There was a Sims Graveyard for sites that had "gone under" in the days of Sims 2. If you can find Nouk's hair, she made some wonderful meshes for both male and female that I have in my Sims 2.

Nouk? I've seen this name around a lot - I think I'm just going to do a Google search specifically for her!

Thanks a lot. If anyone else knows anything more it would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the link to Nouk's page one MTS. Spring4Sims and Garden of Shadows also had great TS2 stuff as well. <3

Hi all. Just been busy with real life. Also I lost one of my babies (Juliet-aka parakeet). But I'm doing okay and I know she's not in pain anymore.

My gosh a new world, but no word on toddlers! GRRRR

Aww so sorry about the loss of your bird. I'm just getting worried my dog isn't doing well. He's 13 now and his quality of life isn't too good. He sleeps a lot and it hurts him to move. I don't know if he will make it past a year or not. Vet said three years, but I really don't know. But yeah it is sad losing pets because they are like family members to us.

My condolences to the loss of your feather-baby, @Puddinroy . /hugs

I've applied for the penguin party place, so here's to hoping that I get approved soon. I feel like once I get into there, I'll uh...slowly drop away from here forever.

    I'm sorry Puddinroy, it's a terrible thing to lose a pet :(

I got the "Thanks for sticking with us for 6 years".
I've been playing sims since 2000? Guess they just started counting the years when we moved to sims 3.

I really need a new game to play, I'm bored :p I looked up GOG for the "2015 drm-free summer sale" and saw some adventure games that I haven't played. But it's not the same feeling to download a game. And what's this new thing, buying chapters, why? I want a whole game at once.
Maybe I'm little old fashioned but I really enjoyed going to a game shop, looking around the colorful boxes and pick a game. And on my way home I bought some candy or cakes and felt excited and in a festive mood.

Is it me who observe in this forum that anyone who berates TS4 gets ridiculously high amount of Likes and Lols? While those who gives praise to TS4 on certain aspects will be lectured and judged?

Or is it a wrong observation of mine?

I'm feeling this is what is going on for few months here :/

There was a point where I would say that this happens equally on both "sides," but I do agree that the balance has shifted. Some staunch defenders of TS4 have moved to the other side of the fence, others have left the forum, and there are only a few brave or unaware of the tension enough to voice their opinion.

Those in this thread who are frustrated at TS4 have said time and time again that they respect others' opinions and will not begrudge people who like the game. I find this to be true, and very few fights have ever broken out here, if any. This thread is for all the reasonable people.

I think what is happening outside of this thread is that people who are disappointed in the game still feel the scars of all the times the trolls baited them and the times people have told them to "just deal with it or leave." So when they see people saying "TS4 is doing great," they are on their guard, because in the past, it started off as "I like TS4" and then escalated to personal attacks. People don't forget very easily. There are probably also people who feel very strongly about the game and want to suggest improvements, so any opposition is viewed as an attack. After all, we are all strangers to each other, in a sense. We don't know what's going on at the other side of the screen, so sometimes a phrase might be misconstrued as something more hostile than it is. And finally, maybe there's a fear that if enough people say the game is perfect or doing great, then EA will just ignore those who are disappointed, and thus none of their concerns will ever be addressed. We are all very passionate about the franchise, and with passion comes emotions, raw human emotions that can hurt when coming into contact with others' emotions.

These are all my observations and conjectures, and I'm likely to be very wrong, so take it with a grain of salt.

I personally do not care if you want to marry TS4 and have its babies or if you want to set it on fire and cackle as it melts into goo. The game is what it is, and I am always keeping my eye on it to see if it ever changes, if it improves or gets worse or whatever. Other people's feelings about it do not matter to me except as reading material, as insights to the people behind the screens.

What I care about is how EA treats us. I do not think it is too much to ask for them to give us at least a ballpark estimate of how they think this franchise is going to go, what direction it'll take. I would dearly love to know what the "vision" is. It's never really clear. And I am getting very weary of the silence, of the attempts to distract us with shiny things that never go below the surface. I'm tired of Gurus being forbidden to interact with us and address our concerns.

