Who wears shoes in bed or anywhere near the bed...?? I always thought that's only in American movies. XD

Well, I wasn't so much IN the bed, as ON it, but I left my shoes on because I was going out very soon. Normally I only put the shoes on when leaving and take them off when returning, and wear flipflops / chanclas around the house that are only for indoors. But this was an exception.
Turns out I didn't get to play pool because the place was packed, not even any parking, because there was a tournament going, so I had to settle for a good coffee and a terrible donut, at a cafe that was still open, then a bit of a walk along the riverside in the snow, finding some waterfowl tracks among the dog, cat, shoe, and ski tracks, then headed home.

You, or neither. I don't get people who are scared of needles, especially when getting injections. There's nothing to it. I got stabbed by needles like 3 times one time cuz they couldn't find my blood vessels properly cuz they were too tiny. 🤦♀️ My mom was in the room and was wincing, even the nurse was like, "I'M SO SORRRYY..." XD And I was like, "It's cool. Totally fine having like 3 plasters all over my arms. " Eventually, she had to use the butterfly needle since it's more fine.
And I'm not scared of needles either. I have big veins, they tell me (nice and roomy, and not deeply buried, they said!) but I have a strange problem with blood draws and IVs and such: I can't have it in the middle of the elbow or it sends pain like brain-freeze down my arm into my hand and it just keeps getting worse til I beg them to move it. Must have a nerve bundle right there or something. I warn them any time I need to get stuck there, to only use the veins on the outside edge of the elbow (the side away from the body) because that doesn't cause any problems, and they say most people have a smaller vein there but mine are "great". haha But other than that, needles don't scare me. Though when I had to have rabies shots, they laid the 9 gigantic long thigh-intramuscular needles on a tray beside me and let me have a nice long look before starting. That was not very nice of them but they didn't do it on purpose. I recited Russian poetry to keep my mind off it, which they thought was kind of funny.
The price tag of that was NOT funny! The entire bill was more than our house is worth! Luckily the copay after insurance was only 3/4 of what my car is worth! But I tell anyone, if you ever need rabies shots, and you live in the US, fly yourself to Mexico or something and have it there, you'll save money even with roundtrip airfare first class plus meals and accommodations!
