Hello @ElaineofShalott .
You nearly have the required number of points, but just also need to have some more posts. Congratulations on the 5th anniversary badge! It is nice that you have been simming since Sims 2. You would have enjoyed spending many fun hours simming over the time.
Happy simming!
It just seems like this system is designed to turn people into the very thing you are trying to stop or drive them away. I want to ask a question but I can't start a new thread. My only choices are to go somewhere else or to spam meaningless comments until I hit thirty posts? You don't even have a search a category function to make it possible to find another thread where I could add my question and have it be remotely on topic.
Hello @ElaineofShalott
If you are having an issue with playing your game, you may like to post your issue in either of these two threads that have been set up for new members .
Perhaps a thread for new member questions in each category pinned to the top would alleviate my frustration. My questions are about certain kinds of CC and things like that and I can't seem to find appropriate threads in the relevant categories. I'm not trying to be nasty I'm just feeling so frustrated with the forums I don't even want to play the game right now.

Thanks but that was just one example. I guess at this point I am so frustrated I should just go away for a few months until I forget that the excessively restrictive rules on the Sims 3 forums were the whole reason I skipped that game.
Welcome to all the new members, and as I do occasionally, I "Trolled" this page and gave you all a "like" an "awesome" and an "Insightful"! Happy simming all, and hope you become full members soon!
finally a proper explanation, a little frustrating but i guess it's a good thing for the community
Hello @harveyjames7 Welcome to the forums!
Try posting in the different sections of the forums and you will soon have the required posts and points to become a full member.
Happy simming!
Very frustrating system for us less social posters(A.K.A. NOT TROLLS) and I don't see how it really stops trolls, since all they have to do is spend a few hours spamming the site with posts... Maybe start a flame or two. I mean really trolls post a lot it's what they do, so this wouldn't really stop them only make it harder to cause trouble, but not for long.
Meanwhile I still can't change my image, post a link, or have a signature after 2 years b/c I've been REALLY inactive in that time nor am I very active in forums normally. At least I'm not getting blocked on how many post I can make in a given time slot. I think that happened when I first got on?
I don't think I can preview a post either, by the way. Or is that just bugginess on my end? Nor edit my posts after posting.
There has to be a better system... At least let gallery activity somehow affect the forums New Member banishment to some degree. and maybe unblock the user icon & post editing sooner? That's not really something you need to stop a troll accessing.
Still, at least this is one more post down. I'll probably be a New Member for a few years yet though... -sigh-
Hello @xKindredxSoulsx .

I thought as much about the edits.
Trouble is I just don't have the energy to spam post sections. I talk when I have something to say. It's sort of frustrating that I am being penalized for what is basically the desired behavior and I think there has to be a better system, but I do get it.
I'm also active in a challenge right now, so will probably get the required posts before long, but the points are more challenging. Oh, well.
Thank you, though. And I liked you a few times on here for being helpful to people by the way.

Actually this system works just fine for rooting out those trolls. All trolls do is post things that is against the forum rules or they just come here to harass others but that soon gets taken care of and they are banned in no time. We also had some spambots that kept trying to making threads advertising a site that was all in Korean but those too get taken care of in no time.
Sadly this is the way it is and I really don't see the SimGurus/Staff changing the requirements for full membership anytime soon.
It's been suggested having people register a Sims game like we used to do on the old forums before we have access to anything but the SimGurus/Staff don't want to do that since not everyone plays TS4 or even TS3 but still play the old TS, TS2 and TSM games. So not everyone would have a code to a Sims game as they had already used those codes on the old forums. So the Gurus/Staff don't think that it would be fair for those who don't have the codes for the newer games to not be able to have access to the forums if there was some type of game registration.
As for game registration, this may workwork if considered as an optional alternative to the current system rather than a replacement. It could actually be a helpful system improvment. It would certainly be less frustrating for users who are no longer new, but not very active.
I definately see how it would be a problem if it were the only option though. Not only for users like you mentioned, but also for mulit-simmer households. We have that problem in our house. I had to register a sims 3 game to get an account on the sims 3 site and only one was left unregistered from my mothers account by the time I got around to making one. Now we're sharing an account to play Sims 4 b/c I haven't yet figured out how to get them registered to both and I think I will have to pester Origin and see if they can on their end.
Anyways, I do see what you mean, it could be a major issues if registration was the only way.
I need to post a question on the technical help forum but I'm considered a new member? I've been a member of the sims 2 and sims 3 forum for years and now you have to jump through hoops to get any sort of help? I don't understand why I can't just ask the community for help with my problem since they sometimes offer better assistance than the EA chat... which I have already contacted and as I thought, they tried but my problem remains. The guy ended up telling me to wait 2 -3 hours to see if my problem would go away, no idea how that could help. Ignore it and it will go away? Umm, okay then... I tried and no, it's still there over 12 hours later. I can no longer log into my sims game when IN game so I cannot use simport or post to my player wall on the sims 3. I've become so frustrated and I just want to have fun with my game again... as one should since a game is meant to be fun yet this one has driven me to tears for the last several days over what should be a simple fix.
Maybe this is the end of my simming days. I've loved this game for many years but posting to my wall and telling stories is how I play now, if I can't do that, I can't enjoy the game. I'm sorry to post this hear, I am simply desperate for help.
