Little Things YOU Get Excited Over?

Reading this thread is really fun. :) The little things I look for are:
    - Autonomous romance between couples.
    - Autonomous spell casting by witches.
    - When detective sims do that "Yessss" gesture after solving a case.
    - The Party Animal "Wooooo!" interaction.
    - How sims look around and smile when I send them running through the neighborhood.
    - The way Grumpy sims grimace at everything.
    - Watching mermaids open treasure chests or just underwater in general. (I wish there was a Sims Mermaids game that would let you play in an underwater world.)
    - When a mummy sings to himself, especially in the bathtub.
    - When ghosts go to nap on their old beds. I've had them come out of their urns just to sleep next to their living spouses, which is the most adorable thing.

These might count as big things:
    - Pregnancies! I like to anticipate gender, multiples, and the few visible characteristics they inherit from their parents.
    - Birthdays! I love to see how kids grow into the looks they inherit. It also keeps the game fresh. There's always an up-and-coming generation that will do something different or better.

There is a reward trait that gives me the warm fuzzies.
    It's the "Always welcome trait"

I love being able to visit my previous Sims/builds and be able to take a shower, sleep on the beds...and generally make my Sim at home.
Afterall I built it...why not help myself in the fancy kitchen to make a gooey grilled chesse sandwhich?

That and the fidelity on the speakers in this game is great. Custom music files have always rocked but for some reason they seem a bit sweeter in this game.
Are you sure about these things? They sound like comments for TS4. I've never heard of an Always Welcome trait in TS3. There is an Inappropriate in a Good Way LTR, but that's not exactly the same.

No I default to recent discussions and posted that by accident.
Sorry for befouling your thread with TS4 stench. Carry on B)

Hi again I really don't want to hijack a thread but I have no clue how to start a new one! I am just needing to say thank you for the warm welcome (not surprising but still lovely)! I have learned a ton from you all, and that has made my game playing so much better!
I also love the truly disgusted way my explorer sim reacts to the bugs in the wall and floor holes inside tombs. I swear he is saying "Eww! Buggies!

It is getting pretty cold here in my part of the UK, with much frost so I was very excited to see my game getting very frosty too...

Then I was even more excited because my sims had their first bit of snow! YAY!

Winter is one day away for them, and then Snowflake Day will probably be 5 days after that. I can't wait lol.

Going to your girlfriend/boyfriends parents and asking them for their permission to marry their child. I just discovered this not long ago and it's amazing! If the parents say yes, your Sim gets a positive moodlet for like, 10 days too

I've never seen them, but I've always wondered if there were alternate results possible from that interaction.

    "Who the heck are you?!"

"Hmm. Well, let's see. Do you know the secret handshake yet?"

"Please, by all means take them away! They never cook, clean up after themselves, and they have no job. And you can't bring them back if you change your mind!" (a slightly more questionable moodlet for this one, though)

Gosh, there are so many little things in this game that I love!
I'll only mention a few though:
+The way the leaves start to slowly change when Summer is ending and Fall is starting.
+When couples rub their noses together after making out on a bench or couch.
+When kids are in costume and the walk around like that character. I love it how my kids bounce around as if they're on the moon in their astronaut costume!
+Seeing icicles hanging off the roof.
+When my sim is out on the town and I see all the other sims are out doing their own thing. Especially when I see couples holding hands or giving flowers!
+The cute "Oops!" face sims make when they mess up on hopscotch.
+Just watching my sim raking up the leaves.
+Trick or treating is just too cute!
+Creating cute outfits for my children and decorating their bedrooms.
+Throwing Spooky Day parties and seeing the costumes other sims show up in. Some are pretty hilarious!
And so much more! Sims 3 is the best!

Hanging up Christmas lights on my Sims house is one of the first things I do when it's Winter
    Trick or Treating

In Winter, the sunsets/sunrises are 10x more beautiful.

Ok, how do you hang up the christmas lights? I managed to do it once in a game by clicking on the front door, and got the option. Then the game crashed, and when I restarted, none of the sims have the option anymore by clicking on the front door. :(

If there's more than one door into the house, the front door may have been reset when the game crashed. Does the door have the option to "set as front door" when you click on it? If it does, do that. If not, the whole lot may need to be reset.

