Day 1 is probably the most boring one..... not everyone is aware that the game started, nobody is suspicious, those kinds of reasons. As the game goes on, people may become suspicious to you, meaning that you think they're the mafia. If you suspect someone, you can vote for them to be lynched, aka killed off from the game. The townies want to eliminate the mafia and the the mafia want to eliminate the townies. Like I said, not a lot happens in day 1, but things will get more interesting as the game goes on . Well, as long as we lynch Mafia on Day 3. And there are 9 of us, which means there will be 5 people by then. If we don't lynch correctly on the first two days, we have a 40% chance of winning on Day 3.

Are you allowed to say what role you are? I'd think you're supposed to keep secret.
Role-claiming or saying your role isn't forbidden. You just need to let know that mafias are there (which can always kill you) and that town can trust you
For example, if you're mafia and you tell us, we'll most likely lynch you, and if you say you're a townie, especially one with a power role, you'll probably be mafia bait
For the most part, we just keep our roles secret

Role claiming is used to try to convince the townies not to vote for you because you tell them you're a power role, whether you are or not, however the mafia would be all over you
