Julius was waiting for the girls to return after their evening out and I had originally decided to have him interrogate them for information on the girls who had left - you know, to find out how they were moving on with their lives - but it WAS a Wednesday and unofficially it was time to send a girl home.
There were five beautiful girls left and I could see Julius building a future with each of them. I really struggled to decide who he was sending home but I had to follow my gut instincts - in a way that lead me down a different route to my original play through of this challenge.

Savannah was all over Julius like a rash, excitedly recounting how amazing their evening had been as soon as he walked over to the girls.
It was a rather sweet moment so I let it play out for a moment before I had Julius pull the girl he was sending home aside. - Are you guys ready to cry? -
Julius was so sweet and discreet as he asked her for a private moment... and seeing as he had done it in front of all of the other girls Dominique mistook it as a good sign. She even strutted her stuff rather boldly as he lead her away to a secluded spot in the gardens.
I mean, you have to give it to Julius, he has a knack for picking romantic spots!
Dominique was putting in his hands and I felt really sorry for the brown haired beauty when she pulled Julius into a hug before he'd even had a chance to speak.... I like to think that he hugged her back because he knew it would be the last time that he would ever hold her in his arms again. How do you say goodbye to someone that you have fallen in love with, when you know that there is another girl that holds his heart even more firmly than she?
This hopeful look in Dominique's eyes broke my heart. She didn't even realise that Julius was 'Asking her to be Just Friends'.
I took awhile for the penny to drop. You can see the start of her confused frown forming at the corner of her lips...
Dominique was shocked when she realised what was going on...
And I had to look away as she broke down in tears. I may have cried just a little in sympathy.
It was a good wail and Dominique took her time pulling herself together. This amazing woman offered him on last reproachful look...
...before choking back her tears and turning around to leave.
I know Dominqiue, my heart hurts too.
And just like that we were down to four.

I'm shocked because Dominique was first right? What happened if you don't mind me asking? None the less I'm sad to see her go but she made it pretty far.

There isn't really much of a story line to these pictures. The girls realised fairly quickly that Dominique had left, and knowing that another girl was going home on Friday - the four remaining girls knew that one of them would be engaged within 10 days after all, The Prince only has 24hours to announce his choice once he reaches the final two. The girls were abuzz!

Yes that's right guys! It's time for the report!!!!!!! Eep! Someone is going home tonight... and seeing as one of the girls would be Julius bride-to-be in just a few short days, I figured that a family event was the way to go.
@Irishsong - built an amazing room for Skye which featured earlier on in this challenge...but seeing as these remaining girls were the Elite, I upgraded their bedrooms and ran wild with the themes for their rooms. Skye - loving the color raspberry - went for a full on chiched out color scheme, Ella and Ariana kept their bedrooms exactly as they were when they moved in, and Savannah added touches of monochromatic drama to her room. I don't have pics - sorry! - but Skye's bedroom is up on the gallery because I liked hers the most! Haha!
Anyway, the girls gathered in Skye's room as they got ready for the evening.
I like to think that the girls are really close now, I mean Julius' sister even joined the party. They were all giving each other hints and tips on their outfits.
I like to think that Ariana was a little nervous about picking a yellow dress. It's actually amazingly beauitful but she has tended to stick to more neutral, toned down colors. She's a champagne color schemed girl through and through - but I have decided that, that is the offical color scheme of the royal family, so I had her change it up and I really like the way her yellow dress pops amongst the colors of the other girls dresses.
Ella is in her trademark green, Skye is in her own trademarked raspberry, Savannah is mixing it up in a sparkly white number and Liana is rocking a champagne gown in traditional royal colors.

I am really excited for this event! I designed a really quaint marquee type setting out in the gardens because something about it seemed to suit the evening. Julius was just a little excited to share the night with the girls!
Speaking of...what kind of Report would this be in the girls didn't make a stunning entrance.
I am just a little happy that Liana entered with them! She is such a beautiful sim - she does have a favourite but sneaky tip (Liana's favourite girl goes home at the end of this event
The girls had a great chat with Julius at the start of the evening...and for some reason Savannah is always the first one to break the ice. I don't really think of her as the leader of the remaining girls...but she is certainly not afraid to put herself out there. I don't think that she has the same reservations as the other girls. Her and Julius really have had the strongest friendship throughout this challenge, so I guess she just feels completely at ease - you know when comparing friends she's the kind of friend that would just walk in and make herself at home...where as I imagine Ariana, Skye and Ella taking a moment or two to warm up to something like that. Skye maybe never...
Ella getting her flirt on lol while Ariana does one of those intense side long glares that she is becoming just a little famous for. I will stare at you with my love! Hahahahahhaa! BTW I think that this is most make up that I have ever put on Savannah. It's kind of doing my head in. Haha!
Anyway...after a few pleasantries the girls and the Royal Family made their way to the marquee for Dinner. It was a really beautiful laid back evening and I loved watching the group talking amongst themselves...so in no particular order here are A TON of happy snaps from dinner - coz why not!

