Oh my gosh! I leave the Sims 3 store/forum for a few days and come back to the lovely surprise of my (admittedly small) wishlist being completely wiped out! Thank you to @rionismyname for the lovely Taft Jug with Flowers, and many, many, many thanks to @Reachsims for gifting me the Hideaway Bunk Bed, Bountiful Beret, Pert Pixie Cut, Coffee Tray with Book Accents, and Born Beautiful Dress. Everybody here is so wonderful!
I usually just use my Wishlist as a reminder to myself of a few things I'd really like to have, but don't buy because I focus my energy/points into the items on DD or weekly sale. I mostly keep them up there in the hope that someone will occasionally be kind enough to splurge for my poor self and help me work towards the CYS discount for sets that rarely go on sale. So seeing my wishlist vanish so suddenly is like a miniature Christmas! Once again, many thanks and happy Sim-ing!
Adding on to this, @angeljess26 came along and pretty much wiped out my attempts to create another wish list no more than two hours later! Oh my gosh! I just can't get over how generous everyone is. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
P.S. I know this isn't the "proper" thread for thanking people, but I don't know a good "official" place to do that. Does anyone have any tips?
@Readalot1 you are most welcome for the gifts. You might be interested in participating in the Gifting Directory which is also a very convenient place to thank others for gifts, as countless others have done before. Have a great weekend and enjoy your game.
The bit where you said 'I only had the wishlist to remind myself' is an oft repeated reaction to it vanishing, I know, it happened to me. I was amazed at the generosity of fellow Simmers, especially DD list stalkers. Beware though, it's addictive.

You may want to pick a couple of sets you're working towards and put up items from them, now that you're talking here wishlists can disappear quickly, especially when people get in a gifting mood.
You can try making your own thank you thread in the gift giving and thank yous section of the forums

I'd seen the Cascades thread before - I think it's linked on the first page of this thread, but I've trawled through so many pages now I can't remember anymore :P The Complete a Set thread was interesting though. I made a post, and hopefully between that and the Gifting Directory I'll really be able to put a dent in some things - thanks again for the link!

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend It's a long weekend here where I live so we're staying at a friends cottage so trying not to be on my phone much. I couldn't help but notice the Sims games lying on my friend's desk. Their daughter recently got them for her birthday. I started going on and on about the game and all the ep's and sp's. The kid's eyes glazed over. Not sure if it's because she didn't realize there was so much stuff available or because this "old mom" played the game lol! I briefly mentioned the store but decided I didn't want to get her "hooked" on it. She is a bit willful and I'm afraid her parents might get annoyed and not invite me back lol

Thanks! The grades are officially in and I earned As in both courses. I don't know if I'll ever do another intensive language class over the summer, it was quite grueling, but I think it was worth it in the end.

Keep trying @VGryphon I don't own any of the gold worlds (except Midnight Hollow) and the exclusives eventually showed up. Just be careful...after so many bad deals I was conditioned to hit the "make another offer" button and missed a free exclusive twice because of that prolonging the process
