Except for some trips to the park, Mira doesn't leave the penthouse very often - she has everything she can dream of on this roof. This Saturday, she spent the whole morning swimming and sliding with Tara and Lennart.
She really looks up to Tara, the confident and hard-working mother who is always so cool about everything.
While Tara and Kimi got some work done, Lennart played a few rounds of Don't Wake The Llama with Mira.
But after dinner, they all helped Mira with her school project that was due Monday.
Then Kimi put Mira to bed.
Usually it's one of the grandparents who do that, but Kimi tries to do it whenever she has time. She loves being a mom, but her career has taken such a leap that she can hardly get through her workload each day. But she doesn't want Mira to get too dependent on her grandparents, as they won't be around forever.
@Tomatplante Love your storyline, very interesting, I too play the first family I ever made. In sims 3 I started the A-Z generation and made it to Z 26 generations, I still play them. I have also recreated them is sims 4. I guess I am stuck on that family. Love playing the sims. Looks like you are having a great time with your family. I have gone back to the sims 3 and am still doing my same family.
@Evalen Thank you, I'm glad you like it You're right about me having a great time with them, and it's nice to hear you have a family you enjoy as well.
The family doesn't usually see much of Tara's brother, but he came over the other day for a family dinner.
Mira is in a picky eater phase and didn't like the lobster tortellini her grandmother had cooked, but she didn't make too much fuss about it. It was a really pleasant family dinner, which is a good thing - because it turned out to be the last one to include all of them.
So now the family is mourning their loss. The remaining family members have lost a beloved husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather. It's very hard for all of them, and Mira can't sleep the next few nights. She keeps waking up from nightmares, and every time she can't believe her beloved grandfather, who took so good care of her, is gone forever.
The oldest and youngest family member will have to comfort each other now, because Tara and Kimi will soon be busy with work again. "Don't worry Mira, we'll get through this."
Over at Mariana and Vetle's house, things are considerably more festive. It's birthday time, and the back yard is packed with family and friends to celebrate Maria becoming a teenager, and Vetle an adult.
Vetle is totally comfortable with getting older, seeing how much he's accomplished - especially family wise. His life has definitely turned out different than he expected, but in a good way.
When the guests had left, Ronja played a little birthday tune for Maria and Vetle in the living room.
Maria will still share a bedroom with her toddler sister. Although she's a little annoyed by it, she understands why it has to be that way. And she likes caring for her youngest sibling anyway.
The twins have become more independent, and are usually out and about on their own now. They love using the playgrounds around Oasis Springs, but they don't always remember to be home in time for curfew.
Mariana does not appreciate having the two of them waltz in late evening on a school night, when she's not even sure where they've been. "Tomorrow after school you'll both be grounded, I've had enough of these disappearing games!"
So the next day after school, they have to stay on the lot. Tony doesn't have a problem with that, he likes drawing in the living room or doing science experiments in the back yard. But Gabriella absolutely resents losing her freedom, and you better not get in her way when she's angry.
She'll destroy everything in her path.
She drives her parents crazy with her strong-willed, moody behavior. Family meals are rarely calm and pleasant.
But Mariana secretly loves observing her fierce young daughter taking every fight, knowing exactly what she wants. "That's my girl, she'll grow up strong and independent."
Little Victoria is about to become a child. She's practically grown up in her mother's bakery, and is eager to get to know other children when she starts school.
The family have a small birthday party for her at home, Mariana has baked lots of delicious cakes.
And here she is! She's an artistic child, and quite a little weirdo
YOU BET Mariana and Vetle are ready for life with more independent children who don't need constant care. Maybe they will now get to spend more time with each other?
Not to forget, Vetle has actually fathered six children. He hasn't had much time for Jerry, but he still enjoys visiting from time to time.
His siblings also enjoy spending time with him, especially the two oldest ones who are now also teens. Here they've invited him to join them for a bowling night, along with their teen neighbors Ylva and Isak plus Ronja's good friend Nile.
They had a fun night bowling, but Ronja was the only one who even remotely got the hang of it.
She and Nile have also been hanging out alone, and she likes him very much. Her unflirtyness keeps her from telling him straight up how she feels, but she hopes that their friendship will lead to something more eventually.
As opposed to her unflirty sister, Maria is a very romantic sim and has totally hit it off with her neighbor Isak.
They had their first kiss on her porch after he walked her home from the café.
Maria is pretty forward!
When she got inside the house, only Ronja and Vetle were still awake. Vetle chose to ignore his daughter's curfew violation this one time and just play a game of party frenzy instead.
Maria goes bowling again that evening, but this time only with Isak.
