It’s a collectible that can be found by diving or on the beach.
It is a rare collectible. But, no merman or mermaid can ignore its call. If you are looking to find a merman or mermaid in hiding, that’s the fastest way to go. Aside from going to their home.
I’m just sorry Zeph didn’t show up. I mean, his outfits are almost exactly the same as Dylan’s. Maybe the game was simply being stubborn about letting the twins be on the same lot.
@GalacticGal Dylan and Zeph finished the body builder aspiration. They have the Long-Lived trait. With aging turned on, it will probably take a lot longer than normal for them to die of old age. Even on a normal life-span, Dylan and Zeph will always live longer than normal.
@GalacticGal and @Metior_Ice... yeah, the full three sim-week season, three season gestation was too much.
Next time, I'll do what I did with Cassie and run 1 sim-week seasons. A three sim-week pregnancy is short enough to be manageable and long enough to be a plot point.
I play with aging off and "narrative real time" ... which means I'm trying to keep true to the passage of seasons and years during the parts of the story I'm telling but sometimes I'll extend a season to give me more time to play within it and other times I'll "jump ahead" several years into order to age up characters. I certainly haven't played out all 16 years of Miranda's life to date... but I did leave her a baby for a full 4 sim-week "year" before aging her up to toddler, mostly as a challenge to myself.

@Jade47 I'm loving this story. You got me with the line about the pub serving the greater good. Being a mega fan of Hot Fuzz, I've watched it at least 100 times. I expected a whole chorus of sims to repeat the line, the greater good. There are some parallels to with the part about things not being what they seem on the surface, and the stories Agatha was telling about the various former residents. Bravo to for the Batman reference.
@Metior_Ice I have got to get caught up with your story. That will make a great break from my Jedi school building build....building building...build building...from making a school for Jedis.
@DaniRose2143 I actually threw the reference in as a kind of joke to see if any other Hot Fuzz fans would notice but also because I like the idea of HoB being less than perfect. I think that was my real issue with this expansion and why at first I disliked it. Of course that big empty lot could easily become Somerfield supermarket, but I'm not sure I want Simon Skinner running around in this story. The Batman reference came about because I was thinking about LOTR and all the Tooks and Brandybucks. So a similar thing occured when I saw the Cobblebottom name used and I thought maybe there are other families with similar names, Cobblestones, Cobblebroke and then of course Cobblepot. Somehow makes the tell joke about penguins interaction even funnier to me now.

HoB has given me Sanford vibes. Agnes is a stand-in for the Neighborhood Watch Alliance. Agatha is Leslie Tiller. First time I had a sim go into Gnome's Arms, excuse me, The Speckled Hen I could almost hear her ask Sara what varieties of wine she has, and Sara answer back "We have red..and white".
I could go on all night long about that movie. Whenever I need something to cheer me it's hard to beat Hot Fuzz or Good Omens, the book and the Amazon series. Have so wanted to make sim versions of the cast of both shows. I'm just no good at making sims resemble real people.
@DaniRose2143 Actually I saw a mod which unlocked the secret society outfits from DU so the whole idea of the village council of lunatics is probably quite easy to put in. You don't have to make them resemble the actors, just give them the right traits. So like Skinner would be evil, goofball, ambitious. The police sims could be made if you could find British police uniforms as CC. Also any farmer with the right outfit would work for Peter Ian Staker, plus we got swans in the pond update. Lol

I just updated my recent all Teen family member household & their very round home. It's about a family that only grows up to late teens & never ages.
Ok, so the secret is that I played around with the setage in CAS to make sure the Grandmother, Mother/Aunt are Teens with the younger sims. Also, I only play vanilla & alot of Sims 4 cheats.

I was nervous the whole time about Dylan's conversation with Erik. I wanted so much to do him justice. And, yeah, maybe one day we'll get an update/refresh to give our Sims electric razors and even Flawless devices for the women. No more nicks!
Forgot to mention this, but sims still have other fears beyond the base game. They get a scared moodlet depending on certain circumstances.
Jade has a fear of the ocean! I had her go into the ocean to talk to her Uncle Kemps, and she got a moodlet called Thalassophobia. Her positive moodlets over-powered the scared moodlet, but apparently, Jade is afraid of large bodies of water.

The entire cast of my story has at one time or another gotten that while swimming in the bay in Tartosa. Even that little cove on the North side of Tartosa.
When I get my PC back, I think I might update the game and just start a new save and keep aging off, for now. Hopefully the aging bug will be fixed properly fairly soon.
When it comes to the main characters in my saves finding partners, I usually start a new save and play the partner from birth before saving the family to the Gallery at the appropriate age (usually teen or young adult). This way they can have parents who attend the wedding (which is always nice), plus they’ve got more of a background to them than someone I created in CAS in the “story save” who I cheated skills with. What I mean is, the prospective partner feels more “real” to me. I might start doing similar for other background characters in my “story saves”, eg friends who are important to the story.

