My sims would play catch all day if I let them. I will sometimes see the ball in a sim's queue and cancel the action before they get to their target.

Last night I was with the Hermans. I added another sublevel to the cult commune @lanlyn made from the Stone's Throw Greenhouse to put alchemy supplies and a few other knickknacks in. I'm going to have to remove a few seed spawners, too. Kiera and Ferby are expecting Baby No. 2, though I may have to induce labor a few hours early to ensure the baby is born on the full moon.
I'm also thinking about digging one or two saves out of my archives just to see if they're still viable.

I finally remembered the special seed in Jason's inventory and had him plant it because I wanted to see what it was.
It was a plasma fruit unfortunately. I don't remember the seed glowing when he collected it so I don't know what's up with that.

All my boys seem to love the kids, even when they are not their own. My sims will often pick up and play with sim toddlers when they are visiting or at parties

It was Saturday and I had no idea what to do with the family so I had a look around in map view. I added picnic tables to one of the fishing spots and sent the family.
I didn't have to direct anyone because sims will always autonomously fish at fishing holes
Not sure if Pia is upset because she can't get to the fishing spot she wanted or because there's a fishing pole through her head
Jason, Paul and Josie chose to fish away from the others.
When I saw that Pia was not able to find herself a clear spot on the outcrop that Jay had chosen I had her join Josh.

The family fished for hours and many fish wishes were fulfilled
When all the spawners had been fished dry, I stopped them from fishing and they must have had enough because they were happy to find other things to do.

@bekkasan Thanks for the lovely comments I agree that the darker hair looks better with the blue skin but it's good that Jay and Jaxon have different colour hair so I can tell them apart when they grow up The blue skin doesn't seem to go well with my sims' favourite colours or makeup.

It is easier to find female hairs but I don't really look for them since I don't care for females. I just have enough for a little variety in my game.
I don't think any EA sim is fine the way the come, not even Connor, but that's me. My sims might not be to everyone's taste but they are to mine
I don't like any of the EA Asian sims at all! In fact, I don't like Asian sims even when I make them because there's something so unrealistic about sims looking Asian even after several generations. Being half Asian myself I know it doesn't work that way.

I wanted to send the family elsewhere before dinner and found Jared, Lara, Cort and Jake at the park. Jake is Lara's brother. I was about to send the family to join them but they all scattered to other parts of town.

Been working hard on my ‘doubt it will ever get published’ story. I did get side tracked on another writing project for a few days but worked on the original story today. My husband set me a goal of 1,000 words per day and I’ve been happily exceeding it everyday. I was spoiled doing Sims stories as I leaned heavily on the pictures, I started writing out Secret Obsession and without pictures and writing in third person was becoming a chore so I switched to first person and if flowed much better. Set that aside for awhile, I’d rather work on the original story idea.
All in all writing is very fun, but it wears me out, I haven’t touched Sims for days. Read back about 7 pages here while listening to my new love BTS, they are a Korean boy band, I only found them because I was looking for inspiration for a Korean friend for one of my book characters on Pinterest (I like having a visual of characters I create), then wasted about 3 hours watching videos of them on youtube today...totally hooked! My 16 year old son Matthew is ready to disown me!!
@coco , If you ever need Lego pieces we have two huge tubs of spare parts, I’d be happy to look for you, but like you said replacement parts are usually pretty cheap. We have 2 of the Big Ben sets, one has been split up to be built one is still in the box (the husband always buys doubles, one to build one to keep). I HATE building big sets!!
I’ll attempt at least a bit of feedback tomorrow after I get a few thousand words banged out, writing is priority now. I do miss everyone here, and my Sims (actually I miss my Sims less than I thought I would, sorry my pixel loves).
I hope that you can continue with book writing. I am also lazy when it comes to Sims stories as a picture paints a thousand words. I am tempted to one day do a Sims update without any captions to let everyone guess what is going on lol

Yesss let's talk about BTS. They have some great songs and music videos. I flew to Sydney back in 2017 to see them in concert. They are very popular in America now as I know they've been on the Ellen show a few times. If you'd like new songs to listen to in the background I recommend Day6, they don't have any bad songs.

Lol, they do look a bit different than what I use, but they are the same. It might be due to the shade of blue, maybe.
@Brandontaylor A lot of shows have done that. They're good in the earlier seasons, but then later, it's as if the writers are running out of ideas, or they seem to be in a rush. The final season of True Blood had that rushed feel and certain plot points made no sense at all. I think they wanted to tie up loose ends, but didn't do it properly.

Usually when I'm preparing to have my household eat together, I designate one sim to cook dinner and serve the portions. (I have a mod that lets me do that.) While that's going on, I have the other sims do some other kind of chore that needs to be doing, or keep them busy with an activity so that they all don't go to the fridge and grab some leftovers.

