@BlueSeaWaves & @DaniRose2143 Step away from the project just for a bit and then look at it again, with fresh eyes. I used to decorate cakes (had my own side-business years ago). I would spend hours on the final decorations which included the base icing, etc. I would end up hating it by the end. My hubby would tell me it was beautiful, but I didn't believe him at all. But, if I stepped out of the room, momentarily and then came back suddenly it looked far better to me. I think it's the whole staring at it for hours that can deceive us. I like both of your Wips. @BlueSeaWaves, I actually like the layout of your house. I think it works. @DaniRose2143 yours is gorgeous, too. Step away for just a moment and give them another looksie.

I know what you mean about the open ceiling and the game deleting the sections, it’s a pet peeve. I just gave up on those completely.

Afterwards, the princess went outside Hillview Hideaway and got out his sleeping bag. He fell asleep, entering the dream world:
Princess Roddy went into his palace and played hide and seek with the young guests that were visiting.
A bit later, morning broke and the princess woke up. He changed into one of his masculine hot weather outfits. Then Princess Roddy did some rock digging:

'There there, my adorable little cutie pie. To be honest, I've been missing Eachann and Tammy too, as well as Sophia and Hamish.' Shelly said, warmly. 'If you want to go back home, that's fine with us.' she added:
'Ok, auntie Shelly.' Princess Roddy said, feeling happier:
'There's that smile we know and love!' Shelly said, looking fondly at her adorable nephew:
She then smiled sweetly, batted her eyelashes and made a very great, big kissy face at the princess, which made him giggle:

Shine chuckled. Later, the group packed their suitcases. Then Princess Roddy said goodbye to the Selvadorada Marketplace Team. After double checking they had everything, Shine called a rickshaw, which took the trio and their luggage to Selvadorada Airport. Once they arrived, Shine, Princess Roddy and Shelly showed their passports. The staff escorted them to where Royal One was.
Sir George Cahill was waiting. He smiled and bowed. Then he loaded the group's luggage onto the royal aircraft and helped them board. Once everyone was seated, Sir George did the usual checks. Another clear day for a flight!
Soon, Royal One was in the air, and was headed to Del Sol Valley Airport. It was a long flight, but a smooth one. So smooth, that Princess Roddy fell asleep! Shine and Shelly smiled and snuggled up to the princess.
Back at Dianthus Hall!
Royal One touched down at Del Sol Valley Airport. After getting the luggage out of the hold, Sir George helped Princess Roddy, Shine and Shelly to disembark the royal aircraft. 'Thank you for a smooth ride, Sir George!' Princess Roddy said, curtseying. 'You are most welcome, Your Royal Majesty.' Sir George, replied, bowing.
Once the group exited Del Sol Valley. Shine wondered what to do. 'How about we travel home via limousine, sweetie?' She asked. 'Mummy, ye ken I dinnae like travellin' via limousine. Way too over the top for me liking.' the princess replied, slightly narked. 'Okay, okay, I was only joking, Roddy! Taxi it is!' Shine said, chuckling.
The taxi arrived and took Princess Roddy, Shine and Shelly back home to Dianthus Hall, Brindleton Bay. When they arrived, Shine gave Benjamin a very, great, big, loving smooch:
Sophia and Hamish were already waiting in the room where the oversized cupcake machine was. (Sorry, I'm still annoyed that while you can bake cupcakes via the oven now, you can't make the other things that require the cupcake machine in the oven. Husss. Where was I? Oh yeah.) As soon as Princess Roddy entered the room, Sophia ran over and lovingly glomped her big brother:
'Hello, little sister.' Princess Roddy said, chuckling. Sophia giggled and gave him a loving smooch on his cheek:
The princess then gave Hamish a loving hug:
And a loving smooch on his nose:
After catching up with his siblings, Princess Roddy went outside and gave Tammy a loving hug:
Then he went into his bedroom and gave Eachann some attention:
Meanwhile, Shelly gave her niece and youngest nephew a great, big, loving hug and a very great, big, loving smooch on their cheeks:

