or did you complete it?

@ZombieMew - I did not forget about the stuff I thought I would send yesterday. It's been a busy week here on the home front - we're in the middle of some remodeling projects with family due in a couple weeks. I have been working on our project.

More importantly, I wanted to briefly address your post but I needed a few minutes to formulate a response. For now, I will remind you that you are a unique person with your own set of talents and gifts. There is no one in the world like you and there never will be. If you sneak out early, there is no one who will ever replace you. If you need help, find a way to get it but don't quit. Hang in there!

Our self esteem can get very battered and bruised by rejection, especially when we are unemployed. That's not who you are though. Don't let anyone's rejection of you influence how you see yourself or define for yourself who you are. Own your own stuff. You are an artist. You have gifts to bring to the world and that is the person you should see in the mirror. We can't provide professional help here but we can be your friends. Friends provide hugs sometimes and here's one from me! (((((ZombieMew)))))

    @ZombieMew
Honey, your happiness comes first above all. And you are a precious person, please don't ever feel like unemployment is worth taking your own wonderful life. Times can definitely be hard and stressful - sometimes overbearing - but you'll always pull through. Just think of it as "another bump in your road"... All you have to do is brace yourself, you'll surely get past that bump.
Ask yourself - have you ever laughed in your lifetime?? If so, then you know that you have a life worth living.
After dropping out of college in 2010, I moved in with my mom. She moved to VA a few weeks afterwards so I ended up staying with her best friend [Rita]. During that time, I was searching for a job. Day after day I depended on others for transportation and resources. A few months later, I ended up moving in with another friend of my mother's [John]. Still no job and now a "freeloader". A few months down the road, I moved back in with my mother's friend [Rita]. She worked long hours and at the time was receiving housing benefits therefore she couldn't have anyone living with her. Therefore I moved in with a couple that [Rita] and my mother knew, [Steve and Maria]. I had no job, no income, and was being bounced from house to house. A year had passed and I had nothing to call my own. Everyday I had to depend on people and everyday I felt vulnerable to their demands because they were my resource for food, shelter, and necessities. My family nagged me about finding a job. What they did not know was that I was doing my absolute best. I became overwhelmed. I felt like they did not understand how stressed and disappointed I was at myself. I often got sick because of the stress and started to have anxiety. I felt like I was letting everyone down, including myself. I thought "Maybe I'll never find anything". But sure enough, I landed a job at Macy's.
Honey, I know your motivation could sometimes be lost in all the disappointment and anticipation. But as long as you remind yourself that everything IS POSSIBLE TO ACHIEVE, you'll surprise yourself.
And WHEN you land a great job, do me a favor will you? Go out and treat yourself to a nice big bowl of ice-cream and buy yourself some balloons - and on your mirror, write "I DID IT BECAUSE I KNEW I WOULD".
Anything [and EVERYTHING] is possible!

@LaineeCheri, that's so great! I wish my husband shared my obsession for the Sims, but alas he doesn't understand it at all. Lol :D
    You're welcome, @OriginalMara!

I just came upon this! I'm laughing really hard right now. Your husband and mine think alike. Sometimes my husband will tell me "I hope you don't forget that it's not real. Don't take it too serious."
As much as he doesn't find interest in The Sims, he sure does get a kick out of it when my Sims Woohoo or use the bathroom.
