Moved *disappears as it's thirty minutes past midnight and she needs sleep*
Sleep? what is that, I am lucky if I get 4 hours a night, I can not go to bed until 3 am, and get up for 8 am,
Update, Did The Survey thanks, can not wait for results, .
You guys, wow I didn't expect to reach my goal so quickly, thanks so much for participating! Gimme a few minutes to organize the results for viewing. People can continue to take the survey if they would like to, I will leave it up, but I have a max responder limit of 1000 - may as well leave it open and if we reach 1000 I'll post the results of the larger poll in addition to the 500. As I said in the OP, 500 should be a big enough number of us to get an idea of where we're at, on average.
I was so annoyed to discover I was limited to 100 responses (responses still count I just couldn't access them and they weren't included in the stats provided by SurveyMonkeY) with a free account. So just so you all understand the depths of how ridiculous I am I forked over the 30$ charge for one month of the lowest level paid profile. Before you worry, no I didn't break the bank, I actually have a 'Sim's Savings' that I toss little bits of extra cash into when the mood strikes, and since I haven't bought anything recently it's actually got some cash in it. I decided this was worth it for me, and since there isn't an EP coming up anyway, and I've yet to be tempted by any GPs or SPs... well, the money was burning a hole in my pocket, lol. Ok, brb with the results!!!
WE HAVE SURPASSED MY GOAL OF 500 RESPONSES ALREADY!
YOU FOLKS ARE MAGNIFICENT!
Before you read the responses, please consider the following:
1. These responses were gathered from forum users only, and so there will be a larger margin for error when applying these percentages to the sims community as a whole. I think don't think it would be wildly irresponsible to look at these numbers as being representative of the larger community, so long as you take it with a grain of salt and understand that the responses will be most accurately applied to forum users only.
2. While these numbers represent a general trend among forum users, they do not definitively say who is 'right' or who is 'wrong', that is not the point of this data. This is for us, and for the devs, to get a general sense of what percent of the forum community feels one way or the other. Look at it this way, even if 95% want a feature, that does not mean the feature is possible within the game engine. Similarly, even if only 5% of the community want a feature, that does not mean they should be ignored because they are a comparative minority. 5% of the total audience for the game is still a giant number of people and potential sales, and if that feature is easily added to game with minimal resources, it could very well make sense to add it despite it not being 'demanded' by the majority.
3. One thing this survey proves beyond a shadow of a doubt is that we all love this game enough to suffer through my awful jokes, which is something I hope we all hold on to as we analyze and discuss the results. #wearefamily
And so without further adieu...
RESULTS ARE IN!
THE SURVEY IS NOW 'COMPLETE' ALTHOUGH YOU MAY TAKE IT IF YOU WISH AND I WILL POST THE RESULTS OF THE LARGER SURVEY WHEN WE HIT 1000. (SADLY I CANNOT GO BEYOND THAT NUMBER WITH THE LEVEL OF ACCOUNT I HAVE WITH THE SURVEY SITE.)
I HAVE SIGNED UP WITH THEM FOR ONE MONTH SO IF YOU WANT SOME MORE SPECIFIC SURVEYS ON ANYTHING SIM RELATED PLEASE MAKE YOUR SUGGESTIONS IN THE COMMENTS AND I WILL DO MY BEST TO OBLIGE YOU. ONCE THE MONTH IS UP, I WILL BE DONE SURVEYING, SO YOU HAVE UNTIL AUGUST 20TH TO MAKE YOUR REQUEST. THANK YOU AND KEEP ON SIMMING!
Thank you all so much for your time, you are all beautiful and wise. I hope this data will help us get some perspective, and better understand each other! Please keep any discussion of the results civil, and use empathy when interacting with other simmers - or other humans, or dogs, or llamas, or geese... no never mind, don't try to be empathetic with geese, they're terrible creatures who will bite you as soon as look at you. #CanadianProblems
@SimGuruDrake FYI if it's of any use/interest to you. Thank you for your help last night and for all you do on the regular! Please pass along to the team if you consider this useful. Cheers!
Results are posted on the main page and in my last comment @BlueBlack007 I didn't end up needing to post the survey to FB or Twitter, thank god, I detest using both, lol! Glad enough forum users participated - although as I say in the survey results it means this survey can only be considered an accurate representation of the forums, as that was where all the data was collected.
@PrincessVee Good suggestion, thank you, I have tagged El Drakedor so that she can pass it on if she finds it helpful, I'd rather not spam tag the entire team, I know it'll reach them if she deems it worthwhile and I trust her judgement.

Thanks for the post I enjoyed the survey and was not surprised with the result.
@jimmysnan Weirdly, I was not surprised either, makes me happy to know I have enough interaction with the community that I was fairly spot on with my person assumptions of the numbers behind this stuff. Still happier to have some measure of confirmation though!

I do not use FB or TW because I will never trust either of them , esp after I saw them on the news more than once being sued for 🐸🐸🐸🐸 and such.
I find that one of the most interesting points is that the community is unsure about what is the Sims' team vision of the franchise. It's one of the things I'm most annoyed about: I just don't get where this game is going and I'd like to know, because I see the potential but I cannot keep on buying stuff based on "potential". I need to know where we are going and if investing more money on this game will be worth it or not.
@QDog I totally agree, I think that is really interesting, "still don't get it" was my personal choice as well. The team mentions it like it is this definable thing, but it's clear that most here are still unsure what they are talking about! I think that's a really good bit of info for the communications team because knowing the direction of the Sims 4, the logic behind it, and what it means for the various playstyles moving forward is important for achieving/maintaining confidence in the franchise.

Same. I've seen them steadily go on about their new vision, how some players might not like it, etc...But I've yet to hear a concrete "this is our vision for The Sims 4, and were taking the game in X direction and focusing on A, B, and C". I feel like it'd help a lot to at least have a general idea of what they're doing without being bound to the "this quarter only" rule.
Interesting that a fair few people miss story progression, for some reason I didn't think that would be the case.
Maybe a simmer could post a link to your survey on the Sims main Facebook page to save you having to join? And Twitter. There must be somebody here who could do that for you. I am astounded that you forked over cash to get the survey results, so I don't mind joining Facebook for you if nobody else can do it.
I'm not surprised to see I have been right about the need for all life stages and complete life stages. That choice had a large amount of votes even if a larger amount of people are satisfied. Which doesn't actually correlate.

It's probably because there was only a choice of poor or satisfactory - I decided to choose satisfactory because it was closer to how I feel than poor. I do enjoy the game, but I still think that they need to add toddlers, preteens and better babies.
Interesting to see that more people chose poor than great - that contradicts what @SimGuruDrake said recently in a thread on here. But I guess we need a wider amount of simmers for it to be more accurate.

It would be great if this would go out to all simmers that would be a true representation!

I'm one of them. I do, badly. I'm also one of the ones that preferred The Sims 4, but it was a close run thing between TS3 and TS4. That the town seemed alive around you was one of the main things I love about TS3. I go back now and again, but I can't seem to get into TS3 the same anymore.
Thank you @esharpmajor. I enjoyed the experience. None of the answers surprised me.
