    I’m having problems with my lifespan settings. I have it set to “long”, and the baby stage is set to 42 days, so it should be 168 days long, but I keep getting notifications about babies who were only born last (in-game) week aging up.

    (I still haven’t patched yet.)

    MC Command Center Hotfix 7.5.3 is out!

    @Deaderpool has released a third hotfix for MCCC for further compatibility with the Snowy Escape (1.68.156) patch.

    Hello! :)

    I apologize if this has already been brought up, but I didn't see it when I scrolled through the last couple of pages. I am new to the MCCC mod and I am trying to select the ancestral flag option. From my understanding, doing so will allow your sims to stay in the family tree (even after they pass away). Rather than starting to disappear when their ghosts fade (Please correct me if i'm wrong about this too, I simply don't know), or when MC cleaner runs. However, I can't seem to find it in the menu. I also tried typing flag_sim fist_name last_name, and I got another menu option, but still no option for "Mark Household as Ancestral" or anything like that. I'm just really confused by this. Any help would be appreciated :).

    From the sim's MCCC menu:
    Sim:MCCC > Sim Flags > MC Population > Flag Household as Ancestral

    Attention: The target sim mustn't be an acitve sim when you try to set the flag.

    Unlike Sims 3 where home lots could be marked as “Ancestral”, in the Sims 4 there isn’t a way to “flag” a home lot. So, instead, you're flagging the household that lives in the lot and the household retains the ancestral nature rather than the home itself.

    Flagging for Ancestral Households are not available for all Sims. Due to the fact that its purpose is to prevent Sims from autonomously marrying/moving-out/changing household names, it doesn’t make sense that it would apply to Active Sims, for example. Also, if the Sims don’t live on a lot, there is no reason to flag them as an Ancestral Household due to having no lot to be Ancestral.

    Here’s some of the effects Ancestral Households have with the other modules:
    • When Sims get married, then will stay on their ancestral lot if there is not someone else there young enough to carry-on the family name. The new spouse will move in to the ancestral lot and they’ll raise their family there. The new spouse will be renamed to match the ancestral name.
    • Random pregnancies and marriages don’t work between two Ancestral Households. Those rich folk don’t like to intermarry, it seems!
    • Random pregnancies and marriages will not work between an Ancestral Household and a vampire household if “Enforce Vampire Homes” is enabled.
    • If the setting is enabled so single Sims move-out when they get old enough, if they live in an ancestral lot, they will only move-out if someone is there that can carry-on for the family.
    • If syncing married names is enabled, when syncing names on an Ancestral lot, all names are kept with the ancestral name.
    • If you try to flag a Sim in an Ancestral household as homeless, you will not be able to do so.
    • If you move the household that is flagged as ancestral to a new household lot, then that new house becomes their ancestral home. If you make them homeless, by evicting them from the neighborhood screen, then MC Cleaner will remove the ancestral flag when it runs cleanup on households next.
    Basically, what MCCC is trying to do here was allow you to take a family, like the “Goths”, flag their household as ancestral and there would be Goths as long as possible in the game. The only way there wouldn’t be any in the future is, if at some point, they manage to not get married/pregnant and everyone dies out.

    When you wish you had followed your own instincts and selected Sims Die On Lot. What does this do, precisely? Does this command ensure that the urn/headstone will be on their own lot, by chance? I just installed another mod that allows for Events, one of which is for a Memorial Service. One of the goals was to engrave the stone. I thought I could find one or at least an urn that would become a headstone once dragged over to the grass, under hidden objects, but no. I found an ancient headstone, which did allow for the inscription at least. But, I'm thinking, I could go into the lot of the deceased, have their spouse place their urn/headstone into their own inventory and then visit the lot wherein the Memorial Service will be held.

    Ah, so it wouldn't help my situation out. Thanks for getting back to me on this! I've just learned I should uninstall the mod in question, yesterday. Only to find it listed as compatible today. :open_mouth: I think I won't be in a hurry, despite how much I love the Events listed in this mod, until I can be certain I won't have those three deaths in a single Sim week right now. That was just too much.

    As announced by EA we're expecting the next sims 4 game update for Tuesday, 8th of December.

    It's hard to tell what might happen.
    Might be game breaking or not - nobody knows.
    Regarding the announced makeup sliders, probably CC makeup might be damaged.
    Also default skin replacements could break again.

