Hello Simmers!
I thought I'd run a little Christmas competition again, as I really enjoyed seeing your festive sim pictures last year! All you need to enter is one Sims 3 screenshot with a festive theme.
To enter:
Take
one screenshot with a festive theme and post it in this thread. One entry per person. Please post the actual picture along with your name and one sentence to describe your entry.
Deadline:
The deadline will be 10.00 pm (UK time) on Tuesday 17 December. A friend and I will look at all the pictures and post the winner later that week.
Topic of picture:
You can make it a traditional Christmas scene or just a general party picture. We don't all celebrate Christmas so there's no need for it to be focused on that particular holiday as long as it is something cheerful and fun! If you love the snow and want to make the most of Seasons, then go right ahead. Simmers in the southern hemisphere are welcome to go for a summery beach scene instead if that makes more sense during your summer. Just take a great Sims 3 screenshot and post it here for a chance to win.
I'd prefer not too much in the way of photoshopping and there won't be extra points for fancy editing. A simple picture has just as much of a chance of winning.
If you are short of inspiration, have a look at last year's entries:
http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/620370.pagePrizes:
Our favourite festive picture will win gifts from the Store totalling up to
1000 simpoints. Second place prize will be 100 SP of Store items.
Have fun and get snapping!

It's only fair that I start (no, I won't award myself the prize, don't worry). This was a festive picture I took last year, featuring me and some other simselves having a Yuletide feast because, for me, Christmas is all about the food!
Looking forward to seeing your entries!

It's a simple competition for a bit of fun and the chance of a few extra sim points for Christmas shopping. Hopefully we'll see some nice screenshots from people's games!

Right now it's the first day of fall in my game but I should hopefully get a nice cute Christmas photo of my Future Sim and her present boyfriend soon and if that fails then I'll share a picture of my mermaid family at Christmas time

This is a picture I took last year of my simself and husband before I got the Seasons ep.

I'll have to go in game later, then conjure up a cute little festive screenshot.
Is it all right if I used the same Sims as last year's screenshot? They'll have their family and friends in the picture too, if that's acceptable.
Part One(Complete 9/24/16) /Part Two(on hold)/Short Stories(on hold)/Twinbrook 1996(on hold)/Ten Crystal Hearts (on hold)
I own the TS3 Store as of 12/11/16 (sort of. It's complicated)
Happy holidays everyone! (:

Thank you to the entrants so far! I'm adding them to the second post as we go along. It should make a nice festive gallery by the end!
Keep 'em coming simmers!

Hi rednenemon, yes by all means use the same sims. It's an informal competition so there's no problem using sims or sets that are already made for other purposes or just from a current game save. I'd disqualify if it was exactly the same picture as last year's competition, but if it's the same sims in a different shot, that's fine. Have fun.
Sure, why not?!
You have a couple of weeks to present your screenshot. Have fun!
First, I'm going to preface this by saying this is my first real picture I've ever taken in game (and I've been playing since Sims 2 came out), so this might not be good. At all.
Without further ado, here's my vision of Christmas in Australia, based on some rather hazy but real (and ridiculous) memories from when I was little:
kellycot1 --
The hot sun, beautiful beaches, surfing, ridiculous Christmas decorations everywhere that look totally out of place without snow (but boy are they pretty) and, of course, Surfing Santa -- all the things that make Christmas in Australia (or rather Sunlit Tides) special!
Now, it was a total nightmare to get this photo. I'd tried to give him that little Santa hat to complete my 'vision' a little better, but, much to my horror, it's not available for swimwear (which kind of makes sense, but still). I'd tried making Surfing Santa insane, but he just wanted to wear formalwear instead of his adorable board shorts and Santa hat combo. Here's another picture (not to be judged) of what I TRIED to get on the surfboard:
That's Santa enjoying some good old-fashioned milk. Looking at his expression, I'm guessing I left that milk out in the sun a little too long.
Anyway, that's my best and first attempt at a photo competition, ever! Is it against some kind of picture competition code to post this elsewhere, too? I saw the SimGuru Snowflake Day sticky in General Discussion and thought I might post this there as well, or one of the other ones I took of my Australia themed Christmas (rain and rainbows included). Would that be okay?
