I could finish by the deadline but I'd be rushing, so I'd like more time too please @cbear13. It helps me if I take my time on a build because I think up better ways to build and decorate if I'm not rushing.
I'm sorry if I ask something that already is stated clear but I cannot find the answer anywhere, blind me...
Where can I find a 40x50 lot? I spotted all the other lot sizes(50x50, 64x64) but apparently not this one. I have all packs but I didnt see a single one...? I wanted to start with the smallest lot.
So many nice houses here. Really inspiring. Want to join too but I'm not sure I have time for that as so much is going on right now.
Ugh i never started this challenge cuz i knew it would have taken me a long time to finish the build i so i have been waiting on the new challenge for 1 week and now i gotta wait another week T.T #feelsbadman
@Cbear13 Thank you for letting me know I went ahead and modified the gallery link in that case! Also thank you for the compliment I learnt soooooo much about the modern style thanks to this competition haha.
Hey guys Just wanted to thank the creator of this challenge. I feel it really let me step out of my usual style and I learnt so much about the modern style, not just from my build but exploring and running around all the amazing builds on here. Modern interior design is quickly becoming my favourite! It inspired me to mix it up and use a modern interior on my French Baroque city-house. I call it 'When Baroque met Modern' haha. I feel like I learnt so much from building my Challenge house, and now the modern interior in this house is quite a lot better than my Challenge house, which I guess is a bit sad haha but also good to learn and grow as a builder
Anyway in case anyone wants to see, I put all the pictures and story of this new Baroque exterior Modern interior build in the spoiler
So I finalllllllllly finished my Parisian house after spending way too much time on it. It is likely the most time I have ever spent on details both exterior and interior. What's amazing is that what started off as a build request from Amiutza has definitely become my favourite thing I have ever build, and likely my most complete build so far haha. I haven't linked it to the gallery yet because there are 3 or 4 pathing issues I must fix and I have no idea how, so if anyone knows how (I will point them out in the pictures) please let me know.
I also took waaaay too much pictures as this was my first time using tab mode in Sims 4 haha. So apologies in advance if it is a bit crazy.
I called the build "When Baroque Met Modern," and here's the gallery description I wrote: #noCC #modern #French #Baroque #Renaissance #mansion #family #flowerbed #undergroundpool #Parisian #hometheatre #balcony #openfloorplan #waterfall #statues #winecellar #attic When Ms. Baroque met Mr. Modern it was amour at first sight! But they couldn't decide on a style, thus a compromise: buy a Baroque house and replace the inside with ultra-modern furnishings! Who wants 17th century appliances anyway? Ms. Baroque, though, couldn’t give up her beloved style and snuck in a Baroque woman-cave!
Because women can have man-caves too, but just classier Now those two crazies have moved to the French country so the home is free to explore and take care of I spent a crazy amount of time making all sorts of tiny nooks in this build and tried to make it all tie back into this story of two clashing styles haha.
Ok I'm likely writing too much and should just get to the pictures haha.
View from ground level:
Standard view: Here's the first pathing issue. Sims cannot get into either of the two garden nooks. This is the weirdest pathing issue, and I'm not sure what is going on with it. It might be caused by the ground being covered by lily of valley squares, but I know for a fact that sims can walk over this grass. What's even weirder is if I remove one of the lily of the valley squares from under the right arch, then the sim can go and walk to the bench and sit, just 1 square... so weird.
Back view:
Night view:
Garden nook with waterfall, one of my favourite parts, took forever to make, but alas sims cannot get to it at the moment haha:
Other garden nook:
Front and rear roof accents, these were definitely my favourite part of the entire build, just adore that European style of building statues into the exterior walls. Can also see the balconies here with a sitting and meditation area, quiet places to get away from all the bustle going on outside. The front accent I call the Winged Ballerina, and the rear the Winged Knight haha (yes I got super excited when I saw an item that could work as wings from Dine Out, and could work as waves! I couldn't decide between wings or waves so now they are wings with ships sailing on them haha):
Now for the inside! Which goes to ultra-modern style. First the dining area:
The super long kitchen:
The theatre-esque living room. Here's the next patching issue. Sims cannot turn on the tele or sit in the raised chairs. I'm guessing raising a chair with 9/0 makes it unusable so I know how to fix that. My question for the tele is, I built it on the foundation to look cool, but it seems like that means sims cannot use it. Is there a way to make this work? Do I need to build stairs somewhere? It isn't like sims actually walk up to the tele to turn it on, so I'm very confused why pathing matters here.
