Is there any other way than calling the CS? Any mail or something? I've spent my last money and bonus item was this what I've already got and (steampunk set) ... most of those items were for free :(

I got a few items that I've already purchased, but most of them I didn't have so... maybe that evens it out. The weirdest one I got was the savvy seller pack when it's exclusive only to Midnight Hollow. :/

Here we go, the crazy lady goes and gets 4 home decor boxes this time. (these boxes pay for themselves at least twice over XD) I only have 47 sp left now XD

Let's see what we've rolled this time shall we?

Rocket Johnny's Retro Ride - (a bonus item, I think the store is telling me to make a games room XD)
Le Cirque Nouveau- Mistress of Ceremonies - (another bonus, its rather interesting)
June 2011 Compilation - (epic winning, this was a bonus. That makes two monthly compilations scored.)
Gothteque Relics -(another bonus, it's going to be handy with decorating an alchemy lab)
Steampunk Kitchen- Pre-Steam Aquarium Tank -(last bonus item, that's going in the alchemy lab too)
Haiku of the Lotus - (plenty of personality, love it)
Mid-Century Modern Bedroom- Keen Klothes Keeper - (eh, it could be handy)
Weezul's Wicker Chair - (another one for DV)
Pretentious Loveseat - (can see that one in an apartment)
Playing with Trumps - (a nice accent)
Giraffe Measure - (kiddie stuff, handy)
Wide Romantique Wall Mirror - (uh thanks? Might be useful)
Shoppe Counter Island - (you are getting shoved in the alchemy consignment store)
Ultra Wishy Washer - (neat, too bad I didn't get its pal too XD)
    Fully Non-functional Vent - (eh...)
Logi-cub3d (nice but you got trumped by your futuristic self. Might use it in a sleek present day library still)
Vertical Light Emitting Device - (as the name says. I have a perfect use in mind for you XD)
Ancient Warriors - (oooh! It seems like I'm getting modern and medieval with all these XD)
Fin Table - (yeah, you know where I'm shoving you)
Once Upon a Time Cottage- Porridge Prep Wall Shelf - (my kitchens were looking bare)
Shoppe Counter - (lol, and there's the other one)
Overachieving Plate Rack - (to the kitchen!)
Bingo's 3-Set Collection - (is this game telling me to play more kids or what?)
The Pampered Pedro - (... its also telling me to play in DV more)

I am very happy to have scored one compilation for each 4 boxes I got. Still its not a world, but its pretty damm neat. All together I got at least twice the value of the actual boxes XD

I have admit I feel a little cheated with my goodie boxes. I got 7 goodie boxes, all but two had only 5 items and I got one set out of the deal, the Vegas Bedroom in which I have little to no use for. All but about 9 items looked like they belonged to the throw away section at yard sale.

    items I truly wanted:

    Auto-Noms Pet feeder
    Grapes of Nectary lamp
    Bramble Bodied Guitar

    items I like:

    Hit the Bookshelf
    Futureshock Loft- Clothing Containment System
    Leather Luxury Chair
    Futureshock Loft- Vertical Slumber Stations
    Musubi Hunter
    Faire Folk Bird House

    items I don't care for:
I don't really feel like listing this but it's mostly what I consider gifts-with-purchase, you know, awkward looking shelves or paintings. I noticed a lot it is the stuff they are always trying to get people to buy on the DD.

Despite the fact that I don't most of this stuff I'm tempting to go again, yeah I'm idiot, it would be worth it to get one of my dream sets or a venue. But, I'll probably just wind up with crapola again.

Not bought any store stuff for months and had a measley 116 s/pts in all that time, so was considering getting a box or two as a tester. But I am really turned off by what I have read on various social media sources.

I don't have ooodles of cash so I can't really take a punt as some have.

Also surprised that the boxes are so random. I would prefer them to 'themed'. For instance I would a 'kids stuff' box as don't feel I have enough kids items.

Oh well back to the recolour button. :)

After reading this I don't think that they are random at all, it seems to me that similar items are appearing everyone's list. The auto-moms, the alex, Cirque Nouveau items, Faire Folk Bird house, etc.

Yeah, I think I should resist the temptation to buy another one of these gimmicks.

Athena, the problem is that its a computer algorithm. They are only pseudo-random by nature as all programs need a starting seed. You can say that due to this, some items are weighted as more likely to be allocated.