Do you have NRaas Master Controller? You can reset the lot with that, or any object on the lot. If you don't, save your game, go into edit town and select your active household. Evict them from the house to the clipboard, and save the empty house to the library. Bulldoze the lot, then place the house you just saved in the library back on the lot. Move your household on the clipboard back into the house, and choose it as the active household.

Your active sims will lose any opportunities and promised wishes, but all of their relationships and careers will be intact. To make sure any personal items, like prom photos, awards, paintings and books created by the active sims, or perfect produce, don't get lost, I always move those things into my sims' personal inventories before doing anything like this. It's probably not necessary, but there have been times in the past that I lost things like that, so I don't take any chances anymore.

Pretty much all the unicorn interactions are fantastic. When they groom each other, how they play, the blessing...everything! <3

When my sims read to their toddlers. it's so cute when the toddler points at the book then up at their parent. Also, I get so excited when my sims become children and their imaginary friend comes alive. I love seeing my sims run around playing tag or sitting down to play dominoes with their imaginary friends!

    I'm back with some more!
+How dogs snuggle their puppies when they are sleeping.
+Just watching dawn approach and the sun rise while my sims are sleeping. Especially in Winter!
    +Watching cats groom their kittens.
+When puppies are running and they trip and fall. Aww!
+How clumsy sims almost drop the ring box when they're proposing.
+The cute face toddlers make when they refuse to get off the spring rider.
+Seeing a raccoon slinking around in the dark.
+Splashing in the puddles after it's been raining.

The long-suffering/exasperated look mixologists get when sims give them mixology advice or ramble aimlessly.

While I HATE it when human Sims "check out new object", I love it when pets do. There's something about a dog or cat with the thought bubble of the new curtains or whatever over their head that cracks me up every time.

And a brand new little thing that I've just discovered I love ... my sim just had her first date with Chuck Hobble at the tavern. She's been dating 2 other guys in town, but I think she might pick Chuck as a steady if they hit it off ... he rode his horse Shadow to the tavern for their date! I'm utterly charmed. :D

I love when kids 'go on a submarine adventure' in the bathtub, and when sims strut after woohoo :)

I'm late to the party, but OMG, I just noticed the picture on the start menu when you have an infant. It is just too sweet for words. I'm not sure if this is just for first children, but the photo was so adorable, it was one big group hug and the you can't see the parent's faces as they are cooing over their child.

I'm a little late to the party too. Heh. But I love the little things in TS3 so much, I just had to include my list.

    - When Sims smile and stretch out their hands to catch snowflakes when it's snowing and they're walking outside
    - Watching an artistic Sim paint. I never know what the outcome will be at first glance, but I do know it'll be beautiful.
    - Just watching my Sim play guitar pieces (favourites include "A Love Since Forgotten", "Yes Ma'am, I Do", "Dream Escape", "It Ends Now", and "Flamenco Fever")
    - Watching other Sims get wrapped up in my Sim's guitar playing
    - Watching pets socialise (I love looking at the little speech bubbles over their heads)
    - Watching pets react to things like the TV and the stereo (for some reason I find it adorable)
    - When puppies and kittens trip up while running
    - The lifeguard swim. Don't really know why, but I like it better than the normal breast-stroke style swim.
    - The lifeguard "slow run" animation. Always cracks me up because it's so professional-looking, yet silly.

These are not new things but they are what drove me to want to come back to the game.

I just started a game, my sims was new in cooking career, barely scraping by, I was collecting everything for money, moon rocks included, and he got abducted and impregnate by aliens. Then to top it off his half-alien kid brought his imaginary friend to life. So now, he was a single dad with two kids. This was a most fun game I ever played and I had no idea that aliens could knock up male sims or that imaginary friends would be added as one of your children if they were made real. So many fun things happened in that game. I was working it into a legacy game playing the half alien. I was so heartbroken when my hard drive crashed and took everything out and all my backup CC that I spent forever tacking down the perfect items too.

Now and then that game crossed my mind and its what made me want to start all over again.

This may have been mentioned before and I know there have been comics made about this...but the stinkeye given during potty training. (I like it a bit better than the "angry poop" because if you know wee ones, they can be little terrors).
