1. Yes, you should always back up all your Sims 3 content. Just in case.
2. I don't think there is a risk of them closing the Store anytime soon. I reckon we have at least a couple more years before it starts costing them more than it benefits.
.... Sims 2 had a store? I had no idea! Now, I'm sad I missed out on the store. Dangit.
Anyways, I suppose they'd close TS3 store in a few years give or take, however, I'd hope they'd make it to where we are still able to access our store inventory, because I think it'd be totally unfair to folks who own store items.
@Nomiko13 - The Sims 2 store was nothing like the Sims 3 store. The Sims 2 store had a few exclusive items but was mainly stocked with individual items that were available in the stuff packs.
I don't think the Store will be closing any time soon. The Sims 4 has, honestly, felt like a bust and they will probably recoup their losses by keeping The Sims 3 Store alive.
Probably a plum question, but how do you backup your store content? And can you backup mods, cc, and store content together?
Hi, nope, there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers!
My go-to thread for all things to do with the Store is the Daily Deal thread and, guess what, there's a very handy collection of links to help with this very question.
Basically, yes, you can/should back up all your Sims content together but you may want to keep a separate backup of mods and CC so you can control what you use if you want/have to reinstall your game.
Anyway, check out those links and don't worry about asking for help with anything (it can get confusing!). Good luck

@Me1620 So if you have Sims 2 UC you have most of the store content?
@Me1620 It does include all the stuff packs. Thanks fur that info. I always thought I'd missed out on all the store content, just assumed it was like Sims 3.
@ZeeGee - From what I remember of the Sims 2 store and if Sims 2 UC includes all the stuff packs, then you would have most of the store content.
The dangerous scissors are forever lost
That was my one fear. I stopped coming here a few years ago, just lost interest, and when I came back everything was different and I was so worried that EA'd taken away the website like they did in 2. Well, they kinda did but at least the store's up still!
@ZeeGee They were for some whacky deaths They could kill servos too. They didn't do anything other than when a sim/servo held them, they'd run, which scared others, and usually fall onto them which of course ended in death. The Sims 2 store had a baby mat and baby swing too. Lots of stuff lost
The Sims 2 store had different objects than what was in the stuff packs, including the infant playmat that we saw pictures of in the advertisement for Apartment Life. We were very disappointed to find that the object was not included in the EP. There were only about 50-60 items, mostly new hairs and furniture. Maybe a few more.
The only way to get the store stuff is to find someone with a file on the internet.