They don't really end up doing that much bowling.
The next day, Maria joins her mother in the bakery. She still enjoys helping out there, but instead of selling small items in the front yard, she has now taken an interest in baking.
Mariana won't allow her to contribute to the bakery until she has become a little more skilled at baking, so she's given Maria lots of books to read before she can try her skills in the kitchen.
Ever since Pri moved in, Mahatma has been acting even more grumpy and displeased with the family situation. Pri is trying to be nice to him, but he's completely cold towards her and certainly doesn't do an effort to include her in the family.
Albert is very frustrated by this, as he really wants Pri to feel like she belongs there so he can have a chance of marrying her one day. His relationship with his father has become even worse as a result of this conflict.
Pri and Nita are doing their best to negotiate and lighten up the atmosphere in the house, but it's not an easy task.
Mahatma is constantly grumpy, and doesn't even seem very interested in his own grandchildren.
This situation slowly affects Nita and Mahatma's relationship. Nita doesn't recognize her husband anymore now that they've reached their elder years and he is getting more and more distant and cold towards his family.
Every time she tries to confront him, he cuts her off and doesn't want to hear it. She's getting incredibly tired of it and can't shake the feeling that she doesn't enjoy her marriage anymore.
And one day, he's also had enough. He doesn't feel at home in this family with a wife he can't seem to communicate with anymore, a son he's developed a bitter and hostile relationship with and two grandchildren he doesn't feel connected to.
They both realize they can't keep this going. Such a shame, after all these years... but probably the best solution for the family as a whole.
Luckily, the grandchildren are happily unaware of the conflicts and hardly notice that their already distant grandfather disappears. They are toddlers now, happily playing together and exploring the large house.
Pri and Albert are in a great place, caring for their little ones together with some help from grandma and feeling like a proper family.
Jonatan has got to be one of the cutest toddlers ever. Look at him! He's very easy and cheerful, a dream child for busy parents.
Aurora is a bit more of a handful, she's very stubborn and tends to bite and throw tantrums. But she's adorable anyway!
Pri has started to work at a science lab, and so far enjoys it. She does mostly analyzing and brainstorming, and is eager to get promoted so she can really dive into inventing stuff. Her colleagues are nice, and the work tasks are varied enough to keep her from feeling bored.
She's especially interested in rocket science, and even though it's hard and dirty work she really enjoys doing rocket building. Maybe she'll get to travel with one eventually?
Lab hours are long and Pri is usually very tired when she gets home. When she has her nap on the couch, not even a toddler dance party can wake her up.
But dance parties have to end and little toddlers have to go to sleep. Jonatan is not happy about it, but Pri enjoys this time of the day as it's her quality time with the children. He'll lighten up when he gets his bedtime story.
Of course, Aurora had to have a diaper accident right at bedtime.
There's no other option than putting her in the bath tub. At least she likes bathing!
It's early morning in the Kalani family, a little earlier than Pri would have liked to be woken up. But apparently, little Jonatan had a nightmare again and does not intend to let his parents get their beauty rest.
About an hour of comforting and morning routine later, the whole family is having breakfast together. Pri is the only one going to work today, Albert and Nita are working from home and watching the kids.
Most of the day is spent in a kids' park nearby, where there are lots of other toddlers for the twins to play with. They cook dinner on the public grills there and stay until toddler bed time. Aurora and Jonatan really enjoy themselves!
When they get home, it's time for bedtime stories. Pri isn't home from work quite yet, she works until 7 pm.
After Pri gets home from work just in time to tuck in the kids, she and Albert wind down after a long day by playing some party frenzy and cuddling on the couch.
Nita has taken some cute photos of the kids playing in the garden, so their the wedding photo of Albert's grandparents has new companions on the wall now. What a nice little family they have!
The next day is a Saturday, and all of them have time off. They choose to spend the day in a science park in the partly abandoned part of Willow Creek, where there is an unfinished rocket ship for Pri to work on. The rest of the family prefers other activities.
"But dad, I only tried to make a painting! Like you do in the garden at home!" I guess the family aren't ready for Jonatan's artistic expressions just yet.

They both got promoted the same day, Tara to Community Manager and Kimi to Artist En Residence.
Kimi is getting really successful at painting. She has her own manager who helps her sell works for thousands of simoleons.
She also still practices her yoga and meditation regularly.

What a sad day. The whole family is devastated.

Victoria is an energetic little charmer who loves entertaining the rest of the family with her silly jokes and funny stories.
This Saturday, Mariana has decided to take her two teen daughters to a spa in San Myshuno and completely relax.
Pretty nice view to go with your massage!
Not that the two of others are very comfortable with yoga either, and following a class is easier said than done.