Hope George can fix things. In my current household, Claude had a romantic interest with another sim before he started dating Luna. She didn't like it one bit when he wanted to be just friends. Sims really hate being friendzoned from their reactions.

I think that if I can handle Quadruplets in my game, I can handle Triplets.
And they're all such nice mixed genetics! No clones with this family! Even if they only inherit one feature from a parent, I still count that as a success.

Your sims are fine. I've been known to alter sims faces in little bits, especially a lot of the base game pre-mades. But there are some that I leave alone because I think they're perfect. I might change their appearances, like clothes, hair, and make-up, but I leave their genetics as is.
@king_of_simcity7 I imagine an interview with the Grey Lady supporters would just be filled with bashing. But I think they should go on the talk show and express their views.

So, I do have good news. You all remember this gorgeous young man, don't you? Well, those of you who did follow my legacy family before it crashed and burned under one of the many bugs that the Sims 3 has sometimes. (It was the only fairly decent picture I could find of him.)
Anyways, I recently discovered that I had him in a backed up SavedSims folder! I decided that I will be able to continue with my legacy as it's a spare's job to take over if something happens to the heir(ess). Obviously this will basically be a brand new legacy in a new world since it'll only been him as the rest of his family wasn't backed up, unfortunately, including his fiance, Beverly and their child. Yes, before my save got corrupted, he had gotten engaged to his teenage sweetheart, Beverly, and they had a little girl named Anisse (I think that's how it was spelled) with her. I've also decided to continue the legacy with a Supernatural twist. Greyson will be staying human, but he'll be marrying one of the Occult states that is able to bear children (so obviously no plumbots .) Then the heir to the next generation will marry another Occult state. I also have the Hybrid mod from Nraas, so I'd like to play with that a bit too.
There are other details to work out, such as a few handicaps I want to use in order to make the legacy more interesting and a bit challenging. One of them being that I want to do a Patriarchy, so that only the male offspring can inherit. I've never done one before and I also want to have the Behind The Times handicap, so very limited electronics. (No television, only the old fashioned stereo. I think Supernatural came with a nice one. The computer can only be used for writing. I actually downloaded a nice looking typewriter.)
I'll list more details and handicaps later on once I'm able to actually start up the legacy. Also, I'm not abandoning my current household. I'll also be posting updates with them too fairly regularly.

@coco - Nope...no honeymoon for us in real life either; haven't been able to afford one. Nope...Haruo doesn't know cars very well. Yeah, I think Haruo and River must be exhibitionists.
I'm so basic when it comes to cheese. ~sigh~ For me, it's mozzarella, swiss and aged cheddar. No fancy stuff...haven't been too experimental when it comes to cheese.
Back at their marriage point, I believe they only had a high six-digit figure or low seven digit. Yeah, I play so much that I create a time-rift between the chapter I'm currently writing and where I'm currently at in the game.
I have way too many stories. I'm starting to get confused myself.

@LunBeauty, So far nothing bad has happened. And well, I still haven't figured out if there may be anything happening in that particular story because unless Haruo or River develops a bad habit with gambling; they will probably more than likely turn out OK.
I've been doing a lot of reading with regards to reports on what might happen after a nuclear holocaust (environmental, sociological, etc.) and they provide a good base of research for what could potentially happen or at least it gives my memory a good jog.
My Sims 3 story is tame compared to my story "Survival" in fanfiction.net (I wrote JAG fanfiction - my muse is sporadic especially when I have to kick my brain for content to a story, rather than seeing it play out in my game; that's why I probably wouldn't be able to make a great living as an author).

@Charlottesmom - Third person (or omniscient viewpoint) is extremely difficult to write in especially when the situations and characters are all ideas that you have to come up with yourself. What third person POV does is aids in character development, but you have to make sure that you develop each and every character in third person. First person tends to flow a lot better because it's really only one character that you have to worry about character development for because you're looking at the world through that one character's eyes.
For a writer there's four points of view
1. First Person POV - Usually "I" and it shows the world through that character's eyes.
2. Second Person POV - It's usually the story as told by another character to your character
3. Third Person limited - It usually focuses on one character's story told through the third person referring to "he/she".
4. Third Person omnisient - basically you have to focus on everybody...how each character develops through a story and how to drive character development for all since with the characters you don't want them to be in the same place as a character at the end of the story as they are in the beginning of the story.
It's been a while since I've written formally myself or have even touched my fanfiction stories. That's probably why I didn't become an author. The ideas don't flow quickly enough from my brain.
The most I've ever written to a sizeable novel length (it was fanfiction) is 105,000+ words and that took over 2 years to try to write that much. Much too slow to be an author, so your 1000 words a day is extremely impressive.
What I do tend to find useful is the use of spiral bound notebooks to keep ideas and concepts straight when I'm writing - at least it collects all my thoughts in one place and I don't have to go hunting through multiple concepts files on the computer to try to develop continuity in the story. Because it's so easy to lose continuity when you're writing a story. Just like in a movie you have to keep track of where your characters are at all times.

