Here are my twin toddlers Luna and Selene Banerjee, having fun with flashcards! Their parents are Mayank and Chandra, my first werewolf couple. Luna is in white and Selene in yellow. Luna is the Roman goddess of the moon and Selene is the Greek equivalent. Luna inherited the "Greater Wolf Blood" trait and Selene only the "Dormant Wolf" one, so she's not technically a werewolf. She'll have to swim in Lake Lunvik as a teen in order to activate her inner wolf. One of them has the Destructive quirk, although I've forgotten who, as I haven't played this save for a while.

I've had a couple of toddlers get the "Loves books" quirk after playing in the bookcase. But although the action seemed to come first, it could be they decided to do that because of the quirk.
If you have Better Exceptions by TwistedMexi, you can trigger an example exception whilst your toddler is selected. Under "Sim Info" in the exception report (which pops up on your internet browser), there's a traits section which mentions the quirks they have, even if they haven't popped up yet. So it does seem like the quirks are pre-chosen, before you actively discover them in-game.
Don't know if anyone already posted this or not but I forgot to share anyhow, not sure what I was expecting for the family kiss with a toddler but it is precious. I used this elsewhere but I just love it.

My new super sim just had his birthday and aged up to top notch toddler. I was very proud of my birthday party set up. I know it's silly, but I normally just blow out candles and officially play through the party interactions. This time I made it look cute, but only got bronze for the party lol.
@mightysprite lol, I have a toddler who just refuses to eat anything. Everything ends up in a pile on the floor like that and he's so hungry! @illusie was that a play date you had or a regular birthday party? have they made it so we can invite any toddlers over?
@elanorbreton, it was a regular birthday party. Before the party I had the mother travel to a couple of households who had a toddler or infant. She befriended one of the parents and asked to be introduced to the toddlers and infants. That way she could invite them for the party.
