Now that I have today's homework finished, I can get back to watching the game. You know, post-grad work really does get in the way of my game time.

Grimmy is stalking my family. He fishes outside their house, and follows them to the gym.

I am really glad to see so many people do this challenge and enjoy it.
There are so many crazy things happening from Grim sitting outside the house and stalking the family like fortelling their deaths or the tots controlling the parents.
It is interesting to see how Sims put in the same environment (4 tots and 2 parents) have different combinations of acting and living together.

I really didn't know this will become so popular lol I just thought of it while leaving one of my families alone while doing stuff irl. Then I thought up of doing it into a challenge on this forum xd my family had only one toddler through and I seen they were coping super well with a butler so for the challenge I increased the tots number to 4 so something was happening.

Please note: If you need to make a call because of school/job etc. You are allowed to do so. You are allowed to do the necessary things like calling, aging up manually etc. you just aren't allowed to control them going to the bathroom, eating, sleeping, socialising.. and all those other actions.

It's going about as well as expected. All the kids are starving and house nearly burned down. The AI is horrible in this game. They won't do anything related to their traits. One of my sims is a music lover but won't go near the musical instruments in the house.

    02-14-17_5-21-29PM_zpsgcxuwwga.png
They should touch the instrument weird.. I noticed that often Sims can do things not connected to their traits. I mean many Sims love reading books without the bookworm trait, it is like books are their life :x

I don't know why, but my tots are thriving. The parents are the ones I am worried about as they are tired a lot, but finally managed to both get full sleep recently. If the kids need something they will ask and the parents tired will do it. The dad even has the hates children moodlet, and he has the tense moodlet which I found funny so will post a pic of that in a min. Even with that he takes care of the kids even if he is dead tired, even more than mom or butler. Those kids have their parents trained. All are in the green pretty much except for maybe their energy and they will put themselves to sleep. Frankly I am disappointed there isn't more drama. I am thinking of firing the butler, but I didn't start out with the butler and the only thing was the parents would still take care of the tots but the house was a mess. Now the house is clean and the butler does help with the kids, but the parents were doing fine in that area in spite of their constant low needs in every area, talking about the parents needs not the tots lol.

Haha it's funny that he has 4 kids but hates children. If you feel there isn't a lot of drama feel free to adopt a new toddler or try for kids with the father's wife if he has one, if not then feel free to adopt. Firing the butler could also make things dramatic xd since no one will be doing anything.

Just hit midnight of age up day for the toddlers (normal life span).....shockingly, Antonio and Tiffanie Moretti are going to make it to see all 4 toddlers blossom into children without a single visit from social services. The odds were against the mean, gloomy dad and the lazy, loner mom. The toddlers whipped them into shape though. Tiffanie still likes her lazy naps but she started cleaning and potty training and even occasionally feeding the kids. However, Antonio is the go-to for the toddlers though. Sure, he loves to occasionally stomp the dollhouse to dust to work out his issues, but he has gotten pretty good at juggling as many as 3 of the toddlers at once. They line up for baths with him and call to him all the way across the house even if lazy mom is standing right next to them. In a perfect example of why they favor their father, wild child Amira woke up hungry and stinky. She burst into mom and dad's room in the middle of the night. Having should have known better, she tried to wake up mom first with her sobs. Mom got up angry, stormed right past her out to the kitchen and got herself a bowl of cereal to eat out in the living room while she watches TV, lol. She left starving Amira standing in a heap of tears back in the parent's bedroom....so Amira had to wake up Antonio so she can get some food. These two won't win any parenting awards but they've made it through the last 3 days without any maid or nanny help. The way they started off, I thought for sure someone was going to be a goner in the first 2 days.

Well when it comes to The Sims they could win some awards like "survived without the person in the sky with 4 toddlers, best parent award". I think the worst will be the grades, the kids won't do homework by themselves and they will only fail and I don't see any of the parents going to do homework with them xD
Honestly without us helping Sims their households are filled with drama and 0 fun. While they can survive.. there is literally no fun in their survival. Just sleep, work, eat, sleep.

I will try to reply to everyone tomorrow, it's just 4:22am now. I have been playing too much with the vampire game pack and got into the movie malifecent.

Funny thing was when I first started I didn't have a butler for a bit, but since there were dirty dishes and spilled food mess on the floor from the tots throwing their food, and the mother with the neat trait wasn't doing it I suspect because of her bad mood lol, I finally did hire a butler just for cleaning purposes really. Without the butler though it was the same, the parents needs were in dire failure, but they still took good care of the kids. The father would fall to the ground in sleep failure and as soon as he got up, he would go take care of a tot if they needed it. And this happened over and over. He would go to bed if no tot needed anything, but then the stinkers would wake him up. I just fired the butler and still everything is peachy keen for the kids that is lol. Parents surprisingly for now aren't too bad either lol. So we shall see how it goes from here on out. The kids have 12 days before aging up.

I was curious to see how the parents would handle the first monster sighting, especially since it would scare all 4 kids. They all ran to wake up mom (dad was at work) and they asked her like 4 times to spray under the bed and she just stands there watching TV. Dad got home in the middle of this and was asked 3 times to spray the monster and seemed to agree to do so and he just stands there, doing nothing. Anyone have the parents actually spray for the monster on their own? If that's bugged, I guess I'll have to get the night light.

On today's episode of "As the Stomach Turns" Solomon and Deanna both married and got out of Dodge. The ghost of Kendra continues to hang around and play with the kids. She thought it would be funny to pop up in front of a very pregnant Ashley and scare the baby right out of her. In her surprise at seeing her dead mother suddenly appear in front of her, Ashley went into labor. Beautiful little Deliliah Vo has joined the family. Will the Sims Social Services take her away like they did Meaghan and Jamie? Who is Grimmy stalking? Tune in tomorrow for the next episode of "As the Stomach Turns."