Hubby is back in hospital. Got home from work yesterday afternoon and he had low grade fever that quickly went to high fever so off to the ER we went and of course they do have to keep him. This is my second and final entry in the MTS Calendar Contest. I went with Winter because there's only one other TS3 entry in that category. You'll recognise the sims, they're Saville and Sun Young just with different hair. The plan was to have them ice skating together while looking up at fireworks. For some reason they just wouldn't spin together though so I changed gears and went for another idea that I think worked even better as I underestimated just how high fireworks are in the sky. There would be no way that I could capture a good angle of them spinning together and the fireworks too.

My sims would play catch all day if I let them. I will sometimes see the ball in a sim's queue and cancel the action before they get to their target.

Last night I was with the Hermans. I added another sublevel to the cult commune @lanlyn made from the Stone's Throw Greenhouse to put alchemy supplies and a few other knickknacks in. I'm going to have to remove a few seed spawners, too. Kiera and Ferby are expecting Baby No. 2, though I may have to induce labor a few hours early to ensure the baby is born on the full moon.
I'm also thinking about digging one or two saves out of my archives just to see if they're still viable.

All my boys seem to love the kids, even when they are not their own. My sims will often pick up and play with sim toddlers when they are visiting or at parties

It was Saturday and I had no idea what to do with the family so I had a look around in map view. I added picnic tables to one of the fishing spots and sent the family.
I didn't have to direct anyone because sims will always autonomously fish at fishing holes
Not sure if Pia is upset because she can't get to the fishing spot she wanted or because there's a fishing pole through her head
Jason, Paul and Josie chose to fish away from the others.
When I saw that Pia was not able to find herself a clear spot on the outcrop that Jay had chosen I had her join Josh.
Ian joined Jaxon and Jay.
The family fished for hours and many fish wishes were fulfilled
When all the spawners had been fished dry, I stopped them from fishing and they must have had enough because they were happy to find other things to do.

It is easier to find female hairs but I don't really look for them since I don't care for females. I just have enough for a little variety in my game.
I don't think any EA sim is fine the way the come, not even Connor, but that's me. My sims might not be to everyone's taste but they are to mine
I don't like any of the EA Asian sims at all! In fact, I don't like Asian sims even when I make them because there's something so unrealistic about sims looking Asian even after several generations. Being half Asian myself I know it doesn't work that way.

Been working hard on my ‘doubt it will ever get published’ story. I did get side tracked on another writing project for a few days but worked on the original story today. My husband set me a goal of 1,000 words per day and I’ve been happily exceeding it everyday. I was spoiled doing Sims stories as I leaned heavily on the pictures, I started writing out Secret Obsession and without pictures and writing in third person was becoming a chore so I switched to first person and if flowed much better. Set that aside for awhile, I’d rather work on the original story idea.
All in all writing is very fun, but it wears me out, I haven’t touched Sims for days. Read back about 7 pages here while listening to my new love BTS, they are a Korean boy band, I only found them because I was looking for inspiration for a Korean friend for one of my book characters on Pinterest (I like having a visual of characters I create), then wasted about 3 hours watching videos of them on youtube today...totally hooked! My 16 year old son Matthew is ready to disown me!!
@coco , If you ever need Lego pieces we have two huge tubs of spare parts, I’d be happy to look for you, but like you said replacement parts are usually pretty cheap. We have 2 of the Big Ben sets, one has been split up to be built one is still in the box (the husband always buys doubles, one to build one to keep). I HATE building big sets!!
I’ll attempt at least a bit of feedback tomorrow after I get a few thousand words banged out, writing is priority now. I do miss everyone here, and my Sims (actually I miss my Sims less than I thought I would, sorry my pixel loves).

Yesss let's talk about BTS. They have some great songs and music videos. I flew to Sydney back in 2017 to see them in concert. Lol, they do look a bit different than what I use, but they are the same. It might be due to the shade of blue, maybe.
@Brandontaylor A lot of shows have done that. They're good in the earlier seasons, but then later, it's as if the writers are running out of ideas, or they seem to be in a rush. The final season of True Blood had that rushed feel and certain plot points made no sense at all. I think they wanted to tie up loose ends, but didn't do it properly.

Usually when I'm preparing to have my household eat together, I designate one sim to cook dinner and serve the portions. (I have a mod that lets me do that.) While that's going on, I have the other sims do some other kind of chore that needs to be doing, or keep them busy with an activity so that they all don't go to the fridge and grab some leftovers.

