@rosemow, I love the idea! If I could make a suggestion, give parts of the story, but leave it open enough for people to make it theirs. For example, the room for the sick little girl was perfect - you gave us the basics of the story, and I loved reading all the different ways people took your outline and turned it into their story. So much fun!
It's kind of like giving a child a cardboard box. You have no idea what they'll make out of it, but you know it'll be interesting, creative, and based around a square with flaps. But even within those constraints, it might be a rocket ship, a race car, or even a doll house.
I had a friend tell me recently that I'm a storyteller, and I've begun noticing how often stories are a part of everything I do. Even my photo work revolves around stories:
Homeward Bound
The story: I remember when I was little and we were returning from a road trip at night. The street lights would reach out towards our car and each light would guide us to the one just beyond it, until suddenly we were home and Mom and Dad were tucking me into my bed.
i loved that feeling as a Child lige the were draging the car home
still imagen it.

as an artteacher I love this consept,
give the Kids, a frame, some rulles, but still open for personal tutch, they Learn more, are happier and do better work.
free play inside the rulles.
Thankyou for sharing your thoughts @Teegers That is how I feel about the challenge too. It will be great to have the basics, and then see how simmers creatively take them and use them to create their own home. It will be fun and enjoyable to see everyone's rooms/home!
@anettesb, until I first shared this picture, I had always thought that I was the only one who felt that way as a child - it's always great to hear others say how they remember the same feeling.
I loved art in college, and at home, both my dad and brothers were incredible artists (I'm not much good at drawing, but I love doing other kinds of art). You can probably tell that stories and writing were also a large part of growing up - my dad told the best stories and would occasionally paint us a picture to illustrate a story he made up just for us.
When we decided to homeschool our sons, art became an important part of their curriculum. Both are great artists, like their granddad and uncles, and they also enjoy exploring other mediums (my older son loves music, while my younger dreams of being a voice actor when he's older). So art and creativity are vital parts of our home (as are empty cardboard boxes big enough to dream with).
Oh, the link above leads to some more of my pictures - they're all several years old, but I just recently downloaded my favorite photo editing program (I had to figure a work-around since it's a Windows program and I'm on a Mac), so I'm looking forward to doing more photo art very soon.

@Rosemow, you have no idea how much this makes me happy. I was so sad marking this thread off the list, because even though I didn't enter every week, I visited the thread nearly every day to see what others were creating and to read over your challenges. In fact, it was your challenge of the wedding room that started me off on what eventually turned into Cantersim Cathedral. I've found so often in art, the sims, and even in life, it's just a simple idea that usually opens the door to grand designs. Thank you for deciding to continue sharing your building challenges. I'm looking forward to it!!!
Rose that depend
if the rooms are mandatory to complete on time - or only the build is
if the build have (lets say) 5 rooms, predecided by you
I see 3 options I would feel was ok
1) you sign up and have to meet the deadline for every room and then the end of it all the house.
Then I think many would need 2 weeks pr room + to finish the lot = 12 weeks
2) if the rooms is only mandatyr for the build, and don't have to be turned in on time (unless you want bonus changes, if it was a competition) then I guess a week would be ok.
3) (like this best) 2 weeks pr room, and you can choose to do the rooms like now - so you don't commite for the whole thing, But IF you do you end up with a house.
though I might not be the best to ask as I mostly would use this as inspiration (why I like version 3)
I think 2 weeks would be good? Just a little longer than it used to be, in case something comes up, but that way people who are done already don't have to wait endlessly for the next challenge
Hello @Shadoza2 I have decided to wait a little while. I am just not sure if there is the interest to do rooms. I think that simmers prefer to build homes. There are build contests taking place at the moment, so I thought that it might be best to wait a little while, perhaps until they are finished.
Hello @Rosemow can't wait until this is open again I am looking forward to participating now that school is out : D It is a great idea for those with less time ^^

Hello @AriyAriy I hope that you enjoy your break from your school studies
The Sims 4 room challenges thread was started before this thread was. I just posted the link in case any simmers that play sims 4 would like to take part in that thread.
I am still not sure if the new idea of building a house room by room is going to be what simmers will take part in. There are a few building contests taking place, and also the gift exchange thread has started, and I am wondering if simmers may be too busy to do rooms. I am also wondering if it may be better, if the thread challenges went back to the original way it was run with a different theme each challenge , but have a longer time to do the rooms?
Perhaps simmers could post what they think too?
Maybe Simmers could decide? You could give a different theme and different room assignment each time, with a longer time to do them. Then people could just choose whether they want to build just a room each time, or put all of them together and make a house out of it?
Thankyou very much for your views @MariTomKaulitz. I'll see what other simmers think too. Also, there are a few build contests on at the moment as well as the gift exchange so simmers may be a bit too busy to do rooms at the moment.
With the forums closing, I just wanted to say thank you again to everyone who entered this challenge in the past I enjoyed looking at all of your rooms
