When you are making sims....

«13
do you ever make your friends or families? I usually don't; but one time I did make a friend of mine. I had downloaded a Jude Law sim and moved him in with her. They got married. She was so happy. LOL

I tried to make my parents house once, but it was too much trouble. They have an odd shaped house.

Recently, I made Penelope Garcia from Criminal Minds. She is my favorite character from that show. Not family or friend, but I wanted to make her anyway. She is a tech guru.

I enjoy making TV characters more than real life people I know. It's fun to figure out their houses too.

About the only real life people I've made are my simself and my grandparents. They had a farm and I enjoyed "walking" down memory lane making their home and putting them in it. Of course, I made my real family too.

I've never made anyone but myself, and even playing her feels weird. :D

But a few years ago I started a giant project of making sims from my favorite tv shows. I cleared out a town and then with Nraas Story Progression I watched them all interact and become friends and get married. It was pretty cool to see who ended up together. I've still got them all saved somewhere, maybe some day I'll do it again.

I think one of the oddest pairings was Rose Tyler from Doctor Who was dating Tom Haverford from Parks & Rec. :p

Nope, I never make any Sims of people I know or myself (don't want the 'real world' too heavily involved in my game).

For the most, I don't add any living people, such as celebrities, into my game with the exception being other Simmer's Simselves. I don't play these Sims they are always free living townies. However, I make it a point to set them up in the way their creator defined them.

Several years ago, I made my real life house. So I decided I should also make my real life family, at the age we all were when we first moved into the house. I made my husband and myself, but they don't look anything like either of us. I asked each of my three adult children to make themselves as young adults for me, which is their current age anyway, so they could decide their own traits, favorites, hair and wardrobes. Then I'd change them to the child stage to place in the house, and use the sims they'd made to select aging up traits and outfits. My daughter and my youngest son's simselves didn't look any more like them than the ones I'd made of my husband and myself, but my older son's simself looked exactly like him, except for the eyes.

It seemed too weird to play my own family, but when I was playing a sim who started a band and couldn't find anyone among the residents of Bridgeport that had high enough skill, I placed sims into the town for her to have in her band, with my son's simself among them to be the pianist, because he plays and even makes up his own music. His simself actually sounds very much like him when he talks, and acts a lot like him too. It felt like I was hanging out with my son in the game.

I've made myself. The first one I made is an elder and represents me as I am now. The other I made fairly recently and is an adult and based on me in my late 30s. My simself gets played occasionally but generally is just left to her own devices as a townie and watched from a distance. She is immortal and has never died in the many years I have had her. I could never make a friend or family member, although I am fairly good at making sims that look like the person I base them on.

I have made several celebrity sims and have a lot of fun playing them. Last week I made a Keanu Reeves sim who I am using as my avatar.

Not usually in the creation stage, maybe once or twice. What I prefer to do is find similarities among in-game sims to people I might know in real life. Some such sims might have things in common with more than one real life person. One of my legacy household's adoptees turned out to be remarkably like one of my best friends, although in that case I might have been playing him that way as soon as I saw the resemblance. A random pre-made in Uni I consider to be much like a good friend I had in high school, a now grown child of a sim I did make keeps reminding me of my younger brother.

On the adoptee, of the ones mentioned the only one I play actively, I've told this story before but I still remember his birthday up to YA. There was a cousin staying with them who was due to age up at the same time. He had no problems with his birthday cake, but she ended up setting the house on fire. Everyone of course started running around in a panic, screaming, doing not so helpful things. Everyone except the adoptee, he sat there in the middle of it all eating his birthday cake and blissfully staring into space the entire time (no one was really injured, thankfully, and never underestimate the soothing properties of freshly baked goods). That is exactly the way my friend's 16th birthday went a very long time ago, except without the fire -- all the yelling and screaming were really about some family drama or other that was taking place. I was both amused and creeped out at the same time. :)

I have made celebrities,I have made my RL ex GF in the game even though we ended on bad terms, but in sims 3 you can light people on fire or blow up their cars without penalty. :smirk: So she is that girl you turn into a toad when you get the feels. And if I am feeling extra sweet I date my Simified ex gf only to cast a inner beauty spell on her followed by cheating in front of her with a hottie sim while she looks like a troll.

What do you mean I am bitter ??

This sim is the simself of my wife @Featherbelle (who's the one that indulges my Sims 3 addiction). :D

This sim is the simself of my late father...(who passed away in 2009; I tried to give him the "life he should have had"). :) It's been almost 10 years since my RL father passed away, I still miss him to this day.

It's been a while since I've made Sims from scratch. Oops, I just remembered I made one recently, a musician called Jenny :D .

I prefer to make characters from my favorite books, movies and TV shows. For some reason, but I don't know why that is. Or I know, maybe?

I’ve got Keanu Reeves in San Myushino - not using his real name and totally in love with a cute hacker called Kitty. He wants to propose but I’m not sure she’s good for him, I think he’ll end up bankrolling her lifestyle.

I've also made Sims from my favorite TV show...and from the fanfictions of the show that I've written.