    There might be also a MCCC hotfix, but as always it will take its time.
    You know @Deaderpool and his willingness to work on this matter, so I'm convinced,
    that there will be a solution in a reasonable time frame if necessary.

    Again, thanks for the heads-up @Bonxie. I can hardly wait (she said sardonically). I'm getting to the point where I'm starting to dread patches. Even if I do everything right (back up saves and Tray) remove my Mods folder and don't return the mods until updated, I find my save suffering. It took me ages, one time not so very long ago, to get my game save back to where it was when the patch hit, that I practically shudder when a patch is announced. But, I do rely on this thread and Discord to help me over the rough spots. You volunteer support members are the BEST. :)

    Since the patch was released only 30 min ago, there is no information about what broke so far.
    Still in testing mode.

    Post Patch Survival Tips:
    + Create backups of your Saves, Tray and Mod folders
    + Delete your localthumbcache.package
    + Game Repairs are always good to do after every major patch
    + TEST your CC/mods, particularly any game changing mods
    + Check for updates & information regularly (see link below for broken mods list)

    Don't forget to switch on your CC/Mods in game options after patching.

    Oh, man. I never got to play my game yesterday, and I'm late getting started today! Growl, growl, grumble, grumble. I'm beginning to hate patches. I had a third death in my Sim family and she's not, yet, buried. So much for the Memorable Events mod I'm using! Not upset with you by any mean, @Bonxie. Just unhappy, in general. Merry Winterfest!

    i took the latest mc version out. i have a issue where the menus don't show up on my sims computer. i think i read deadpool knows about the issue and is working on it but i could be wrong.

    there seems to be no issues with the current MCCC Version 7.5.3


    We've got an all clear from @Deaderpool regarding MCCC version 7.5.3.
    There have been no errors reported so far after that EA update.
    Everything seems to work as expected.

    Please make sure, that you use the latest MCCC Version 7.5.3.
    The older versions will certainly not work with the new patch.

    I spent my day, yesterday, testing each of the mods I use. One at a time, as recommended. It took nearly all day, and I still had two mods to go, plus my cc. I didn't get a chance to report that MCCC was behaving like normal in my game. Yay! Thanks for the confirmation. :)

    There is one glitch with MCCC. If you change your game play speed you will not be able to sunbath. Just a minor issue but sometimes, you just want to lay out and get some sun :)

    No, not a MCCC glitch. The game doesn't like that option, just like the HH > 8 setting. Sims 4 is not made for changing the internal clocks. It is technically feasable, but that doesn't mean that the result is a stable gaming performance. That's why we recommend to use the game time changer with care.

    Game Time Speed is a popular, but dangerous, setting with MCCC. It is important that you know the risks associated with changing this setting before deciding if this setting is for you!

    Associated Risks:
    Game Time Speed has some known risks with it, which you must weigh before deciding to use this setting. Careers, in particular active-style and at-home careers, often conflict with Game Time Speed, causing LEs and other issues.
    Other time-sensitive interactions and events in the game, such as tanning and holidays, are also affected by this setting, and may not work as intended.

    Popular mods to address simulation lag, like SrslySims's, also explicitly warn against use with altered Game Time Speed settings, as well.

    Notes:
    Game Time Speed affects every interaction — the game only uses one "timeline." This means that, while your Sims' days will indeed get longer or shorter, so too will every interaction they do (showering, eating, etc). If you want to adjust the speed of the day and the duration of interactions separately, you need to install additional mods separately to do so.

    I'm using MCCC story progression for the first time in my game and I have no idea how to make it leave my played households alone. I've already enabled the "Bypass Played Households" option in the mod but for some reason it has still moved a sim out from one of my families into a household that has not been played by me. Am I missing something important like is there another step I need to make for it leave them alone? I'm not very technical so I could probably use a guide for dummies or something.

    Thanks in advance for any help.

    Has today's patch messed with mods? I hope not. The mods I use have all been cleared and/or updated after the last two patches. One toddler has aged up, and the twins are set to age up very soon. I don't wish to have to take a pause on playing because it's disrupted my mods again. This is getting so old for me, fast! My Global Superstar just released his 18th album, too. Face/palm. I just get back on track and it's like a little Gremlin has to come along and pull the rug out from beneath me. When will it end? Yikes. Okay, I'm done with my rant. :)