I checked the lists first before choosing to get some since the algorithm seems to be a fairly friendly one. High chances of multiple items and bonus items. Its quite possible that the program looks at the dates of items when determining its allocations (via a team member having organized the lists by date of item being added to the store). The double up's were inevitable as its honestly got to be a pain to write an algorithm able to make sense of your purchase history XD

What items can I get in a Goodie Box?
Goodie Boxes have different content offerings at different times. With each box, you may receive one or more items from a particular store category, worth at least the amount of SimPoints you paid. You may also receive one or more bonus items from any category in The Sims 3 Store. This bonus could range from an individual item, to a set, or to a world. The best part of the bonus is that it’s not included in the purchase price. Users who own nearly everything from a certain category may not receive bonus content.

I think that you don't have to be afraid... but if you already own lots of items from the store you may be disappointed by the bonus items/set in the box

    Hope it helps you :)

And I get this... (with 5 CAS boxes and one )

    One CAS box
Mid-Century Modern Bedroom Collection (Bonus Item) (300sp)
    Boho Bell Blouse
    Urban Halter
    Big Band Swing Dress
Happily Ever After- Frolic Away Dress

    One Home Decor box
Mid-Century Modern Bathroom Collection (Bonus Item) (425sp)
    Chester's Wide Drawers
    Stash of Silver Cabinet
    Secrets of the Soul Bookcase
    The Black Horse's Song
Tabu Living Chair from Nothing Atoll

    3+1 CAS boxes
    Island Villa (Bonus Item) (350sp)
Le Cirque Esprit- Happiest Dunk Tank Hot Tub (Bonus Item) (300sp)
Micro Grotto Hot Tub (Bonus Item) (300sp)
Charmingly Simple Kitchen Collection (Bonus Item) (1150sp !)
    The Accelerator
    Can't Commit Outfit
    Tot-sized 3 piece
    Jackie Oh My Suit Vintage
    Nouveau Riche Robe Vintage
    Top Hat
    Perpetual Renewal Outfit
    Capricious
    Boho Teen Lacy Top
    R&R
    Scene Too Much
    Linen Leafs Shirt
    Cordial Chiffon Dress
    Rough Writer
    Seychelles Tank
    Just Like Dad
    The Undone Gentleman
    A Little Layered

Curiosity got the best of me so I bought one of each goodie box.

    CAS Box:
    Halter with Beads
    Bandana
    Women's Military-Style Jacket
    Debutante Ball Gown
    Musubi Hunter (Bonus Item)

    Home Decor Box:
Kingdom of Cambodia Bathroom- The Royal Treatment Towel Rack
    Fab Ficus
    Ultra Stylish Towel Rack
Kingdom of Cambodia Bathroom- The Royal Treatment Toilet
    Bamboo Shelf of Balance
India Inspired Living- Decorative Arga Jars
    Advantageous Washstand
    Reception Chair
Rim Rockin’ Basketball Hoop (Bonus Item)

I'd have never purchase these items so I'm a little disappointed, even the bonus items lack for me :(

Sorry you didn't get what you wanted, but I had to say, I laughed so hard when i read that about a yard sale. I could just picture a Sim in Midnight Hallow having a yard sale with junk he got from a goodie bag.

But who knows, maybe the sales after Thanksgiving will be good. :D

I went and tallied up all the regular prices of everything I got in the goodies boxes. I got the 7 pack and a 1 pack of home decor, so I spent 1800 on them. Per set here is the price breakdown, plus the big items on the higher value boxes.

    1 - 550
    2 - 500
    3 - 600
    4 - 1175 (Romanza Ceremony + Attire)
    5 - 500
    6 - 1800 (Viva Las Vegas Living)
    7 - 1600 (Everyday Hot Summer Days)
    8 - 2900 (February 2011 Compilation) <--- this is the box I bought solo

Bringing the sum total to 9625 for the 1800 I paid.

All in all, I did pretty well. I am fairly new to buying store stuff, I imagine that makes a big difference. I got a lot of items spread out, so I wasn't able to complete any more sets with these items, but I checked every single last set in the shop to find out! I was able to "complete" two things that I had in full from a different direction, things I had 100%, like the Jazz Wear from Feb 2011, I officially got the single version of, to ensure the store marked it as owned. The other was the Steampunk kitchen/Edwardian kitchen set that I had both kitchens of, but not the combo set, so I clicked that one too.

Now I have too much new stuff, with all the other new stuff I have gotten, that I'm worried I won't use any of it!!

