Hey, everyone! I threw a party in The Sims 4 go celebrate its 5th Anniversary, as well as my birthday and some awesome Simmers sent over their Sims! Feel free to read along.

I wished you happy birthday on other threads, but it's my first time back to this one since then! Happy birthday!
The party turned out so great. What a wonderful way to celebrate Sims 4 and you!
Thanks for holding it and including everyone who wanted to come!
Thank you, Cathy! It was so fun and it was an absolute pleasure to have your SimSelf there!
i hope the benders behaved themselves cause they don't for me. happy birthday. i think i'm late.
Thank you. You didn't give me your Gallery ID, so unfortunately I couldn't have them at the party. But the Benders misbehaving would still be the least of the problems at that party, lol.
i;m not sure the other story is working for some reason i can use the classic tools with the benders and the new one keeps wanting the block feature. normal people don't write in blocks so i hate it
Have you tried switching to classic? You can do it in the options menu? You click the three dots at the side (outlined below) then go to the bottom and hit "switch to classic editor" (outlined below).
If you keep getting it by default, let me know and I can help you fix it.

Hi everyone! I've been on a long hiatus while slowly working on other projects, namely my thesis and the TS3 world I'm creating that combines the neighbourhoods from TS1 & TS2.
How are things with all of you? I trust I have a lot of story updates to catch up on
From the town's first community lot to each household and rabbit hole, watch the stories unfold... Rebuilding Appaloosa Plains Prologue & Chapters 1-18 out now!

I was having Mom checking my Power Point for Monday. Doing a sort of "Intro to Sign Language". Right now I just was bringing in Dad's clothes from the clothes line

I am verrrrry slowly getting back into even playing TS3 at all. Nowadays I'm mostly just watching Youtube videos and writing non-Simlit.
When i figure out if the posts are actually working i'll add more info. right now its like one sentence a post.
They're working! I'm now following this blog of yours, too! I like the story! XD
I'm excited... I have a new idea for a TS4 story, so I'm going to update the game tonight on my iMac and start playing soon!
I hope I have the capacity for two games--I don't want to stop ESO, but at the same time, I feel SimLit calling to me! My little hiatus seems to be coming to an end!

Looks awesome, @Morningstar! Must be very time consuming, though. I wanted to this with Sims 3 worlds in TS4, but gave up for now.
Thanks, @divanthesimmer! It's unfortunate in TS4 because even if your lot looks perfect, it won't probably match the neighborhood around it, and the neighborhood layout can never be anywhere close to the originals. I guess it makes sense though, since TS4 is in an 'alternate timeline' than the first three games in the series.
The supposedly continuous timeline of the first three games is the main reason I started this world! I've also been puzzling out the history of how the timeline could make sense and recreating Sims from the original games and resurrecting ancestors. I plan to eventually make a sort-of story out of it, although it won't be in my usual format. I'm thinking it'll be mainly screenshots and some vague paragraphs on the "history".
I'm starting in the 1920s with the Goths (Victor, Gretle and son Gunther) and Crumplebottoms (Simon, Prudence and daughters Cornelia and Agnes) in the "Old Country". By the late '30s they move to Sunset Valley (TS3) and they live there through the '50s. Old Town (TS1) is being built up during that time, prompting the creation of Neighborhood 1 where Gunther's son Mortimer and his wife Bella move to start their family in the late '70s/early '80s. Around this time, the Burbs move to a farm in Old Town and the Pleasants move to Neighborhood 1. Bob and Betty Newbie move in in the late '80s and they have a daughter, Brandi. The '90s and early 2000s set up for Pleasantview (TS2). I plan for it to end around 2005; approximately when The Sims 2 would start following Bella Goth's disappearance.
There are a lot of 'moving pieces' to making it work, but I've enjoyed trying to figure it out over the past few months! My desk, on the other hand, is a complete mess of papers and notes between this project, Rebuilding Appaloosa Plains, and my thesis work.

Wow...you've put a lot of thought into that! I'll definitely read that when it's ready! I love lore, too, and especially Sims lore. I agree about The Sims 4 worlds - it's impossible to create exact replicas of existing buildings/buildings from previous Sims games, because you're very limited in terms of creativity.
A factious question.. if you had to protect a bunch of storybook characters in a fantasy world... who would you recruit from either your Sim Stories OR your other writing to help you with an army?

May we do fanfic? Because if so, definitely the Marley-Threepwood family from an as yet unfinished bit of swordfighting silliness. Also Kaitlyn, the snake girl from August's MSSSC entry.

The cast of @simscognito's Friends of Foes is familiar with fighting, so maybe them? hehe
Most of the SimLit I write/read doesn't involve violence, so I'm not sure how useful they'd be in an army.