Liberty walks in to the lounge room after hearing a noise.
LIBERTY: Oh, it's only you dad.
HARRY: Sorry, i knocked over the games console. I was having trouble sleeping. What happened to the original sofa you had?
LIBERTY: It caught fire some years ago.
HARRY: That one was more comfy!
Flashback to the 1981 sofa fire:
At the dining table Harry and Liberty are talking:
HARRY: I was looking at that picture of Tommy and Sienna. It was such a shame to lose Tommy. How did he die?
LIBERTY: He had a cardiac explosion.

HARRY: You were right before, about explaining my death to you. You deserve an explanation.
LIBERTY: Ok, I'm listening.
HARRY: So, i enjoy the occasional gamble or flutter occasionally here and there. Sometimes i go over the top and get a bit competitive with whoever i'm gambling with. The first time i ended up in debt from gambling, i gave the whoever i was gambling against false name, you know, just to protect my self. The first time was easy. Fang Hakamoto was the first ever name i came up with.
LIBERTY: Fang Hakamoto?
HARRY: Yep!
HARRY: I asked a neighbour to answer the door when that person came looking for me. It was so easy! I give them a false name and they leave you in peace when they hear you are gone.
LIBERTY: And the second time?
HARRY: I'm surprised you didn't work that one out! When i gave you and your husband $1 million simoleans each to do as you wish? Eel Yrrah?
LIBERTY: What?
HARRY: Eel Yrrah was the name on both of those cheques!
Liberty still looks confused
HARRY: Eel Yrrah? It's my name reversed!
Harry and Liberty both giggle.
LIBERTY: So what about the last time?
HARRY: The last time happened too quickly. I ended up three million simoleans in debt before the night had even started. I picked red and my opponent picked black. It landed on black and i left the casino before i lost any more money. The guy who i owed money to tracked me down via Simstagram and i didn't answer the door for days. I finally tracked down your mother through your sister Marcia. I asked her to come down and help me out. Before i could think of another false name, the guy i owed money to was already at the door and your mother answered it she uttered the four words "Harry Lee is dead" Unfortunately my neighbour heard this and before i knew it the whole family was turning up and funeral took place. I'm sorry you had to get that call love.
LIBERTY: Thank You. But the last time i saw you you looked different? You had grey hair and an elderly thing going on?
Flashback to Harry's final appearance in 1981:
HARRY: That was a disguise! I thought if i looked different I could still get around without being identified but i ended up moving somewhere else away from the pressure laying low and I ended up reconnecting with your mother after all these years.
LIBERTY: Does this mean you'll be heading off soon?
HARRY: No, I want to be here with you to help you get your life right. I'll support you no matter what you end up deciding about your marriage and lifestyle love.
It was my first time playing my BACC in almost a month following the patch (it's a HEAVILY modded save file and over a year old so I was scared to ruin something and/or lose everything).
The game was kind of glitchy BUT I did send my current household patriarch and matriarch on a cute coffee shop date. Their daughter is aging up to a young adult in a sim day and I'm super excited to do her makeover! I might have to play again tomorrow evening and just push through the glitches. xD
Graduation was drawing near. Instead of lamenting the time, ill-spent in his mind, Erik buckled down and managed to ace his last day of exams. Perhaps, because it was his last. The moment he put his number two pencil down after the afternoon round of exams, the weight of the world evaporated from his shoulders. He was done. The sword of Damocles had been removed. Except that now Uni hung over his head. Why can’t I just get on with my life?
His good cheer flooded back Tsunami force once he learned he had Aced the test! Victory! In his mind, he should have aced them all. This was nothing more than review, with a Human twist. Looking up some of the questions presented on the exams when he got home, some of them, indeed, were trick questions, all of which led to ambiguity. There certainly was no clear answer to select. Erik wasn’t a manipulative Sim, but, he certainly felt manipulated. He could allow this to set him back, or he could just roll with it. In the end he simply wrote a song, The Llama Spits.
Saturday rolled around and Erik was up early, as usual. This time he spent much of the day down at the Taygeta Studios laying down tracks for another album. He was two-thirds of the way through when time turned against him. The sun was wan in the sky. Late afternoon called. Erik left the studios to be ready for his last Prom. Senior Prom. If things went well, this would end up being a weekend for the annuls of his life.
All gussied up, he still had time on his hands. Taking a moment to himself, Erik regrouped. He sat on his settee and finished his routine. A little cologne.
The all-important breath-spray.
“I’m off!”
“We all know that, Erik,” Joey chided. “Mom, Dad, Erik and I are headed out to the Prom.”
“Don’t wait up,” Erik hollered.
Arriving at the Gymnasium, as usual, the Juniors did a great job of decorating. Although it looks suspiciously like Homecoming in design. One note.
The night seemed to fly by. Erik didn’t get in a single dance step. This time He and Kayleigh did have a photo taken. Where it went, he had no idea. The next thing he knew he was being summoned to the stage, along with Joey. What have we done, now?
The brothers enjoyed this moment in the limelight.
Spying him from the stage, Erik came down the steps to stand right next to the Obsessed Fan, who somehow thought his birthday suit was the most formal and appropriate outfit to wear. This one was constantly hitting on Erik, so he stood there, called Kayleigh over to him, and then went down on his knee, as if to impart a strong message to the fan.
“Kayleigh, since our eyes first met, I knew you were the One. I can’t even imagine my life without you being in it. I want to make us a forever thing. Will you marry me?”
“Erik, do you mean it? Are you serious?”
“Absolutely. Be my wife, Kayleigh, please.”
“Oh, I’m shaking, I can’t believe this! Yes, I’ll be your wife.”
“How was the Prom, Kayleigh, Oh, it was nothing, just the best night of my life — Check it out, I’m getting married!”
“I love you so much, Erik!
“Catch!”
Joey and Erik returned home. Standing outside Joey said, “I went to the Prom, and all I got was this dumb hat!”
“How do I set up a Simstagram Account. I need to post this.”
“All I can say is Ms. Prescott didn’t seem upset that I won the crown, this time. Guess we’re friends again?”
“Just go onto the site and hit create an account,” Erik said. “Easy-peasy.” Then he snapped a Selfie of his own.
The next event of this weekend was the Starlight Accolades. Erik again, spent some time down in the Taygeta Studios after church. He laid down another track, making fifteen songs, enough for one album. He only had thirty more so he had three albums ready for release, once he entered Uni. He had to stay relevant.
The hour drew near. Entering the PBP Studios, Erik was hailed by a few Sims, and a Paparazzi. Once again he gave an ‘exclusive’ interview.
Chaos reigned.
While Erik was thrilled to death over each nomination he received, he had a hard time recognizing all of this buzz was about him. Four nominations in a row. Erik just felt blessed. Finally, the winner of this week’s Best Song was announced. Erik got up and walked to the microphone, hoping this time a fight wouldn’t break out. He stood there waiting, almost afraid to speak.
“I would like to thank everyone who made this happen. I am more than honored.”
When a ruckas didn’t break out, he felt encouraged to go on.
“This, actually, has been a stellar weekend for me. I aced my final exams which means I will graduate high school next weekend. I was crowned as Prom Royalty. My best girl said yes, and now this. I am overwhelmed and I can’t think of anything else that can ever top this! Yeah!”
“This has been an amazing ride and I have all of you, My fans, my friends, my family to thank for it. Tayegeta Studios, Orion Entertainment, Limited, the Starlight Accolade Academy. All of you. Without you, I’m nothing.”
“You have given me the platform. You have allowed me to shine. This is for you.”
“And I love you all. Good night everybody!”

