I would love to enter this, but i honestly have no clue how to even tackle something like this.
Unfortunately, i wasnt lucky enough to have any type of relationship/bond with either of my grandmothers. The first time that i spoke to my father's mother, was shortly before her death, because she chose not to have anything to do with me, my mother, or my brother because my mommy is black (even when my father was alive, their relationship was strained because of this ... she didnt even come to his funeral) and i didnt have any time with my mother's mother until a few years before she died, but even then, she was bedridden, so the only time i actually got to spend with her was when it was to feed/change her.
I've always been somewhat of an emotional cripple, so i didnt really feel that i missed out on that bond that other people, have with their grandmother's. Even when i see how my son interacts with my mommy, it just makes me happy to see how he loves her just as much as i do, but i've never been envious of it. Now, with that being said, this is my third time in this thread to see what some of you awesome people have come up with, and its making me anxious!! So hurry up and post something already!! LOL!
Hello @tombwriter Thankyou for sharing about your life experiences. I send special thoughts to you and a hug
If you would still like to do a kitchen, you could furnish a kitchen that is like how your Mother would like a kitchen to be. If you decide to enter that would be great, or you could wait for the next theme next week.
I am looking forward to seeing the entries too!
I think Grandma's kitchen is a great place to start.
Do you know I once did a challenge that had us make one room each week and we had to make all the rooms fit together in a cohesive build in the end?! Talk about a challenge! That was fun.
Hello @ciane I hope that you are having fun simming today. The challenge that you were involved in sounds as if it would have been fun!
Your Grandma's Kitdhen is so very nice! @Naley22 The floral wall pattern is very pretty and is homely! The green colour scheme of the room looks very nice. Very nice layout and furnshing of the room! The island bar stool counter is great! It is such very nice pictures of your grandma sim cooking tasty food for her grand children, and the grand children sitting at the table and on the stool enjoying eating it! The type of ceiling lights that you have used looks nice and suits the type of room. Nice side wall dining area. The texture of the kitchen counters looks nice. It is nice that you have the bakery oven and the canning station items in the room for the grandma to enjoy cooking up tasty meals in the bakery oven and also enjoy make preserves on the canning item. The three floral jars in the corner on the counter and the kitchen wall shelf with the hanging utensils are nice homely touches in the room. The crockery display cabinet looks nice in the room.
The kitchen is very nice! It is nice room for grandma to enjoy cooking in, and for her famiky to enjoy eating the meal. Thankyou very much for entering the challenge!
The grid shows in the photo which is probably kinda annoying but I realized after already taking all the pictures. I drew inspiration from my actual grandparents' kitchen, this is slightly bigger and I made a few changes but overall this is how it looks. The two doors in the corners would be leading to other rooms in the house.
Your kitchen is very nice! @janineisabaws It is so very special that you based it on the real life kitchen of your grandparents. Very nice layout and furnishing of the room! It looks very nice how you have placed the kitchen cabinets and counters. The cake stand, floral jars and cookie jar on the corners of the counters, and the hanging apron on the wall are nice homely touches. It looks so nice how you have placed a baked pie on the counter, ready for sims to enjoy eating. The fruit picture on the wall is nice for sims to see whilst preparing meals there. It is great that you have double sinks in the kitchen. The brown colour scheme of the room, and the trees pattern on the wall create a nice calming feel in the room. Very nice dining area of the room. The floral dining table and seating looks so pretty! Sims will enjoy sitting there eating their home baked meals, and the flowers on the table are a nice sight for sims to see whilst dining. The plates wall shelf, bookshelf and the pantry display cabinet are nice home touches on the sides of the room. The home picture on the wall suits the theme of the kitchen very well!
Your grandma's kitchen is very nice! It is a very special simversion of your grandparent's kitchen. Thankyou very much for entering this week's challenge!
This is my third try building this kitchen. The first two times my game crashed right after I would say "I'm almost done!" It's pretty loosely based on my grandma's old kitchen, but I wanted to fit in some of the premium items, and update it a bit.
I learned a couple things working on this. One, I don't have any fridges with the freezer on top?? There's like one or two that's a two door + freezer on bottom, but none the other way around. Two, I don't have any fridges with magnets! Don't even know if there are any, but there should be!

