@BlackSand :lol: And leave her children fatherless? :p
It's pretty obvious why she filed for divorce, her husband cheated, blatantly. And on top of that, she's got the man's own sister in her ear, with whom she's BFFs.

    @venusdemilosims ... Yeah, you don't need our services :D
Suitcase kids, high priced therapy bills for everyone and bail money set aside for the kids when they rebel.
That sounds like a much more reasonable proposition from your point of view.

Our way might be drastic ... But once the grieving process is over ... Everyone left can just spend the inheritance money.

@BlackSand And considering Sebastian is a superstar actor (Level 10 in the actor career) and famous in his own right... there's the embarrassment and scandal that's been brought down on what's left of his reputation.
Looked at from the wife's perspective, if she was evil, she might be thinking, he might be worth more to her as a ghost than as a full Sim. But she isn't, and to prove that she isn't... she wouldn't have made the pains she did to get along with his daughter from a previous relationship. She really did everything in her power to make this work, everything. And the daughter wasn't to blame either... it was HIM. All him.

@KevinL5275 I've actually finished! :D But as usual I keep the chapter for a couple of days, rereading, adding and rewriting... Sometimes it's frustrating to be a perfectionist. Lol! :s But it'll be up before next weekend! If you want to, I'll tag you? :)

Found some more pix over the weekend... things are so crazy in real life that I've barely had time to do any playing. So much going on... hard to keep up.

    Anyhoo... here are the pix.

    GYGPDnu.jpg

Savannah with baby Sierra. Who knew what that little burrito would turn into?

    84E8mNA.jpg

If the girl she had to take to freshman orientation at university was any indication...

    Y8Uq8ET.jpg

Savannah expresses indignation at paparazzo taking pix of her kids after an event.

    5gqcv7a.jpg

Little Sage pretending to be a princess... (not knowing her brother would marry one in real life)

    ZLgNHpe.jpg

...and AJ as a boy scout

    bSMgisc.jpg

Kaydence isn't the only thumb s.ucker in the family. Skylar did it, as a toddler, although she wouldn't admit it now. She actually stopped soon after this photo was taken.

    edVKTC0.jpg

And this is Sage in college, giving an impassioned speech to a group of environmentalists at a protest rally.

3rd Zolnikov Christmas Special Part Six:

    2vdi1ar.jpg

Tristan: "You're Bailey's Russian friend, right? In your Dragon breeder clothes or something? You brought Bailey's dad...oh, she is going to be so mad. She didn't tell you she didn't want to see him? Please tell me you didn't talk to my dad?"

Rafael: He smiled darkly. Nothing lasted forever, some day they would find a newspaper article or catch a segment on the news or read an internet article and realize that he wasn't just an antisocial hermit who was obsessed with dragons...but that he was an international criminal mastermind who had even tried to steal nuclear weapons...the articles usually assumed he would blow up the world. Hopefully, the news articles painting him as the vilest of villains would cause them to compare their experience with him to the news articles, and assume the news articles were totally, completely in error and just straight dismiss them...without looking up any of their sited sources and finding out that yes, he was definitely a villain, maybe not the vilest of villains, but undeniably a bad guy. But... this plate would not spin forever. He could end it now, but he really didn't want to. It would fall...it's fall was inevitable...but he didn't have to drop it yet. "I came strraight frrom vorrk, so yes, Mistyerr Van Gould, I'm drressed forr vorrk. Both of yourr fathyerrs syeem to haf decidyed that I am theirr perrsonyal assistyant, to gif them vhatevyerr informyation that they vant. I am not. Vell, I dyid spyeak vith yourr fathyerr, but I didyent tyell him vherre to fyind you, and he's perrhaps a littyel cross vith me... so I vill deal vith that lattyerr. I brrought Bailey's fathyerr herre by black drragon, so therre is zerro perrcent chance that ve verre followed. I am pleased to see that it vas you ansverink the doorr. You arre protectink yourr vife, that is vise, but I am only herre to spyeak vith Bailey, and as you said, ve arre frriends... so vill you let us in?"

    n4b6kg.jpg

Tristan: He settled on the bed and looked them over, looking like a pleased cat... then suddenly looked apologetic while looking at Chester's scowl, as the context of him being on the bed in front of Bailey's father perhaps crossed his mind, causing him to make excuses in a way that he wouldn't if he were actually rubbing it in Mr. Swain's face. "Oh, sorry...I usually find if I don't want to be surrounded by panicked people all the time, I need to get lower than humans and look relaxed, so they calm down and stop thinking...even subconsciously that I'm going to eat them. See how harmless I look? Totally not doing anything scary. Also this leaves the couch if you want to sit down."

