@CravenLestat
Just one question.
Why were you walking barefoot in the snow to school??
Resident Evil is pretty cool. I haven't played it myself, but I've watched some Let's Plays of the earlier games.
@coco Just one of those things the old timers like my mom and dad say to show times were harder back in the day and a whipper snapper like me wouldn't understand. Is not literal just a saying.
This talk about walking to school barefoot in the snow brings back memories. For example, when I was in primary school I lived in the country and the school had only one teacher and 26 students in all classes and it was quite common for kids to go to school without shoes. It was the hot tropics though and a long time ago now.
Then there is my son, at the age of 21 he flew out of a FNQ city in February (heat wave - temps of 38 deg C or more) wearing singlet and shorts and sandals. Arrived in USA in blizzard - or so the story goes. He was there for 3 months to go to uni at Notre Dame in Indiana. When he came home I got him off the plane on his return and he filled the car up with his luggage. He'd done a lot of clothes shopping while over there.
By the way - I've just finished the narration for the next episode of Caroline and Friends. I was surprised to see she didn't do any patroling of the beach at all in this episode. She was busy setting up other badges. We see the houseboat for the first time and Hobarts Resort which she had to run for 7 days as a zero star resort. This episode will show what I did to it to make it zero star. It's rendering at the moment. I'll listen through it and then if it's ok I'll load it. It only runs for a few seconds under 18 minutes so it isn't a really long video.
If anyone wants to download the Destiny of the Sea - a houseboat built by @blunote00 back when Island Paradise was released I finally found it on the Exchange.
And thanks to those who responded to my question about streaker arrests. I didn't think arrests would happen too often. Of course, the way some of those students hit the juice keg, a night in the slammer might do them a world of good! At least they'd get an uninterrupted night's sleep and a decent meal while there!
_______
@Mikezumi I liked your Uni updates, but it's also good to see your whole household again! ...Fun trampoline shot! ...Congrats on little Morna. Agree about the jaw! But she's a cutie. Now the toddler training begins! ...Good seeing Sam again. ...Your second family photo came out great, but the first one was fun too. ...Niall looks like a model. ...I had one sim get arrested for doing wall murals without permission, but never for streaking. I've never had my sims try streaking either. They keep those sorts of activities private!
@Karritz Sometimes when things go wrong with the sims, you just have to laugh and play along! There have been times I've restarted and other times not. And I've pretty much stopped worrying what townies do or what they wear! If it's too bad, I do a Stylist fix on them, but usually I don't--or I'd be spending my whole game time fixing their hair and clothes! ...I like your dark-haired mermaid. And the scale colors are a pretty combo. ...Great pics of the evil child appearing from the well. Glad she turned out not to be so bad.
...Sorry for your computer/email issues, but I hope things are good now. Yesterday, Windows 10 did an update, so that took me some time to deal with. Updates always affect my Sims 3 game. I have to edit the Options.ini file to get my settings back to what they were. I always keep a back up of that file ready for graphics or Windows updates.
@Charlottesmom What a great gift @emorrill found for you! ...LOL at the dinosaur on the roof. Too bad we don't have a King Kong sculpture! ...Lots of good-looking guys in those screenshots! ...I don't think I've ever used that sleeping machine. It's a lifetime reward? ... And another extra Claire bites the dust! ...Good luck with the IF aging up.
@CravenLestat Those patterns look great on the bedspreads! And backpacks.
@king_of_simcity7 Lovely sunset. ...Yikes! Dom is upping the stakes! ...If I were Jason I'd be confused too! ...Poor Jason just can't seem to impress Cassie at all! Certainly not with his bowling skills.
@Vincent_Vengeance I like Crowley's new hair color. He looks so soft and cuddly too.
@PalmArrow Well, they do say doctors make the worst patients! ...LOL at the patient lying on the bed with pie on his face! Maybe he had an allergic reaction to the berries! ...Sounds like Hugh developed a crush on Tamsin during his treatment! ...Nice fall screenshot.
I've spent some time getting several outtakes posted to my blog. Now I'm ready for the story line updates. There's been a big event happen in my Mountian Lake game. Hamish has aged up to toddler!
But for now, just some odds and ends.
A few more shawl pics, then I'm done with that experiment!