@GalacticGal@BlueSeaWaves Right now the problem is that frieze issue which I think is just one of those build mode bugs that there's no way around. I've tried everything I can think of to trick the game into thinking there isn't a room on the other side of that wall. If I'm dead set on having the ceiling over the staircase open all the way to the top I'm going to have to move the stairs further into the lower floor, but then they intrude into the hall for the awards ceremony. If I leave the stairs where they are then the only way is to remove the frieze but I much prefer the looks of the building with it than without. It looks odd without it to help break up the lines. So I have to see if there's a way to make the stairs work if I move them in away from the exterior wall, otherwise I just move on without the open ceiling.
I did run into another oddity. I wanted to do a little playtest so I made a copy and went into Tartosan Sun to have the friend circle test it out. I started at the Huntley's love nest and I before I went to the world screen I thought I'd spend a few minutes with my favorite soulmates. Londyn headed upstairs to the balcony where her yoga mat is and I tagged along. When I got up there neither one of the lights on the balcony was working. No problemo, I've had that happens hundreds of times. Just go into build mode and 'nudge' it or replace it. Neither option worked. I moved the light into the upstairs hallway and it lit right up. I moved it back outside and it immediately stopped working. Oh no, here we go again with light issues. I looked up and realized I couldn't see any lights at the Rossi's place on the hill either. I switched to their household and the same thing, no working lights outside. I checked with Summer and Darian and it was the same thing. The ristorante across the canal from them? No working lights outside. I checked the nightclub and nothing there either. I wondered if it was a Tartosa thing or worldwide. Every lot I checked was dark outside. I exited and tried the next save point back and everything was normal. It was only 3 sim hours earlier so I let the game run until I passed that same point and nothing happened. I saved and exited and when I came back in everything was still working normal. I haven't the faintest idea why that one save point ended up with bugged lights. I tested with and without mods and the outside lights refused to work in that one save point. Luckily nothing of note happened in those 3 sim hours in between the two save points, just another in a growing list of 'Wacky Moments in Simming'.😁

I moved Paisley (the younger daughter of Geoffrey and my sim Zoey) over from a previous save to be Gavin’s new roommate. They didn’t stay just roommates for long as they’re both very creative people and took a shine to each other. After a whirlwind courtship they’re already married and living quite happily while he works on his novels and she works on her art and crafting. Gavin is advancing well in the writer career while Paisley just works from home painting and crafting and is quite content. She occasionally plays the piano at the blue velvet for tips too.
Mitchell has visited Gavin regularly for some bro time and he’s also been hanging out with J Huntington at the bar a few times.
Family #1 - The Pancakes Family
Bob got promoted to head caterer while son Evan became a teen and got the nerd brain aspiration. Cassandra continued to do lots of writing and built a lovely relationship with her stepson which has been great to see 🤩
Cassandra wanted to try for a baby so I had them do that and it was successful. Cassandra became friends with Zoe Patel and spent time with her and her toddler son Kane during her pregnancy. She also became friendly with librarian Jonathan and managed to set him up on a date with another townie.
Bob attempted to cook a lovely meal for his friend Kanye Jawara but for some reason Kanye started being mean to him and they quickly became two men who disliked each other. Later that night Bob was over the moon when his daughter Sofia Pancakes was born and spent the rest of the evening interacting with her.
Family #3 - The Kalanis
Zoe mainly spent time taking care of her son Kane who has just aged up into toddler. She also developed a friendship with Cassandra Goth so I sense a mom buddies relationship here.
Mitchell spent time building his comedy skill, working out at the gym and hanging out with friends. He is attentive towards Kane but isn’t as parental as Zoe and seems to be quite happy to leave her doing most of it. Their relationship is still good though. Plenty of cooking together and woohoos
@DaniRose2143 your lighting problem makes me wonder if we haven't, both, just stumbled upon another bug? Inside lighting in the PBP Studios Lounge where I did a total reconfiguring of the interior, had lighting problems in the Awards hall. That bit about the And Then the Lights Went Out, was a concerning problem. I ended. First it was a No Host thing. I removed the latest bit of cc and voila the Host was present, but I noticed those standing on stage accepting their awards were in shadow. I had to fuss around with a bit and ended up having to replay the ceremony. Hence a double set of images for that. Oi! Will it never end? LOL
I am almost done with the whole castle. Just Cara's dressing and glam room, and the right front entrance hall, and then I have to go back and put all the bells and whistles I forget in the rooms.
I'm not a big debug person, but I am discovering a lot of cool items with better build buy installed. Im not big on clutter though, because in real life, I find it undesirable.
One of these images I posted this earlier but was not sure if it was appropriate because what she is wearing but I forgot there is a underwear kit- So I think it's fair. This sims I downloaded from the gallery. I only play with her on my build save, when I have no mod. Apparently, the update took her pants at some point, this was a photo of the staircase before rendered in materials:

You see Skelita was complaining I had to small round balconies on the corners but the game would not let me put material underneath them for ceiling below and it looked horrid. I had to delete them but I liked it because it was my attempt at expressing a round stair, or at least circulate circulation pattern. I decided to keep the ceiling tiles in stone because it looks vaulted, I don't like tiles ceiling, and marble is not a practical choice due to it's weight.
The interior designer went to sleep in the house testing it, and apparently she sleeps in her underwear. When ever I go into first person to see how the ceilings look, and then I hit escape. I see her looking up at the ceiling. This was the 2nd time I caught it last night.
Her in these screenshots starts to look like a Victoria Secret Photo shoot.
This a small study in the tower, it's been updated to a much more rad wallpaper.
I will post more photos but its well over 15 room - I don't really know if they except us to show all the rooms for the challenge.
And I went there with the Get Famous and Vampire Stuff, because how often can you get the opportunity to use these?
I also leaned heavy on Modern Lux and Decor to the max when things felt boring or repetitive. Really great kits, I highly recommend.
@GalacticGal It's possible we're dealing with a new lighting bug. The problem I had was only in that one save point. The previous save points in that same save were fine. That save point was the last one I created before I started putting Origin in offline mode so it may have had something to do with the craziness I was dealing with at the time. I was lucky to be able to roll back and not lose any major gameplay moments or have to replay a bunch of sim days.
I know when the EA App first launched for PC's I was happy to still be 'stuck' with Origin. It was rock solid and dependable, but since about this time last year it's been slowly going downhill and the last couple of patches and updates has left it very unstable and prone to doing unpredictable things. I never thought I'd say this, but I hope they get the EA App out to us Apple users soon, before Origin goes belly up.
@BeckyI7Fan That's a very pretty house! @DaniRose2143 I was going to say the Power Conservation NAP? That would affect all lights in a build, for I think 12 hours 9am-9pm on Thursdays or something like that. But that wouldn't immediately change upon save and restart, unless you happened to restart right at 9pm or whenever the end time is.
I like Discover University in some ways, but it’s also quite a grind. I tend to choose the “four classes a term” system to get it over with, but it does mean a lot of homework and term papers etc. So there’s not much time for anything else. Plus, since royals don’t really have “proper” jobs, it’s not like they’re going to get a job afterwards with the special career boost. Or maybe Nicola *could* get a job just for a bit, until she’s married maybe? I know that sounds really old-fashioned! But that’s how it is with royal families.
Ugh I just want Oliver and Nicola to be done with university! It’s their final term so I just have to be patient. I’m going to have Nicola move back in with her parents. Her older sister Michelle lives there with her wife Jessica, and I’m planning on having them have a science baby together. So that’ll be fun.
It has been raining cats and dogs but finally the sun came up - and the caught the rainbow running over Tartosa. Of course Eric goes on the stone castle terrace with no shoes on. [I think the update stole his shoes].

