I love this idea, I think this will be my next legacy. I'm going to incorporate the Jewelry Crafting Station in lieu of the DNA Profiler generation. Thanks for the idea :)

I sort of made up my own challenge. For lack of a more intriguing name I call it "Artist Challenge" and it's based on a ten generation legacy with the trait "Artist"

Cheats allowed. Families only have one child and no matter what gender that one child is the heir. Each heir require the Artist trait.

    1. Street Credible (complete the Street Credible Lifetime Wish and max art skill and just try to make some money)
    2. Swimming in Cash (complete this lifetime wish and rise to the top of the Art Dealer career Acquisition branch)
    3. Fashion Phenomenon
    4. Home Design Hot Shot
    5. Renaissance Sim (Art, and two of any of these: Street Art, Photography, Scultping)
    6. Illustrious Author
    7. Dynamic DNA Profiler
    8. Master of the Arts
    9. Descendant of DaVinci
    10. Living in the Lap of Luxury (complete this lifetime wish and reach the top of the Art Dealer career Apprasier branch)

Sims can move out and use age freeze potions etc...

i created the frozen challange. if you know a movie named frozen you know what i am talking about.Anyway here are the rules first you create the king and queen alone build a castle for them or find a castle or mansion.after creating have the queen get pregnant with Elsa then pretend that the queen got sick then have her get pregnant with Anna and right after she gives birth to Anna kill the queen but keep the king alive when Elsa is a teen kill the king and you need to play this with testingcheatsenabled on but lock all the doors of the castle keep Anna bored. On Cornation day unlock everything in the castle then create Hans-1 family Kristoff and Sphen another family sphen could be a horse you cant make raindeers in the sims 3 then have Elsa throw a house party then after the party if you have seasons turn all the seasons off keep winter on and turn off all the weather off keep snow on then build Elsa`s ice castle and move her in there. Then have Anna go to her improve their relationship then ask her to move in if she says yes you are done with the challange if she says no add her to the active family she is moved in turn all the season and weather back on then finish the challange.

I have a new challenge. its 20 gen challenge (may want to have/install generations) Have a legacy of generations of kids and stuff. If you want you can try the challenge with pets too, if you like. just have the first gen (make or find a guy or girl to start, this is only for first gen) then make them bf or gf get married have kids let the kids have sleep overs fun times and go to school let them get older wait till the parents die of old age and if you had more them one kid, pick one and let them keep on the legacy and kick/move the other kids out. You have to use mother lode. Rules: Build a big nice house, a very big one (your gen/legacy wont move out, exept the kids you move out to start the next gen) get a big lot to, so you can build the big house. After building the house you can get your sims to get jobs or just use mother lode for money either way. You can't start new legacy/gen until both parents die of old age. You must spend time with kids and play with them and take them places. (like a normal family XD) I hope this is fun for you, it was so fun for me to do! 8)

This is a challenge I am creating using most of the challenges I found on the sims 3 website. If you don't want to include a certain challenge, you can take it out. You can alos stop at any point, but what makes the challenge fun is completing it, although it may take a while. Comment and tell me your experiences if you decide to try it.

.for each generation, you must make the first letter of their names in alphabetical order. You can stop at 3, but if you to go through entire alphabet, go right ahead. If you do decide to stop at 3 generations, you must have a least 4 kids each. Also, for the first 5 generations, you can base their personalilities and life styles on their eye color, as follows.

    Gen 1: brown eyes
    Nuetral
Traits; Neat, Bookworm, Couch Potato, Friendly, Genius
They see life as...well...life. Nothing special.
Can meet spouse anywhere. No more than 3 kids.
Need to master the Journalism career and master the angler skill
Both the heir and their spouse must complete their lifetime wants and reach the top of their chosen career paths

    Gen 2: Hazel eyes
They like things a little spiced up. Their parents were so boring and they had nothing fun in life.
Traits; Adventerous, Ambitious, Daredevil, Dramatic, Rebelliuos
They must meet their spouse while sneaking out as a teenager.
Heir must have 2 kids or more.
Need to master Music career. Need to master 3 or more skills.
This generation is not allowed to hire any form of hired help. This means no nannies, no maids...not even the police or fire department. (First generation not included. Once 2nd generation becomes young adult and has first kids does this rule apply.)

