My child sim was very sad from the death of his father and I had him draw an animal picture at the drawing table. He drew a very rough outline instead of the detailed pictures he'd drawn before and I thought that was strange. A few days later, when he was happy, I had him again drawing an animal picture and he drew the same picture but much much more detailed. I thought it was nice to show the emotions effecting him like that and a good expression of how sadness can make you lacklustre and not put as much effort into things. A nice little touch.
I can't post pics yet but I'll put the link here without the http and you can put it back in for yourself to take a look if you want :)
Just found out that there are animated woodpeckers on trees in Granite Falls. Kind of a cool touch.
That's cool. I like the ducks that swim around. Of course they look like electric toys swimming, but they are still cook and I like how they quack.
All the sound in Granite Falls is the best.

Some people say the emotions in this game are gimmicks. I was afraid of that before playing the game too, but they are not at all. I keep finding more and more stuff everyday. You just need to keep an open eye closely.
Did you know that when your sim becomes uncomfortable due to "Sore Back Moodlet" because using a cheap bed you can actually see them having a sore back? the sim keep stretching their arms backward just like we do when we have back pain. the detail is very nice.
Yes! This! And also when they are bored, they will kick or shuffle their legs.
Child sims who have the mischief skill can plan pranks to do with their friends when they're at school. I think teens may be able to as well, not too sure

Adults can plan pranks too, but at work. And they can pull off different pranks depending on their jobs. For example, if one of them works in the Secret Agent career, they can "Make all invisible ink visible". However, bringing a llama to work and covering everything in bacon are standard pranks for all careers.
Also, as far as I know there aren't any special pranks for the active careers from GTW.
I found out only if you have get to work, if you have the satellite dish that was invented from science career on your home lot that you get a new channel on the TV. It's an alien station.
I just noticed the other day that one of the shows on the alien channel is the alien version of 'Married...With Children'. I LOLed
An Alien Sim's Disguise can vary from more than one different look. As in, they could have 5 different skin tones, eye and hair colours etc. for 5 different attires. With Alien's, their disguises can practically be created like completely different Sims.

Wow I didn't know that, that's so cool!
Wow. It never would have occurred to me to check for different skin tones etc.!

When they cook angry they slap down hard with the spatula at least with fruit.. I'm guessing though with meat ect. They also roll their eyes and look .. well mad. Also when you grill the smoke drifts up becoming more or less "smokey". Nice touch.

The Sims 4 actually has heaps of NPC's, it's just weird they overlooked the major ones:
Maids
Pizza
Mailmen
Gardener (there are actually two types. One will be around community gardens watering, the other type clean up parks)
Librarian (they put books back when Sims leave them around, and basically keep the library looking nice)
Mixologist/Bartender
Entertainer
Fitness Trainer
Curator
BONUS: There is actually a Repairman in the game, but you have to use a cheat.

Ranger
Bear
Hermit

Aliens
Police (I have seen one or two police walking around Magnolia Promenade near the Pier and Gardens near the chess tables).
Doctor (They will also walk around, occasionally. I had a Doctor check for fever on my Sim, when I was trying to get with him x)
Still hoping for Fireman (despite Sprinklers actually being better, mainly for ambience), Burglars and Butlers soon
I posted this in another thread "little things" but it fits here also!
When kids are playful they will taste the contents of the fountain that came with the luxury pack. (they use their fingers and get very playful)
Mischievous Sims can add stuff to the fountain that can make other Sims who drink it act "drunk". If Sims eat strawberries from a "tainted" chocolate fountain it may make some Sims sick or dazed.
Playful kids will autonomously dance with a manikin without music.
Mean, hot headed kids can make siblings sad and a parent can then comfort the child. Parents may get an angry moodlet about the smashed doll house. (they have to see the child smash it)
Parents have the interaction that deals with a child's bad behavior. I forget exactly what it is. It's not always available.
So apparently if you leave trash outside and don't clean it up... you get a trash plant. And it grows fruit that look like little black trash bags..
Normally I do clean it up, but that was a weird spot. I fixed my fridge (other side of the wall) and it deposited the spare parts outside and I didn't notice it until I had plants. ._.
Also... Insane sims talk to themselves... but they also talk to their friends. Even when their friend is an end table. I've also seen them talk to a lamp.
Funny coming across this thread tonight. I was enjoying a bit of sims in a cage play tonight, locking sims down in the basement to do their own thing with zero access to outside. I started with visiting sims, but they would just stand around, wave goodbye, or sleep on the couch. So I moved a few in, and have been enjoying some sims drama while my main household continues with their daily lives. It is rather fun.
However, I digress. One thing I discovered from this is refrigerators on the same lot share the same dishes that are stored in them. You can actually use two fridges to work as dumb waiters to serve food from one end of the house to the other. My captive sims haven't bothered using the stove or preparing anything once I got my top-skilled cook of the house to just make dishes and save them in the fridge upstairs.
I may reverse things, and just keep a captive cook in the basement. Won't need such a big kitchen upstairs.

I love lamp. With that outfit she does look like she is fresh from a mental asylum.
Sims close to another Sim with whom they have a romantic relationship will get a hidden Moodlet saying "Near Romance" or "Near Partner". I'm guessing this makes them use romantic interactions on their own and I guess Sims only get jealous when they have that moodlet while witnessing cheating.
Maybe in those reported cases where Sims don't react to affairs they don't recognize that the other sim is their partner (because of the absence of the moodlet).