And of course...well, I used Audrey (from MTS)'s Catherine Bell sim for Mac; because, I swear, I couldn't get the sliders to cooperate on creating my own Mac.

Back in sims 2 I made a giant household of myself and all my friends, and then just let them loose on a large lot with lots of different activities for them to do.

A very good portion of them died in a kitchen fire, and I believe the rest slowly drowned as time went on.

I have SS of myself and my rl hubby but they look nothing like us which is okay. It's one of the good things about this game is that one can make SS of themselves and make them to be whatever they want them to be such as a werewolf, vampire, fairy or any other supernatural creature. Or even put them in jobs or professions that otherwise we wouldn't be in in our rl. Or have them cheat on their in-game spouses with other Sims and not worried about being called a cheater by your rl spouse.

I have also made a rl version of my former HS bf when I was playing TS2 back in the day. And then either I put her in the same house as my SS or moved her in to another house either next door or across the street so that they can be friends in the game... :) I even once made a sim of my former supervisor from my old job that I was laid-off at. I made her a fat person as she was once fat before having to loose weight because of her diabetes and placed her in a empty house. I then sent my SS over to her house so that I can declare her as an enemy so that my SS can beat the living daylights out of her. It was my way of dealing with being let go from a job that I had for 20+ years.

I have also recreated my childhood home in my game. It's the one in my signature. Boy did I have a hard time trying to create that house for a very long time as I kept trying to place the foundation next to the wall instead of doing it a block or 2 away and then then using the leveling tool to make the wall the same height as the foundation since the house is a split foyer home.
My mom was quite impress with my recreation of our house. She was surprised by what I could do with this game... :)

I had also recreated my grandparents trailer that they lived in when I was little... :) I've used this in my Barnacle Bay saved where I have my SS and my SS hubby living in... :)
These pictures were taken in Hidden Springs on the 1st recreation of the trailer before my hard drive had died on me.

And then I recreated my in-laws house in my game. It's the house that my current gameplay is in at the moment... :)
My in-laws was also impress by their house and yard. They said that I had nailed it right on the head with the way the house and yard looked... :)

I personally never make sims of real people/actors, except back when I played TS2 I made a sim for my sister. I've always made sim versions of my irl pets or characters from video games I like though.

Yeah, I make TV characters all the time too. Also comic books & cartoons. I hardly ever make sims of people I know though.

In one save I made my own apartment, it turned out so-so in blueprint likeness, but was decorated to the point, and I made a sim to be me living there, but I had not grasped the CAS yet, the likeness just wasn't there.

In my current save I needed a farmboy to marry my farmgirl, but I rarely make and play male sims so when he was done I realised that he looked way to much like my younger brother. It just felt weird so I ended up just saving Gladsten Farmwell from Moonlight Falls to the library, and importing him to Riverview. He is the only good looking premade mansim in my opinion and I wanted Flora Farmare to have some eye-candy :) (I gave him that LTR too). His last name was excellent for the project too, but I gave him more appropriate traits for a monogamous farmer. He passed on his nose to his firstborn, unfortunate teenage girl.

But I used my brothersimself as a love interest for Gladstens alien son, so he wasn't wasted.

Because Gladsten is in the library the game generated him as a townie, so now there are duplicate hunks in Floras town, maybe she will get confused in her elder days and stray? Or maybe her stepson Beebop will aquire an elektra-complex on top of his already oidipus one - always gazing at the stars surrounded by space rocks as he is ... :P

I've made my versions of Sebastian and Ciel from Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler), Freddie, Maxxie and Tony from Skins, and L, Light, Watari, Matt, Mello and Near from Death Note. My Son Matthew created an older version of him his future wife and their dog when he was 14. I also created my SS and gender switched her for a male version of my SS (I hate my female SS but love my male SS... :flushed: ), I also recreated our RL house but want to redo it since I know how to build better than I did back then.

Just posted this in another thread but it applies here too...

Matt, Mello, Near, Light, L and Watari are all characters from the manga/anime series Death Note.

Matt was only in the Manga for a few pages and in the anime for a few moments but he and Mello have a huge base of rabid fans (me being one of them)…

    Light and L:

    43689992984_d111186872_z.jpg

    41099041100_0c61fe1369_c.jpg

My Light is the most faithful to his actual looks in the Manga...I aged up Matt, Mello and Near, and made L less anime more Simmy..

    38197287326_d867dd1e8d_c.jpg

I recently made him a bit more mature looking..

    Fan art..Near and L:

    43516194551_df670827bb_z.jpg

Fan art...I love this one, L really is older than Matt, Mello and Near, Matt loves video games, Mello love chocolate and Near is just frigging cute!

Near, with Matt in the background..

    Parting shots:

These pretty much sum up how Light and L feel about "the watcher and life ruin-er" they kinda both hate me....

Nope not often at all. The closest I have to a sim in my game resembling anyone from real life is the sim in my avatar. She used to be a simself but then I found it weird so I gave her an extreme makeover :D

The only resemblance to me now that she has are her traits and her hair color. And maybe the eyebrows? :p