Ground floor parlour bathroom:
Overview of ground floor:
Overview of basement floor. This part is quite cool because this is where the "woman-cave" is haha, which is the only Baroque style indoors. I created a path which splits to Baroque on one side and modern on the other, which I felt symbolised the build overall quite well haha. And of course there's the wine cellar, which is always good lol:
And here's that clashing style hallway, modern to the left and Baroque to the right haha:
The underground pool:
Pool restroom, going to actually have to redo this as sims cannot get around the sinks, I'm guessing they require at least a tile to move haha:
The Baroque woman-cave!:
First floor aerial, decided a colour scheme felt like it fit the modern style haha:
Guest bedroom:
Children's room, ideal for fraternal twins haha. Or just anyone who likes cute wall bunnies
Second floor overview, here's the last pathing issue. Sims cannot seem to move around in the music nook area. It seems to be the circular chandeliers, which is annoying because they fit so well and I didn't want to have to remove them. Any idea why they block pathing being on the ceiling?
Also I built windows in the gable accent roofs, but it doesn't seem like there's a way to connect a roof wall with actual walls so that the floor could use those windows. I recall in sims 3 we could do this. Is there a way to do so in sims 4?
Music nook:
Master bedroom with huge closet and statues:
Master bath:
Attic:
Anyway, so sorry for the giant wall of text and pictures! I went a bit crazy with the tab mode and general excitement over finally finishing haha.
Clementine is such a very nice large and fully featured home! @masajo The exterior design of the home looks so very nice! The white and orange colours of the exterior gives it a very nice look! Very nice layout of the build! Both the outdoors and interior areas look very nice! I have posted about the home on your showcase thread
Many thanks @lsnishi for your wonderful words, very kind of you. Glad you like the colour scheme, it was lots of fun to work with
Thank you very much dear @rosemow for all your beautiful kindness and support, always truly welcomed and very much appreciated:)
@masajo very awesome build! I'm guessing the name refers to the orange haha which is clever! The orange colour and angles were a bold choice and worked beautifully to create a striking effect. I also like the bamboo window effect a lot. The interior decoration is such an amazing balance of not too much or too little stuff and looks very natural, which I have a lot of difficulty with, I always don't do enough or go way overboard haha.
Thank you very much @kimartist very kind of you Your mansion is fantastic, love the pool area, perfect for relaxation and the monotone shades of the interior look very chic and stylish
Many thanks @Nore for your kind and wonderful words Your build is stunning, very intricate and detailed architecture and I love all the outdoor areas, so unique and interesting

Notes: I would be very happy, if you could find out why the fudge I can't use the fireplace. Had deleted all the plants next to it and it still didn't work. The two couches next of it are partly useable since I merged them together and used the pillows to hide the flickering, sadly parts of the pillows can be seen below the couch.
Only three of the benches outside around the tree are useable, the one towards the backyard is not.

@crysk sorry i havent managed to look at your build yet, but sometimes an overhead light can stop a sim from getting to an object?? even if it looks like it cant possibly be in the way!
The exterior design of Coopers Paradise is very nice! @crysk The design of the roofing, the texture of the exterior walls and the layout of the build looks great! The flower balconies and the round flower sculpture with the tree in the middle in it are very pretty! The curved roof car port is great! Very nice furnishing and layout of the interior of the home! The bedroom is very nice. Sims will enjoy waking up to sunshine coming through the bedroom glass windows and patio door. The fruit bowl, display plate and candle are nice touches in the room. Very nice design of the double sinks counter in the kitchen. Nice sofa seat sitting nook in the upper landing area. The pictures are nice touches on the wall. The bonsai cats water fountain feature in the back patio area is very creatively great!
Your simversion of Simon is very handsome It is nice that he has a cat.
Yay, I finally finished and play tested! This is the first 64x64 lot I ever did and it took forever. @cbear13, thank you for the additional time; it gave me time to really think about how I wanted it to look. I was trying to make a modern mansion with a very formal front and more natural backyard because I figure pets would want a back yard with trees, grass and flowers and not cement or tile. Note there are lounge chairs on the left side of the left pool in the front that are unusable due to ottomans blocking them (but sims can sit on the ottomans). There is also a purely decorative laundry room on the second floor; it's meant to be a space where real laundry stuff can be put when that pack comes out.