Queen Natlia really likes Savannah and I feel like that DEFINATELY counts in her favour. Speaking of favour... the girls had a blast on the dance floor. It was a little weird... one Julius only goes so far...so I felt like he definitely noticed it just a little bit more when girls he was all in love where watching after him, patiently waiting their turn on the dance floor...

It really was a beautiful night. The girls got along like a house on fire, Julius enjoyed himself immensely and for the first time ever actually had the chance to slow down and absorb the changes in his life and his parents finally got to see the girls in a fresh new light. Unfortunately though...it can't all be fun and games.
Julius knew that it was time to send one of the girls home and in my first play through of the challenge she made it too the final two - to the point where I actually stuffed her into the wedding dress that I had picked for the girls and had her pose her a little photo shoot with the prince to see which of the remaining girls fitted the best. I don't have the picture though. I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise of who actually wins

Towards the end of the evening Julius pulled Ella away for a moment alone. I was not entirely happy with this decision but something about sending the blonde haired beauty home now seemed fitting.
Julius knew that she was hopelessly in love with him and knowing how he felt about two of the girls it seemed kinder to send her home before the girls were sitting on the edge of their seats waiting for the prince to send the third and final girl home before throwing an engagement party and announcing his choice.
Ugh! This makes my heart bleed! I'm not going to lie... Ella was my favourite at the start of this challenge. She still has a special little place in the corner of my heart. She would have won in an alternate universe.
Julius let her down easily...
...and their parting hug was amazingly sweet. Julius did love her and he was bold enough to know that he didn't have to pretend otherwise.
Honestly...these tender smiles broke my heart and I honestly thought that Ella would be able to walk out of the castle with her head held high...
...but she barely made it past the fountain out the front before her emotions overwhelmed her and she broke down.
Ella's elimination rocked Skye, Ariana and Savannah's world. They had all been so sure that she was the one to beat. They stared at each other, lost for words when Julius returned from his walk through the gardens with Ella alone. No one was more shocked than Liana. She tried to hide her tears and excused herself from the family event as a solitary tear slid down her cheek. The girls were all but too keen to accept Julius offer of a quiet afternoon in the gardens the following day as a group.
They shared a really friendly game of cards and I think it settled the uneasiness the girls were felling perfectly.
Savannah ended up winning and I had to laugh when I saw Skye's reaction. I didn't know that you were the competitive type Skye. Hahahahaha!
I directed the girls to make some ice tea to cool off in the warm summer afternoon air and was surprised by Ariana taking over the duty. I can't believe that I have to split these girls up. I already miss Ella so much...
How am I meant to say goodbye to all but one of these girls? Honestly. I really and truly love all of them with Julius for very very different reasons.
And do you want to know the hard part? Julius has full friendship and romance bars with all three of the girls and they all boast the soul mate relationship icon with the Prince. As in... they are all pretty. Right...this should be easy. *gulp*
Oh, for those interested in building/floor plans I figured that I would show off how I remodeled third floor layout of the palace to better suit the smaller number of girls. The black and monochrome long and skinny room on the left is Savannah's, Ella's (was) the pink hued one in the very bottom left corner. Ariana's bedroom is the top left and Skye's raspberry dream in on the bottom left corner.
Ariana and Julius kicked off the first of the final dates and I was just a little excited! I can't believe this is it! OMG! I sent the two lovebirds to the Bluffs because a beautiful day like today deserved an amazing, secluded and pictures location.

After a few smooches, and general light and happy banter - seriously these two spent most of the afternoon laughing I decided it was time for the two to change into their everyday wear and enjoy a few romantic moments in the last rays of the day
Apparently I like to take artistic shots...the jury is still out on how cool they are though...

And with a final kiss after the sun had long been set these two have offical had their last date of the Selection Challenge. Who is just a little bit excited about the fact that Ariana and the Prince might go on their next date as husband and wife - or if they are sneaky, steal a few moments to themselves as a young and in love engaged couple...giddy about the life ahead of themselves.

My goodness I am starting to feel all kinds of nostalgia. Seriously...I invited Julius parents and Sister to join them for breakfast because if would look way to empty with just the four of them. Skye looks insanely happy about my decision to fill up the dining table...that or she is just excited about nabbing the seat next to Julius.
Savannah and Ariana made the most of the situation and had a great morning chatting up the King. He still likes Ariana better than Savannah or Skye, but the breakfast was a good boost to his relationship with Savannah. Who knows...maybe he'll have a new favourite by the end of the challenge.
Queen Natalia and Princess Lydia really didn't care too much about who was sitting where and had a great morning catching up mother to daughter. I'm really hoping to marry Lydia off at some point and spoiler alert - I do marry her off and I actually really like her husband! -.
I even included Queen Natalia and Princess Lydia in the traditional Elite training each morning. I can't believe how well the girls are going skill wise. Ariana has 20 skill points contributing to her tally as a Selected girl - with 6 in charisma, 5 in logic and 9 across multiple musical disciplines. Savannah is sitting on 21 skill points - with 8 in charisma, 5 in logic and 9 across multiple musical disciplines and Skye is sitting on 22 skill points - with 6 points in charisma, 7 in logic and 9 across multiple musical disciplines. Kind of crazy stuff!