The texture seems to look better on a YA than on an Elder. Gran's shawls are stretched a little.
The shawls still look kind of neat though.
Here is an example of the smaller scarf. It's shorter in front and in back than the medium sized scarf that I showed Mayra wearing a few posts back.
I checked on Cexavu. He was working on his fixer-upper car again. He'll have that finished soon. And he's no longer a Tragic Clown.
Gran and Erle socializing and building logic.
So many things to upgrade!
Upper body strength! I don't make any of my sims work out for long--not unless they're athletic and like to do it. I try to stay close to each sim's trait preferences in assigned activities.
@Karritz The Destiny of the Sea houseboat is a really nice build. Thanks for sharing the link. I'll have to keep it in mind. Great colors and design work.
@king_of_simcity7 Where I live, as long as there isn't a blizzard, kids go to school no matter how much snow. The district doesn't consider canceling school unless the temp drops lower than -50 °F. And the kids are expected to go outside for recess as long as the temp is -20 °F or above. We raise 'em tough in Alaska!
I guess that as Alaska is ‘northern’ you get a similer lifestyle to Scandinavia where snow does not bother them.
In Britain snow drives everyone mad. Anyone who can afford it or at least get away with it will take a day off and then complain when everywhere else is closed
Fife wished to fish before 6am. His wish is my command since his life bar is nearly full Not that I would have cancelled the wish anyway
He caught a rainbow trout before going back to bed.
I couldn't see Sam in the rocking chair but I knew where to look. Sure enough, he was heading to Morna
She seemed happy to meet her great grandpa
Ghosts never put toddlers back in cribs!
Sam turned on the stereo and danced for the rest of the night.
As the others were making the beds, I sent Niall out to tend to Morna's needs.
Sam was still dancing when the family came to breakfast and I loved how he turned to watch them
Brett's waking wish was to weed the plants.
Niall had all the Morna wishes! I had him play with her before teaching her how to talk.
I sent Cain out to garden since Niall would be busy with Morna for a while. He rolled a wish to level up when he watered a plant. Brett was trying to get to Fife but seemed to have forgotten where the door was and stood by the wall stomping his foot! Being of a similar age, I understand his confusion
@coco Thanks for the lovely comments
I used to get very scared when my sims jumped on the trampoline but now I realize that the worst that can happen is a small negative moodlet if they fall off.
I don't think Morna will ever grow into that jaw fully
Sims are amazing how they are up for anything immediately after giving birth. I often see sims going shopping immediately after I got a popup they had a baby!
There are too many adults but the kids will start coming now
After playing with Morna, Niall got started on teaching her how to talk.
It took a while but she got the hang of it
Euan's waking wish was to watch the Cooking Channel and Greg's was to spar with someone. Euan got his wish while Greg cooked some spaghetti, a wish he had rolled the previous day. When he was done I sent them to the park so he could have his spar.
When I went looking for Fife and Brett to send them to the park they were in the middle of woohooing. I let them finish before sending them. When I checked a little later, I could see they didn't need me
When Morna could talk, it was time to finish off the potty training.
When I checked on the boys at the park, I found Greg surfing the web and Euan chatting with some child. I think he may be distantly related. Brett and Fife were still loving it up
When Cain finished gardening he went to the board breaker. He didn't get far because I sent him to the park with Morna and Niall when the potty training was done. Cain chatted with an old friend, Melonie Herrera. Greg rolled a wish to give her a friendly introduction so I sent him over. Niall got started on the walking lessons because toddlers only get two days so skilling needs to be done quickly.
I saw Beitris heading out with her kids, Darnell and Stella. Both had birthdays later that day.
@CravenLestat My mother used to give me the "I walked to school barefoot in the snow" when I was a kid. I think there might have been an "uphill" thrown in for good measure
@Nikkei_Simmer My father would take us out to the countryside while he hunted and my mother would have us collect mushrooms and bracken. I don't remember mum boiling the bracken but I do remember it drying on racks in the backyard for later consumption.
Our outings always involved gathering for my mother's exotic tastes A day at the beach wasn't meant for swimming - dad would go to the rocks and get abalone and we kids would walk through the water, wriggling our toes to collect pipis or to the base of the pier to collect mussels.
