The Realm of the Warriors - RPG

1150655_sign.jpg

Welcome to the Realm of the Warriors. It's not anything like it sounds to be, of course. It's a Realm like any other, with bustling cities, beautiful forests, lakes and oceans and mountains and deserts...the special thing about the Realm, though, is that it is filled with dragons.

This is a very odd thing, seeing as the Realm doesn't have many other magical creatures. A tribe of elves lives in the forests of Agluyamay, a herd of unicorns exist in the meadows of the region of Varafen, but dragons exist all throughout the Realm.

The dragons of the Realm are very special. They are all unique. All dragons are elemental - air, earth, fire, water, light, and dark. The rarest of all dragons is the spirit dragon, a dragon that controls something other than one of the six elements. Oddly enough, spirit dragons are being found more and more often lately...but they are still rare.

Dragons come in every shape and size imaginable. Some are large and threatening, others are small and cute. All dragons, however, have the ability to form a Bond with a human.

To form a Bond with a dragon, a human must first socialize with it. The dragon is the one that essentially chooses whether or not a Bond should be formed with the human. Most dragons have only a few select people with whom they will choose to form a Bond, and many humans find themselves rejected by the dragons they had hoped to Bond with.

When a dragon decides to form a Bond with a human, it drops a ring on the ground between itself and the human. Where the rings come from, nobody knows. Some of the rings are simple, others are ornate and decorative. All the rings correspond to their specific dragon's colour - a green earth dragon will likely drop a ring of emerald, while a red fire dragon will drop one of ruby or garnet. When the human wears the ring, the Bond is in effect.

The Bond is a very powerful thing. It allows the human and the dragon to sense one anothers' emotions. They always know where one another are located within the Realm, and they know when they are needed by one another.
The Realm requires all Bonded humans and dragons to attend the Academy of Dragon Warriors, located in the middle of the Realm. While some Bonded humans and their dragons choose not to, most journey to the Academy to become Dragon Warriors. If Bonded humans and dragons are discovered that aren't Dragon Warriors, they are sent to work somewhere they'll be useful.

Well, here we are! Welcome to the Realm. You can choose between being any of the following:
Dragon Warriors
Dragon Warrior in training
Bonded Human/Dragon
Unbonded Human/Dragon

Stop! Before you look at the rules, read this!
The rules may look length and detailled, and probably very strict, but they aren't! The rules outline not just things that should not be done, but also things that should be done - regulations and protocol. They explain how things work in The Realm. You may need to read them a few times over so you catch everything. I promise, reading these rules will help things to run smoothly in the Realm... promise...

    1. These rules were made to be followed. You must follow them. Failure to abide by these rules will result in...something.

    2. God-modding is not permitted in the Realm. If you don't know what god-modding is, click here for a brief description. If that doesn't help, ask for clarification.

    3. When you have a question or need something clarified, ask.

    4. Please be kind, courteous, polite and respectful to others. While your characters might not get along, you have no right not to.

    5. Proper spelling and grammar are necessary. Because you must be thirteen to sign up for this site, we can assume that you have had enough schooling to understand spelling, grammar, and punctuation. If you have something preventing you from writing well, such as dyslexia or ESL, please at least try your best ;)

    6. Posts must be at least 3 sentences per character. One-liners will NOT be tolerated, as they can be considered rude to your RP partner.

    7. Advertising on this thread is not permitted. If you want to advertise your new RPG or website, please send me a comment to inform me, and I will post about it on the thread. Posting links to your dragon eggs is fine.

    8. A human and a dragon that are Bonded are considered one character. An unbonded human and/or dragon are considered two different characters. If they Bond, they become one character.

    9. You can begin with two characters. After two weeks of RPG (or if your characters Bond), you can create another character. For every week of RPG after that, you can create another new character, to a limit of ten characters.

