@Writin_Reg so cute, I agree, I liked how pets had the "explore under" interaction, maybe toddlers could have something similar. A special hide interaction with floor length curtains would be very adorable as well.
General themes. Using produce to feed the toddlers-perhaps getting special learning abilities from meals with good nutritional value?
This reminds me of TS2 juice maker, I loved that one, but it was sad that the children couldn't use it. Would love to see the juice maker make a return with recipes that suits TS4 sims.
Some of the Sims 2 recipies:
Apple juice - faster homework
Orange juice - cures cold
Pepper punch - energy boost
Strawberry juice - clears furious a bit
Veggie cocktail - faster skill building
Okay first off I've been gone for awhile and thank you @greenXen !
Well I've made a thread of almost everything I've ever desired and hoped to improve family/younger and older lifestages. But I have had a few more ideas since i've been gone.
Now that my daughter is 9 months and son is 3, I've totally thought of more that would be whimsically cute and some that would totally benefit the life of a sim. Trying to remember them, but here's the basics of my thoughts:
Influence/Parenting System
Okay in my parenting system/ Influence idea, parents/guardians/etc could do more than just "bond" with their kids. They could actually raise their children in many terms than one Behaviorally and academically, and social habits. Theoretically, It would feel like a big hybrid of the old "encouragement" interactions infused with the old pet's teachings. Good, Bad, Explore/Adventurous,Smart/Advanced would be the stepping stone for these. Parents/families would start their adventures with toddlers, teaching these little ones at the start their values, like being polite to others, using your "indoor voice" in the house, allowing them to help tidy the house, or even help bake cookies, are just some examples that would influence your child to be a good little angel. Little angels almost always ask their parents if they can help clean and never keep a messy toddler bed. Their toys are almost never on the floor and they enjoy being the positive talk of their parents. While letting your child run amok and feel as if she/he is ruler of the house, then you'd obviously have a little monster on your hands. Little monsters would be a the biggest challenge for sim families, as they run, climb, and throw/break objects, they also enjoy pulling hair and showing the big sims whose boss! So watch out!! The Little adventurer would be pretty fun, as this toddler behavior would increase the need to explore. Now this isn't just a term of the toddler just randomly walking around the house,no. This little one would actually explore the couch and whatever he finds is defiantly going in his pocket (or in his toy chest lol), could you imagine the look on your sim families faces after finding mom's old pearls, dad's lucky tie, big brother's favorite football, big sister's ballet slippers, grandpa's broken pocket watch, all in this little explorers toy trunk? Why would he do it? Simple! No different from us, these little ones just want to know what all these things do, which would allow yet another parenting interaction for the parents to explain the objects to the child. This in return would add towards adventurous trait, while giving them experience in the garden and showing them different rocks influence gathering. Educating them with coloring books, a educational program, number charts, etc would not only increase logic and creativity, it would also give access of choice to gain the genius, creative, bookworm or loves music trait and making them little Einsteins. Little Einsteins are advanced learners and excel in the education part of preschool. learning numbers and letters (which help the logic skill) are a breeze. Coloring books would also prove to be quite easy and rewarding as it help gains the creativity skill. Parents can also help along and join in with their toddler in coloring, this would help them understand more and therefore fasten the skill speed gain. Continuing that road would gain access to the choice of gaining the loves art trait. Lastly the baby drums would also help in gaining creativity as well as the "music lover" trait.
Now as I said above about preschool, yes, your toddler has the "option" to go to preschool!
Now preschool is similar to the elementary/high-schooling system, however I've changed it just a bit. For one thing, your little ones learn actual Skills while at preschool. And most importantly, they have two types of grades xDD. This is an example from my thread:
Instead of the "grades" they'll soon learn to love/hate as children, Preschool grades are determined by the teacher's day review note home. The review will be divided, one part for educational and the other behavior.
Educational Review
Brilliant: "You daughter Emily is phenomenal in school! She's learning things at a very high pace. Might I suggest a gifted school?"
Excellent Review: "Emily is doing very well in school, with a little more teachings, she could excel beyond highschool!"
Good Review: "Emily has certainly improved. She's finally getting better at coloring in those lines! Perhaps she
Okay: "Emily is learning things at a fairly normal pace. Remember every child learns at a different pace, so we'll work to help her understand."
Bad: "Emily is having a tough time learning things. We'll try to teach her, but as her parents/family, we hope you do your part too!"
Awful: "Emily has very tough time learning anything. We desperately need her family to help out in her educational development."
Behavior Review
Brilliant: "Your toddler is outstanding in class! She sits quietly during storytime and she always shares her toys with the other children, A true little angel! "
Excellent: "I'm quite surprised with your Toddler! She's the only child in my class who actually wants to help me pass out the baby carrots around the class!"
Good: "Emily is doing very well, she's starting to learn how to be patient, and that she can't always have her way. I'm glad we're making progress."
Okay: "Emily has started to listen to us. However sometimes she doesn't. Her family needs to help teach her more manners"
Bad: "Emily is becoming quite a burden of the class. She's doesn't like to share at all and refuses to listen to us."
Awful: "Your child is a Little Monster!! We have no idea how to handle her! Not only doesn't she listen to us, she also causes havoc among the preschool, breaking everything (which we hope you'll be paying for!!) and putting play-doe in her classmates hair. Get Help or The Social Worker!"
(^please note: that last pharse is meant to be only a world play, but it would be funny if that happened in game xD)
So really your child could be as sweet as an angel yet she might not understand (in other words has a hard time with skills or understanding).
Or could be a total genius, yet terrorize his classmates and the classroom's things (which as said above xD might be coming out of your funds lol).
It's a bit late right now, so that's all I can post xD but I'll be back lol.
I would love seing the photography skill enhanced with toddlers. I tend to decorate my home with family pictures and it would be lovely to be able to take photos of toddlers as well and preferably also group pictures of toddlers with other Sims of the household of all ages.
I also would love seing parents reading their toddlers to sleep on their lap befor putting them into their crib.
Also love the idea of toddlers hiding behind curtains or perhaps doors or in the closet that came with Get Together.
Now now EA, don't be stinking up our lovely lavender bath with your shopping fart. - My TS4 mods - Gallery ID: 83bienchen
I mentioned the colouring table in my last post. It would also be cool if we could hang their erm 'artwork' on cupboards and things like we can when kids do drawings. Also for an idea if they are given a colouring table maybe toddlers with a mischievous trait could take the crayons and draw on the walls
Yes, I want brats.
Some ideas for different traits.
Happy trait - Laugh at almost everything. Dances and plays a lot. Learns quickly.
Mischievous trait - Throws food, splashes parents in the bath, annoys other toddlers, draws on walls, more likely to ignore parents when being taught new things, splashes in the toilet, kicks over potty.
Introvert trait - Cries when meeting new Sims. Doesn't like the company of other toddlers.
Angry trait - Cries a lot more often, throws food and toys and fights with other toddlers.
You could really have a field day with traits and emotions when it comes to them.
These sound great! I'd be tempted to give all my toddlers the happy trait. My rl daughter would have that AND the mischievous trait. Sounds just like her. XD
Im really in love with theses Ideas its like you all are reading my mind XD but Id like them to have a toy car that they can sit and ride on that be soo cute !! and have a pipe (Dummie) when they are going to sleep or anytime :3 and a good set of cute clothes and hair bows and stuff naww this is getting me all excited I hope that we will get alot of theses stuff in with the toddlers I have a good feeling about this one for sure!! o:)