I thought that the girls could use a bit of a reprieve from the harsh skill regime and sent the three girls of the elite and Princess Lydia out into the gardens for cool drink of lemonade...
...and then encouraged them to participate in a game of horse shoe...because it just seems like something that upper class women would do if bocce wasn't available.
Princess Lydia didn't bond with any of the girls in the same way that she had with Ella...but she did come away from the afternoon pleasantly surprised by how much she liked each and every girl for their uniqueness.

The Gardens, Early Evening
Seeing as we are still in the Elite phase of the challenge, Skye was next in the rotation and she was extremely excited for her final date with the prince as a girl of the Selection. My heart melted a little when I had the idea to hold their date in the very first location they had ever spent time together one on one. Come on...its romantic and we all know it. Admit it...you melted a little on the inside.
They are so in love it is crazy. I love the look on Julius' face in the picture above. I kind of wish it had been a little more dreamy like Skye's below but we'll roll with it. Pure thoughts Julius...pure thoughts I see that desire to woohoo hiding in your wishes Julius! You need to put a ring on it first - and you know that.
Thankfully Julius managed to cool himself off a little and the two loverbirds settled in on the couch and yes that is Jessamine making drinks in the top corner of the picture...shh! Don't break the magic!
They were just a little bit cute and I am seriously in LOVE with Skye's outfit here... like seriously. It suits her perfectly I think. She is no royal...but it looks like she has finally managed to embrace her status as an Elite in a classical elegant way.
Cue the cute kiss! Seriously...Julius has been waiting since the moment he saw her and it pushed their date bar into the gold...so I wasn't complaining. Their date didn't end there though. Who remembers that fountain that Julius showed off to Savannah and a very small selection of the girls. Julius couldn't quite describe why...but he had a burning desire to take Skye there and share the last moments of their date together in the cool aired and dreamy place from his childhood.
Is it ok if I just sit here and sigh and feel all light and full and happy? I just can't even with the cuteness going on!
Aww, now there is that dreamy look I was wanting to see earlier Julius. He looks completely lost in her eyes.

Tuesday came and went with little fanfare. Julius was busy with official duties and preparations for the fast approaching announcement ceremony. Julius wasn't certain when he would send the next girl soon...but he didn't know that it would be before the Report on Saturday - he had already approved the invitations for the event. He needed to choose his finally two and from there - his future bride. Skye, Ariana and Savannah passed the day in the Elite room, finalising their skills before the big day.
Wednesday, Day 51

Ballroom, Evening
As we know by now Wednesday are a group event or challenge and this Wednesday, the last Wednesday of the Selection Challenge was no different. I had hoped to showcase this around Christmas time - which is what the party is themed after...but things rarely go according to plan, so if you could dial your clocks and calendars back to December 2016 we'll get on with the show... because the remaining three girls on the Elite are holding a combined party, for passed Selected Girls and the Royal Family to mark their time in the palace and compete against each other in an attempt to win an additional two points for being the friendliest host.
I told you it was Christmas themed and we'll just ignore the miserable looks on the girls faces - I took this screenshot before cleaning up the ballroom in preparation for the party - coz you know priorities.
See we'll just switch to a back view and we can still get that really cool christmasy vibe from the girls! Speaking of - please feel free to swoon over how amazing and christmasy the ballroom looks - because I love it just a little!
I even had the Queen and Princess dress up in Christmas colours.
Does anyone recognise our first guest? The girl in the red dress with the black hair? Yes. no? It's Sapphire and she may or may not have met someone who transformed her world.

As you can tell Violet thinks the mishap is just a little hilarious (and props to Ella for making it to the party in the background there between the Queen and Ariana).
No one really won this mini challenge because the guests were scattered throughout the palace and I regret to inform you...that I didn't even make it to a silver medal for this party. Hahaha...yeah.

I really struggled to figure out what to do for Savannah and Julius' last date - and to be honest that really should have been my first clue... because I didn't even have think when it came to the dates for Ariana and Skye.
These two are really good friends...but I was starting to realise that, that was all. I know. You can have a little cry. It's ok.
Savannah and Julius' really are good friends and while I like to think that romance between them works - and it does - Julius has more intense interactions with Skye and Ariana...it's just a matter of who brings the perfect balance of friendship and romance to the table
They barely even had to think about where they were going until they both found themselves on a bench and having an absolutely blast. A warm and teasing banter passed between the two easily and I was a little sad to realise that I already knew that Julius was going to send her home by the end of it.
There warm kiss was insanely sweet and I died a little inside each time their lips met. Stop looking so happy together you two! Don't you know that I have to eliminate you one by one? I don't want to see you go Savannah but I want Ariana and Skye to stay more. #harshreality #dontwannagrownup
Ugh! Please stop! I'm already a little dead inside form saying goodbye to Dominique and Ella. Can we not be way to cute for words please you two?