@lanlyn Thanks for the lovely comments I've also had a sim arrested for doing wall murals. It's good to be back with the family but it makes the day so slow to play with so many sims to keep tabs on.
I think I once had a sim who streaked autonomously but it hasn't happened since, thankfully.
The shawl doesn't work well on elders - such a pity as they need shawls more than young 'uns
I bet Cexavu is happy to be back to his old self.
Good to see Gran and Erle spending time together
I also don't make my non-athletic sims work out unless they wish it or they need the athletic skill for a particular purpose.
I noticed that Brett had rolled a wish to take a photo with a friend so I had him take a romantic photo with Fife
Morna can now walk
Cain didn't get his wish to take Morna for a stroll the previous day. He got his chance once Morna was skilled
When he got home, I realized the potty chair hadn't been emptied. Lucky Cain
I found Greg and Euan in the basement Euan looked very excited!
Fife and Brett had also been woohooing in the elevator. I am glad they got the timing right because I have had couples get stuck when they have tried to use the elevator at the same time.
Niall and Cain were smarter and used a bed. Elevator woohoo doesn't fill the fun bar like bed woohoo does.
I heard the unmistakable squeal of a sim jumping into another's arms and found it was Cain and Niall.
Although I don't care for the interaction, I do love the "dismount"
Sizzling!
Niall got his notice
While Niall was getting his notice Cain was breaking boards.
Niall got his wish to take Morna for a stroll
When Niall got back from his stroll, he announced the pregnancy.
At least there is a brief look of excitement before the lame thumb up.
The family had Brett's favourite, stir fry, for dinner
Get out of the way, kid! You're blocking the view
Fife must have asked Brett while they were still in the dining area.
Cain and Niall watched the stars after a quick skinny dip
Niall got a craving for spaghetti. Cain got Morna ready for bed while he got his wish.
This wouldn't have happened if you'd just carried her, Cain!
Greg and Euan, when not woohooing, can usually be found on the MA equipment.
It seems that Brett asked Fife this time
Again!? I can't tell you how many times I cancel attempts to watch the stars. I am happy to allow one or two but it can get a bit old.
Niall rolled a wish for a massage so I had Cain take care of that before they went to bed.
Retuner is not perfect! I did tune burglars out and they do come rarely but there must be another less obvious option that I need to find.
At least the cop got there quickly and took care of her.
Euan had "fight" in his queue but never actually got outside.
@ilikethesims30 Very good likeness. I had to google him. He is very handsome.
@lanlyn I like the smaller scarf. I might have to go back and get that.
Cexavu certainly looks better as an alien than with the tragic clown imposed over him. Hope he gets his life straightened out.
Lovely to see Gran and Erle socializing and getting to know each other.
note to self start page 2634 after Lanlyn's update. Sorry, running out of time and starting work early this morning. Will finish comments later.
@Nikkei_Simmer My family was so lucky. So many people we know lost entire houses. Lives.
One man took shelter in his car, and a tree fell on it and killed him, another girl also got killed in her car.
Our family friend had to take his entire family to hotel after a tree ripped through their brand new home.
My dad's boss' grandfather has a scary story: The only room in his house that survived was the one he was sitting in. Thank god he was okay.
It usually takes us 7 minutes to get home from my mums work. Thanks to trees and emergencies everywhere, it took us 1.5 hours. Thats right, hours.
It's crazy, like all the trees have no heads anymore. No heads on the trees. They're just broken off. Just lines of headless, decapitated trees. It's gross.
I play Sims 2, Sims 3, Sims 4, and The Urbz: Sims in the City on gamecube and ds. Main Game: Sims 3
My new simmy she is my Russian spy Svetlana Kolov, one regret is sims did not make eyepatches.Wanted to do a German girl but would be sweet with a eyepatch.I know there is CC ones but wish the store had made one and was really disappointed Barnacle Bay (Pirate based) did not have a male and female eyepatch GRRRRRR!!!

And my parents, just to teach me that life was hard, well...they picked these from the side of the road and boiled them...and that was our meal.
They weren't bad, especially if they were eaten with sugar and soy-sauce to counter the bitter taste.
Always "River McIrish" ...and maybe some Bebe Hart. ~innocent expression~
