    0ojoyo0,

I looked but did not see anything better and 6GB of Ram is fine for running Sims 3 and fine in general.

That Graphics card is amazing in my opinion and you can upgrade the HD to a 7200 RPM drive for less then 100 on Newegg as well as the Ram.

Windows 8 is decent, at first I was cautious about Win 8 but after trying it and playing with it I rather like it an you might to. Or if you really don't like it you can put on Windows 7 when you upgrade the HD.

Anyway you can upgrade the Ram and Hd for about 130 to 150 bucks when your ready that's my plan. I just bought some Ram Thurs for my new Laptop and it will be here Mon.

I would go with that Laptop and don't worry about the HD and Ram both are fine for Sims 3 and you will be able to easily run the game on all High to Very High settings, I think it's a decent deal myself. An if you do get it can you post images? I would love to see the graphics in Sims 3 with the NVIDIA GeForce GT 730M.

Thanks, Illyianna2005! Yeah, I think I am pretty happy with the specs for that price, so I'm going to go for it. Anything that I'm not happy with is easily fixed. I have Windows 8 on my HTPC, and I'm not too crazy about it. I just skip Metro altogether and use the desktop with a Win 7 start menu I downloaded online. Which is probably what I'll do with this laptop. I'll order sometime this week, so I can spend the weekend setting up my game. Thanks for reassuring me that the HD and RAM are ok.. that way I'm not in too much of a hurry to upgrade. I'll definitely post pics when I get it up and running.

Hi, I am going to get a laptop soon to play The Sims 3, and I came across this one but I amen't very computer savvy so I was wondering if someone could tell me whether the specs of this laptop could run all EPs and SPs without lag. And if it could run with the highest graphic settings. Thanks.

By the way, if it can't run Sims 3, because I hear lots of speculation about the intel graphics card, which i dont understand, then can you please suggest other laptops for me, that would run sims 3 and all the EPs and SPs well. By the way my budget is 700euro, I live in Ireland. THANKS A MILLION. <3

    Cod4Life,

Can you tell me the site you shop on so I can look for you? An no to this Laptop, stay away from Intel Graphics they run Sims 3 terrible. I'll see what I can find for you. I found two that would be good for Sims 3.

    Acer - http://www.elara.ie/productdetail.aspx?productcode=MME8654E43

I picked this one because it has NVIDIA GeForce 710M - 2 GB, I've never used this card but to me that would give you Sims 3 on all High settings. My only concern for this one is the 4GB of Ram which runs Sims 3 and can easily be upgraded for more Ram later I just like 6 to 8GB of Ram in my Laptops. 15.6 screen is good, I use it and I like playing Sims 3 on it.

    TOSHIBA - http://www.elara.ie/productdetail.aspx?productcode=RO10PSKFWE02000REN

After I found this one, it is a bit more however it is worth it, it gives you 8GB of Ram and it is DDR3 which is fast, the 750 HD would be good storage size and it offers a AMD Radeon HD 7670M - 2 GB which is a great card and will let you run Sims 3 on all high settings.

Both should offer no lag and run all Expansions, this was the best I found so far.

Hey there Cod4Life! Illyianna has recommended you nice laptops all with dedicated graphics which is crucial for playing Sims 3 smoothly. Always remember, you can upgrade memory (RAM) & hard drive speed anytime you want but you can never upgrade your graphics card on a laptop. With that being said, you should be on the look out for the best graphics card you can possibly find within your budget. Here's one I've found:
    http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Samsung_550P_COREI5-3210_15.6_8GB_1TB_W7H_NP550P5C-S04UK/version.asp
    - 15.6 in - 1366 x 768
    - Intel Core i5 3210M (up to 3.1GHz)
    - 8 GB RAM (very nice amount)
    - 1 TB hard drive (more than enough)
    - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (good for if you don't want to deal with Sims 3 on the new Windows 8)
    - NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M (will play on all high settings with all expansion packs, I have this graphics card so if you want me to post more pics I will)
    - €679.27
    - Ships to Ireland

I think this laptop is perfect. It has the best graphics card out of all the other laptops mentioned, better than AMD Radeon HD 7670M & NVIDIA GeForce 710M. You can also read the reviews for it by others but this laptop should cover all your simming needs.

Here's some images from my game with the NVIDIA GeForce 650M:
    screenshot246q.png

    screenshot228v.png

If you do happen to choose the laptop with AMD Radeon HD 7670M, it will look similar to the HD 7640G + 7670M Dual Graphics, which someone has done the survey on.

And the NVIDIA GeForce 710M is worse than that. The NVIDIA GeForce GT 730M however is better than the NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M. Sometimes the series number has no correlation with how high-end the graphics card is.