The one I directly linked to is the one my wife and I have been calling eerie, because, with the hallways, it really does look like my grandma's.
I am sorry that your game crashed two times when you were just about finished creating the kitchen! @Snorkelbucket That is not good! Your kitchen is very nice! Very nice furnishing of the kitchen! It is very nice pictures that you have taken of your grandmother cooking some tasty food. Your sim is nice. She would enjoy cooking meals on the bakery stove and making jam and prserves on the canning station. The kitchen wall tiling is nice. The flour packet, knife block, set of three jars and the hanging utensils wall shelves are nice homely touches in the room. The grandma will enjoy looking out through the kitchen windows at the outdoors views whilst preparing meals. The wall tiling is very nice. The island counter is great! The marble texture of the kitchen counters creates a nice look in the room. The flan stand is a nice touch on the counter. The house picture looks so homely and nice! The pattern on the flooring looks very nice. Very nice corner dining nook! The floral and family pictures on the dining walls are very nice and homely for sims to enjoy seeing whilst sitting at the table eating their meal. The floral pattern on the table is very pretty! The condiments are a nice touch on the table. The floral towel rack is nice touch there. It looks very nice how you have placed the many kitchen items on the display rack shelves! The fruit bowl, jug, cupcake stand, flour bags and other items look great there! They are nice for the Grandma to see as she prepares meals in her kitchen. She will also enjoy sitting resting in her rocking chair, with pictures of her family on the wall for her to enjoy looking at.
It is a very nice kitchen for a grandma! She will enjoy cooking there! Thankyou very much for entering this week's challenge
My grandma was really weird. She was obsessed with the color blue and candles. She literally could not stand art so that is why there is not decor. I dont feel like turning the pics into different pics and then putting them into a website so here h ttp://www.thesims3.com/myMedia.html?action=default&persona=adeade4545
Thank you @rosemow, you're such a peach! I put the condiments there because my grandma always had these weird wood carved napkin holders, and that's the closest I could find. I also picked marble for the baking! My grandma just had a broken slab of marble to keep her dough cold while she worked it, I figure in her dream world she'd have an abundance of marble.

Hello @adeade45 I know that because you are not a member yet you are unable to post pictures. Simmers are unable to see the media tab of other simmers. We can only see our own media tab pictures. I won't be able to see your pictures that way. I am sorry. Could you perhaps post the links to the pictures here?

It is great hearing about why you chose the condiments and used the marble @Snorkelbucket
Rose I should have my pics up sometime tomorrow. I was actually able to work on it longer than I expected today, so tomorrow will be sorting pictures and getting therm posted. Have a great night/morning!

Hello @Ivana I will look forward to seeing the pictures of your kitchen! I hope that you have a nice Friday and weekend .
Unfortunately, I can not get Sims 3 to work so far. It keeps giving me the "reached license limit" error. I went through and checked all the registry keys, like the help said. I tried uninstalling the base game, and reinstalling. I guess my next step is to unistall each pack, one at a time, and try reinstalling
Hi Rosemow and anyone reading. I was browsing the forum yesterday and came across your post. I thought it sounded like a fun idea so I set out to design a kitchen. I wanted to design a kitchen that would be a clash between old farm house and modern. I thought maybe Grandma Williams would appreciate the charm and character you might find in an old farm house, but enjoy some of the modern finishes you might find in a kitchen today. My goal was to find balance between the two. I hope you enjoy.
Right off the kitchen is a small butlers pantry where I decided to keep the canning station and bakery oven. I also put the dishwasher and garbage disposal in there in hopes of keeping the kitchen area less congested.
And a couple of my Grandma sim enjoying this new space.

Hello @MolliesDollies I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with getting Sims 3 working. It is not good . I hope that the uninstalling and reinstalling of each games pack helps to fix the problems.