I saw 'pipe' and thought 'whaaaaat?' Glad you said Dummy/ie. That's a word I haven't heard in FORVER. Totally off topic but I had mine until I was about 7. I would sneak it into school in my sock haha.
Sorry, I know that's controversial... but one would be optional and the other is a random thing.
No, thank you. How are either of those things fun?
I hope that toddlers would be included in story time. That is one of my favourite animations from TS4, where an adult can read a story and the kids will gather round, sit on the sofa/chairs/kneel on the floor. It would be great if the toddlers could sit amongst them or on the adults lap.
I think they should have really really cute clothes and instead of them having an actual phone or tablet I think they should have a play one like this:
And things like bath toys those sorts of things would be a nice addition and like cute little play sets with the characters from the kids tv channel like this
And cute outdoor toys for the toddlers would be nice as well sorry if the pictures huge I'm using my phone
@Loanet that's not really a suggestion for toddlers given that it's before the baby arrives. Perhaps you could start a thread in ideas section for that?

This thread is awesome. I love so many of these ideas. Thank you @SimGuruDrake for stopping by and telling me to come check it out. It was a super fun read for a Friday afternoon. And you all have literally the BEST images.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but separation anxiety is HUGE for toddlers. I used to love the TS2 thing where the toddler would "follow" their favorite adult around the house. But in TS4, with emotions now, the toddler could also (randomly, not all the time) get a sad moodlet if they can't see one of their parents.
Also, can we have stair gates, please!? And also crafty toddlers that can break through them and climb the stairs anyway? (I totally see toddlers having a mischief skill.) This was literally my son's favorite thing to do at that age!

Eheh...Definitely tie that in with cribclimbers too (Again, yes, I was one of those.)
I was also one of those that had a 'harness' as a child. Unlike the cute ones with monkeys and soft fabric today though, mine was the usual plain one that....Admit, Mom! It was a leash!...LOL
I have no memory of this place. Time to start anew I guess
--Toddler fashion in the past has been very bad. This is the only age group where CC was mandatory in my game. Please, include some normal looking clothes this time around.
Bedroom Sets - personally not a fan of toddlers in cribs. I think they should be able to use any bed in the game. But here are some cute ideas for bedroom sets just for them.
I loved the idea for hide and seek would be cool if they could program it into things like the closet.. not sure about that bush.. eww. Maybe..
I was thinking the other day I'd love it if they had an imaginary world they could visit.. toddlers or children. There could be some entrance in the home (like the closet or something new) that takes them to a hidden lot. Personally I'd like for time to stand still there, but doubt they would do that. Wouldn't mind if it could be both happy or scary(ish). There are so many stories like that.

Ooooh! The wardrobe to Narnia! Spare oom ---->
I love that, for Children. Hide and seek seems "old" for toddlers, though. I guess a lot of people in this thread are also thinking "preschooler"/"nursery-school age" when they're looking at this age group? I've been thinking more starting to walk (12-18 months) to about 2 and a half or 3.

Technically, toddler age range is 1-4. So I think anything happening in that age range is acceptable. My kiddos have loved playing hide and seek, tag, and ring around the Rosie since they were about 2.
Also...my sons version of ring around the Rosie:
Ring around the Rosie
Popper pops a posie
Crashes, crashes
We all fall down
can we have little superhero clothing too. like batman batgirl superman supergirl wonderwomen tmnt transformers stuff like that but sim versions for the wittle toddlers. or have those cute little animal/monster hoodies
