For some time I was thinking of creating a thread like this. It aims to draw the attention of producers about the negligence when are creating the worlds of The Sims 4. I'm quite tired of seeing so many flaws that the worlds of The Sims 4 have. Are flaws with the neighborhood ornaments, the positioning of certain objects, "paper tree" background very close to the normal range of the game camera, and a lot of other things. The quality and care that was in the creation of the worlds of The Sims 3 just vanished into The Sims 4. Did you, The Sims Studio, can do a better job? Because the quality is declining.
Maybe you need the help the Popcap, because the scenarios of Plants vs Zombies are very well made. Now I'm going show everyone what I'm talking about. All photos were made without the use of the free camera.
I can easily see these two streets cut with a normal camera, what is the difficulty in trying to hide it better?
Again, in the same district.
Again.
They almost succeeded in hiding the limit of the street. But poor people, it was not enough.
Again
Why god?
This is bad.
Oh my God! This could cause a serious car accident. Oh, I forgot! Sims do not own cars.
Please, stop! I'm crying.
Great!
Maybe more 2 trees?
Why not make a tunnel? What the hell.
I see it!
Do not you think that tree background is too close? It seems so fake.
Once upon a time, papers in front of a street.
Can you see that floating tree? Can you see the square ground?
Square, square, square!
I don't like the terrain
If I see this kind of thing at the normal camera range, I'll complain..
OH MY GOD! LOOK THIS! What a shame. What a shame ... that lousy job.
I thought that lilypad should float on the water, not in the air.
🐸🐸🐸🐸?
... S***
The river is a disaster
Lets pray for that.
No no no no baby...
Poor river. It would not cost anything to have continued a little more, right?
Too sad
🐸🐸🐸🐸?
Floating plants...
I would not want to know what's there.
The first time I saw it was at Gamescom, before the game is officially released.
Again
I'm tired.
Of this.
The forest is invading the city.
So ugly.
The Sims Studio, can you hide that?
Paper too close.
🐸🐸🐸🐸? WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF? STOP!
There's a hole in the river.There's a river with a hole.
Studio? Where are you?
Maybe other angle
The End
In my opinion, it is unacceptable view all these things I showed in each of the photos through the normal game camera. If I could see the limit of all these streets with just the free camera, it would be acceptable, but when I see through the normal camera, I basically feel living in a more false environment. I LOVE the worlds of The Sims 4. They are so rich in small details than The Sims 3! But I believe there is much to improve. I know that producers can edit at any time existing districts to correct flaws, even in districts already played. And if you don't think it's important what I showed, is your right! But try not to belittle! Because while for many babies and cars are important, to me, are also the neighborhoods.
Bye

Shame, shame again...
I have noticed that isn't a objects' problems, but rather a problem about how they are in the world. It's poorly done.
Maxis can do something better, especially the terrain, even though we can not see it using normal camera. A lot of buildings crossing each other and streets disappearing in rocks or holes showing the sky don't seem like the best way to show a more intimate community that The Sims 4 aims to show.
I think of it kind of as a puppet theater. Only not as cute.
Those pics though. That's really bad. That's a good example of what I mean when I say that in my opinion this game suffers from a lack of attention to detail and an abundance of obvious shortcuts. I was always drawn to The Sims in the past because I'm a detail-oriented person and I loved the attention to the little things in previous games. It wasn't always perfect, but there was generally a decent effort. With 4, though, I don't see as much of that care. I see that they tried really hard with things like the socialization animations, but so many other things fall flat to me. I really hope that they take a look at this thread.
It's embarassing, it's lazy, it's cringeworthy. I mean compare this to the worlds in TS3!
I mean, what happened to the TS3 development team who built these fantastic worlds? I mean sure, some worlds might have had some odd routing issues but hats off to them for trying, at least they made the effort back then and with a CAW tool, they gave us a chance to make worlds as well!
This just looks like it was made in ten minutes and thrown together and promoted as 'rich and vibrant worlds' which only look as rich until the road ends...
Saying that, I did have to laugh at the 'floating tree' I guess that is part of the 'weirder stories' thing they were also trying to promote
Edit: Sims 3 has flying trees as well btw, and dead end roads.
Sad but true . . . .

The Sims, life simulator ≠ SimCity, city builder

The Sims 4 General DiscussionI disagree. That is a pretty sad excuse. Lack of attention to detail still should matter in a life sim. The road shouldn't just end in the middle of nowhere, trees and rocks shouldn't be floating, flat backdrops should be far enough out of everyday view that they are unnoticeable as flat backdrops. It is disappointing. How are we NOT supposed to look at the environment?
So why don't you back to The Sims 1, where the scenery around the house is nothing more than a gray background? It is precisely because we are playing a life simulator that scenario really matters. You need to feel that we are living in a real place, and all the sense is lost when you see a cut in the street in front that take us to no where. From the moment you accept these failures, you're just asking that the scenarios of the future are increasingly less detailed and bad finished.
Well said
I think it is a gross step backwards from those fine levels of detsil we had in TS3 to what we have now.
Rumour has it that the world Windenburg in the next EP was made prior to the launch of AtS4, what is the odds that will having missing roads or floating trees or is that just going to be part of the 'European' charm?
it wasn't the first thing I noticed... but I found I had to be careful with my camara angles
true as some said sims3 had floating trees and bad roads to... but not as many and not as bad (that I saw any way) beside even if they at the same level I expect a brand like sims to improve for each instalment... not stay the same or get worse.
this is sad to see, especially with a brand you care about and enjoy haveing in your life.
(I'm still curious btw OP why you consider Sims 4 worlds more detailed than Sims 3 worlds; in what way?)