Bailey: "Rafael! Oh...you brought.. my dad...? Where did his mustache go? Was it fake? Now he's got a beard? Oh, this spy stuff is messed up! Did he tell you he was someone else?"

    v8lg0p.jpg

Rafael: This likely seemed like an aside to stall from delving into this mess, but he really wanted her to realize that her name changing didn't change who she was. "Bailey... it's Bailey Van Gould now that your ved to Mr. Van Gould? Or is it Svain Van Gould or Van Gould Svain?"

Bailey: "It's Van Gould now, a real name, held by real people for centuries."

Chester: He seemed defeated and exhausted, but still unable to stop from at least muttering something when his daughter was definitely talking at him but not to him. "Don't you mean real vampires?"

    Bailey: "Vampires are real people."

Rafael: Mr. Swain likely didn't know what Rafael was doing, but his defeated demeanor worked perfectly for what Rafael had in mind. Rafael held his breath for a moment... He really didn't want to do this...he needed to do this gently, very delicately. He had considered just getting the plate crashing to the floor over with by threatening Bailey's father himself...transferring her betrayal towards him, and fitting into the villainous persona... breaking ties with her would be prudent...it might even seem to Agent Swain to be part of the favor he was doing him... but he just couldn't do it. He knew exactly how it felt to have his father betray him, and to suddenly be uncertain how fully that betrayal really reached, to go back and question every memory of his father, looking for clues that he was really this monster the whole time. He knew exactly what that felt like but he could never tell her. This...what he was going to do was hard enough...it would work...but it was still going to upset her... This was for her own good...things would be much better for her afterwards. Medicine didn't taste good, and people often hated swallowing pills...but they did it because there was a worse ailment that needed addressing, after all. "Bailey, you know, I'm vearrink fake bearrd too, it's just vorrk uniforrm. So he drressed a cerrtain vay, it vasn't rreally to fyool me, no morre than you put on make up to fyool anyvone into thinkink you haf unnyaturrally rred lips. It's not to fyool. It's morre... makink an efforrt."

Bailey: "He's tricked you into helping him!"

Rafael: This knee jerk accusation irritated him, but he only sighed and kept his voice grim enough to convey a death in the family to the bereaved family members. "No, I'm helpink you. I just brrought him by so you could say goodbye. It vould be a shame if these verre the last thinks you said to your fathyerr. So, say goodbye prropyerrly now, Bailey. You'll regrret it if you don't."

Bailey: This only made her more angry. "So just like that, he's just off to some other country to be someone else for a few decades?"

Rafeal: "No, Bailey...are you not avarre that the penyalty forr espionache is dyeath? He should haf fled the momyent his covyerr vas blown, but he didyent, he stayed to trry to talk, so, now, it's too late to yescape, he's goink to die. A single mistyake is fatyal forr special agyents. That's just the rrisk of the job, like firre fightyerrs can be burrned in collapsink buildinks... he knew that vhen he signed up, you know, tventy fife yearrs ago. But I don't vant you to trry to go to vhatevyerr prrison to trry to see him beforre he is executyed...you don't haf the trrainink yourr fathyerr has in resistink torrturre...but evyen vith his trrainink, givyen his recent mistyakes, I vould bet they vould trry to brreak him by torrturrink you, vhethyerr they knew you verre innocent or not, they arre fasccists, its vhat they do...so, please undyerrstyand, evyen though you arre angrry, you need to say goodbye now. You can't vait untyil you arre in bettyerr mood."

    jgiq29.jpg

Bailey: Her anger dissolved into dawning horror and her voice took on a more desperate pleading tone the further it went on. "Wait, what? Torture? Death? No...no...no they can't... B-but...he didn't really do anything...I mean, really...no one got hurt, right? And...and...he didn't get caught! No one told, right? He's not in handcuffs, he's not being escorted around by federal agents, he can still get away?!"