    Gen 3. Grey eyes
They are complete genius and hate their parents reckless attitudes. All they want to do is learn.
Traits; Bookworm, Computer Whiz, Genius, No sense of humor, Proper
This sim must meet their spouse in school.
Needs to get on the honor roll.
Must always be at the library or home. Nowhere else.
For this challenge the family needs to add value to their house by decorating, landscaping and ultimately doing the place up. The value of the property needs to reach §75,000.

    Gen 4. Green eyes
They love the enviorment and learned a lot from their parents endless text books.
Traits; Vegetarian, Neat, Loves the Outdoors, Green thumb, Angler
    Needs to plant a garden.
Must master gardening skill and fishing skill.
    Must meet spouse at park
This challenge requires the heir to be female. She must not marry nor have a partner move in with her.

    Gen 5.Blue eyes
They find way too much beauty in themselves.
Traits; Commitment issues, Diva, Flirty, Evil, Snob
Must have 5 different kids with 5 different people
Must have 2 enemies and 2 "beautiful" best friends
The household funds need to reach a minimum of §150,000
(You can either end challenge here or continue on to finish epic challenge. If you decide to continue, this generation needs to have two ugly daughters. Earlier kids must be already moved out.)

    Generation 6. Cinderella
(Must be adopted by generation 5)
A beautiful girl moves into a terrible house hold with an evil parent and two disgusting stepsisters.
    • Must have “Neat” trait
    • Must make all of the beds in the morning and cook all of the meals
    • Move out of the house once you find your “Prince Charming”
    • Get married and have kids

    Generation 7. Mulan

Your family always expected great things from you but you found yourself having other interests.

    • Must reach the top of that career choice
    • Become enemies with your parents but befriend them by the end of the generation
    • Marry, have kids

    Generation 8. Toy story

No one believed that your toy was real. So how were you going to prove to them that you were in love?
    • Heir/heiress must have Imaginary Friend doll
    • Turn the doll into an IF
    • Turn the IF into a human
    • Marry this human and have children

Generation 9. The fox and the hound

    • Your family doesn’t approve—have a private wedding
    • Sneak out to meet your love
o Don’t get caught by the police one time
o Get caught and brought back home by the police one time

    • Must have the “good” trait
    • Have ONLY 7 friends
    • Experience your untimely death at the hands of someone who hates you
    • Have your “prince charming” raise you from the dead
    • Have children—this HAS to come after you are raised from the dead

    • Fall in love while in ghost form
    • Must be transformed to be human again
    • Get married have children

    Generation 12. Alladin

    • You CANNOT have any friends at school—or you can be homeschooled
    • You aren’t allowed to leave the house, unless it is for school
    • Frequently sneak out after dark—don’t get caught
o Meet your future lover on one of your rebellious sneak outs
    • Have parents arrange your marriage to a stranger

o Lover MUST be in the criminal career
    • Get married to lover, have children

    • Be super popular
    • Make one enemy
    • Have heir/heiress from Gen. 12 die
    • Leave everything behind and live humbly away from your riches
    • Move back into your original house
    • Get married have kids

    Generation 14. Nightmare Before Christmas:
There is always the criminal. Your grandfather/mother was a criminal, so how bad can you be, right? Pretty bad.
    • Join criminal career
-Reach the top of the criminal career
-Fall in love ONLY ONCE you reach the top of the career
-Quit your job--love has changed you!
    -Get married, have kids

Generation 15. Beauty and the beast

Despite your mother’s, or father’s, crazy ways, you were more of the quiet type. You longed for the romance of your ancestors—the type that only seemed to belong in books.
    • Must have “Bookworm” trait
    • Mother or Father goes to jail
o For storytellers: this is where the heir/ess would meet “the beast”. Creative control takes over from here!
    • Heir/ess gets kidnapped and brought to live in a creepy old mansion
    • Heir/ess falls in love with the “beast”—an ugly sim
    • Get married have children

Generation 16. "My parents grew up in a small town. I always wanted more with my life."
    -Traits: Artistic, Virtuoso, Ambitious

    -Traits: Schmoozer, Ambitious
-LTW: Leader of the Free World

(After Generation 24, pretend that the family loses everything. Spend all of their money then make them move out. You need to for Generation 25 to work. When the new heir becomes young adult, do this and make their parents die. Move out all siblings)