    10. A fun way to RP with friends is to Bond your humans and dragons together. Bond your human to your friend's dragon, or have your friend post their new character at the same time you post yours, as a Bonded character. They will still count as one character for each of you if this is the case.

    11. If you have taken the time to read these rules over thoroughly like I asked you to, you must incorporate the words "turtle" and "bubble" into a very creative sentence. Instead of saying "yes" when you agree to abide by the rules, post this sentence.

    12. Children born in-game are considered characters like any other, so you can only have children if you have character spaces open. If you do have children in-game, you must post a character registration form for them like any other character. For their "bio", type "Born in-game" and nothing else.

    13. Dragons lay eggs. Dragons are reptiles. In The Realm, only female dragons can lay eggs - and they don't need a male to help them.

    14. Pregnancies in-game last a week and a half. This means both live births by your human characters and egg hatching from your dragons. That means it takes a week and a half for your egg to hatch.

    15. When you join this RPG, you must send me a friend request.

    16. New characters joining the RPG shouldn't ask for a summary of what has happened in the RPG. You learn as your character learns, it's quite simple.

    17. Two weeks in real life is equal to one year in the RPG.

More rules are certain to come as they are needed.

    1. The Region of Tralla. This large island is very tropical and lovely. The edges are lined with soft, sandy beaches with palm trees swaying in the gentle breeze. In the middle is a thick jungle filled with a variety of different types of animals. On the western coast of the island, there are a number of little huts and cabins for vacationers to stay in. In the middle of the island, there is a massive underground cave filled with abandoned dragons' eggs.

    2. The Region of Rochenne. It's a medium-sized island that is very rocky and hot. It was made by volcanoes and fire dragons, and there isn't much there - except for, well, fire dragons.

    3. The Region of Ginikay. Ginikay is a serious of islands, most interconnected by underground tunnels. They are very rich in precious stones and metals, and many miners come to work here. There are small mining towns spread out all through the various tiny islands.

    4. The Region of Sertan, also known as the Twin Islands. These islands are very similar to Tralla - warm, tropical, beachy and with thick jungles. There are some small settlements in both islands - and while both islands are constantly at war with one another, they also share many morals and values, so it is unknown why they bicker like they do.

    5. The Region of Calcia. This region consists of both an island and a portion of the mainland. On the island of Calcia, one will find the Academy of Dragon Warriors and the vast Academy training grounds. On the mainland part of Calcia, the Capital City of the Realm is located. It is large and bustling, and consists of dragon hatcheries, the Court of the Realm, and other various governmental facilities.

    6. The Region of Varafen. The edges of this region rise from the waters, rocky and threatening - and at the top, smooth out into rolling hills and lush meadows filled with flowers and green grass. Unicorns are very common in this region, though they refuse to leave Varafen. There are many little villages set up, and the people living in Varafen know not to lay a hand on the unicorns. Sadly, unicorns often fall victim to hungry dragons.

    7. The Region of Starson. This region is thickly forested, and most of the trees in these forests are...dead... the soil lacks nutrients and is coarse and rough, and very few people live here - those who do choose to live here are regarded with high suspicion.

    8. The Region of Pikala. This region is made up mostly of small dragon communities, living quietly away from humans. Most of them wish not to Bond with any humans, as they enjoy their solitude, by can often be swayed if they meet the human they are destined to Bond with.

    9. The Region of Agluyamay. This region of The Realm is thickly forested, but the forests are lush and green. All varieties of other plants grow between the trees, too, from flowers to wild berries. It is known that a tribe of wild elves live in the forests of Agluyamay, and most choose to give these elves their solitude. There are a few other settlements, both human and dragon.

    10. The Region of Maylagu. This used to be a part of Agluyamay, hence the similarities in their naming, but Maylagu is a mess. This is the result of an ancient war fought between humankind and dragonkind, before Bonds were discovered. The lush forests of Maylagu were destroyed by the fires and fighting, and the blood that seeped into the ground. They never grew back, leaving a painful memory behind of peaceless times past.