I moved Paisley (the younger daughter of Geoffrey and my sim Zoey) over from a previous save to be Gavin’s new roommate. They didn’t stay just roommates for long as they’re both very creative people and took a shine to each other. After a whirlwind courtship they’re already married and living quite happily while he works on his novels and she works on her art and crafting. Gavin is advancing well in the writer career while Paisley just works from home painting and crafting and is quite content. She occasionally plays the piano at the blue velvet for tips too.
Mitchell has visited Gavin regularly for some bro time and he’s also been hanging out with J Huntington at the bar a few times.
Family #1 - The Pancakes Family
Bob got promoted to head caterer while son Evan became a teen and got the nerd brain aspiration. Cassandra continued to do lots of writing and built a lovely relationship with her stepson which has been great to see 🤩
Cassandra wanted to try for a baby so I had them do that and it was successful. Cassandra became friends with Zoe Patel and spent time with her and her toddler son Kane during her pregnancy. She also became friendly with librarian Jonathan and managed to set him up on a date with another townie.
Bob attempted to cook a lovely meal for his friend Kanye Jawara but for some reason Kanye started being mean to him and they quickly became two men who disliked each other. Later that night Bob was over the moon when his daughter Sofia Pancakes was born and spent the rest of the evening interacting with her.
Family #3 - The Kalanis
Zoe mainly spent time taking care of her son Kane who has just aged up into toddler. She also developed a friendship with Cassandra Goth so I sense a mom buddies relationship here.
Mitchell spent time building his comedy skill, working out at the gym and hanging out with friends. He is attentive towards Kane but isn’t as parental as Zoe and seems to be quite happy to leave her doing most of it. Their relationship is still good though. Plenty of cooking together and woohoos

I am almost done with the whole castle. Just Cara's dressing and glam room, and the right front entrance hall, and then I have to go back and put all the bells and whistles I forget in the rooms.
I'm not a big debug person, but I am discovering a lot of cool items with better build buy installed. Im not big on clutter though, because in real life, I find it undesirable.
One of these images I posted this earlier but was not sure if it was appropriate because what she is wearing but I forgot there is a underwear kit- So I think it's fair. This sims I downloaded from the gallery. I only play with her on my build save, when I have no mod. Apparently, the update took her pants at some point, this was a photo of the staircase before rendered in materials:
You see Skelita was complaining I had to small round balconies on the corners but the game would not let me put material underneath them for ceiling below and it looked horrid. I had to delete them but I liked it because it was my attempt at expressing a round stair, or at least circulate circulation pattern. I decided to keep the ceiling tiles in stone because it looks vaulted, I don't like tiles ceiling, and marble is not a practical choice due to it's weight.
The interior designer went to sleep in the house testing it, and apparently she sleeps in her underwear. When ever I go into first person to see how the ceilings look, and then I hit escape. I see her looking up at the ceiling. This was the 2nd time I caught it last night.
Her in these screenshots starts to look like a Victoria Secret Photo shoot.

I also leaned heavy on Modern Lux and Decor to the max when things felt boring or repetitive. Really great kits, I highly recommend.
I know when the EA App first launched for PC's I was happy to still be 'stuck' with Origin. It was rock solid and dependable, but since about this time last year it's been slowly going downhill and the last couple of patches and updates has left it very unstable and prone to doing unpredictable things. I never thought I'd say this, but I hope they get the EA App out to us Apple users soon, before Origin goes belly up.

I decided to ditch the blue and go with purple. It's one of my favorite shades and it's the color of royalty which is fitting for the circumstances.
@DaniRose2143 I was going to say the Power Conservation NAP? That would affect all lights in a build, for I think 12 hours 9am-9pm on Thursdays or something like that. But that wouldn't immediately change upon save and restart, unless you happened to restart right at 9pm or whenever the end time is.
Ugh I just want Oliver and Nicola to be done with university! It’s their final term so I just have to be patient. I’m going to have Nicola move back in with her parents. Her older sister Michelle lives there with her wife Jessica, and I’m planning on having them have a science baby together. So that’ll be fun.
Lolita is almost all unpacked. She has to make a few more changes, and then she's calling someone in for landscaping.
It has been raining cats and dogs but finally the sun came up - and the caught the rainbow running over Tartosa. Of course Eric goes on the stone castle terrace with no shoes on. [I think the update stole his shoes].
I hear you about the cosmetic horns. Would have been nice to have actual unicorns.
