In terms of build-mode I'd like to see....

    Separate out certain items
    - select the bedframe then the bed linen
    - select the artwork then the frame (maybe even the mount)
    - select the countertop then the units and appliances
    - select the bookcase/cabinet then the clutter (with option for auto-fill clutter based on room type - bathroom, kitchen, study, etc)

    Scalable items
    - bookcases/cabinets you can stretch across and up
    - countertops you can drag along the wall to any length you wish (with undercounter units as separate items)
    - sofas that can be a single seater or dragged out to be a 2-seater, 3-seater, etc.
    - TV's you simply scale to whatever size you want
    - windows and mirrors you can scale

    Wall covering design
    - select a skirting board, picture rail and coving (each with colour options)
    - select colour, texture and patterns to apply to each portion of the wall covering
    - could choose to have a pattern below the picture rail then plain colour above the picture rail

    Window coverings
    - automatically size to window then choose whether curtains drop to bottom of window or to floor
    - option to layer window coverings - net/voile/blinds with curtains over the top
    - interaction for Sim to open/close (or smart home device to do it)

    Integrated built-in kitchens
    - dishwashers, washing machines and fridges hidden behind the kitchen cabinet doors

    Walls and rooms
    - walls that can be built to half-grid
    - ability to sink the building directly into the ground without the terrain following the bottom of the wall
    - ability to connect rooms at different levels (half-storey increases, for example)
    - mansard roofs and usable loft spaces
    - allow a door directly at the top/bottom of the stairs (like stairs that lead to a basement, for example)
    - useable space under staircases

That's all for now...I'll keep my fingers crossed at least some of these end up in the next iteration of The Sims! :)

    > I really wish on TS5 we could see a more dynamic growth you know... like 2 or 3 small stages on each life stage. I wanted to see a baby learning to walk and talk and actually see them growing, like height and all, if they eat a lot they'll get chubby, if not, they're gonna grow thin. If they're well educated they're gonna grow smart and quiet or polite, if not, they're gonna grow loud, messy or disrespectful. Watch them go to primary school...
    > Kids slowly growing into preteens, stop playing with toys and start worrying more about looks and teen stuff, first crush...

    >

EA and us, we have to understand what NEEDS to be in the base game.

    1- Better Traits
    2- Dynamic life Stages (preteen)
3- Likes and Dislikes, and zodiac signs
4- The TS4 CASim style (great name for a casino)
    5- Create a style tool
6- I would simply love an option to keep move objetcs always on
7- Build Mode is actually great as is now
8- Seasons and Pets are important but I understand the monetary reasons. But at least rain and thunderstorm.
9- Slower gametime speed as well as the standard speed

And what I mean by that is that I just want more gameplay time. I want longer days and longer minutes. It doesn't take over an hour to go to pee and wash hands. I hate playing with the autonomy on because my sims mostly do shh all the time. Or do nothing important. So sometimes I waste time with them standing there and doing nothing at all. And I'm always pausing the game to make sure everyone's doing something important. The Sims 3 had better autonomy, to be honest. I didn't play much Sims 2.

Thank you very much to whichever guru created the stair tool there is now in TS4. I remember back in TS3, trying to do an L-shaped stairs with the constrain floor elevation cheats and how it was a multi-step procedure that always messed up your walls. I hope you do the same with TS5. The next thing you need to tackle is Walk out Basements. It is more than a building fad, look on any floor-plan website and you will see tons of them. Plus it will be useful to those planning on building a hobbit hole.

I want them to reduce the loading time, open world, that I don't have to load when I go to the neighbor's house, that the sims marry could marry independently, a cemetery, better skins, hair and eyelashes and that the console community can have mods.

I would like to be able to create scenarios kind of like we are able to create clubs and share our scenarios with EA friends or have a scenario Gallery. I think many of us who enjoy playing challenges would have fun with this.

I’d love to see realistic starter homes, with only the necessities, no couches, beds or anything like that.

I also think that making money is way too easy in TS4, so I’d like to see the money from careers scaled down by at least 2x, and gardening is just WAY too easy. I love rags to riches style gameplay, but my sims get money too easily and it makes me get bored of my saves :(

Just like the Sims 4, I probably won’t get the game until merfolk are available.

In general, my feeling about merfolk in the Sims 4 is that they didn’t understand the full potential of the occult. If Sims 5 merfolk aren’t substantially more than the Sims 4 merfolk, it will make my decision pretty easy. I do need to get blown away by extremely well developed MerSims because my experience with Sims 4 MerSims was lacking that much.

I want occults and will probably wait and see how they handle them in the new game. If occults are lacking, I’ll probably stick with the Sims 4. If they go too far with trying to hide the presence of occults, that will be another negative.

At the end of the day, I really don’t want realism to take away from whimsy and fantasy.

Again, I need a return to the Sims 2 style aspiration meter and Wants and Fears. I play wants-based so I haven't been able to really do this in Sims 3 and 4.