    11. The Region of Sellsan. From the forests of Agluyamay as the trees fade, mountains rise from the ground. The mountains in Sellsan, unlike their Fortsan counterparts, are grassy and rocky, but with no snow. Many little towns are settled within these mountains.

    12. The Region of Fortsan. Connected to Sellsan, but colder, the mountains of Fortsan are peaked and covered with fluffy white snow. It snows often, usually causing various blizzards and avalanches. It is very dangerous, though many dragon colonies live inside the mountains.

    13. The Region of Natritia. This region is very flat, with few hills or forests. Many people choose to set up small farms here, to raise livestock and to grow fruits and vegetables. Most of the food eaten in the entire Realm comes from Natritia.

    14. The Region/Isles of Topha. These isles are mostly made up of dragon families - while most choose to live their lives alone and in solitude, dragons that find mates and raise children choose to live in Topha, as it is family-friendly. Many humans work on Topha, helping the dragons by providing them with food and medical assistance.

Dragons are pretty cool. My boyfriend likes dragons so much he has a tattoo of one on his leg. It's red and blue and in the shape of a treble clef. But that's not important right now. There are a number of types of dragons - a type for each element, and then there are the Spirit dragons...

    Air
Air dragons come in various shades of light blue, white, grey, and silver. They control anything from light breezes to telekinesis, from strong, thunderous winds to intense tornadoes. Their loyalties tend to be very loose and breezy, and they have difficulty settling down. The only thing that really makes Air dragons settle down is the Bond. Their Bond rings typically come in sapphire, aquamarine/turquoise, opal, diamond, and pearl.

    Earth
Earth dragons come in any shades from green to brown. Some are flowery, which is..weird. They are very strong and very loyal, but typically prefer to be solitary dragons. They can be very stubborn, and the control everything from nature to stone. Their Bond rings are typically emerald, peridot, or some strange brown stone that scientists can't identify.

    Water
Water dragons come in hues ranging from green to blue, and anything in between. They can all breathe underwater, some with the ability to hold their breath for a long time and others through gills. Many are amphibious, with webbed feet or tails designed for swimming, and they typically enjoy eating fish. Their Bond rings come in sapphires, aquamarines/turquoises, diamonds, opals, and even some peridots and emeralds. Pearls are another common Bond ring.

    Fire
Fire dragons are much different in colour from the other dragons, ranging from yellow and orange to red and, sometimes, black or grey. They are the only kind of dragon that actually breathes fire, despite the stereotypes. They are very social and outgoing, but also very short-tempered. Their Bond rings can be rubies, garnets, citrine, fire opal, diamond, quartz, onyx, or moonstone.

    Light
Light dragons are rumoured to come from the sun itself, and they can be any shades of gold, yellow, or white. Their scales are typically shimmering and shiny, and they are translucent. They are good dragons and will always do what is right. Their Bond rings are typically citrine, opal, or diamond.

    Dark
Dark dragons, despite the stereotypes, aren't always evil. They typically come in black, but can be any dark colour, from deep violet to blood scarlet. They tend to keep to themselves, and they are typically very smart. They are loyal only to whoever they are Bonded to. Their Bond rings come in onyx, black diamond, and any dark coloured stones that match the dragon's colouring.

    Spirit
Spirit dragons are very rare. They come in any colour imaginable. Spirit is a very vast term used to define any dragon that controls something other than one of the six natural elements. Throughout history, only twelve spirit dragons have been recorded: Two poison dragons, three ice dragons, one lemonade dragon, three love dragons, two pain dragons, and one lemonade dragon. Their Bond rings are usually fancier and more ornate than those of regular dragons, and come in whatever gem matches the dragon's colouring.

The Dragon Warriors are, essentially, the police force and military of the Realm. You must be a trained Dragon Warrior to be a part of the government of the Realm.

