Texas is great! We're really friendly :innocent:

If you want to see cowboy stuff then you're gonna wanna go to towns and not the cities. But we do have cowboy shops and souvenirs ;)
    And I recommend the rodeos.

That's good to know :) I would not miss the rodeos for any reason, if I go to Texas I will most DEFINITELY spectate at least one.

What's in Colorado? I mean, it's not that I don't want to go there but is there something that would scream "Come visit Colorado for *insert reason here*"?

All in all, I'd like to go to USA no matter which state, I think I'd have a blast! To California!

Colorado has a certain plant that is legal here. B)

I'm not THAT into plants

I hear San Antonio has the best rodeo, so I recommend that one ;) It's once a year.
Also there's BBQ everywhere you go ...

As far as where to visit......close your eyes and put your finger on the map. It's a diverse and beautiful country.

I was raised in Pennsylvania....great skiing in winter, beautiful countryside in summer. Historic sites, antiquing and got to see Amish country...the food is amazing.

Lived in New England. Cape Cod, whale watching, beautiful scenery.

Lived in DC and Virginia......culture, the Smithsonian and of course all the sightseeing. Got to see the cherry blossoms in the spring.

Lived in S California....freaking all over fantasic and I miss it.

Live near Charleston SC now and it's a great place to visit. There are beaches...good food and lots of sightseeing. Just don't live here.

Las Vegas is phenominal. Got to visit there.

Here's the list US news put together.

I like it. I was also born here, never left so I guess I'm biased towards the question ;)

I'm an American who now lives in England. I love the open road of America, and all the scenery.

England is more relaxed I feel, people keep to themselves more and mind their own business. You don't have to worry about anyone on the street carrying a gun! And I actually love how much it rains here. But where the hell is the snow?

    "Meh."

I've been there several times in my life and I liked it- but, I don't think I'd like to live there, if I'm quite honest.

I much prefer Canada TBH. I've been there twice, yet, I really, really, really like Canada!

But, anyway, I've only seen Boston, Florida, New York, and Texas. I'd love to go there again and perhaps see all of California, and maybe Nevada as well- or Washington.
It's a nice place, but, as I said- I'm not sure if I'd be able to live there full-time. I'd try it, but, I don't think it'd work out.

I have been very fortunate in this life and have been in every state, save Alaska and Maine.

I loved life in the north/northeast. New York surprised me the most. NYC and the rest of NY state are two places entirely, with most of the rest of the state being agricultural with farmlands and cows. The people there, while friendly always seemed to be in a hurry. Everyone had places to go, things to do. Want a challenging experience, drive in downtown NYC. Washington DC has nothing compared to that. OMG. Don't try to order a 'southern food' there though. I got all excited one time when I saw 'chicken fried steak' on the menu. I ordered it, laughed my plum off in the restaurant when they brought it to me and said that was an authentic 'chicken fried steak'. I swear to the powers that be they brought a round chicken patty covered in brown gravy. What I liked the most though was that there were four seasons. There was snow in the winter that lasted for weeks/months at a time on the ground. There was spring/autumn and warm days of summer.

For the west coast, I liked the Oregon/Washington area. Lots of cool and rainy days. People were good, but not as friendly as they are on the east coast, but not all that bad either. Won't go back to California.

For the south, Texas. Love Texas, and it is where I currently live. @Heartfulpeach I would suggest Ft. Worth actually. Their downtown, is very old west themed still, it is not refereed to as Cowtown for nothing. Stockyards have rodeos and you will see people on horseback. Most of the roads there are the old-time brick. Though, hope can at least read spanish. A lot of the town/state is bi-lingual and billboards/signs are in spanish. Most stores will do announcements in both english and spanish. Churches will have spanish masses.

Hawaii is absolutely gorgeous. Loved the people, the culture. Very strong asian community. The Polynesian Cultural center is the bomb.

For the midwest, I loved Missouri the most ... even though I think there was the least to do there, lol. The people there were the some of the best, in an off-beat and odd kinda way. It has been a good hot minute since I was there, but I remember a lot of Native American stops ... and not like one of the mega casinos built on native land. Nebraska was kind of sheepishly boring. Most of the countryside there was flat, very green but very flat. Ohio was probably the best though, with things to do, somewhat helpful people, and great things to see.

They're okay, tbh. I know some people where I live who hate them but they're cool. I'd love to visit them some day.

Anyone from Florida? Is it nice over there?

I live in Florida. It is bizarre. All kinds of crazy things happen here (but crazy things also happen all over the world). But as nuts as it gets here, there are so many places to visit that will make you feel like you're in another world. The climate varies; it is mostly warm to ridiculously hot and it does get cold at times, and snow does happen but not very often. Theme parks are peppered throughout the state, so there's always somewhere to visit for entertainment. If you ever visit, don't limit your travels to just the major tourist cities like Orlando, Miami, and Tampa. I have lived here my entire life and I'm always finding a new place to visit.

As for what I think of the United States: Well, there are some beautiful areas in the country. We have good and bad people. Some think that we're the best in the world, but there are some of us that know that we're not the best in the world. I went to The Bahamas for the first time last year and that was an experience I'll always remember. The cruise ship I was on had people from many different countries. Most people were very nice and cordial but as always, there were a few bad apples. But my point is that from what I noticed in The Bahamas, people there were no different than the people in the United States. There were some friendly people and some arrogant people. I didn't let the arrogant people I encountered determine my view of another country because I know that not everyone is that way.

Texas sure sounds like a really nice place, like I imagined. And even better! Spanish is my native language and knowing that I can communicate in spanish makes me feel a little more at ease (I get anxious when speaking in another language like english)

Ooh nice. I'd like to visit when my health gets better and when I find a travel companion, hopefully a lovely boyfriend. :) If you want you could tell more about Florida or the place you live in.

    And...ok :)

I think it's usually thought of in an overwhelming positive or negative way- at least, each part (people may think of the people and the government separately when judging the U.S.).

I think it's the land of lazy, money hungry people at the top. They want what is best for them. There are still many people that are centered in their own world in the U.S. Like with...

-neoracisim- it still exists and is thriving, whether people ignore it or simply don't realize it.
-overly religious people that thrust their view on others (gay isn't right the bible says, for instance)
-selfish people that like to look at the good they do as if that makes up for the bad.

It's a land of propaganda, as I'm sure it is in many countries.

The thing is, when people hear about the U.S. In other countries, they probably hear the bad. Like that there is terrible health care here. Yes and no, I think it has to do with how big our country is and there is a lot of country. The cities and population are primarily on the coasts, and in Chicago.

It's a land of ideals and hope.

This sounds harsh, but this is what you hear and what is mostly true. I love where I live overall in wisconsin, but there are so many ignorant, unintelligent people it makes me sad I'm apart of humanity.

Of course this is looking at the country under a broad lense. Going about everyday life here is no problem at all. Could be so much worse. And I don't like many people, so there's that too...

I love The U.S. It's cheesy, but this country gave me freedom (I'm originally from a third world country, came here as a political refugee back in 2001.)

Well I love their Jazz culture. They have good sense of fashion and music. So much glamour. Bioshock made me love it even more.

I also grew fond of their Wild West culture. It all started when I played RDR

    But now, it's just "meh"