I have to admit that the two of them rolling the want to stargaze together was really cute. The trees at this lot are insanely beautiful and amazingly romantic - if you haven't held a sim wedding yet - trust me this is the place to come and do it. There are so many pictures places for the perfectly candid shot.
There really were a beautiful duo. I was actually struggling to click the 'Ask to Just Be Friends' option. No Julius! Why? WHY?!?!?!?!?!
Savannah surprised me by being totally ok with it.

"Julius it is ok. I've seen the way you look at Ariana and Skye... I know if it were a different time and place - it could be us...but it's not and that is ok. I'll always care for you and I hope that you will always care for me. Friends till the end?" Savannah asked with a warm smile.
"Yeah," Julius nodded, taking her hand and planting a light kiss on the back of her palm, "You'll always have a place here." The prince told her.
"Yeah, same." Savannah finished resting her hand over her heart.

So I'd like to tell you that, that is where the story ends and you can finally start getting excited about the final two and Julius announcing the girl he chooses for his future bride-to-be...but the party was going to be in 24 hours. It didn't really make sense to send Savannah off into the world so I had her head back home and ronde with the girls. Besides, I had already decided that her and Julius had conspired together and decided that it would be less conspicuous if she announced the impending conclusion of the Selection Challenge and the forth coming engagement herself...otherwise the two would analyse every milisecond that Julius was in the room.
Skye and Ariana look a little excited at the news...don't you think?
So much so that they were both on their phones within an instant ringing each and every person that they could think of. One of them was going to be a princess soon enough.

Normally I like to keep little moments with my sims like this too myself...but I decided to share this moment with you. Julius for all of his analytical and administrative capabilities is a bit of a dreamer. Today was the day that he was going to choose his bride and deciding that it suit his personality perfectly I sent the young Prince out to the fountain to make a wish.
A wish for happiness, prosperity and unending love.
Don't worry Julius. I am watching out for you and the girl that we both pick in the end is the right choice... I have seen the life that you two of you live together and it is nothing short of perfect. You have the most amazing kids, you are abundantly happy and joyful and you two could not be more in love.

Nothing to see here...just an outside picture of the little marquee I built on an empty lot on the Island in Windenburg. It seemed like the perfect venue to announce the Prince's choice. Regal but laidback and approachable...the kind of King that I know Julius becomes.

Jessamine diligent as always, was busy preparing the venue for the guests about to descend on the place.
Julius, the Royal Family and the girls arrived early and I really enjoyed catching this moment of unreserved fun that the group had. As you can see Skye is in her traditional color Raspberry and Ariana turned up in a champagne dress that I eventually convinced her to change out of. champagne is for the royal family - I don't want to give anything away just yet *cough*
As you can see it didn't NOT take long before the guests started pouring in...
....and I have to be honest...I was a little shocked by the number of sims now attached to this challenge. Seriously the eliminated have been busy since Julius bid them fair well - all of the girls bar Autumn, Addison and Sophie are attached to someone. Crazy right!

...as did Ming and Valentina and just between you and me I love Ming's dress! Thank you city living!!! Aah! So pretty!
Ella made it too and I like to think that she was just appreciating a nicely flavoured juice and not hitting it hard because she was still struggling with Julius' decision to let her go. You and me both Ella. You and me both.
Actually... for those interested - I did actually dress her up in the wedding dress that I had decided that the princess would wear. That's how seriously I was about her being the princess...but towards the end of this...I realised that someone else had stolen is heart. The winner - is Julius perfect match.
Can you spot Ariana and Skye sitting at the head of the table with Julius? I tried to bring some order to the party...but there were 20+ guest so of course it looks hectic and insane and like every picture is a smash of bodies!
I love this little gathering of girls! Fun fact...the red headed man in the cream vest may or may not be scouting out a future with Sophie. Hint - it's not a good one. He's got a bit of a wandering eye and a short attention span if you catch my drift.