Dragon Warriors train at the Dragon Warrior Academy on the Island of Calcia. The entire island is the Academy - the various school buildings are in the middle, the dormitories are on the north end of the island, and the vast training grounds (after all, dragons are big!) take up the rest of the island.

When a pair of Bonded human and dragon graduate from the Academy, after taking their five-year training, the human counterpart is given a tattoo on the inside of their wrist. The tattoo is very small, no larger than a dime, and looks like this:

    vilha.jpg

The Dragon Warriors are expected to patrol their Region (assigned by the Government, A.K.A myself) and help with any and all problems that arise. Every once in a while, to keep things fresh, the Government reassigns the Dragon Warriors their regions.

Some Dragon Warriors choose instead to join the Government. The Government has a Dragon council and a Human council, and every member of these two councils is Bonded to a member from the other council. That way, they understand that all things done in the Realm must be done for the good of both dragonkind and humankind.

More information will come on the Dragon Warriors as it is needed.

Would you like to join as a member of the Realm? That's excellent!
As stated before, you can be any of the following characters:

    A Dragon Warrior/Dragon Warrior in Training/Bonded Human&Dragon
    - Your human equals half a character
    - Your dragon equals half a character
    - If your friend controls one of the Bonded and you control the other, each is equal to one character

    Unbonded Human/Dragon
    - Each character is equal to one character if they aren't Bonded.

Please note that if you choose not to include any pictures, your physical description (in words) must include at least SEVEN sentences. I promise, it's SO much easier to do pictures. SO much easier.

There is a different form for each type of character...

Dragon Warrior - You can begin RP-ing once the Government (myself) has given you your assigned Region.

    Dragon Warrior

    Human's Name:
    Julia Walker

    Dragon's Name:
    Ratiri

    Human's Age:
    23

    Dragon's Age:
    27

    Human's Gender:
    Female

    Dragon's Gender:
    Male

    Dragon's Element:
    Water

    Human's Appearance:
Long, curly black hair that's typically messy, and she keeps it in pigtails. Pale white skin, big blue eyes, full lips, and thick eyelashes. Slender figure, typically wears black and blue. Appears cutesy and cheerful.

    Dragon's Appearance:
Dark teal in colour. He's a large dragon, with glowing red eyes. He has large claws and his ears are webbed. His wings, too, are webbed. He has four legs and a long tail similar to that of a mermaid.

    Human's Personality:
Julia is very cynical and sarcastic. She's very tough and likes challenging anyone and everyone. She likes to be in charge and in command, and she never goes down without a fight. The only person she listens to is Ratiri. Well, and the government...

    Dragon's Personality:
Ratiri never has much to say. He tends to let Julia be in control, since he knows that's what she likes. He does whatever she asks of him without argument, but if she's coming to a hasty decision that he knows will have negative results, he tries to talk her out of it.

    Brief Bio:
Julia has always been tough and rough. She is part elf, as her father was one of the Elves of Agluyamay. She has never met her father, she was instead raised by her mother in a small village in Varafen. She met Ratiri while she was sitting in the meadow and watching the unicorns, and Ratiri came by hungry for a meal. Julia was quite impressed at seeing such a unique dragon, one with fins and whatnot, so she went over to meet the dragon. They became close, and hung out often. Finally, after about a year of being friends, Ratiri gave her his Bond ring.
Right away, Julia decided that she wanted to become a Dragon Warrior with Ratiri. She was seventeen at the time, and rushed to Calcia to become a Dragon Warrior. Ratiri wasn't all that thrilled by the idea in the beginning, but during their training at the Academy, he found he enjoyed it more than he had thought. Julia and Ratiri now alternate between patrolling Varafen and Agluyamay.

    Julia

I sat on top of Ratiri's head, my hand gently petting his moist scales. He was perched on one of the rocky cliffs of Varafen, gazing out at the ocean. His flippered tail flicked behind us, and I smiled to myself.