Back to your concerns, I think the level of likes and LOLs is indicative of the general atmosphere relating to this game. People are unhappy. People are frustrated. Maybe people should not be taking it out on each other but rather on EA, but EA is so inaccessible that they can't. I wish it were not so, but it is.

Anyway, I hope you'll be able to navigate the forum safely. If anyone tries to harm you or crosses the line, just report them, and let the forum mods do their job.

Woah i didnt expect TLDR reply to my statement but i really appreciate such direct honesty from you.

To me, i don't really care how others feel about TS4 in this forum. Currently, I am okay with it. Let me explain below:

    a) For the record, i am a rotational household simmer rather than generation household simmer since TS1. I don't enjoy having a household expanding down to 30 generations. At most i only had 4~5 generation down and after that, i just stop there or evict them out. Think about SimCity. I like to have a populated town like SimCity with variety of households in it. Guess i like to have an equilibrium in there.

    b) TS4 has beautiful background and graphics compare to TS3 and TS2. I hope TS4 will have more neighborhoods in future - and vibrant ones. I don't know about guys here but TS3 graphics is just awful to me now....no offense though to those TS3 simmers here. Newcrest is coming out and although it is a hybrid of Willow Creek and Magnolia Promenade, i'm contented with it.

    c) The absence of swimming pool and hot tub did upset me earlier but they added free patch for swimming pool later so i guess i am happy with it for now. Hot tubs may be added on later but who knows.

    d) Toddlers...i'm not a big fan of toddlers. I know majority of simmers here are but i'm not. I am more excited having teens and children around in the neighborhood.

    e) Gameplay wise is so-so to me. I guess TS2 has the best gameplay so far to me. But TS4 is still playable and i have no issues with it.

As for every above point mentioned, all the disappointments did not strike at me directly. Or rather the lack of contents in TS4 did not directly affect my own game playability. I know they headshot directly on many faithful simmers out there but it is between them and EA. I'm normally out of the heat zone when there is a rant against EA.

Overall, i find TS4 needs a lot of improvement. At this point now, i am still satisfied with it but may be not for long until i get bored with it.

I am a gracious simmer. I give EA a chance to improve this game until end of this year. Otherwise, if i may stop simming TS4 completely in near future.

*nods* I can understand all those points. A lot of it really does come down to opinion, and it is true that each person has a different play style. I can definitely agree with you that TS4 runs more smoothly than TS3, on my computer at least. And yeah, I have a short attention span when it comes to generational play, and sometimes I do miss rotational play.

I really tried to enjoy TS4 without thinking about TS3 features. I had already expected the transitional period to be hard, just like it was hard to transition to TS3 from TS2. No more want/fear system? No more headmaster and gardener? No more scored date/party system? It was rough. But eventually I grew to love TS3 for what it is (although I will admit that I had to use a lot of Nraas mods to get there). Story progression made up for a lot of things for me, once I found a mod that actually made it work properly.

But TS4, like you said, needs a lot of improvement. Alright, so there's no story progression and no open world. I can live with that, if it offered something else that's enjoyable. I thought the emotions system would be the enjoyable thing, but so far it doesn't do anything for me except annoy me. Build mode and CAS are wonderful, but I still wish for a color wheel of some sort. I think what really limits the game for me is the linear goals. I don't like having to do A, B, and C to get promoted; I miss TS3's metrics and progress bar. I cannot imagine playing comedian sim after comedian sim without pulling my hair out at the repetitiveness of having to write X number of jokes and perform them Y number of times.

There is a way in which I feel like...once you do every single aspiration/career for TS4...what's left? It makes me feel claustrophobic. Like there's a finite amount of things you can do, and then you're done, you've "won" the game, just like you've won all the Pokemon battles on your Gameboy.

TS2 and TS3 have replay value, IMO. TS2's sims have a lot of personality as individuals, and you'll always get someone that'll surprise you with their actions. TS3 has a town that grows, and for me I like to see it grow and see how families mix together; TS3 is a big-picture game.

