RUMOR - New Life Sim Game "People of the Newbery"

The other thread was closed so I couldn't post it there.

I found an interesting video today of another game dev showing how to make build mode be like how it is in the sims on Unreal Engine, the interesting thing, is that POtN (aka Yoo) messaged him so maybe it's possible he's going to get tips on how to do it or a tutorial or maybe even a collab project on it

To me this is very exciting!

And the message from Yoo was from 4 months ago, so to me that indicates that he is legitimately trying to make a "real" game. Now whether he will be successful or not, is still to be seen. But to me, it sort of proves that he's not out "just trying to scam people".

No, they didn't. They have renamed the game because they have added more developers to it. I get updates regarding the game's developments by supporting him on Patreon.

I'm not sure if it is or not, only time will tell. I donate $5 a month to his Patreon, so it's not like I'm going broke supporting him, that's literally like the cost of one cup of coffee at Starbucks per month, so yeah, he's not getting rich off of me. But I do enjoy seeing the game developments progress videos and reading what they're doing.

I thought it was a scam before and I think it's a scam now. They even deleted discord with no warning and totally rebranded and now it's a rp wsad game or something. Still showing shots from unreal engine store or whatever and other shady stuff I'm too lazy to list.

It seems it's no longer a life simulator.
Now it's a MMO RPG, maybe a competitor for Second Life

Oh yea. Not to forget he had people signing up for Beta testing and points for a sim game that was almost ready. Then rebranded and deleted stuff? So what happen to the game people were waiting to test? And those peoples money? And their points?

I think an alpha/beta is still planned in December

A game like Second Life is easy to develop, just they play premade animations on premade content.
The character is an empty shell, the player is the character, no AI.

That is the basis of all video games.

I was wondering about this game. It seems as though it was decided that it was not legit? I remember trying to find more information about this last month and there was hardly anything.

AyoAce Sims did some videos of this "game", it's not playable yet.

Here's what I find suspicious: They deleted all traces of themselves online. No YouTube channel, no Twitter account, no nothing. Then they rebranded under a new name.
They have already developed footage, but they don't have any development footage.
Also, the people look suspiciously similar to the Second Life models.
Sorry but I think this is a scam.