This was the first time I tried the boxes, and... I guess I got what I expected. Random stuff that I might find useful or not. I bought two 3 box sets (with 1 bonus box) of the build/buy stuff. I'm kind of disappointed I didn't get any PC or any set for bonus items. But I did get three items from Cirque Celebration, and I already had the chocolate fountain, so I ended up getting the whole set for 140 something. So, it wasn't all bad, and I guess everyone can't hit the jack pot and get something really cool. Now I have 129 simpoints left, so I guess no more boxes for me. Just today I got 2040 and spent 1800 on the boxes, so that's enough.

Earlier I bought a single CAS box to try it out and wanted to avoid build/buy stuff, because a lot of what I don't own from that category (and I own most of it) is stuff I don't want. Well.. here's what I got (my plan didn't exactly work out that well lol :b):

    - Belle (dress, 75 sp I think. Single item. Wasn't at all interested in this as I have the teen version and I think it's too girly for adults)
    - Sleek Chic (male hair, 100 sp. Really wanted this, yay)
    - Powhatan outfit (Elder male outfit, 25 sp. Alright, but not exactly a wow item LOL)
    - Leather and Buckle Attack Teen (teen shoes, 25 sp. Couldn't care less)
    - Blouse with Round Collar (female shirt, 75 sp I think. Single item. Nothing special at all)

SO... that's only 300 sp and it's supposed to be worth more than what's in it right? Well, there was a bonus item (Msubi Hunter, which was exactly one of the items I wanted to avoid by not bying the build/buy boxes), I feel kinda cheated though since I thought the five items by themselves were supposed to be more than 300 sp worth? And I really thought you'd get bonus items with CAS items in them, this doesn't make sense at all to me.

Anyways lol, as you can see I was sorely disappointed. Yet reading about all the great bonus items people got I thought I'd try my luck with the 3 (+1) CAS box-set (Yep. That was the worst idea I've gotten in a looooooooooong time! :P). Here's what I got:

    - Gown-In-Law (female outfit/dress, 75 sp)
    - Show Stopping Style - Flirty Hair Bow (female hair, 100 sp)
    - Show Stopping Style - Sheer Shoulders Top (female top, 50 or 75 sp I think.)
    - Show Stopping Style - Backdraft Jacket (female top, 50 or 75 sp I think.)
    - Show Stopping Style - Studs and Chains Flared Top (female top, 50 or 75 sp I think)
    - Blazer and Turtleneck Combo (Male top, 75 sp I think. Single item.)
    - Carol's Shorts (female bottoms, 75 sp)
    - Countessa (female dress, 75 sp)
    - Much into Style (kid female bottoms, 75 sp)
    - Viv Teen (teen male top, 75 sp)
    - Pilgrim's Progress (kid male outfit, 75 sp)
    - Louie Little Louie (male hair, 100 sp I think)
    - Tough as Nails Teen (Teen female bottoms, 75 sp)
    - The Octane Suit (female outfit, 75 sp. Single item)
    - Jacket/Vest/Shirt Combo (male top, 75 sp. single item)
    - Swept Softly Hair (female hair, 100 sp)

    BONUS ITEMS:
    - Piece of Paradise Fan Palms (plant, 50 sp?)
    - Micro Grotto Hot Tub (hot tub, ? sp)
    - Show Stopping Style - 38 Pieces of Flair Top (male top, 50 or 75 I think)
    - Warbling Wind Chimes (PC, 250 sp)
    - Jet Set (Clothing set, ? sp)
    - Gothique Sleeping Room (Build/Buy set, ? sp)

Basically the only sets I got were small ones that I actually didn't want and a lot of the clothes I didn't want either or am just probably never gonna use. So it was most definitely not worth it to me, I feel like I wasted my money -.- Which I did lol. And the only compilation I could finish because of this was the one with the Tiki Outdoor and the Everyday Casual set in it and I already owned all the items I wanted from them except from three pieces. Oh goody :P

Yeah, I just love how everyone just takes me so dang seriously.

I got algorithm in my head that makes call them as I see 'em. And, trust me EA is going to make sure that we get what they want us to get. There's a reason that that the stuff we are getting is from the same 5 sets that have items that show up on the daily deal almost everyday.

And, I'm sorry if I seemed angry when I really am not. I think that the best writing is straight to the point, and it seems that if you don't sugar coat stuff people think your mad.

    From The FAQ:

    [Emphasis mine]

So don't feel too bad, though you didn't get what you liked, at least you weren't cheated, you got something equal, though I suppose it's not much comfort.

As for the bonus, again, EA doesn't make it really clear but it is in there. As you can see it says any category.

So as I said, at least take comfort from the fact, you weren't cheated, you just didn't win big