GAH! I'm sorry. I'm cursed with an inability to be concise DX shutting up now *goes back to my cave*

    @klch87
I'm glad you like it as it is, I wish that was me ;)

As OP let me explain my position-I really don't care whether someone is in love with TS4 all the way through to hate it-it should make no difference to whether we get on well socialising because I respect people's differences and enjoy living vicariously through simmers like you! I own TS4 but in its current state is not enjoyable for my flavour of family play. I bought it because I had faith in the team and I set up this thread to try to show EA clear feedback and show them people genuinely love family play, and because I felt we needed answers :)

I've spent months telling people to give the devs a chance, that we should believe 'We are listening'. However after the Kotaku interview where Rachel Franklin recycled the same excuses and said they were only 'exploring' adding toddlers I lost my faith in them. I bought into their claims that the base wasn't finished due to time pressures and I expected them to get on and finish once those were gone. It's looking increasingly like that's not going to happen. Let me add here that all I want to know is if they *ever* intend on providing for my flavour of family play. So as it stands im out a lot of money from my faith in the developers perhaps being misplaced-and as a fifteen year veteran of The Sims series that hurts me a great deal.

I run this thread to get away from the nasty behaviour elsewhere-my participants here know I work hard behind the scenes to mediate any issues and we try to avoid silly behaviour that plagues the rest of the forum because all I ask here is that you respect each other even if you disagree. No one has a perfect approach, we all have subjective opinions and it's not anyone else's place to judge the behaviour of others in relation to how they feel about the game :)

I, like you, have been a victim of some truly nasty abuse, but just because I'm disappointed. To be honest I think it's rather even on that between the different opinions-but when I see it I try to stop it-if someone who likes the game is being chewed out I step in and try to cool things the same as I would with those who don't. I don't believe anyone should be abused here at all, it's unacceptable. If you ever need to vent I'm always available on pm and I will always do my best to help anyone-that's how ive got to know a lot of the participants here :) I have friends from those who feel all sorts of ways about TS4-to shut that down due to the standard forum discrimination would be to miss out on some wonderful people-and above all we are all simmers so of course have the best taste ;)

    @sparkfairy1
Haha. Thanks for the concern but i have never been a victim of verbal abuse in this forum or any other game forum up until now. Never wanted to be one.

I find it an utter nonsense trash-talking with someone else in the internet over something regardless whether it is about TS4, pokemon, pc games, religion, politics, etc etc. The reason is that people don't want to be wrong and they like to be right over something they believe in.

Coming back to TS4, when i first joined this forum, i was very active in the Ideas Corner category since i like TS4, along with other simmers. We exchanged ideas, giving own opinions about new EPs, what can be improved and so on. Then i saw the awful truth when i ventured in the Feedback category where i found overwhelming negativity about TS4. Too many rants and criticism from trolls and veteran simmers alike. From here on I started to distance myself from these posts. I can't and will never be able to convince others over something they feel very strongly about. So I may as well join in other TS4 posts which have the same frequency as mine.

I had my own fair share of bad video games but i did not share it out or convince other gamers how bad they were. Mainly because i have empathy towards other gamers. If i don't like it, may as well shut up and let others enjoy it. If i like it, i share the joy with others. If i feel that the game needs to be improvised, i share it out in a constructive manner. Probably this was taught during my upbringing and also from my religion.

Then again, we have to bear in mind that EA was awarded as "Worst Company in America" before. So it shouldn't be a total shock if that game comes out undesirable. What i am saying here is that it is a risk to purchase a game from them, regardless of how much faith you put in them since they have that black mark already.

So if other sincere simmers rant, berate, venting out about how bad EA is towards TS4, my sympathy goes to them and I hope that EA will change their mentality and take their customers seriously. Personally, time will tell if TS4 is sustainable or not. I cannot tell.