In other news, my sims’ summer break is almost over, and that means that I’ll be writing a story update soon!
So far, Juniper has an A in High School and max character values. Jade has a much higher grade average than Juniper… In fact, Jade will be at the top of her class when she ages up.
I’m rushing to raise Jade’s character values because it looks like the younger elemental twins will be aging up by the end of the week!
I plan to get the new Expansion later, and I have my Kealoha Triplets, Zalen Kailani, Barnaby, Wade, Sora, and their girlfriends that I’ll be playing the new expansion with!

So far, it looks like the Vanilla game is working swimmingly, but I do have extremely obsessive phone use…
As soon as I get the chance, I’m going to double check on my other households to see if any romance relationships have appeared… It’s unconfirmed if I have the bug, but I know that I saw Barnabus, Wade, and Sora turn down a romantic advance at the same time just before they left the lot. It happened too fast for me to see what happened.
All I know is that it had to be a Male Sim that performed the interaction. I know this because Dylan and Zeph’s sons aren’t interested in men… I had to set it that way to prevent autonomous romance between cousins. I can’t tell who performed the interaction because Dylan’s twin sons and Zeph’s son were leaving the lot in different places at the time.
I did have Kailani Mermen arriving at the same time. Kylen and Aaron, who are married, do have an interest in men, but they found their sexual orientation through gameplay.
Kylen and Aaron are the uncles of Barnaby, Wade, and Sora. Kylen is an immediate cousin to Dylan and Zeph. But in spite of this close family relationship, the option to perform romance interactions would be possible between Kylen, Aaron, Barnaby, Wade, and Sora once Dylan and Zeph’s sons age up…
But they are teens right now, the potential romance shouldn’t be possible.