Hope George can fix things. In my current household, Claude had a romantic interest with another sim before he started dating Luna. She didn't like it one bit when he wanted to be just friends.

I think that if I can handle Quadruplets in my game, I can handle Triplets.
And they're all such nice mixed genetics! No clones with this family! Even if they only inherit one feature from a parent, I still count that as a success.

Anyways, I recently discovered that I had him in a backed up SavedSims folder! I decided that I will be able to continue with my legacy as it's a spare's job to take over if something happens to the heir(ess). Obviously this will basically be a brand new legacy in a new world since it'll only been him as the rest of his family wasn't backed up, unfortunately, including his fiance, Beverly and their child. Yes, before my save got corrupted, he had gotten engaged to his teenage sweetheart, Beverly, and they had a little girl named Anisse (I think that's how it was spelled) with her. I've also decided to continue the legacy with a Supernatural twist. Greyson will be staying human, but he'll be marrying one of the Occult states that is able to bear children (so obviously no plumbots
There are other details to work out, such as a few handicaps I want to use in order to make the legacy more interesting and a bit challenging. One of them being that I want to do a Patriarchy, so that only the male offspring can inherit. I've never done one before and I also want to have the Behind The Times handicap, so very limited electronics. (No television, only the old fashioned stereo. I think Supernatural came with a nice one. The computer can only be used for writing. I actually downloaded a nice looking typewriter.)
I'll list more details and handicaps later on once I'm able to actually start up the legacy. Also, I'm not abandoning my current household. I'll also be posting updates with them too fairly regularly.

@MoonandStars83 -I doubt my SP settings would overclock a weak computer when they hardly even make a blip on my overpowered laptop and it's about six years old.I would just start working with heavily tuned and configured settings than me me play the game in a TS2 style rotational play which would be best for slower and weaker computers.I did it for other reasons like finding my saves kept getting corrupted and I tend to lose interest in games if I only play one family unless it's a short story.
@coco -It was done because winter was coming in the morning and they didn't want to risk being buried alive in their home all season.

Here's Sunset Valley2 in the middle of a raging blizzard as my sims were sleeping on the last night of fall.It hit the town overnight and they woke up on the first morning of winter to find themselves in the middle of a nasty blizzard.

I've been doing a lot of reading with regards to reports on what might happen after a nuclear holocaust (environmental, sociological, etc.) and they provide a good base of research for what could potentially happen or at least it gives my memory a good jog.
My Sims 3 story is tame compared to my story "Survival" in fanfiction.net (I wrote JAG fanfiction - my muse is sporadic especially when I have to kick my brain for content to a story, rather than seeing it play out in my game; that's why I probably wouldn't be able to make a great living as an author).

Psychoses start appearing and things tend to degenerate very quickly. Of course, that's too graphic for an EA forum.
@Charlottesmom - Third person (or omniscient viewpoint) is extremely difficult to write in especially when the situations and characters are all ideas that you have to come up with yourself. What third person POV does is aids in character development, but you have to make sure that you develop each and every character in third person. First person tends to flow a lot better because it's really only one character that you have to worry about character development for because you're looking at the world through that one character's eyes.
For a writer there's four points of view
1. First Person POV - Usually "I" and it shows the world through that character's eyes.
2. Second Person POV - It's usually the story as told by another character to your character
3. Third Person limited - It usually focuses on one character's story told through the third person referring to "he/she".
4. Third Person omnisient - basically you have to focus on everybody...how each character develops through a story and how to drive character development for all since with the characters you don't want them to be in the same place as a character at the end of the story as they are in the beginning of the story.
It's been a while since I've written formally myself or have even touched my fanfiction stories. That's probably why I didn't become an author. The ideas don't flow quickly enough from my brain.
The most I've ever written to a sizeable novel length (it was fanfiction) is 105,000+ words and that took over 2 years to try to write that much. Much too slow to be an author, so your 1000 words a day is extremely impressive.
What I do tend to find useful is the use of spiral bound notebooks to keep ideas and concepts straight when I'm writing - at least it collects all my thoughts in one place and I don't have to go hunting through multiple concepts files on the computer to try to develop continuity in the story. Because it's so easy to lose continuity when you're writing a story. Just like in a movie you have to keep track of where your characters are at all times.

This is my second and final entry in the MTS Calendar Contest. I went with Winter because there's only one other TS3 entry in that category. You'll recognise the sims, they're Saville and Sun Young just with different hair. The plan was to have them ice skating together while looking up at fireworks. For some reason they just wouldn't spin together though so I changed gears and went for another idea that I think worked even better as I underestimated just how high fireworks are in the sky. There would be no way that I could capture a good angle of them spinning together and the fireworks too.
Now for some silly pictures. It's like something out of a cheesy B movie
