Updates Wednesdays
Evelyn "Evie" Kilbride has always been the quiet friend, a shy girl who never had much to say, happy to wait in the wings as her best friend Kelly, the loud, confident one, takes the spotlight or their new friend, the beautiful Claire gets all of the attention. In the summer of 2010, the three friends take a holiday by the beach on the sunny south east coast of Ireland. Lately, things between Evie and Kelly haven’t been feeling the same way that they used to, and when she meets Jude, a wild boy with startlingly good looks and an American accent, everything starts to unravel. She may not realise it now, but the things that happen this summer will leave a permanent mark on her life. Evie will look back on this summer and remember it forever.
Lucky Girl is a story about love and friendship, and the decisions we make in our youth, the people we meet that can change the course of our lives forever, and the vividness and potency of a time when life is full of longing and excitement, summers are endless and filled with intensity.

I have a handful of stories to suggest, but at the moment a few of them are on a break. The only ones I believe that are active at the moment are @HermioneSims 's Miller Legacy and @MonaSolstraale 's Tusnelda and Trix.
Looking forward to checking these out!
Evie and her friends meet a cute boy at the surf shack. He's nice, funny and so easy to talk to, so why does Evie feel so nervous around him?

I like how you really use the beach as your setting. The worlds aren't set dressing in your story, they're part of it.
Where may we read chapter 1? The link doesn't seem to be working.
Edit: Oh, and if you are looking for more story recommendations to read, here are some of my current favorites

Things are going so well between Evie and Liam. I'd be a shame if somebody tried to ruin it for them...
Read it on my blog here! https://luckygirlstory.wordpress.com/2022/09/01/chapter-five/
Evie goes to the exhibition in Dublin with Jen and Jude and has the best day ever, but she's taken by surprise by the feelings she's having for Jude...

It's actually a really nice surprise to have the rich, made-up girl who always looks exactly as she wants be the genuinely kind sort as well. The making the most of the summer feeling here actually feels more sad for me as a reader than anything? Probably because they're teenagers, and it's only a few years before adulthood swallows all their fun time so it feels like this might be one of the last times they can really have time to have these heart to hearts by the beach. I really love the descriptions of this, and how much she takes in all of her scenery but without it being over-descriptive.
Yes! I get a little tired of pretty girls being called out for being shallow in lit. It's for sure the case often in real life, but not always! Some of my most beautiful friends are the most humble and kind and I'm struck by how often people automatically assume that they'll be mean girls when they meet them. I'm also glad that the sadness of it being one of their last summers comes across because that was really the dominant feeling in my mind when I wrote it - that sense of 'we have to make the most of this time'.
Thanks so much for your thoughtful response
Evie feels confused about her feelings, and the question of whether she'll go to the Debs with Liam is only complicating things more...

I took a week off to go on my holidays, hence the delay but I'm back with a new chapter this evening!
Not too many interesting screenshots unfortunately - really all the characters were doing this time was standing around chatting. More action next time I promise!
In chapter 8, Evie is really starting to change her mind about Liam, but is she too awkward to turn down his invitation?

Something suitably Halloweeny for this one as Jude and Evie explore an abandoned church outside of town, and he tells her a ghost story from his own life.