As with all things like this there is always one loser and Julius asked Ariana to join him outside for a moment to talk. The girls had bombared Skye the moment Julius lips had left hers and he happily left her inside surrouded by the joy and support of her friends as he honoured Ariana's time with him.
Ariana was amazing gracious - like maybe she knew that his heart belonged to Skye. Had it been the glint in his eye that she had seen sparking in his light green orbs whenever he had looked at the tanned beauty...or maybe it was the small smile she'd seen creep along his face as he watched Skye socializing with his family.
She's a sweet girl. I have loved ariana more than I expected. She really does wind up with the perfect guy after all of this! Julius was waiting for the girls to return after their evening out and I had originally decided to have him interrogate them for information on the girls who had left - you know, to find out how they were moving on with their lives - but it WAS a Wednesday and unofficially it was time to send a girl home.
There were five beautiful girls left and I could see Julius building a future with each of them. I really struggled to decide who he was sending home but I had to follow my gut instincts - in a way that lead me down a different route to my original play through of this challenge.
LEFT TO RIGHT: Ariana (Yellow and Sky Blue Dress), Skye (Purple Dress), Savannah (Silver and Blue Dress), Ella (Aqua/Green Dress), Dominique (Red Dress - duh!)
Savannah was all over Julius like a rash, excitedly recounting how amazing their evening had been as soon as he walked over to the girls.
It was a rather sweet moment so I let it play out for a moment before I had Julius pull the girl he was sending home aside. - Are you guys ready to cry? -
Julius was so sweet and discreet as he asked her for a private moment... and seeing as he had done it in front of all of the other girls Dominique mistook it as a good sign. She even strutted her stuff rather boldly as he lead her away to a secluded spot in the gardens.
I mean, you have to give it to Julius, he has a knack for picking romantic spots!
Dominique was putting in his hands and I felt really sorry for the brown haired beauty when she pulled Julius into a hug before he'd even had a chance to speak.... I like to think that he hugged her back because he knew it would be the last time that he would ever hold her in his arms again. How do you say goodbye to someone that you have fallen in love with, when you know that there is another girl that holds his heart even more firmly than she?
This hopeful look in Dominique's eyes broke my heart. She didn't even realise that Julius was 'Asking her to be Just Friends'.
I took awhile for the penny to drop. You can see the start of her confused frown forming at the corner of her lips...
Dominique was shocked when she realised what was going on...
And I had to look away as she broke down in tears. I may have cried just a little in sympathy.
It was a good wail and Dominique took her time pulling herself together. This amazing woman offered him on last reproachful look...
...before choking back her tears and turning around to leave.
I know Dominqiue, my heart hurts too.
And just like that we were down to four.

There isn't really much of a story line to these pictures. The girls realised fairly quickly that Dominique had left, and knowing that another girl was going home on Friday - the four remaining girls knew that one of them would be engaged within 10 days after all, The Prince only has 24hours to announce his choice once he reaches the final two. The girls were abuzz!

Yes that's right guys! It's time for the report!!!!!!! Eep! Someone is going home tonight... and seeing as one of the girls would be Julius bride-to-be in just a few short days, I figured that a family event was the way to go.
@Irishsong - built an amazing room for Skye which featured earlier on in this challenge...but seeing as these remaining girls were the Elite, I upgraded their bedrooms and ran wild with the themes for their rooms. Skye - loving the color raspberry - went for a full on chiched out color scheme, Ella and Ariana kept their bedrooms exactly as they were when they moved in, and Savannah added touches of monochromatic drama to her room. I don't have pics - sorry! - but Skye's bedroom is up on the gallery because I liked hers the most! Haha!
Anyway, the girls gathered in Skye's room as they got ready for the evening.
I like to think that the girls are really close now, I mean Julius' sister even joined the party. They were all giving each other hints and tips on their outfits.
I like to think that Ariana was a little nervous about picking a yellow dress. It's actually amazingly beauitful but she has tended to stick to more neutral, toned down colors. She's a champagne color schemed girl through and through - but I have decided that, that is the offical color scheme of the royal family, so I had her change it up and I really like the way her yellow dress pops amongst the colors of the other girls dresses.
Ella is in her trademark green, Skye is in her own trademarked raspberry, Savannah is mixing it up in a sparkly white number and Liana is rocking a champagne gown in traditional royal colors.

Gardens, Late Afternoon
I am really excited for this event! I designed a really quaint marquee type setting out in the gardens because something about it seemed to suit the evening. Julius was just a little excited to share the night with the girls!
Speaking of...what kind of Report would this be in the girls didn't make a stunning entrance.
I am just a little happy that Liana entered with them! She is such a beautiful sim - she does have a favourite but sneaky tip (Liana's favourite girl goes home at the end of this event
The girls had a great chat with Julius at the start of the evening...and for some reason Savannah is always the first one to break the ice. I don't really think of her as the leader of the remaining girls...but she is certainly not afraid to put herself out there. I don't think that she has the same reservations as the other girls. Her and Julius really have had the strongest friendship throughout this challenge, so I guess she just feels completely at ease - you know when comparing friends she's the kind of friend that would just walk in and make herself at home...where as I imagine Ariana, Skye and Ella taking a moment or two to warm up to something like that. Skye maybe never...
Ella getting her flirt on lol while Ariana does one of those intense side long glares that she is becoming just a little famous for. I will stare at you with my love! Hahahahahhaa! BTW I think that this is most make up that I have ever put on Savannah. It's kind of doing my head in. Haha!
Anyway...after a few pleasantries the girls and the Royal Family made their way to the marquee for Dinner. It was a really beautiful laid back evening and I loved watching the group talking amongst themselves...so in no particular order here are A TON of happy snaps from dinner - coz why not!

