This possible leaked tropical EP sounds interesting to me.
That doesn't rule out University coming late 2019 though.
This is what you get.. people hyping themselves up 'because University HAS TO BE the next EP!!!' and so it seems it isn't...
Not EA's fault.
And real life connectivity wise that makes sense. Tropical getaways scream summer to be. when I think if University starting I think of late summer/early fall (I know it also has starts in the winter and summer semesters, just thinking in what is traditional). Farming I also think of Spring so a late Spring next year release wouldn't surprise me.
So just for fun I looked up when University was released in TS2/3.
TS2: March 1, 2005
TS3: March 5, 2013
So... if we're going with routine, TS4 University should have been released 2 months ago.
Hm, following the 8 years gap, TS4 Uni should be announced March 1, 2021... (j/k)
So I was watching Iron Seagull's video on YouTube and he brought up something that was really valid, what if the teaser for EP 7 comes out on Wednesday and the trailer drops on Thursday? He originally said that it could come on Tuesday, but the release of Strangerville happened and so that was ruled out. However, he said that last year when Seasons was announced, the teaser dropped on a Wednesday and the trailer dropped on Thursday and Backyard/Toddler Stuff released on console on the Tuesday before the teaser dropped the next day for Seasons. Since Strangerville came out on console on Tuesday, could the teaser for EP 7 be coming on Wednesday? Just like last year? I hope so! But we'll have to wait and see.
More likely it will be Next Week though I could be wrong.
Last chance for a June release.
Other option : 1 Stuff Pack and EA Play announcement for an Expansion Pack in July or August.

Seasons was announced only 4 weeks before release. They could still announce it in the last week of May for it to be a June release.
If its tropical, I want them to include mermaids, and then I'll have a mermaid marry a vampire and just watch how uncomfortable it is in the tropic sunlight as he persists through the pain for his love :D
So I was on Iron Seagull's video and someone commented that they saw an expansion called "Tropical Paradise" on InstantGaming, and it's real! Here's the link:
If it's fake, I'm gonna be sad cause I love these features. 😂 I think it may be real though, university will probably come in October... After my plum witches gp. 🙄
Hate to break it to you, but the features list is just copied and pasted from another one of the discussions on the Sims Forums. They're a placeholder until the official announcement and then they'll change it to the official one. Same thing with the cover art.
Regarding Resorts or Hotels. Island Paradise in TS3 had Resorts even though it was just a home world so I suspect regardless if this is a home world or a destination world it will have hotels aka resorts.

I honestly preferred the full-fledged hotel system from TS1 and TS2. The resorts in IP were more on the management side. I just want my sims to relax and explore the place

I do wish they would clarify one way or another. If the entire thing is fake, warn players not to give anyone any preorder money. If it's legit, then clue players in as to when they can expect a teaser. I'm normally against the whole "announcement that we will soon make an announcement," but in this case, knowing when all this confusion will be cleared up would be really nice.

I agree, the hotels were a really neat feature, and if they do them similar to TS2, the system could be re-used for real dorms and TS2-styled apartments.

Also that.
I am 100% sure University will come some day though. But people should be more realistic. There were no indications about University to be next at all. This was purely based on wishful thinking from the community, so I see no reason for people to be upset about it not being the next one!
I'm going to continue thinking that University is the next one until... it is the next one. I like whatever packs get released, no reason for me to be upset.

No, they weren't. You simply had the option to manage them, also. I place resorts in every TS3 world and vacation to them using the traveler mod. I also keep a seedy one, and a luxurious one in my homeworld. One for the streetwalkers and the other for weddings, honeymoons and escorts.

My sim did try staying in one. It didn't really feel the same to me. But maybe it's because the resort was also in their home world.

I think it'd be incredibly worth looking into.
Oh yeah, that's true. In TS2, the hotel system was obviously recycled from the dorm system (since Uni was the first EP then). It would be killing two birds with one stone if we assume University is in the works

I was really waiting for Uni so as long as we get Uni this year, I will welcome the tropical pack although I would have wanted more of a vacay pack with a hotels and different climate locations such as beach and winter wonderland mountains ski lodge types.
I didn't like the S3 resorts because you had to use one of those rabbit hole towers for all the extras like the spa. I want to be able to build an island resort, or downtown brick hotel, or a cheap, seedy motel, or a seaside Inn or a nice, charming Bed & Breakfast tucked away somewhere romantic.
I want to create and build my ideas not be stuck using one of three or four types they have predetermined that I should use.
I hardly used the TS3 resorts, but I loved building hotels in TS2. Hm, maybe the TS3 IP pack was he last one. The buzz is easily gone when the final pack is released and everyone's attention is on the next series. Anyway, I hope they base a TS4 system on TS2 hotels.
EDIT: Noooo, I don't want a copy... I already have a sim running a home based pension, she will need a system that allows her to let units on a residential lot! Pls!

On the bright side, if this tropical pack is true, my Uni students will be good to go for a tropical spring break getaway.
