Not sure where to post this, so I will just drop it here:
The idea is to share ANY memories you have with previous sims games that make you go:
Ooooh that was so great! I miss that! I want it back, i totally forgot about that cool thing etc.
It could be a feature you loved, something that you will always remember a certain Sims version by, a cool item in the game that you always used to save up for, your favorite pack and why etc. Just anything related to what gives you THAT nostalgia feeling when you think of previous sims games.
RULES:
* Only post TS1, TS2 or TS3 moments, features, pics, videos etc.
NO SIMS 4!
* You can post multiple memories in one post
* Don't go off topic too much
* You can continue to post as many memories as you like
*
Try to find pictures or videos of what you try to post. A picture is says more than a thousand words right?!
With this I hope to share our individual memories of previous Sims games and bring them together to remember each other of awesome things we might have forgotten.
Mine are in the next comment

That's about the first time I saw a single game would have that number of DLCs.
Should I paste store links here? :P
When you had a baby, there seemed to be a limited time for you to type in the babies name. After maybe a minute or so, the window would close down and you would never be able to name your baby again I am still traumatized from that and always have a few names ready.
Memory of TS2:
The car animations! The way the head lights lit up when you would enter the car and how you could just sit and listen to music or drive around for fun. (Sorry for the bad quality video though)

Memory of TS3:
When sims could do things like picnicking, swimming in the ocean, going to the beach, fish wherever they like and play tag. These were time fillers that didn't require (much) money and gave a little realism to the game for me.
Sure why not. maybe others can have benefit in them and it's nice to see what DLC caught your attention for previous games.
Husband and kid both pass out, and their loving family member laughs. (To be fair, I was laughing too.)
First thing that comes to mind is the danger stings from 1. If you've played, you can hear what I'm talking about. For the uninitiated: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Il5aZhYy8E - the burglar/El Bandito one would scare the life out of me when I would play alone in the dark! But now I kind of miss it. I'm warped.
Sims 2... honestly, everything about it is nostalgic to me, but the biggest thing has to be the memory system. The first time I found it, I was stunned and spent ages poring over every pre-made's memories and biographies. Every sim felt so incredibly fleshed out and detailed.
When I discovered House Of Fallen Trees in 2, I was amazed. I bought Nightlife on release day (as I did with every Sims game up until about a year and a half into 3) and didn't know you could live in Downtown until much later. The house has always struck me as mysterious and I love the subtle lighting quirk.
And secret societies from University in 2! That was another thing that blew my mind.
I really miss posing Sims for pictures with the camera. (I know we have the pose player now, but I miss it actually being in the game.

Also, this might seem inconsequential but...I really miss this screen when Sims were giving birth...it was so nice to know how many babies were coming before typing in a name.

But I do have pictures of these.
OMG! I never knew the burglar could steal babies wow!

All-in-one bathroom. I miss my sims getting everything done quickly. (this is someone's recolor on the sims3 exchange)

I found another from Sims 2 that I had done in a storyboard. Nina Caliente (green jacket) decided to poke fun at a very powerful witch, but the witch got the last laugh in the end.
I miss my horses in TS3
I miss Create a Style
And from TS2, I miss Pixie Enayla custom skins. Those were the best skins ever! Look at my beautiful TS2 sims thanks to those skins.
Haunted: Picture Oscar Wilde dating Willy Wonka, also Oscar Wilde is still dead
I would always make them fight, and torture Bob until he got mad and left. Watching him stalk off with that indignant hankie on the "I'm mad" stick never failed to give me a good laugh.
Then Betty got to remodel the house to her satisfaction and start a life as an Independent Lady.
I still love doing it.
I don't remember ever taking any pics of TS1 but I did take many in TS2. Unfortunately they are long gone as I have moved back to Australia in recent years. I probably have them on a thumb drive somewhere but I doubt it as I was fully immersed in TS3 by then.
I have wonderful memories from both 1 through 3 but, for the life of me, can't think of anything specific just yet.

I have never played Sims, Sims 2 or Sims 4 and am still playing Sims 3 so I don't have any nostalgic memories of the game itself so much as nostalgic memories of individual games played. I have played a different game that had some similarities but that gave me a better appreciation for Sims 3.
I appreciate how the mesh of the cloths adjusts automatically to any change of the sim's body. I love CASt for clothes, furnishings and building parts. I love open world and that it's a sandbox with no forced way to play. I love the ability to change a sim, a lot, a town and the customization of game play through options and how Sims 3 is open to modifications for more control of game play.
Some pictures of what I like about Sims 3:
I can use a customized skin to create my own sim
or I can modify an existing one
Jamie Jolina, before and after
I can build my own residential lot and place on a new lot in a town
or I can modify an existing lot
Because we can create our own towns we get custom worlds by creative simmers such as Cape Garner Islands by Johnnywr
Late Night was a fun expansion that introduced vampires. Because of a custom mod my Vladimir Schlick remake can teleport at night and arrive in a cloud of bats
Love the horses from the Pets expansion
but other animals are fun too.
Seasons is my favorite expansion, winter is my favorite season.
winter in Cape Garner Islands
Love the self employed professions - painter, gardener, equestrian, etc
There is a lot more that I appreciate about Sims 3 but that's all for now.
Last post about this.
Love the music. Now when I am in a current game and I hear certain music a feeling of past games washes over me and I do get nostalgic for the joy of new discoveries then. Even the music when first creating a sim or moving a household in to start a game I get that bitter-sweet feeling of nostalgia.
