The blog basically says this : ''Everyone has Preferences, you know? Likes and Dislikes matter when it comes to decorating. So ask questions! Find out their favorite color and music genre and decor style. Ask about the things that inspire them, if they have any hobbies, what their favorite pieces are.''

''Every Sim is different. I know, I know, I’ve said that a few times now, but I really mean it! In households with more than one occupant, sometimes it gets tough to balance what they want. Maybe two Sims have different color preferences''

I don't know, would seem weird if they did not say that on purpose...

It may come with these. But I think they’ll be free with the patch. I can’t imagine they’d charge us $20 for a fundamental feature, a feature that was included for free in the Sims 1, 2 and 3.

Looks like there might be a new TV channel. In the description it mentions a home decorating channel. It'll be interesting to see what all the packs has.

I think they show that on a TV in the trailer.

Yeah, but we never know with them...But anyway, considering they showed us a new slot in the CAS, it might be related.

It looks like it's only one CAS slot from the leaked pictures so I'm not sure how they would do a lot of likes and dislikes, maybe there will be personality types or their likes and dislikes will be based on their traits? Or it will just be randomly generated.

We will probably know more may 25th.

I think it will most likely be base game. During the livestream, the trait slot showed, and I think they only play with the base game and the new Kit.

Even if they do come to the base game, I'm still going to consider Preferences part of the Pack, in that the pack will heavily utilize the Preferences feature. And from what I understand of how they budget things, some of the pack's budget will have gone towards the Preferences system, even if it is ultimately a base game feature.

I don't know, I just hope they are not completely random like favorite drinks are. Pessimistically, I expect Cassandra Goth's favorite color to be pink and Nancy Landgraab's favorite music station to be kids bop or whatever they call it. And every single sim I create or raise will get some random thing that doesn't suit their personality at all. But hopefully I'm wrong.

It is already possible to declare sims' preferences for various stuff in game, but it will be interesting to see how this new options will apply and if they will be of any relevance apart from the home designer career gameplay.

They will likely be random unless you manually edit them in via Manage Worlds. The game probably checks if any Prefs are set when you meet a sim, start a gig or ask Pref questions and randomises if none are found.

Hi,

I remember when my sims were very happy when they did their favorite hobby in The Sims 2 FreeTime.

I hope The Sims 4 will bring a hobby system :

- In CAS, Be able to choose one or several favorite hobbies : For example, a sim with the Athletic trait could love to swim and could hate to play football.

- In game, The sim will autonomously do the favorite hobby and nothing could autonomously stop him/her (just red/yellow needs could stop it) : For example, my sim love video games, nobody should be able to force him to play basketball when he's playing video games even if he got an Athletic trait.

About an Expansion Pack, it requires a major gameplay expansion.

For example, a "like/dislike hobby" system, my athletic sim could love "Swimming", hate "Basketball" and like any other sports.

Color and Music is also coming in the Update. Decor is locked to the GP.