“We all know that, Erik,” Joey chided. “Mom, Dad, Erik and I are headed out to the Prom.”
“Don’t wait up,” Erik hollered.
The night seemed to fly by. Erik didn’t get in a single dance step. This time He and Kayleigh did have a photo taken. Where it went, he had no idea. The next thing he knew he was being summoned to the stage, along with Joey. What have we done, now?
The brothers enjoyed this moment in the limelight.
Spying him from the stage, Erik came down the steps to stand right next to the Obsessed Fan, who somehow thought his birthday suit was the most formal and appropriate outfit to wear. This one was constantly hitting on Erik, so he stood there, called Kayleigh over to him, and then went down on his knee, as if to impart a strong message to the fan.
“Erik, do you mean it? Are you serious?”
“Absolutely. Be my wife, Kayleigh, please.”
“Oh, I’m shaking, I can’t believe this! Yes, I’ll be your wife.”
“How was the Prom, Kayleigh, Oh, it was nothing, just the best night of my life — Check it out, I’m getting married!”
“I love you so much, Erik!
“Catch!”
Joey and Erik returned home. Standing outside Joey said, “I went to the Prom, and all I got was this dumb hat!”
“How do I set up a Simstagram Account. I need to post this.”
“All I can say is Ms. Prescott didn’t seem upset that I won the crown, this time. Guess we’re friends again?”
“Just go onto the site and hit create an account,” Erik said. “Easy-peasy.” Then he snapped a Selfie of his own.
The next event of this weekend was the Starlight Accolades. Erik again, spent some time down in the Taygeta Studios after church. He laid down another track, making fifteen songs, enough for one album. He only had thirty more so he had three albums ready for release, once he entered Uni. He had to stay relevant.
Chaos reigned.
While Erik was thrilled to death over each nomination he received, he had a hard time recognizing all of this buzz was about him. Four nominations in a row. Erik just felt blessed. Finally, the winner of this week’s Best Song was announced. Erik got up and walked to the microphone, hoping this time a fight wouldn’t break out. He stood there waiting, almost afraid to speak.
“I would like to thank everyone who made this happen. I am more than honored.”
When a ruckas didn’t break out, he felt encouraged to go on.
“This, actually, has been a stellar weekend for me. I aced my final exams which means I will graduate high school next weekend. I was crowned as Prom Royalty. My best girl said yes, and now this. I am overwhelmed and I can’t think of anything else that can ever top this! Yeah!”
“This has been an amazing ride and I have all of you, My fans, my friends, my family to thank for it. Tayegeta Studios, Orion Entertainment, Limited, the Starlight Accolade Academy. All of you. Without you, I’m nothing.”
“You have given me the platform. You have allowed me to shine. This is for you.”
“And I love you all. Good night everybody!”

In other news, my sims’ summer break is almost over, and that means that I’ll be writing a story update soon!
So far, Juniper has an A in High School and max character values. Jade has a much higher grade average than Juniper… In fact, Jade will be at the top of her class when she ages up.
I’m rushing to raise Jade’s character values because it looks like the younger elemental twins will be aging up by the end of the week!
I plan to get the new Expansion later, and I have my Kealoha Triplets, Zalen Kailani, Barnaby, Wade, Sora, and their girlfriends that I’ll be playing the new expansion with!

So far, it looks like the Vanilla game is working swimmingly, but I do have extremely obsessive phone use…
As soon as I get the chance, I’m going to double check on my other households to see if any romance relationships have appeared… It’s unconfirmed if I have the bug, but I know that I saw Barnabus, Wade, and Sora turn down a romantic advance at the same time just before they left the lot. It happened too fast for me to see what happened.
All I know is that it had to be a Male Sim that performed the interaction. I know this because Dylan and Zeph’s sons aren’t interested in men… I had to set it that way to prevent autonomous romance between cousins. I can’t tell who performed the interaction because Dylan’s twin sons and Zeph’s son were leaving the lot in different places at the time.
I did have Kailani Mermen arriving at the same time. Kylen and Aaron, who are married, do have an interest in men, but they found their sexual orientation through gameplay.
Kylen and Aaron are the uncles of Barnaby, Wade, and Sora. Kylen is an immediate cousin to Dylan and Zeph. But in spite of this close family relationship, the option to perform romance interactions would be possible between Kylen, Aaron, Barnaby, Wade, and Sora once Dylan and Zeph’s sons age up…
But they are teens right now, the potential romance shouldn’t be possible.
