@ciane good question haha. I assumed that buying from the store is fine since who knows when or where you will find seeds to plant. The rule just says you can't buy and eat anything from the store that you can grow yourself. I'm new to the random legacy too so your guess is as good as mine lol

@ciane Yay! The house works now. Ashley is very talented in street art. lol @ at that face paint... don't think I've seen that one before. Ty is a very handsome teen. Hurray for the second baby. Congrats to Tiberius on reaching the top of his career.
Tiberius looks snazzy in that work outfit. Happy birthday to Kat and Ashley. Katrina is very cute as a toddler. One more baby to go! Ty is quite the ladies man. Everybody seems very busy with their skill building. Yay! Dumpster diving returns!
Kudos on completing first Gen. Ha, funny to see Christopher dancin' it out in his PJs and stick around all night. Spring gnome! I think that's the only season gnome my Silver family hasn't gotten yet. I'm sure everyone will enjoy Kats waffles now. I've never seen that drum before but I'm assuming it comes with the toy maker? Cool! Congrats to Kat for reaching the top of her career. It's nice to see Ashley start a family of her own with Christopher. In the end the house additions look great. It will be fun to see Katrina's kleptomaniac trait kick in. Ty will make a great heir. Very simple rolls this time but looks fun. I look forward to reading Gen 2.

@xitneverendss It's nice to see more people join here. Of course you are free to use Kat as your avatar. She is very pretty in your game. I've followed you on tumblr. The gardening skill can be fun but exhausting for your poor sim in the beginning once the garden starts to really grow in size.
Xiomara, Rory and Reese all made it to their respective career branches. So we have a Criminal (Boss), Athlete (Bodybuilder), Tech Guru (Start Up Entrepreneur). I installed a mod that permits larger households and had Rory and Reese try for their fifth and last child: The Heir. Success, but it was twins...so the eldest one became the heir. Generation 7 is Toby Silver. Quinn became a teen. Una, Toby and Giana (Toby's twin sister) all became children.
Jaden is stuck on level 8 Secret Agent. Mainly because of the necessary romantic interactions and Jaden is a widower. Okay, granted he "murdered" his wife...but still...I doubt he will reach the top of his career since he is 98 days old.
Xio was taking forever to reach level 7 Mischief necessary for her promotion...
While I generally like the new CAS window...I hate that I can't edit anyone if there are more than 8 sims in the house.
@Simasaurus09 Yeah, it's a really neat idea. It's cool seeing how how different Kat's life is in everyone's game. And thanks! Though of course I can't take all the credit. She's a nicely made sim!
Yeah this living green thing has been difficult so far. Half the time I can't get her to garden because she's too hungry and since I rolled no strangers I can't even hire a gardener! Lol it's fun though, its forcing me to play in a way I usually wouldn't.

I leave them on free will a lot. And I will admit to totally abusing "Maxmotives", especially for the toddlers. The toddlers are evil. My sims always want to watch them even when the toddlers' needs are green. Also, I get sick of the sims ignoring important needs like eating and sleeping in favor of satisfying their fun. And the queue dropping...you know when you queue up several activities and they drop what they are doing right now to go do the new task. Like ignoring their dinner to go to bed...or going to bed instead of using the bathroom...
@xitneverendss - Well, you don't have to have the green house, just the planting soil from ITF or those planting pots. Build a little basement and put your plants down there.
I believe that it depends on if the plants are planted in the ground or in pots...if the plant is planted in the ground even if it is indoors, it will go dormant.

I'm missing screenshots here but Clark got arrested the previous day for tagging the casino building. The cop let him off with a warning... but he hasn't learned his lesson. While waiting for Daisy to complete an opportunity at the police station, he left his mark in the parking lot.
@kethrydrake Wow, big household. I personally avoid big households. nice update @ciane agreed and it's only fair but I gotta admit, it's fun seeing Kat in so many different games.
@Simasaurus09 - I love how he/you chose to tag the police station after an earlier encounter with the police over tagging! And yes, I'm always surprised when the game returns to high school graduation no matter how much later it is. I've had sims go to college and graduate. Then, they return home and graduate from high school. So, moving to a new town will not avoid the graduation. (I had Ty graduate before having him move!)
Yeah, I didn't even think about trying to plant directly in the basement floor. It's usually set to rock rather than soil. If you dig out a basement without foundation all the way around, you could have a dirt floor. Then you could add the missing foundation or wall. That's an interesting thought. Then it would really be like the green house.
Well, Elli freed a female genie named Simone. They married and had a son Yair, baby number 2 is on the way. (How two females manage to produce a male child, I don't know.) The family moved to Riverview. Lucian is one promotion away from maxing his career. Dania aged up and now has her own blog "Mickey is not the tin dog". Simone has begun to learn to paint. Her first attempt was horizontal green stripes worth only $34. Not that she can sell it, being unemployed.
RIVERVIEW - Lucian Silver, owner, editor and lead reporter of the Riverview Gazette, passed away today after delivering a tirade regarding the increasing ill-treatment of the elderly in nursing homes. He is survived by five children, six grandchildren, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Oh my word, @kethrydrake, you do have a whole bunch of sims all over. I'm curious if the little boy will be a genie or not! Nice update there.

Sorry, no genies. Baby number is a girl named Rowan. She's the heir. She's not a genie, but she does have the hidden trait "Pyromaniac". Probably got it from her firefighter ancestor.
I just noticed that even though Ty had accomplished the celebrity challenge so that he would make friends easily, that was erased when I moved him via the bin. So not happy with that! So after several days of play and two promotions, I'm going to return to the old save and move him the EA way. Scary, but... I'll see if he keeps his challenge achievements that way. And, maybe I'll move his girlfriend with him long enough to have a baby.
Technically, the children do not have to have a hidden trait, only the parent does for "Hidden Heritage". Dania, Elli's sister, has "Future Sim" and "Can Apprehend Burglar"; Felipe, Elli's dad, has "Can Apprehend Burglar"; and Quentin, Elli's grandfather, has "Can Apprehend Burglar". Nathaniel, Felipe's husband, has "Future Sim" and Simone, Elli's wife is a genie with "Immune to Fire".
Nope, returning to the pre-move save to move again the EA way still erases the charisma challenge achievement. I wonder if I could make him friends with a bunch of Uni Sims to gain that achievement back.