    Generation 25.
Think of this heir as Godfather (or the female equivalent of). They must build this family from nothing, so of course your heir will keep everyone close.
    -6 kids
-Heir must befriend all children by teenage years and retain friendships until death
-Whoever the next heir plans to marry must befriend the old heir

    Generation 26.
This generation will be summed up in one word: "frugal." These children should grow up thinking that they are very poor when, in fact, our heir just likes to scrimp as much as humanly possible. Reuse everything you can from the previous generation- you're going to need it.
-Spend no money except to pay bills and restock the fridge
-You are only allowed 6 birthday cakes the entire generation so plan accordingly
-If you spend any money, you must sell something you already own
-You may not alter any of the outfits until your kids become a young adults, these clothes were on sale so it's what you get! (However if a sibling is getting married they may "buy" new formal outfits for siblings to wear once to the wedding)

    Generation 27.
his heir firmly believes in the furthering of education. Any children must be well educated, no if's, and's, or but's. Failure is NOT an option.
-Heir must reach level 5 (Resident) in the medical career
    -Max out logic skill
-Build a library or library area for your legacy house (must have more than one bookcase)
-All children must get on the honor roll

    Generatiob 28.
One word will describe this heir: vivacious! Your sim will have a healthy lust for life.
-Meet at least 50 people outside of family and work
-Heir must get to level 2 in at least 5 different career tracks
-Reach at least level 3 in all skills
-Have a brief undiscovered affair as an elder

    Generation 29.
Being of sound body is the goal in this family. (A sound mind is optional)
-Must add a gym or gym area to your legacy house (must have at least 2 pieces of equip.)
-Martial Arts Master (If you have World Adventures)
    -Or become a superstar athlete

    Generation 30.
This generation's heir will be in the military track and plans on running things in a tight and orderly manner. However, one child will defy the house parameters and shake things up a little. It's up to your heir to maintain order.
-Heir should be in the military career track
-One child must have the "Evil" and "Hot-Headed" and "Mean" traits
-This child must become enemies with whichever parent is the heir
-This demon child does not have to become the next heir

    Generation 31.
"Take what you can, give nothing back." This time around the family is taking everything they can get. You work outside of the law, hopefully quite comfortably. Morals are flexible- live it up!
-Current heir must have the kleptomaniac trait
-The heir must steal their spouse or partner from another sim
-Heir must become a master thief

    Generation 32.
Growing up in a household where everything is stolen makes you want to earn an honest living. Enter the business career and encourage your family to work hard as well.
-This heir must become a power broker
-The spouse or partner of the heir must reach level 7 of their own career
-All kids must have jobs the moment they are able

    Generation 33.
This heir grew up in a very white collar household. It's time to break free of the mundane! Your heir will have to make a living off of their music.
-The heir may never get a job and must instead live off the guitar (Or other instrument if you have Late Night)
-You must meet your spouse or partner through playing music in a public place
-Spouse or partner must have the artistic or virtuoso trait, so they'll fit in
-At least one child's name must be related to music (or all if you're into it)

    Generation 34,
Your heir is a hopeless romantic. They are really looking for "the one," their "other half." Despite heartbreak, this heir must not give up. Help them to find their soulmate for the perfect "happily ever after."
-Have at least 3 serious relationships
    -Have at least one divorce
-And, of course, get married twice

This last Generation is only if you have into the future

    Generation 25.
You go into the future and see everything that will become of your family. Try to make friends with your descendors and see how the choices you made affected your later generations lives. (Best if go in during elderlyhood.)

This thread is not being updated since June 2012 and I'm not sure if the host is still playing at all...

I therefore opened a new thread with all challenges and roleplays, which is being updated at least once a week:

TS3 NEW Challenge & Role Play List

I also added a small description to each challenge to make it easier to everyone to understand what's about.

    Colorful lifestyles!
Hi guys, so I had this idea. For each generation there is a color and personality.

new challange. alt to the asylum challenge. near same rules. must be familier.
must have 8 sims all random. u cannot manipulate execpt what is required.
u may not use money cheat. u must move into a house already in the town of your choosing. u cannot make a house to move into. has to be game created. you may furnish with what u have left.
    no restriction on items.
i play with all of the supernatural but if u dont have it ok. but if u do u must.
challenge ends when all orgional sims die. u may marry and have children. they do not count but u cannot move. nor can u add additions to the house. the one u move into stays as is. so what u like without adding room.
those are the rules. there very simple but it will make an interesting game. :D
