I really hate the in app purchase games. While some of them are decent and can be played without purchasing anything, many have really gotten out of hand. I don't mind in app purchases that enhance a game, but not ones that have to be bought in order to continue. And I don't mind trial games that you can upgrade to a full version by in app purchase. But I much rather pay up front than be nickeled and dimed!

That was one of the, several, things that annoyed me about Facebook 'games' and similar online apps. They weren't really games in the sense that I understand them. They were just ways of promoting advertising by spamming all your friends and clocking up millions of hits; and playing them was practically impossible without spending real money - not to add something new to the experience but just to enable you to complete it. And what if you decided that your strategy was faulty, or you simply wanted to play a different scenario? Could you scratch everything and start over? At least in real games the DLC you spent money on is still there to use as often as you want it.

Mostly I hated the fact that there was no challenge, all I was doing was collecting pointless stuff to win nothing but more pointless stuff! :rage:

@ZeeGee, you are most welcome :)

Good points. I never thought about restarting a Farmville farm when I played that. And while I might fault EA for a lot of things, at least their added content actually adds quite a bit to the game every time a player decides to buy some.

Thanks for the links @Me1620. I have read ciane's post (had it in my favorites) but not the other two. I guess I had better get started.

To those I sent a little something to, I am glad you enjoyed your gifts. I am celebrating my six year sims 3 anniversary. I got the badge yesterday. :) I can not believe it has been that long already.

I hope adds are plentiful for everyone!

Six years! OMG! I only discovered the game last year!

Well, its my birthday again. Had to "suffer" this morning through my GF spamming my Steam account with <3s and other romantic cheesy stuff. Dear god why..

One of Re-Logic's developers even changed his avatar to a party hat version for the occasion :p

Gonna go out places today, possibly look into a new computer so I can resume my Sims 3 stories, some people are itching for me to continue them.

This question is for those of you who use the Now and Then Century Manor. Do you ever place the "Now" manor, or do you always use "Then"?

    You're so welcome @stephenhamburg!

It was my intention, when visiting your wishlist, to gift you a world or a venue. When I didn't find either...well, you saw what happened. :p

Did you buy your copy of the late night expansion on origin? If you did you got the casino free because of it, or it could just be a glitch in your favour. And as @me1620 said check the up the ante compilation, it should come up free now that you got the casino (if the casino went into your purchase history properly).

I did get LN from Origin, so I guess that's why I got casino for free. But it's not showing up in my purchase history and ante compilation isn't free. I remember having trouble a few months ago with another set I was supposed to get free. The code wouldn't work. I chatted with an EA rep for awhile and didn't get anywhere. He wanted me to uninstall and reinstall my expansion pack (I think it was IP?). I kept telling him it had nothing to do with uninstalling the game, it was a store item that I wanted to show on my purchases!

Has anyone else ever been successful with getting something moved to the purchase history?

a few times yes.. 1 time it was BB (as it disapear when they added the complete BB... and I needed to reinstal) and do to a glich in the store they added the gothic sets atleast 3 times :unamused: / given me the points to buy it again..... same thing have been done with a few items.... simply becouse I could aces them in my purcages history BUT that didn't work (not even for them) it keept closing down before I found the item, and the site demanded I buy it before I downloded it from it's page in the store.... glad they got that bug fixed for me.

if you have the venue on orgin they schould ad it...
if you get a bad CS guy like last time, just stop him and ask for his boss. if he don't even want to give you that ask for his name and work number, and writt EA an complaint that he dosn't know his job. remebr to get a transcript of the chat if posible.
There are some bad but also some good CS people out there....
here in Denmark the phone chat is the best..... the chat on computer is often outsorsed and they have no idea what they talking about (most of the time they also ask me to try and reinstal or start talking about spor... or say they don't give in game help.... when I needed help with the store)

good luck hope you get it added.

    Happy birthday @Devalaous !
    Happy anniversary @muminek85 !

@ZeeGee Thats how I got the casino. Once i downloaded it Up the Ante ended up free to but not before. You should see it as green if you have the casino as blue.

This question is for those of you who use the Now and Then Century Manor. Do you ever place the "Now" manor, or do you always use "Then"?

"Now" being decayed and "Then" being new?

I wanted to use the decayed manor as a fixer-upper project, restore it to its former glory. However, there are objects I can't move and holes in the roof and so on that were too fiddly. I think I would be better off to use the good condition manor and make it look messed up (aged) without some of the MOO cheats that they must have used on it.

One thing that I did was to use the sliding bookcases in two spots to make secret passages. One spot is in the dining room, where there's a closet with a ladder. The other is in the bedroom next to the second floor of the library. I put the bookcase facing the bedroom side. (I haven't played that one for awhile, so I'm vague on the details.)

I actually created a challenge for the Now i should write it up exclusively and put it in the challenge thread but I've been playing it to see how feasible it is.

The Rehab Challenge is to place the Now on a lot of appropriate size int he world of your choice ( I have mine in hidden springs) place a solo living sim it can be one with skills it just has to be a solo sim with no higher that 6 on any skill. place them in the house with the free real estate button and then give them a starting amount of $50,000 which you must use to purchase real estate for income property until you can't. Then you need to use only that and any money earned from a passive profession to rehab the house to Then. My sim is a painter so she paints for extra income. So far I've updated about 60% of the house. I keep making tweaks to what the challenge rules should be so its harder to finish.

I love to see that house when it is done

can the sim marry down the road and get the family to take over as he/she gets older?

@Nonsequitorian I know six years. :open_mouth: You can thank my brother for bringing the sims (1) home. As to your manor question, I recently realized I did not have it installed. It was quite disappointing as the roof pieces make squares look attractive. I do look forward to the rehab idea, and playing it as a community lot haunted house.

Congratulations @CaySedaiSim. Now make sure all your content is installed. :)

Happy Birthday @Devalaous. I do hope you continue your stories.