Good night, Everybody. I'll be back tomorrow.

Enjoyable thread. Just the thing for my morning brew :)

I actually did this when I first bought the game as I was really curious about the AI - I had never played a sims game before.

Of course, did haven't tots, nannies, butlers, etc, but it was still very interesting. From reading the stories above, my early experiment was more successful. The only thing that really blocked them from looking after themselves was autonomous computer game playing. After I removed the computer, it all went really quite well.

I was hunting for mods at the time and I came across one that unlocked autonomous interactions that aren't available to sims in the vanilla game. I installed and ran the experiment again and it was brilliant. Sadly, these mods are no longer working.

This thread has got me thinking about other little experiments I could run. I like stuff like this :)
    Awake.
    Shake dreams from your hair
My pretty child, my sweet one.
Choose the day and choose the sign of your day
    The day's divinity....

I just couldn't stop myself, I had let my sims do what they wanted for a few hours, but then just had to control them again. They are basically passing out from how tired they are and then they start reading a book??? Go to bed, you stupid sim.

And I gave my adult sim the music lover trait and a music aspiration, so I placed a keyboard in the house, but she never used it? Ugh.

My three remaining sims are surviving, though they don't look all that happy. I started a study club for the daughter as that seems to be the only way they'll do homework autonomously. Unfortunately calling a club gathering often freezes the game. Mom also decided to finally practice her violin.

Ok I thought i'd give this a go,
I picked the first male and female sims my cas generated.
    please meet the Jeffers
dad, Corbin, active, cheerful, family orientated, domestic
mum, Karen, romantic, childish, family oriented domestic
    02-15-17_12-16-29PM_zpskm1jyii5.png
    children
    Abbie hat/ pigtails charmer
    Erick Clingy
    Cristal dungarees wild
    Elvis with glasses Independent
first day goes pretty well, mum and dad are attentive to the wants of the toddlers, and so far only Cristal peed in her diaper, the others all asked for the potty
    02-15-17_12-41-26PM_zpsrbtflgvu.png
and they've been quick in asking for food
    02-15-17_12-50-33PM_zpsy5vy2ffw.png

    Cristal has a wild moment
    02-15-17_12-53-20PM_zpsn7ojs0ob.png
and only Erick falls asleep in the highchair, to independent to ask for help in getting out.

next day Monday, everyone is hungry, the house is filthy and two of the toddlers have dirty diapers, and I get my first notification from sim services Erick is starving and if he doesn't get fed soon his going to be taken away,
That's it I cant do it anymore, I have got to intervene.
so I get mum to make a family meal, dad to change and bath dirty toddlers and everyone to come eat.
my conclusion is, the toddlers are very smart and can ask for what they want. the parents even with having family and domestic traits spend a lot of time standing around doing nothing, or both attending to the same toddler, when another needs attending to. My independent toddler has had no interactions with his parents and is nearly in the red in attention. he even takes himself to the potty. I'm going to upload them and download into my main save.
adult sims needs tweaking they need more smarts, and not once have they played with the children.

    It's totally a disaster!

The game crashed after the baby got taken away so she was still there when I fired it back up.

I am so jealous of those who are having struggles lol. My sims game is going so well I am about to cry. My tots ask for what they need and in spite of the parents being tired, hungry, low in fun sometimes they will always do what the tots want, and even when they don't ask they do it. I was on the edge of my seat last night when Pearl's hunger bar was like almost all the way down, and she went to play blocks instead of asking for food. The bar slipped lower and I am like what is going to happen here? Mom came and put her in the high chair, but didn't give her food. I was like hey hey this is getting exciting. Mom took her out set her on the floor, and then dad who hates children comes along puts her in the chair and gave her food. Disaster averted sigh. Other than that parents right now, I had a butler who I fired, are pretty rested, and their needs are pretty good, and same for the tots. The only thing that is annoying is the mess in the house, so am going to hire a maid instead of the butler.

I tried to hire a maid, the first one showed up stood outside for an hour, came in, washed one plate and then continued to stand doing nothing. I hired another one, who cleaned a few more plates, but didn't do much else lol. So that is the most trouble I have had is with the maids. I guess I will have to let the sims live in their mess. The mother has the neat trait, so I am hoping she will autonomously clean, and she does clean out the potty chair, and once cleaned the sink, but they won't take dishes off the high chairs.

I found that to, they don't clean the dishes on the highchair and they don't clean the highchairs. and when there is plate on the highchair they will still put a toddler in the highchair and feed them. the dirty ones disappear.

I have been playing my family in my main save under my supervision, the game was too easy so they adopted another toddler. but I'm not as controlling as I usually am. and I let their bars go down further then I usually do before I intervene.

My toddlers are now almost teens. Mom spent two days singed because every time she tried to take a bath someone was using it. I noticed they only grabbed two toddlers when the kitchen was on fire and left the other two. Guess those were the favorites?

Zach got a job promotion amazing. I didn’t think he’d be able to get one seeing I can control him to do his daily tasks. Now he is getting $13 an hour.

Lyndsey has had a pretty hard time she was constantly passing out. Looking at her stats she passed out 17 times. At one point, she was lucky to get enough sleep that her energy was in the yellow. Twice she didn’t make it to the bathroom. Through all this though she still managed to give the kids food and occasionally bath them. She was even able to get a little reading in of The Last Unicorn.

The baby was born another boy she’d been hoping for a girl but alas. Welcome to the world, Damion Burrows. This will not be their last

The house is currently a mess. I phoned the maid but she doesn’t work weekends. The previous maid was fired because she was just standing there doing nothing. I even reset her. Hopefully, we get a different lady.

The maid she does not look happy.
