Forest Spirits Not Appearing

This probably isn't the place to discuss this, as I'm fairly certain it's mod related, but since it's the most active part of the forum I figured I'd try here first.

So the forest spirits from the SE pack simply just haven't been showing up in my game, although when I played with my mods disabled, they did show up when I tested it, but it's a hard thing to to test for since the forest spirits are unpredictable anyway. I was wondering if anyone else had noticed this problem and if perhaps they might know what mod could be causing it. Just thought I'd ask before I go test everything in my game in case it was a common problem

EDIT: I seem to have resolved it for now, so someone can delete this thread if you feel so inclined.

I have no mods but the forest spirits did not appear when my Sims did a mountain excursion.

They show up for me when hiking but not every time. I think that's by design.
Never saw them on a mountain excursion. I didn't expect to though.
@permanentrose how did you resolve the issue?
