Congrats everyone! This was my first time participating and I'm glad I did. It was actually a lot of fun and normally I'm not a prompt person. I loved seeing so many interpretations from a single idea. It just goes to show that while themes reoccur in literature over and over the stories are always unique because the people themselves are all different. It just makes me excited. I'm a book nerd.
Congratulations to the winners and all the participants! I love reading through all the short stories every month, and it was awesome to see so many new folks participating this month! Choosing just three on that ballot at the end of the month is always just excrutiating; they are all so great, and I just love that indulgent binge-read of seeing all the different ways the theme gets interpretted!
I am absolutely floored so many people liked my story! Really, I think I'm still in shock. That was totally unexpected! Not only that, I see my Cat Chronicles story got way more activity than usual over the weekend, and for a small site like mine, that just means the world to me. Thank you guys so much!
Glad you all seem happy with the participant banner. When I get it uploaded for download I'll let everyone know. Feel free to use it or not

@VIRTUALEE and @CeltyGirly I now have both of those entries added to the front page. Did I miss any others? Double checking, because I was a few pages behind this morning when I caught up on the thread.

This seriously made my day!!!! It's been a long one. Wow! I really can't believe it! Wasn't expecting that at all because there were soooo many good ones to choose from.
I love that we all spur each other on in our creativity and writing skills. This was probably the hardest story yet for me. But I do feel like I'm finding my way, if ever so slowly. lol
I haven't even started on this month's story yet. I think I may take a crack at the screenshot challenge, but I just haven't had time to think yet.
Oooh, and a 4-way tie? Wow! That shows how hard this month's truly was.
This week I did my reader's advisory thread, Weekly Reading Roundup on short stories! Pretty much all short stories that are registered with the Stories and Legacies Index were highlighted, if you want to take a look:
Hello everyone!
It's so quiet in here.
Sh! Everyone is writing stories. @Carewren123 I've put the banner you made in my signature if you don't mind.
Happy Simming everyone!

Ooh! Your banner looks great with the Short Story Participant in it!
Are we allowed to change the tense of the opening line? kind of writing in retrospect? As in something like "I knew I should have found it before..." Or do we have to stick with the exact wording?
I just wish we could insert an actually noun in place of "it". That's been the part tying me up so far. I'm sure I'll come up with something eventually...
Not sure how I'm going to warp it if I can't go 'past'.
I kinda think you can make it work... If you use the opening line as the character's thought, then he or she could be thinking at a time that fits that particular time and place.
I'm doing a big warp on mine... but the character is speaking to someone. And since often when we speak we can be a little fluid with our use of tense, it seems to be working ok. It's a tad awkward, but I don't mind that because it makes the reader's mind to a shift, which is sort of fun and disorienting for a second...
Hello everyone! *waves*
Have a great weekend!
Happy Simming and writing!

Thank you very much @mastressalita Now my crazy stories got a bit more readers. Also I now know about more interesting stories to read.

These three were my tie... I struggled to pick between these three... XD Also, I love the banner!!!!!
I think that the next vote should be organized something like this:
The the one with the most votes is the winner. But, that's just my thinking... Then, people don't have to pick which story goes into which place.
Yes, I'm still working on my stories. But I am restarting them (again). Links will come when they're up.