The personality sliders, personality traits, and their high-level aspirations (fortune, family, creativity, romance, friendship, exploration/travel, knowledge) should drive the types of wants rolled. Completing wants should unlock more advanced wants.

Realizing fears should cause consequences and aspiration decay. Impact.

The way Sims 4 tried to implement Wants and Fears was a non-starter...and the team seems to realize that it's not working because they allow you to disable them.

I would like to use paint canvas objects to be use as advanced create-a-style paint mode (paint tool, pattern tool, spray tool, stencil tool, stamp tool, & etc ) feature to be able to do customization painting your own for your sims on canvas while sims are painting & display your canvas on the walls at home or display it to the Art Center in community lots to show off your artwork to other sims. Also I want paint mode feature maybe be adding in the base game (or in future sims 5 packs) to be customization in cas for:

Sims - hairstyles, clothes, accessories, hats, skin tones, makeup, & fingernail
    Pets
    Occult

I want to be able to import custom image & use Pattern Tool features to design patterns using custom images on objects in Buy Mode:

Paint Canvas - painting custom image
Photo - put custom image in pictures
Puzzle gameplay - import custom image in puzzle
Furniture - use import custom image & Pattern Tool design any patterns on furniture

Import custom image & Patterns Tool features in Build Mode:

Wallpaper - use custom image design any patterns on wallpaper
Floor - use custom image design any patterns on floor
Ceiling - use custom image design any patterns on ceiling

If we ever get hidden lots in the Sims 5, I want to be able to build them in different worlds freely instead unlocking it in cheats.

    - If they include the same townie generator they have in Sims 4, then I want a button to turn it off. Just because a lot has a 'teens like to gather here' trait doesn't mean I want the game to spawn them for me. I make my own. NPC workers are fine, though.

    - Seasons, rain, rainstorms and snow is a must.

    - The 4 Occults (Werewolf, Spellcaster, Fairy and Vampire all with improved abilities).

    - A number of faraway worlds (tropical paradise, desert, arctic, ocean, jungle).

    - Pre-Teens

    - Improved relationships. Faithful Sims, cheating Sims that acknowledge it, improved conversation tree.

    - Cellphone (or atleast the animations) be gone option. An option to delete Sims from your phone. Messenger birds (pets) for us nature-living Sims.

Probably alot more that I can't think of at the moment.

I'm tired of the Sims 4 "Disney" look with so many pastel greens and blues. In terms of the environment, this is the ideal:

Forgive me, I only got a bare glimpse of Sims 2 after Sims 3 was already out, and I wasn't too impressed. But Sims 3 had a good system of wishes and it was easy to "promise" them, i.e, keep them for later.
Fears in TS2 always confused me. They were random and it seemed odd to wake up with a different fear every day.

And with Personality, I much preferred the traits system from Sims 3. Sims 4 has so few traits, and they are not programmed well at all. So it's a poor example. But TS1 and TS2 had the same sliders for like five different aspects of a personality. Most of my Sims turned out very similar to each other under that rule. Human personality has way more than five factors to define us, pop-culture personality tests are not scientific btw.

We need slider traits for core personality AND traits.

The ability to wear any clothes on any body frame.

This is OK in some packs and not others, and I find it incredibly frustrating in the Sims 4. I was trying to make a male sim with a feminine frame today and learned that 90% of all masculine-tagged bottoms deform the crotch on a feminine frame. I thought we had gotten better about this, but it seems we only got better at making feminine-tagged clothing fit masculine frames, not the other way around.

Project Rene really needs to fix that from the get-go. There's no way we can go from this level of gender customization to a backward state, and really we need to go forwards. Making all items gender-neutral and fit any shape or size without massive deformation would be a huge thing to come out, and probably really appreciated by all players.

I would love the ability to create our own neighborhoods, something we've not had since The Sims 2.

I had a thought about the way that the Sims is layed out. It would be interesting if there was a way in CAS to have outfits designated to specific hobbies rather than just weather, formal, casual, etc. Like when someone is bowling, they automatically switch to a bowling fit, or when they're painting, they automatically switch to their smock. This may be a bit dynamic and complicated to make happen in the Sims 4, but maybe it's something to experiment with in Project Rene!

I would love for auto roofing to come back as toggled. I thought the feature was amazing and I understand that some people want to do the roofing, however, I don't think it needs to forced. As some have stated above, pets should have a thirst need (they drink puddles already). Also, more open lots in neighborhoods please!

I would like to add to my comment:
I would like to see some of the game play from like the sims 2 where we had Bustin' Out, The Urbz, and Castaways incorporated into the game-play. I am a console user (currently PS4) and always loved the ideas of the expansions including something like that. In one of The Sims (The Sims 3 I believe) the social interaction was also nice (when you talked to someone you loved, y'all would hold hands and what not). Please bring back some of the old hairstyles (make it more modern of course)
