Help, Game Won't Run After August 16th Patch!!

I just went to play my game, and got the new patch from August 16th, now I can't get my game passed the opening, where it says The Sims 4! It goes passed it, but to a white screen and stays there! Or it minimizes into a little inch and half thing with just the minimizing thing, the enlarging one and the closing one, where sometimes it will be stuck, and you can't go back to full screen!
I was all excited to see the new free stuff and to see if my sims really were going to start putting on the right clothes when going outside and coming back inside, but instead my game got broke!
I have been relaunching it over and over again, and nothing happens, and I have no mods, but even if I did they would be off now because of the update! So now they are going to have to put out a patch to fix this patch or something! Unless I'm the only one with this problem!

Try shutting down your computer completely. Start the computer again, then log into Origin, and try to launch the game and see if that helps.
Try turning off origin in-game and see if that helps. To do that, go to Game Library in Origin . Right click on The Sims 4 picture. Click on “Game Properties”. Then untick the box that enables origin in-game

If you have cc/mods in your game, move your whole mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and see if the issues are still there.
Some simmers have been finding that the road to fame and extreme violence mods have been causing issues. It would be best to remove them if you have them.
If you have the UI Cheats extension mod , it would be best to remove the mod and download/install the updated version that has been released since the previous patch

I did everything suggested in this thread and still...no luck.
Any other ideas?
(PS I am NOT very uh...computerly inclined? lol I haven't done anything with the Sims files on my hardrive because I have NO idea what I should do and am afraid I might do something to ruin my saved games)

I tried that but still no go. I followed the steps and when I start up the game the "test game" I saved loads but none of my other games or builds show up. I also tried copying my files from onedrive to my external hard drive that holds all my Sims stuff and I am still not able to load my older saves.
I can't find the lots and sims I had saved on the exchange either. Is it time to get upset yet?
Do you use One Drive? If you do it could be causing this issue, Try seeing if there is a sims 4 folder in One Drive . The game may be using that Sims 4 folder instead of the one in Documents -Electronic Arts -sims 4 folder . One Drive can cause issues,

You will need to either unlink or hide one drive, then you can use the Sims 4 folder on your other drive

Or if you want to keep using One Drive you could copy your saves and tray folder into the sims 4 folder on one drive, replacing the saves and tray folders that are already there.

I have uninstalled One Drive tried it all again and still no go.
I have been looking through my files and in my "tray" file I can see all the dates that match the last time I played Sims prior to the new patch update. BUT I can't find any saves that match those dates?
Also each time I get out of the Sims there is a new EA folder in my "Documents" folder on my laptops hard drive- this is NOT where my Sims saves are supposed to go. Before today they always went to the correct location on my external hard drive. I have deleted the EA folder in the Documents folder three times now.
*sigh* I think I am in over my head. I can't understand why the "Tray" folder on my external hard drive has the correct info but not the correct saves and I have no idea how to fix the games saving on my laptop hard drive and not my external drive. I also can't seem to figure out how to get all of my saved lots and sims back into my "Library" folder on the Sims Gallery either.
Thank you so VERY much for the help tonight. Think I am going to just step away from the game tonight before I get even more upset. Perhaps I can figure things out tomorrow.

The files of your creations that are in your library are kept in the tray folder. Your save game files are kept in the saves folder.
Have you moved your whole Documents folder to the external drive? You would need to move it there, to have your saves and tray folders on your external drive. Otherwise the save game files and library creations files will be saved to your laptop. Wherever the Documents folder is located is where the Sims 4 folder with the saves and tray folders in it will be located.
Having sims 4 folders on an external drive is not recommended. It can cause issues. It would be better to have your sims 4 folder on an internal drive,

Try moving your whole mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and test to see if that helps the issues. If it does help, then put your mods/CC back into the newly generated mods folder in the sims 4 folder one by one or in batches and testing the game after each one to see which is the cause of the problem.

For months, since the Cats And Dogs patch, meaning the one right before the EP was released, every time I tried to start my game it would get to the part with the Sims 4 logo, go to a blank white screen, and get stuck, instead of going on to having those tips on my screen, just before the part where we get to choose which of our save games to play! And when it did that, I would have to shut it down with Task Manager, not once, but at least twice!
But today after I shut off Origin in the game, it came up like normal, not once, but twice, because I exited it again, to see if it would do it again, and it did!
Sure I still have the problem with Sims coming through my sims front door, in a house that is not an apartment, and then knocking on the door like they are still outside! And if I have my sims go to invite them in, then they and my sims goes back outside, before the visitor will actually come in, and sometimes, they don't come in, they walk away, like it was a joke, and they really didn't want to come in at all! Its weird!
But I do have some good news, they fixed that problem with sims not changing their clothes when going outside and then come back in, or so it seems, the family I was play was in Summer, so I can't be sure about coats, but they did put on their hot weather clothes on days when it was really hot outside, but of course they wore them inside to, but that's more normal, so I still don't know if they will take off their coats once inside!
In any case, turning Origin off in game should work, unless you aren't playing it in a normal matter, like having your saves somewhere different then where it should be, or you have lots of mods!
I have only one, a Skill one, that makes them learn faster, but that is it! I decided months a go to remove all the mods, like clothes, hair, but also buymode stuff, and actually mods that change things in game, now all I have is one!
I did have a gender preference on too, which I loved, but it doesn't work since a few months ago, I don't know if it was a patch or one of the new packs I got, but it doesn't work anymore! Its actually a script mod, so you have to have it where they're aloud to use it, but even with it on, it didn't work anymore!
I sure wish they would give us a thing in CAS to choose our gender preference if we want to, like where that have you choose whether our sims can pee standing up or get another sims pregnant or get pregnant themselves, they could have gender preference too!

But with your issue, it may be best to do what I suggested in the earlier post, Try moving your whole mods folder to the desktop. Then test the game.

You can right click the mods folder, click “ cut”, then right click on the desktop and click “ paste “.
