I have to laugh at this, as I am playing my most current backup at this time. My laptop died, and happily, I had backed up my game just recently. My Sims were into the first week of spring (I play fourteen-day seasons) and this backup took me to the first week of Winter, not too bad, though.
As per Crinrict's warning, I may take a short break and recreate my Ancestral game save.
This particular EP patch won't be nearly as huge as the Infants update was, lol. So she is wrong for this particular patch. There are no new actual features coming to the base game besides the Choose Sink thing and the recycled Remove Shoes when entering house feature from Snowy EP.
@ULIBABA66 this was crinrict's tweet for the Horse Ranch expansion pack. We don't actually know all the base game updates that might come with the patch but it can't hurt to always back up your saves before updates. 🙂
Funny story: Unlike with patches, I usually don’t wait for bug reports before installing SDX drops. But when the functional backpack SDX drop came out, I briefly hesitated before installing it. This wasn’t just a new hair or dining table or whatever. It was functional. Just for a second I considered whether the SDX could possibly contain a bug. I was actually thinking back to when the storage box from EL was bugged and how annoying that was. But then I thought, nah, that’s silly! It’s literally ONE thing, what could go wrong? So I installed it.
And then for some reason, my sims wouldn’t put books away anymore… sigh
So, my rule for myself now is to always wait for the bug reports, no matter how insignificant I think the update is. 😅

Oops sorry, that may explain her tweet then. But maybe it has some game changing mechanics? I don't know…unlikely though as they would have hyped such a big patch for the game as well then. Next big update must be cars or online dating in 2024, so while I already paid for For Rent EP, I will focus on playing it once it drops and then may take a break until the next big thing arrives. That is how I often play TS4, I take weeks of breaks and then I come back when I need to play or feel desire to play it. I love playing with farms with animals and my Sims are ranchers making nectar to stock it in their huge nectar cellars (basement). I also make them ecological and self-sustaining most of the time. Would love to have eco cars or something in-game though and would love online dating for Sims as I often have difficulties to decide which Sim my Sim should date with
Thanks EA. I for one, take Crin's warnings seriously, regardless of update size. Michaelmas term is ending, too, so no burying self in schoolwork until the dust settles. Time to put the lessons to use in a RL project.

Noted. I will restart game tonight before it hits to include some new CC. Quoting this post because I like that "Michaelmas term" is a thing. Much more interesting than "fall semester".
Simmatically has tweeted a map showing release times for the patch for the whole world. (I’m not on Twitter/X but I can see the map just by googling ‘Simmatically’ and a few of their latest tweets come up, including the map.)
Here’s what to expect in today’s Sims 4 Base Game Update!

Switch control to household really the only one I’m excited for. The amount of time I’ve enter world view and forget why I even entered it, is tooooo high. Then I exit and remember and go back 😭

Don't forget to go offline in the EA App if you're not ready to update your game.