However, thanks for listening to me here and giving me the "permission" to voice out undesirable thoughts about TS4, should i find it a total wreck

Hi all, am back with that update I was telling you about it has been so much fun playing my household! Really getting into now, and when Katrina ages up she will be starting generation 3! :)

A lot has happened in my game and posting it all would take ages, but this part of the storyline was started by Linda. lol

Anyways I will start with all the teens. They all had either their prom or recitals and were over at the school. 6 of the teens were having a great time, and the triplets Matthew, Linda and Kelly were not having the best time at prom. But Kelly ended up prom queen and Matthew prom king so it wasn't all bad. But they all stayed out after curfew and the police came to round them up.
Nicole was waiting for all of them, and after the police dropped them off Nicole let loose and scolded them one by one.
    screenshot_original.jpg
    screenshot_original.jpg
    screenshot_original.jpg

The last to be scolded was Linda, she looked at her mother like she was yelling at her for no reason and straight away Linda's mind was at work. Her in trouble? No way! She wasn't going to let it rest and she begged for forgiveness straight away.
    screenshot_original.jpg
    screenshot_original.jpg
Nicole let her off the hook! haha that was quick a whole 30 seconds!

I was thinking, geez Nicole must be in a good mood because she never lets them off the hook straight away so I thought I would try my luck with the rest of the teens, then this happens.
Kelly comes up next, and Nicole lets her off too,
    screenshot_original.jpg
Then her grandson Trent gives it a go and sure enough Nicole lets him off too!
    screenshot_original.jpg

Matthew is like, OMG she is on a roll and has his turn at getting off the hook so quickly after been grounded. lol
And sure enough, she lets him off the hook too. But Trent and Kelly didn't like that fact everyone was let off, they thought they were special and got jealous. lol
    screenshot_original.jpg
    screenshot_original.jpg

Katrina tries too, she isn't going to pass up her Nan's soft side! And Nicole lets her off the hook too, but Trent isn't liking this at all and his jealousy starts to shine through.
    screenshot_original.jpg

David is the last to beg for forgiveness, with Trent still standing there with his sister both of them upset that Nicole let the rest of her children off. lol
    screenshot_original.jpg
Nicole thinks they are been unfair, standing there getting all negative. But all 6 teens were let off the hook straight after been grounded. lol
    screenshot_original.jpg

The update is huge and heaps has happened so will quickly write it to update everyone. :)

The triplets aged up to YA and graduated and have moved out. The twins Shane and Sharna are now children and Trent is about to age to YA himself. :) Nicole and Brent are going to Egypt for an adventure before they have more kids and become elders while Katrina is next to carry on the legacy for the Jesphons. :)

Hope you like the update. It was really amusing watching this scenario play out, and hope you enjoyed it. :)

Simcity 13 really isn't that good. In all honesty it's missing quite a lot. We didn't even get agriculture back, there is way less variety in what you can do. No mini games in this version like there has always been. Equally the content is slow and it wasn't coming out good enough. Actually felt upset i couldn't build and shape the terrain. Equally because it was drm the worst thing to it was there was no modding community built for it anymore and EA never embraced one which made the game all too horrible.

I really think you should give City Skylines a chance Terrylin as they've had a huge expansion type update worth of free content. The workshop is loaded with a ton of mods. Even an old simcity developer is on there making content for that game. The dev team is just preparted to give their max to what the consumers want i think your opinion of it might change as you get the hang of playing the game a little bit more.

All right I am giving Cities: Skylines a chance!! I just bought it for $14.00 on a site i googled ;) and am downloading it!! :) Half price so works for me!! :p

EA/Maxis keeps up with the lack of communication about toddlers or future improvements that reflect our feedback, more are going to find other companies and games to play!! Steam is redoing their return policy and making improvements all the time. Origin just heavy hands you and your game, my way or the highway mentality!! :/

Edit to remove urm,,,I guess competition that shouldn't be mentioned here! :o Anywhooo just googled CS and the cheapest is where I found it! :p Thanks for the warning @elanorbreton :)