Queen Natlia really likes Savannah and I feel like that DEFINATELY counts in her favour. Speaking of favour... the girls had a blast on the dance floor. It was a little weird... one Julius only goes so far...so I felt like he definitely noticed it just a little bit more when girls he was all in love where watching after him, patiently waiting their turn on the dance floor...

It really was a beautiful night. The girls got along like a house on fire, Julius enjoyed himself immensely and for the first time ever actually had the chance to slow down and absorb the changes in his life and his parents finally got to see the girls in a fresh new light. Unfortunately though...it can't all be fun and games.
Julius knew that it was time to send one of the girls home and in my first play through of the challenge she made it too the final two - to the point where I actually stuffed her into the wedding dress that I had picked for the girls and had her pose her a little photo shoot with the prince to see which of the remaining girls fitted the best. I don't have the picture though. I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise of who actually wins
Oops! Did that give away who goes home next? Hahahahaha!
Towards the end of the evening Julius pulled Ella away for a moment alone. I was not entirely happy with this decision but something about sending the blonde haired beauty home now seemed fitting.
Julius knew that she was hopelessly in love with him and knowing how he felt about two of the girls it seemed kinder to send her home before the girls were sitting on the edge of their seats waiting for the prince to send the third and final girl home before throwing an engagement party and announcing his choice.
Ugh! This makes my heart bleed! I'm not going to lie... Ella was my favourite at the start of this challenge. She still has a special little place in the corner of my heart. She would have won in an alternate universe.
Julius let her down easily...
...and their parting hug was amazingly sweet. Julius did love her and he was bold enough to know that he didn't have to pretend otherwise.
Honestly...these tender smiles broke my heart and I honestly thought that Ella would be able to walk out of the castle with her head held high...
...but she barely made it past the fountain out the front before her emotions overwhelmed her and she broke down.

Ella's elimination rocked Skye, Ariana and Savannah's world. They had all been so sure that she was the one to beat. They stared at each other, lost for words when Julius returned from his walk through the gardens with Ella alone. No one was more shocked than Liana. She tried to hide her tears and excused herself from the family event as a solitary tear slid down her cheek. The girls were all but too keen to accept Julius offer of a quiet afternoon in the gardens the following day as a group.
They shared a really friendly game of cards and I think it settled the uneasiness the girls were felling perfectly.
Savannah ended up winning and I had to laugh when I saw Skye's reaction. I didn't know that you were the competitive type Skye. Hahahahaha!
I directed the girls to make some ice tea to cool off in the warm summer afternoon air and was surprised by Ariana taking over the duty. I can't believe that I have to split these girls up. I already miss Ella so much...
How am I meant to say goodbye to all but one of these girls? Honestly. I really and truly love all of them with Julius for very very different reasons.
And do you want to know the hard part? Julius has full friendship and romance bars with all three of the girls and they all boast the soul mate relationship icon with the Prince. As in... they are all pretty. Right...this should be easy. *gulp*
Oh, for those interested in building/floor plans I figured that I would show off how I remodeled third floor layout of the palace to better suit the smaller number of girls. The black and monochrome long and skinny room on the left is Savannah's, Ella's (was) the pink hued one in the very bottom left corner. Ariana's bedroom is the top left and Skye's raspberry dream in on the bottom left corner.

Ariana and Julius kicked off the first of the final dates and I was just a little excited! I can't believe this is it! OMG! I sent the two lovebirds to the Bluffs because a beautiful day like today deserved an amazing, secluded and pictures location.

After a few smooches, and general light and happy banter - seriously these two spent most of the afternoon laughing I decided it was time for the two to change into their everyday wear and enjoy a few romantic moments in the last rays of the day
Apparently I like to take artistic shots...the jury is still out on how cool they are though...
Have you got your cold showers ready coz you are going to need it at the end of this. Forewarned is forearmed.

And with a final kiss after the sun had long been set these two have offical had their last date of the Selection Challenge. Who is just a little bit excited about the fact that Ariana and the Prince might go on their next date as husband and wife - or if they are sneaky, steal a few moments to themselves as a young and in love engaged couple...giddy about the life ahead of themselves.

