Are you saying that we have the hours of play counted? Is there a way to repair the game, too? I tried out the Beta app ages ago and reported back those were my concerns. Mostly about the lack of ability to do a game repair.
@Nate_Whiplash1 the app runs on a pc. As far as I know it does NOT run on your phone.
Edit: it's a replacement for the origin game launcher. FYI: when you install it, it uninstalls origin; BUT if you find you don't like the new app you can reinstall origin & everything will be there, at least it was for me..
Never heard of it. Is it for the phone or the computer?
When you open up Origin, do you never get the ad, for lack of a better term, to try out the new Beta App? That's how I discovered it. I went ahead and gave it a try, but that was months ago now. I went back to the regular Origin, which I never uninstalled from my computer.
I had the beta, seemed to be just Origin with a (much needed) cosmetic update. Only thing is I'm not sure that I trust buying through it since it's still in its early stages
I got the app on my pc and it worked fine. I believe you can use either Origin or the app and can go back and forth. I use Origin as well. I got the app because my origin wasn't working, but now I have and can use both. The app is still in Beta.
In the EA app, goto 'my collection' in your installed game where Sims 4 is displayed on top right hand corner you should see three dots (...) where you click and thats where i goto repair my game. Done it twice already went perfectly fine without a hitch (oh btw your game shoudlnt be running or else you wont get the option)

Thank you. You should also remove your Mods folder, if you have mods/cc, too before you do a game repair. So go to my collection and click on the ellipsis dots and select repair. Got it! So do you find the app better than the original form?
Now, where do I find a way to disable yet another unwanted "friendly reminder" from EA.
This 🤔🤔🤔🤔 thing is annoying me.
The 'reminder' stopped showing up after I kept using the original platform. I may have had to ignored it a couple of times, however. And now, they are pushing it, so I'll have to see if it shows up again today when I power up my game. I agree, it's annoying.

No, I don't. But thank you for explaining it to me.

The app its at the best lacklustre. it doesn't have all games and its only advantage is that it has an in game setting (Hamburger Menu -> Help -> App Recovery) to clear the cache when it forgets where the games library is, unlike Origin. But the last time I started it decided I dont have any of my DLC installed, (luckily clearing the cache worked), so I havent used it since then.
If they are going to have a new app then it shouldn't have an inferiour UI while sharing the worst bugs of Origin.

The EA app is far better for me! Origin was so slow and I recently just couldn't launch TS4 at all because when the launcher opened, Origin would crash my PC. I tried everything to fix it and it just didn't. I'm SO glad theres the EA app now, and it works exactly the same, just better optimised and it doesn't crash my computer, lol.
When Origin wasn't showing my games I went into the app and tried to play offline as i didn't want to patch with the last patch due to the issues that came with it. The app was the only way I could play it appeared to me, but I couldn't find the way to play offline with the app. So I at first refused to use it. Then I found the play offline, but after I clicked that on the app, it said I needed to repair as one of my saves might be corrupted. So I started repairing. It repaired alright, but added the latest patch as well. I know this as after it repaired, there was no longer an update required button, but just the play button. So damage was done inadvertently on my part, and decided I would keep using the app, while Origin was still installed. I had to be sure Origin wasn't running for the app to work. No issues there. After a few days of playing on the app, my game started crashing every half hour or so. Frustrating. I tried everything even removing mods that yes were updated, but still did it. Then I decided to see if Origin was working again, and see if playing through Origin would fix the problem. I wasn't hopeful, but gave it a shot, and have had no crashing of my game since. So no app for me, I will stick with Origin.

This thing is still annoying me, I guess I'll just have to continue clicking no thanks until it goes away for good.
Yes the EA app is better !
