@snowdove58 I think that is really adorable. I followed the link to the pics and checked out your other builds. They are all so cozy! I really enjoy them.
I've been following this thread almost since the beginning, but haven't had a chance to comment yet. So many wonderful builds!
@ciane: You have never made a build I haven't thought was truly beautiful. Many of them are styles I don't play, but I can't help admiring the clean lines and interesting textures that you use. I'm always amazed at what you can fit into a starter budget, too.
@creativemetaphor: I have yet to see a medieval build by you that I haven't loved. What a wonderful little *coughs* starter! Well, even if it's not starter priced, I can still pop a Sim into it with the free real estate cheat. It's such a perfect little cottage!
That little Spanish build reminds me of some of the homes in my city that are in some of the older areas. Most of those have been painted over in either white or bright colors, but the adobe color you use looks much nicer.
I love that little Victorian. That's a TINY Victorian! I don't know that I've ever seen one that small, so it's amazing!
That fourth one made me think of Robinson Crusoe, or something similar. Maybe that's what you had in mind? It's adorable for someone who wants to play as though they're on a small island.
That non-house is awesome! Makes me think of a trader's tent on a caravan trail.
@Kgaff: What a cute little studio apartment! Can just see that being used for a student in the University world.
The next three you have are cute, but I think my absolute favorite was the little Asian house. It's such a perfect little one Sim Asian home!
I love Chadwick! What a gorgeous Victorian! (I always cancel newspapers, too. They just seem too out of place in medieval worlds, and I just don't like having them in my non-medieval worlds.) Those roof pieces can be complicated to use at times; you worked them in really well, and that's surprising in such a small build.
@AlphaFen (aka The Overlord): I love that blue bakery. It's so pretty, with those different fences being used in place of walls! I think the blue overload would be too much in a home, but it's fine in a venue.
@suzses: I love that micro mocha color scheme! I can never seem to theme colors so well in a house, without it being too much. But this works very well!
And that Christmassy one, I NEED that one for my Winter Wonderland game. It's so pretty! (And you got a TREE in, as Jude said!)
@snowdove58: I love that house! (The first one you posted.) I always love it when people use the various roof pieces in the game.
Eco Shelter looks like it would fit in really well in Riverview. It's not a style I play, but I can still admire it. I particularly like that roof, and the solar panels on the top are a great touch.
That last one you did, I like the outside, but I really LOVE the colors on the inside. The underground garden is really cool. Gardening (and cooking) is one of my favorite things in the Sims, so I always want to have a garden somehow. And then green dragons ftw.
@Jude525: Your cake build made me chuckle. Not sure I'd use it unless I'm making a world where I want everything over-the-top, but it was cute.
@Fireheart2010: What a nice little cottage! Getting a garden in is pretty amazing.
That second house is cute, but I agree with Ciane - the terrain challenges! I've had the same thing happen when placing my own lots; an area will LOOK flat, and I'll plop down a lot, then when I actually go to build on it, I discover that it's on a slope. Sometimes that's OK, if you can work it on; other times, it's a pain. And it's not always portable into other worlds, since sometimes the front door becomes unroutable.
@MiaSkywalker - Thank you so, so much for all those lovely comments for everyone. It is always nice to know there are lurkers who might not be commenting.
Thanks! @MiaSkywalker I think the color scheme in the mocha micro worked for me because it was neutrals. My little Christmas house would be honored to be in your Winter Wonderland game.
@ciane That's a sweet little Victorian you pointed out. I happen to be playing with an empty Moonlight Falls right now (well, it's pretty full already - I've been obsessed ), and I think I see a future for it there. I've been doing it up "differently," but I do have some Victorians in what I consider my older downtown part of town, and I can see this tucked on a tiny lot behind one of them. Not sure about road access that way, though, maybe paired with a corner lot . . .
@MiaSkywalker It was fun going through a quick review of the builds with you! And, I absolutely agree, my cake house was a fun build, but has limited value in game, except for in a quirky neighborhood or to stand out intentionally for a quirky resident. Although, as I'm typing this, it occurs to me that it could work on an island lot. People who build on the islands just offshore here in Rhode Island can be a quirky bunch. Look up the Oaks Bluff gingerbread cottages on Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, if you have a moment.
Actually, I think everyone here would enjoy them. It's essentially a village of summer cottages that are painted ladies. Very much like @ciane and @creativemetaphor have shown us (and mine.) Many of them would qualify for this thread. Actually, I found a decent page of pictures here. It's slow with ads, but it has the best pictures I could find demonstrating how lovely they can be.
Sorry I've been quiet lately, but have been keeping up on the builds. It's always delightful to see how much variety and ingenuity goes into even these tiny little builds
Hi @MiaSkywalker !! Nice to see you hanging around Thanks for reminding me, I really need to get those play tested and put on the exchange
In the meantime, I do have what *almost* qualifies... I posted it in my build thread but want to share it here, too. It's a tiny little barn, and the barn and silo do technically fit on 10x10, but I gave it more land to hold the farm:
Inspired by aricarai 's latest speed build barn - I specifically stole her idea of using angled walls to make the upper level barn 'doors'.
@creativemetaphor do you have seasons? I love the barn, but I was wondering if the open doors, which are essentially a missing wall, cause the Sims to be effected by the hot and cold weather.
@jude525 I haven't played this one in winter yet, however it is not actually a missing wall. There is a wall and an arch there - the arch obviously is what creates the opening. But I *believe* that does make the interior function as an interior.
@ciane, your Playhouse Victorian is just so darn cute!
All of these amaze me as I am terrible at budgets and tiny spaces!
I never meant to imply that I made that, only that I love it. It's made by @godshelpio. It was entry in a contest I was judging, I think. I had to fav it!
I would really love to see you make a tiny home @romagi1! All your homes are gorgeous.
My mistake! I just saw the house and thought O it's so cute! I even rec'd it and didn't look who'd made it! LOL Or even when it had been built! I just saw cute!
I am not sure if this meets your requirement as a tiny house. It is for sims 3. It is on a 15x10 lot. The house itself is like 5x8. This is my first tiny house. I have not been on here long enough to post pictures or links but the house itself is on the exchange it's called Tiny- lux made by aprilangel66.
@mamabear1 - Yes, that most definitely fits the tiny theme requirements and is indeed a beautiful home made by @aprilangel66
@romagi1 - No worries. It's a lovely build that came to mind when Victorian was mentioned and I didn't make that clear. I should have put the name in when I posted the link and clearly stated it wasn't my own work. I'll edit that post now so others don't get the wrong impression too.