My goodness I am starting to feel all kinds of nostalgia. Seriously...I invited Julius parents and Sister to join them for breakfast because if would look way to empty with just the four of them. Skye looks insanely happy about my decision to fill up the dining table...that or she is just excited about nabbing the seat next to Julius.
Savannah and Ariana made the most of the situation and had a great morning chatting up the King. He still likes Ariana better than Savannah or Skye, but the breakfast was a good boost to his relationship with Savannah. Who knows...maybe he'll have a new favourite by the end of the challenge.
Queen Natalia and Princess Lydia really didn't care too much about who was sitting where and had a great morning catching up mother to daughter. I'm really hoping to marry Lydia off at some point and spoiler alert - I do marry her off and I actually really like her husband! -.

I even included Queen Natalia and Princess Lydia in the traditional Elite training each morning. I can't believe how well the girls are going skill wise. Ariana has 20 skill points contributing to her tally as a Selected girl - with 6 in charisma, 5 in logic and 9 across multiple musical disciplines. Savannah is sitting on 21 skill points - with 8 in charisma, 5 in logic and 9 across multiple musical disciplines and Skye is sitting on 22 skill points - with 6 points in charisma, 7 in logic and 9 across multiple musical disciplines. Kind of crazy stuff!

I thought that the girls could use a bit of a reprieve from the harsh skill regime and sent the three girls of the elite and Princess Lydia out into the gardens for cool drink of lemonade...
...and then encouraged them to participate in a game of horse shoe...because it just seems like something that upper class women would do if bocce wasn't available.
Princess Lydia didn't bond with any of the girls in the same way that she had with Ella...but she did come away from the afternoon pleasantly surprised by how much she liked each and every girl for their uniqueness.

Seeing as we are still in the Elite phase of the challenge, Skye was next in the rotation and she was extremely excited for her final date with the prince as a girl of the Selection. My heart melted a little when I had the idea to hold their date in the very first location they had ever spent time together one on one. Come on...its romantic and we all know it. Admit it...you melted a little on the inside.
They are so in love it is crazy. I love the look on Julius' face in the picture above. I kind of wish it had been a little more dreamy like Skye's below but we'll roll with it. Pure thoughts Julius...pure thoughts I see that desire to woohoo hiding in your wishes Julius! You need to put a ring on it first - and you know that.
Thankfully Julius managed to cool himself off a little and the two loverbirds settled in on the couch and yes that is Jessamine making drinks in the top corner of the picture...shh! Don't break the magic!
They were just a little bit cute and I am seriously in LOVE with Skye's outfit here... like seriously. It suits her perfectly I think. She is no royal...but it looks like she has finally managed to embrace her status as an Elite in a classical elegant way.
Cue the cute kiss! Seriously...Julius has been waiting since the moment he saw her and it pushed their date bar into the gold...so I wasn't complaining. Their date didn't end there though. Who remembers that fountain that Julius showed off to Savannah and a very small selection of the girls. Julius couldn't quite describe why...but he had a burning desire to take Skye there and share the last moments of their date together in the cool aired and dreamy place from his childhood.
Is it ok if I just sit here and sigh and feel all light and full and happy? I just can't even with the cuteness going on!
Aww, now there is that dreamy look I was wanting to see earlier Julius. He looks completely lost in her eyes.

Tuesday came and went with little fanfare. Julius was busy with official duties and preparations for the fast approaching announcement ceremony. Julius wasn't certain when he would send the next girl soon...but he didn't know that it would be before the Report on Saturday - he had already approved the invitations for the event. He needed to choose his finally two and from there - his future bride. Skye, Ariana and Savannah passed the day in the Elite room, finalising their skills before the big day.
The Elite
Ballroom, Evening
As we know by now Wednesday are a group event or challenge and this Wednesday, the last Wednesday of the Selection Challenge was no different. I had hoped to showcase this around Christmas time - which is what the party is themed after...but things rarely go according to plan, so if you could dial your clocks and calendars back to December 2016 we'll get on with the show... because the remaining three girls on the Elite are holding a combined party, for passed Selected Girls and the Royal Family to mark their time in the palace and compete against each other in an attempt to win an additional two points for being the friendliest host.
I told you it was Christmas themed and we'll just ignore the miserable looks on the girls faces - I took this screenshot before cleaning up the ballroom in preparation for the party - coz you know priorities.
See we'll just switch to a back view and we can still get that really cool christmasy vibe from the girls! Speaking of - please feel free to swoon over how amazing and christmasy the ballroom looks - because I love it just a little!
I even had the Queen and Princess dress up in Christmas colours.
Does anyone recognise our first guest? The girl in the red dress with the black hair? Yes. no? It's Sapphire and she may or may not have met someone who transformed her world.

As you can tell Violet thinks the mishap is just a little hilarious (and props to Ella for making it to the party in the background there between the Queen and Ariana).
No one really won this mini challenge because the guests were scattered throughout the palace and I regret to inform you...that I didn't even make it to a silver medal for this party. Hahaha...yeah.