    ezr5ty.jpg

Rafael: He sighed...He waited a few moments to convey frustrated powerlessness. He thought of how Konstantin Petrovich had escaped him yet again, the man had escaped a global criminal network, ambushes and traps in nuclear facilities where Rafael's people were 'stealing' nuclear weapons...had escaped a vampire during the night time in almost perfect darkness...Rafael thought of these things to be properly frustrated...so the vampire would believe he was frustrated about the subject at hand. In truth, Rafael could crush Mr. Van Gould if he decided to, and Chester Swain knew it. Even Mr. Van Gould knew it, which was why the vampire was being sneaky, or doing what would be sneaky if Rafael didn't know as much as he did about what was going on. "If I take yourr fathyerr back to yourr hyouse, it vill take yourr fathyerr in law...abyout thirrty seconds to gyet yourr fathyerr caught by the rright people...if I drop him off on any strreet in Moonlyight Falls, it vill prrobably take abyout three minutes. Mistyerr Van Gould is verry vell connectyed, and verry crross abyout this arrrangement... I am surrprrised he gave yourr fathyerr time to come bothyerr me but perrhaps he thought I vould tyell yourr fathyerr vhat I vouldyent tyell him or that vone of my frriends might harrm him... and upsyet you vith me because you myight hold me responsyible...and that vould drraw you out to a plyace vherre he could fyind you... vonce he fyinds out he can't use yourr fathyerr that vay, I yexpect the nyext move is to rreporrt yourr fathyerr to the authoryities...to drraw you out...don't gyet me wrronk, I also haf connyections...but it's much easierr to myake a phone call to gyet somevone arrestyed than it is to stop somevone frrom beink takyen in...especially forr this crrime... givyen time... I could clearr this up...vith a bit of vorrk- but vhy should I evyen bothyerr? It vould take too lonk, yourr fathyerr vould be torrturred forr days and dyead beforre I could gyet it done...I haf novherre to hyide him that Mistyerr Van Gould can't rreach. He evyen has connyections in the deadlands... So, if you don't vant your fathyerr herre, in the middle of your honeymoonink, in this verry small cottyage, vitch I'm surre you don't, and he'd prrobably prreferr to be torrturred...then...just say goodbye."

    qog5xi.jpg

Bailey: "Dad, don't go! I don't want you to die. Please, I'm still trying to figure out who you really are...but you're still my dad- you still taught me to read and throw a ball, and fish and cook! And how are we going to have a Family Christmas Fish Dish with just one person who eats solid food? Clearly, there has to be at least two! And it'll be much better if you do the fishing, this place is warded all the way up to the ruins and there is a close by pond but it's frozen over and you know how bad I am about ice fishing...but I'll cook! ...And hey, you don't even have to pretend to be juiced, so you can be more yourself...however that is...though I hope it still involves hanging out in flannel pajamas and gifts with cartoon wrapping paper and the fun stuff...I told Tristan that Christmas was about more than just wearing the right clothes and making sure all the wall hangings are hanging perfectly...and he'd like to believe me, I'm sure...but I think he needs to have a real one before it's out of the 'sounds too good to be true' category."

    8vyjoi.jpg

Tristan: "I'll believe it when I see it. Until then, the Christmas of the Three Wise Minnows is obviously some sort of legend Bailey read about...I mean, cutting a lemon into the shape of a star and dressing pan fried minnows in little herbal robes sounds impossible. No one could really do that."

    2uojrro.jpg

Chester: "Ah, well, let's hope we don't have to host the three wise Minnows again. Once was enough. Those were supposed to be bait. I had such a bad fishing day that day I could barely catch back the bait."

On top of everything else that's going on, with my external hard drive with my entire digital life on it needing about $900 of work done on it that I can't afford, and I'm currently out of work and have been for two months, today I'm having four teeth plus my wisdoms removed on my left side. That should be fun... not. Not to mention, most of my dental work happens to 'not' be covered by my dental insurance  Hope to respond to your wonderful stuffeths later, when I'm not buried under with pain.

    Anyhoo...

Been playing around with the Sims 4 Parenthood game pack, which was gifted to meee... but more importantly, with conversions of some of the stuffeths for our beloved Sims 3 (yay!!!) so without further ado...