Newegg does not ship overseas, I'd go with the one Summer linked it's perfect. If I could have found a Laptop with a 650M for a good price I would have got it. Also 1TB is great for storage and to get a 650M for $580 is a steal.

HECK YES IT WOULD. My first laptop ever was with an Intel HD Graphics (worse than Intel HD Graphics 3000 or 4000) and it was $700 with tax... looking at the wonderful laptops with nice graphics card newegg offers within that price makes me want to bang my head against the wall for being so, so stupid & uneducated back then. Best Buy seriously rips you off and their customer service is a joke. Half the time they couldn't explain anything to me. All they said was, "Oh yeah, uh huh it should play Sims 3." I got the 650M for $931 including tax, and this was when it was on "sale"... But I did have a screen upgrade & got a backlit keyboard. Come to think of it... same specs as this... but mine is from HP... ripped off again. I don't know if I should get my money ready for Black Friday this year, they seriously have sick deals on laptops. There was a 640M on sale for $450 on Amazon!!

I'll be ordering that laptop this week (hopefully tomorrow morning), and if things go a-okay, I'll tell you how it runs. If you do go with that laptop, there's a £15 coupon if you sign up to Which? (which you can cancel at any point, its on a £1 for a month trial). I just signed up and got my coupon straight away. :) The coupon expires two days after signing up so do it when you know you'll be purchasing the laptop.

Hi there! Wow okay, are you planning to do anything besides simming? Because your laptop is an overkill. If you don't mind cutting down a few hundred bucks, I recommend:
    Sager NP9170
    - 17.3” Full HD (1920x1080) 90% NTSC Color Gamut Glossy LED-Backlit Display (AU OB173HW01 V4)
    - nVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M 256bit w/4.0GB GDDR5
    - Intel Core i7-3740QM (2.7~3.7GHz) w/6M L3 Cache - 4 Cores - 8 Threads (the Intel Core i7-3840QM is not worth upgrading to as you'll be paying over double to get .1GHz more)
    - IC Diamond Thermal Compound - CPU + GPU
    - 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3/1600 Dual Channel Memory
    - 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive (I recommend getting a 7,200 RPM for significant improvement in boot up time, unless you're a hard core video editor, etc that requires 1TB of space)
    - 6x Blu-Ray Reader/8x Super Multi Combo Drive
    - Windows 7 Premium - (64-Bit installed - 64 and 32-bit CD included)
    - Special Promotion - $50 OFF - For Orders of $1,350+
$2229.00 + free shipping + no tax (unless in Nevada)

The site also has stellar reviews from customers just in case you needed reassurance.

Whether you decide on your laptop or the second one, they will both run Sims 3 flawlessly with all expansion & stuff packs with gigabytes of cc, you'll also be well prepared for Sims 4 as long as you keep it in good condition :P

I want to get through sims 4 easily without getting a new laptop because Ive been in a position where ive had to upgrade every 2 years lol.

The hard drive though is something I cant change, I have a 1.5terabye now and do a lot of heavy photo edititng and store a lot of movies/music/photos.

I will consider dropping the processor down though, then I can add an extra heat sink. I just wanted to make sure the graphics card and the processor would be well matched. I have 2.2 i7 now and wanted to definitely upgrade so it would last me a while! I know that .1ghz isnt much, but in the long run do you think cache downgrade will effect anything? The 2.8 has an 8M cache and the .7 has a 6M cache.

The price doesnt seem that high to me because I was considering an alienware before I heard of sager and alienware are like 4x the price! lol.

Lol yeah, avoid Alienware at all cost. You'll pretty much be paying for its prettiness rather than what'll come with it. However, Sager will come with a backlit keyboard :D The 680M is more than enough, you literally can't get any better than that. It's the best NVIDIA graphics card in the market as of now. You don't need to worry about whether the processor & graphics card will match, both i7-3740QM or i7-3840QM will go fine with the card. You should also consider MSI, they make nice, high quality gaming laptops as well. To be honest, I don't think the requirements for Sims 4 will go up by a lot. Right now the minimum is 2.4GHz, I'm guessing it'll go up to 2.8GHz-3.0GHz for Sims 4. The average consumer barely owns a processor higher than 3.1GHz for laptops, I'm not sure for desktops but the highest for them is 3.9GHz, which I'm sure EA won't make near a minimum requirement of anytime soon. So I highly suggest you save that money and do other upgrades. Lol you won't be needing to worry about any cache downgrade for a good couple of years to come, those i7 processors are the latest.

We also have someone whose done the survey on the 680M.