I really struggled to figure out what to do for Savannah and Julius' last date - and to be honest that really should have been my first clue... because I didn't even have think when it came to the dates for Ariana and Skye.
These two are really good friends...but I was starting to realise that, that was all. I know. You can have a little cry. It's ok.
Savannah and Julius' really are good friends and while I like to think that romance between them works - and it does - Julius has more intense interactions with Skye and Ariana...it's just a matter of who brings the perfect balance of friendship and romance to the table
They barely even had to think about where they were going until they both found themselves on a bench and having an absolutely blast. A warm and teasing banter passed between the two easily and I was a little sad to realise that I already knew that Julius was going to send her home by the end of it.
There warm kiss was insanely sweet and I died a little inside each time their lips met. Stop looking so happy together you two! Don't you know that I have to eliminate you one by one? I don't want to see you go Savannah but I want Ariana and Skye to stay more. #harshreality #dontwannagrownup
Ugh! Please stop! I'm already a little dead inside form saying goodbye to Dominique and Ella. Can we not be way to cute for words please you two?

I have to admit that the two of them rolling the want to stargaze together was really cute. The trees at this lot are insanely beautiful and amazingly romantic - if you haven't held a sim wedding yet - trust me this is the place to come and do it. There are so many pictures places for the perfectly candid shot.
There really were a beautiful duo. I was actually struggling to click the 'Ask to Just Be Friends' option. No Julius! Why? WHY?!?!?!?!?!
Savannah surprised me by being totally ok with it.

"Yeah," Julius nodded, taking her hand and planting a light kiss on the back of her palm, "You'll always have a place here." The prince told her.
"Yeah, same." Savannah finished resting her hand over her heart.

So I'd like to tell you that, that is where the story ends and you can finally start getting excited about the final two and Julius announcing the girl he chooses for his future bride-to-be...but the party was going to be in 24 hours. It didn't really make sense to send Savannah off into the world so I had her head back home and ronde with the girls. Besides, I had already decided that her and Julius had conspired together and decided that it would be less conspicuous if she announced the impending conclusion of the Selection Challenge and the forth coming engagement herself...otherwise the two would analyse every milisecond that Julius was in the room.
Skye and Ariana look a little excited at the news...don't you think?
So much so that they were both on their phones within an instant ringing each and every person that they could think of. One of them was going to be a princess soon enough.

The Fountains , Early Morning
Normally I like to keep little moments with my sims like this too myself...but I decided to share this moment with you. Julius for all of his analytical and administrative capabilities is a bit of a dreamer. Today was the day that he was going to choose his bride and deciding that it suit his personality perfectly I sent the young Prince out to the fountain to make a wish.
A wish for happiness, prosperity and unending love.
Don't worry Julius. I am watching out for you and the girl that we both pick in the end is the right choice... I have seen the life that you two of you live together and it is nothing short of perfect. You have the most amazing kids, you are abundantly happy and joyful and you two could not be more in love.

Julius, the Royal Family and the girls arrived early and I really enjoyed catching this moment of unreserved fun that the group had. Ella made it too and I like to think that she was just appreciating a nicely flavoured juice and not hitting it hard because she was still struggling with Julius' decision to let her go. You and me both Ella. You and me both.
Actually... for those interested - I did actually dress her up in the wedding dress that I had decided that the princess would wear. That's how seriously I was about her being the princess...but towards the end of this...I realised that someone else had stolen is heart. The winner - is Julius perfect match.
Can you spot Ariana and Skye sitting at the head of the table with Julius? I tried to bring some order to the party...but there were 20+ guest so of course it looks hectic and insane and like every picture is a smash of bodies!
I love this little gathering of girls! Fun fact...the red headed man in the cream vest may or may not be scouting out a future with Sophie. Hint - it's not a good one. He's got a bit of a wandering eye and a short attention span if you catch my drift.

And with his heart beating out of his chest and his blood roaring in his ears, Julius proposed to the woman of his dreams...

Congratulations Julius and Skye! I can't wait to show you the life that they have built for themselves and the introduce you to the amazing children that they have raised together.
As with all things like this there is always one loser and Julius asked Ariana to join him outside for a moment to talk. The girls had bombared Skye the moment Julius lips had left hers and he happily left her inside surrouded by the joy and support of her friends as he honoured Ariana's time with him.
Ariana was amazing gracious - like maybe she knew that his heart belonged to Skye. Had it been the glint in his eye that she had seen sparking in his light green orbs whenever he had looked at the tanned beauty...or maybe it was the small smile she'd seen creep along his face as he watched Skye socializing with his family.
She's a sweet girl. I have loved ariana more than I expected. She really does wind up with the perfect guy after all of this! I'll be posting a 'Post Selection' photo series (just life after the Selection) from random snapshots I've taken in game. Fun fact! Ariana's beu proposed at the romance festival...and she said no
And speaking of perfect...Julius spent the remainder of the evening with his arms around the soul mate of his life and the woman he would make his bride. He was never going to let her go again.