    1yyQ4JR.jpg

It was science fair time. Kaydence had been an eight-year-old third grader at the Gooder Public School back in Starlight Shores. The Gooder School was named for one of the town's prominent families, which had, incidentally, been one of the primary donors.

    raH9YLu.jpg

Kaydence patiently waited her turn for the judge to ask her questions about her project, a diorama of the solar system. The boy next to her had done a replica of one of Sunlit Tides' volcanoes. She had painstakingly worked on the solar system practically alone, with little guidance from her father, who was spending fourteen-hour days working on a romantic comedy.

    czXnCjL.jpg

When the judge, Miss Holiday, arrived, Kaydence straightened and took a deep breath. Already her poise from being the daughter of an actor and a pop star was showing. "Hello, Kaydence Jolina-Plumb, is it?"
    Kaydence smiled.
"What an interesting project. Did you do that all on your own?"
The eight year old bristled. "Of course I did."

    HU4qf3Y.jpg

"And you didn't have any help from your mom and dad?"
"Nope." She didn't want to tell Miss Holiday the whole story, that she would lock herself in her room while her parents would throw parties.

    LZiIfKS.jpg

Miss Holiday could see that this was going nowhere. So she decided to ask young Kaydence about the project itself. "Well," Kaydence began, "it's a diorama of the solar system, with the known planets revolving around the sun."

    oPF8xfu.jpg

Kaydence also explained, in her eight-year-old voice, that the planets, including our own, revolve around the sun in the solar system because it's the biggest object in the system and contains most of the matter in it.
"Astronomers have learned a lot about our solar system, but there's still a lot more we haven't learned. Did you know that we're rotating around the sun all the time but we don't realize it?"
Miss Holiday managed a chuckle. "Thanks for that information, Kaydence, I'll write that down."

@KevinL5275 Just a chapter! I'm not ready to let go of her quite yet!

So here goes, (just posted on the "other" thread too):

The Grey Witches are back with a new update! As usual, the actual story is on my blog, just follow the link! :D

    Part II - Chapter 41:

Granny has left Old Oak Mansion in a hurry. Her granddaughter is in a coma, and getting weaker for each hour passing. If they are to be able to ever wake her up, they will need her father’s blood – fast. But Granny doesn’t know in what condition she will find Magnus Darkling. She has heard the rumors; the Council has finally got to him and she can only hope that he’s still alive.

@BlackSand That Margette Boristino might be just who the Grey's need to find a very important loophole in a contract written in blood... Lol! B) Even though I think Taïga's father might rather go for the "ecological" solution, being a man of action himself...

    @Silverofdreams30 I love Thornton! He's perfect - goodlooking and with character! <3

@venusdemilosims Love the picture of Sage giving a speach - made me think of the Vietnam protests in the early 70's! :)
Kaydence is so cute, I can't help but feeling sorry for her, working on her science project while her parents threw parties... :'(

    Well @jillbg ... Free consult ... Mangus doesn't need a lawyer, he needs a voodoo queen :D
Albeit ... I strongly doubt that he would get anywhere near a voodoo queen ... Since they prefer the dead to be more dead/less undead.

You cannot necessarily break a blood contract if it is bound with the "craft" ... But (there is always a 'but'), you can bind someone else to the consequences should the contract be broken.

Kind of like a "whipping boy" ... They suffer your consequences.

Your story is nice enough though and no lawyers needed ... A lawyer would just pollute the mess beyond repair :)

@Zabeth0 Finally they've arrived! I would have thought it a pleasant change for Raphael to be treated a s a "normal" person, but I can also see how being such a criminal mastermind, he'd also want to be recognized as such! But teens are teens, they don't care much about what adults do with their boring adult time... ;)

Yeah, rubbing it in, all right! :s It might not be the best of ideas to even have a bed in the same room you welcome your girlfriend's dad... :#

Oups! having a spy dad can be confusing! Lucky for her, she now has a "real" name! :p Poor Chester, when you know how important transmitting the family name is to some men...

I'm glad Bailey came to her senses about her dad, even though it took some rather drastic hints from Raphael to trigger it! :o So VanGould Senior knows, and Chester Swain knows, what Raphael can/could/will/would do... Geez. Raphael gets more and more viciously manipulative by the minute! But then again - you don't become head of a world wide crime organization by doing charity... B)

Bailey, are you serious about worrying about the Family Fish Dish? :s Gosh! I can hear her rambling nervously out of stress, trying to fill the silence saying what goes through her mind.

