AND you're getting a pack of gum!
I'm so jealous....I should have waited to see what other retailers were going to offer as preorder bonuses before I did my preorder.
The Winters family Tree --- My Mods
True.
I'm a legacy/generations player myself. I feel that the interactions, multitasking, and emotions are a lot better for players like us.
I went form no to fence to yes to excited from watching non-EA gameplay videos. You can't put the improvements in a list. You have to see the gameplay. I think that anyone who isn't buying should watch a lot of LPs before making a final decision.
Which would impress me if legacy challenges appealed to me. They don't.
I do multi-generational, multi household legacies and I do them exactly the way I want to do them. I play by beginning a family, following that household for a set period of time, then, once the children get married and move out, going to a descendant's household, then another descendants, etc. etc. I've done five to six generations in this manner, playing in TS3, a game which has room for both my approach to legacies and Pinstar's. And I've had a wonderful time doing it.
What I see in TS4 is a narrowing of options. Not an enhancement. Not an improvement. Not a step forward.
I have been playing Sims since 2001. I am a hardcore Sims fan. Regardless if you believe it or not, a lot of legacy players are interested in playing The Sims 4.
I don't doubt that. Everybody plays differently. But I see no enhancements that would benefit legacy players and at least two that are detriments to legacy play.
Another factor is that I am really enjoying the Sims 3 right now. I am playing this challenge called the do it all challenge where I am trying to do all the jobs and lifetime wishes and in my case all the available EA worlds (I have four jobs and three LTW left) and I realised halfway through I'm having way too much fun with this game to move on just yet. So it's not as though I'm going to be deprived if I don't buy the Sims 4 straightaway.
The Road goes ever on and on And I must follow, if I can,
Until it joins some larger way,
Where many paths and errands meet.
> For the first time ever, I cancelled my pre-order. If reviews/forums confirm it's not a bug farm and when basic game play elements have been reintroduced, then I might buy TS4 at what I consider a fair price (i.e a lot less than it is now).
This pretty much nails it for me. I just cancelled my pre-order a moment ago after learning that so many features that were taken for granted in previous base games were cut. I was impressed with the CAS demo and really wanted to like this game but the lack of features is too much to overlook.
I bought TS1 and 2 on release day. I waited for a big sale to get TS3 with a lot of expansions. I think that's the way I'm going to go with TS4. At the very least, I'm going to wait for some reviews to come in. I don't want to pay a premium for a game with far fewer features than even previous base games. Besides, there's so much content in TS3 that I haven't really explored or taken advantage of and even when I'm done with that my gaming backlog alone is long enough to last me through at least TS7. :)