Lol at Tristan trying to imagine impossible culinary prowessess! Oh, my, you don't know what you're missing out on... :p

I'm rooting for Chester Swain! >:)

Hi there everybody!I had been sick on and off for a while and my internet kept cutting out or being very slow for a few monthes.I should try to get caught up here once I have a chance to manage it.I loved being in this thread and haven't been able to get in for a while with glitchy internet.

It occurs to Calvin, that now that he's immortal, he's going to outlive everyone he knows and loves. He still remembers Delsin's death, he remembers it quite vividly. It's been a year since then, and Alec is now a teenager. Calvin had asked for immortality, and now he regrets every minute of it. No one ever tells you that aspect of it. He decides to move to Forgotten Hollow, as everything in the old house reminds him that he's a widow.
Knowing this, he decides to spend the day with Alec for father's day. [Okay it was yesterday but still. I was celebrating it in real life with my dad.]

@cwaddell Andrea is absolutely smashing - you create such beatiful sims! :) You make me want to try out diving with your very nice screens from Suvadiva - all Nilxis' worlds are incredible! <3 I think 3 persons made me stay with TS3:
    - Twallan, the creator of Nraas and whose mods, IMHO, are absolutely necessary to get this game working smoothly
    - Nilxis, because of his amazing worlds
    - Sandy at ATS3 because she helps the authenticity of this game with her detailed and authentic CC

It's so great to make over your home, the planning part is absolutely fabulous (just like with a wedding! lol) but it's a pain to get it done... We've had workers here for about three weeks, renovating the stairs and succeeding in spraying a layer of dust absolutely everywhere! But the result was worth it. I was only worried about them breathing in the stuff all day long - as they refused to work wearing masks...

Thank you. I have currently abandoned my "family generating" game in Suvadiva Resort world. I entered a house building contest Koi's House and during the process realized I could no longer share any lots or sims, neither mine nor EA's. Since I had also been having glitches with my Suvadiva game I decided to start over with a new Sims 3 folder and have been in the process of reinstalling store content and CC, cutting down on some of it as I go along. I hope to bring that saved Suvadiva game into my new folder to continue.

Hope your renovations have been completed and everything is back to normal, only better. :)

Ditto on Sandy, she's also been converting TS4 stuff for use in TS3, she's been around for years too. Hers is among the few CC sites I trust.

Interesting updates. I like your turn of phrase.

I will have to check Sandy out. Here I'm intending to cut back on CC but I always get sucked into adding more.

    Congrats on your 8th birthday.

So, it's no surprise, then, that your wife files for divorce. The affair might have had something to do with it, no?

This picture really impressed me. How did you get that shot? Looks like real life with a paper your created using a picture from Sims 3. Looks fantastic.

Great looking house. Love the print on the swimsuit. I stole the idea for one of my sims.

Great update. Although I've never played a game with Thornton the pictures from your game make him seem very enticing. Great looking sims.

Hi there everybody!I had been sick on and off for a while and my internet kept cutting out or being very slow for a few monthes.I should try to get caught up here once I have a chance to manage it.I loved being in this thread and haven't been able to get in for a while with glitchy internet.
Here's an update below from a new clean Sims 3 folder I set up.
    Salisbury Beach In Testing.
I loaded a new game in Sunset Valley2 to test this world out.

Sorry to hear you were sick and of your internet problems. I'm going through the same process of starting with a clean Sims 3 folder although I've started to load it up quickly :) .

Are you creating Salisbury Beach in CAW by starting with Sunset Valley 2 or are using Sunset Valley 2 in game and building there?

The rural section of that map looks ideal for horses and/or a farm.

@cwaddell Thanks! I'm in the process of rewriting the earliest chapters, as they were basically just copies from the create a story on the old forum... I'm having fun writing though, and I'm always happy to get feedback! :)
I've struggles with my cc folders for a while now, merging most everything... It's hard to decide what to keep and what to get rid off... :s

Sorry guys, I'm still being slow... this is not even a complete comment...there will be more later... ;)

@Jillbg: Firstly, I apologize, I'm not very good in the building department, so I always feel like I'm really lame with the comments about it, but please understand that even if I'm kind of weak with expressing it, I am impressed! You probably wouldn't believe how badly I struggled to try to build a gas station (one, single building, -one-) in Sunlight Tides... so, even though my comments might seem a little weak here, please understand, I totally think you jazzed that place right up, with classrooms and public buildings and I really love how much you've added with toddlers and weddings in the doorways and manned newsstands, garden stores and grocery stores! The bakery fits rather nicely into the setting. :D I do feel really sorry for the lady raising twins by herself, but I'm glad she's doing it in a place that has things for them to do (besides throw tantrums in the grocery store!) ;) (and having toddlers in WA locations makes it feel so much more natural! Eventually, I'll probably add Traveler to my mods just for that lol) I think you did a great job of making the buildings feel more real with the added shelves! :D I think the church looks like it belongs there, and I have to wonder if Rowan's going to be talking to people there lol. :D Or hanging out by the gravestones... :D

I'll try to get back to the honeymoon soon, maybe just one more Xmas update so Rafael finally gets his Christmas fix. ;) Yeah, I'm usually really nice to him during the Xmas specials, things go so well for him (relatively speaking)...but not that well! :D I can understand a bit of a struggle first, after all, those contracts aren't meant to be easy to get out of or they wouldn't be signed that way lol. Especially with the council and Baba Yaga situation... and she might be trying to solve the council's interference in other ways so that no one can help Little-Miss-Awesome-at-Necromancy (and impromptu teen parties ;) ) out of her contract lol... ;) After all, they didn't get to be heads of the council by being push overs, any of them lol. :D But I'm sure they have enemies and I'm sure those enemies would sure love to know when they are without magic...and they'll naturally want to make sure no one knows that! :D I have to wonder if Baba Yaga and Haeju knew not to attend the ritual because they foresaw it and knew to run too late for this one lol ;) I can just imagine the shell game or figurative hand slapping between the two! I'm glad you are also excited for the baby, I know they aren't main characters but...Missy's one of my favorites, she's such a riot. ;) I love how she plays with Athan and I think her having a couple of kids to look after will be even funnier. :D (*Imagines Missy singing a lullaby version of the Ghostbuster's song to her children* "nah nah nah nahnt...I ain't afraid of no ghost...") I also expect that with Taiga and Rowan as aunt and uncle... Missy's children are going to have some bizarre aunt and uncle visits sometimes too lol. Hopefully they never get an Uncle Frost visit lol. :D And who knows what they'll get from their fairy aunt lol. :D (As opposed to fairy godmother lol) ;) But I'm rambling! :D Back to the comments! Well, those are great questions, and I'm totally looking forward to you answering them for us! :D

Thanks :D Yes, in this AU version, Chester and Rafael will likely end up sort of friends...because Chester is smart enough to figure things out that Rafael wouldn't share, and not try to use them against him. Chester is not going to see Rafael's toddler daughter as a pain button he can press...like a less principled special agent might. Of course, that less principled special agent would be quite dead between Zelda protecting her children and Whizbang, the little black dragon Hatchling being raised by Rafael in his house, with his children. Whizbang is smarter than most humans, and he has dragon magic. He's really nice and friendly for a dragon...but dragons are famously protective of their treasure, and Whizbang treasures these tiny humans that are weaker than eggshells (from a dragon's perspective) that he's watched learn how to walk and talk and climb all over him. :D Zelda would probably love a dragon ride, she's kind of a daredevil...but she's a young family oriented mother with a baby (Dmitri) that's so sickly that the adults around him have to have a death flower on hand to run in and offer the grim reaper if he comes for their baby...so, she's really not easy to get to leave the house. The criminals are terrified of the dragons, some of them may have been laughing about what happened to their rivals...but they know in the back of their mind that the dragons could slaughter them as easily. The criminals don't even want to -see- the dragons...though some of them have to, and are clearly fighting off their terror the entire time, much less once the dragons start growling and they feel it through their bodies like thunder. Even Rafael is disturbed by how easy it is for the dragons to wipe an organization full of humans out. That's why he's so worried about someone attacking him and insulting the dragons...because he saw how easy it was...and remembered that the last time a Dragon Master was killed...four dragons destroyed the ancient world. Rafael's only so calm around them because of familiarity and affection...he had misinformation from the ancient writings that certain phrases compelled the dragons to service...he thought he was dealing with a sort of binding...and making business deals, doing favors and getting favors in return, and then, in one sudden moment of insight, the poor genius realized that they weren't bound at all- he did not actually have any control- they thought he was a human who would do anything for a hug! ;) By then he was already so involved with them there was no way out. :D That was last year. He's come to accept it...but this arrangement with Chester Swain makes him feel better...he has a few people in the world he trusts: Zelda, Deedee, Bailey, Dante and now Chester...and he will go out of his way for these people. (This is not counting his dragons or any of the small children, you really can't trust someone under the age of two yet).

Actually, while he has been living in Simerica for quite a while now...what's going on there is that Chester's shocked that his daughter, Bailey, who treats her cell phone like it's made of gold is somewhere where she can't even charge it (or use it)...they went camping plenty, it's not like she doesn't know how to survive without it, but her coming there on purpose (was she kidnapped?) is shocking to him...but he's not factoring in that the reason that she cared like the cell phone was made of gold is in the cottage locking lips with her right now. :D

Sorry, I really don't know how I'd get people to imagine a full sized dragon with anything I can do with the game...but Chester's expression would be something like how he reacted to Dante getting in his face with his fangs...

    Chester reacted after this:

    33xcvb8.jpg

Like This (and with an adrenaline rush moodlet):

    b6uepv.jpg

I would definitely not call that intimidated lol. :D Of course, I usually try to keep the updates to less than 10 pics...I shoot for about seven average. And this seemed a little too goofy a reaction for the story reasons he was there anyway, so this second one didn't make the cut. :D But you can bet he'd be that way about riding on a dragon that makes him feel like a flea on a cat's back. ;)

A witch could actually make a house out of smelly socks or dead fish or pizza or pancakes in my universe! lol. :D So, cheese is better...but Rafael still thinks it's disgusting to make houses out of food. ;) Fortunately, Zelda is not so inclined. She likes to cook food, not live in it ;) Later, when I've got a bit more practice in building, I might have to introduce a little bit of this 'I can make my house out of anything' madness in through an as yet not introduced witch... but right now, it's just that Rafael is aware it happens and is sharing that bit with Chester, whom Rafael is relating to in the 'he's at the point where his world has been shaken and someone needs to tell him how things work again' sort of way. If Rafael didn't like him, he would just laugh that he didn't know and not tell him. It is lonely at the top, and worse yet, it's lonely being a genius at the top...so few people can even understand what he's willing to tell them...much less figure out more than he's willing to tell them. The other thing is that usually people are really eager to believe he's a madman bent on destroying the world. The person he's had the most difficult job foooling on this matter is Dante because Dante knew him before he was the Dragon Master, and even as Dante's underling...but even with Dante, Rafael builds a shark tank in his base and threatens no one with it...and never puts anyone in it (and even tells Dante he's built it for one very specific special agent who's going in there once they finally catch him)...and everyone still assumes he'll start dunking them like he's dying easter eggs in there. ;) So, having someone who knows his reputation and even suspects it might be a bit wrong is a rather novel experience for him at this point.

He did give away his lie detector secret...but he could have told Chester that at any time- it is in his best interest that Chester is able to fool the vampire since Chester is aware that he's the Dragon Master and has been manipulating Bailey into helping him without knowing that...but Rafael saved revealing that secret until they were about to knock for a very good reason. ;) But Rafael has been treating Chester like an equal, even if he's been using distant forms of formality still...his behavior (too good a deal, dragon ride, casually talking about what witches do like an expert, admitting he's a tricky guy and knows exactly how it's going down) is giving him away a little...Chester has been trying to figure him out. But the bit Rafael's revealed about his concerns with the dragons and his daughter...that was very valuable in convincing Chester that the thing that has Rafael talking to him like this is that they are both fathers with daughters and there is some empathy there. (And since Rafael's a young father with a young daughter, he might have softened by having children, but is still in a position that if the criminals find that out they'll turn on him and he knows it). Then, once Rafael lays it out that he knows that Chester could end up being hauled off and tortured in a military base because he's a spy...and that's the fate Rafael's trying to get Chester to save him from to save the world...and it seems to all make sense in a tit for tat sort of way. :D

In my newly created Sims 3 folder I made a new conversion of Suvadiva Resort world. I created some sims to test out the world. I ended up spending more time in CAS than in game. Here is a link to a thread in the Sims 3 Sims and Modeling section that show the sims, although the male sim wearing the scarf was created in a different world.

@Jillbg: I can just imagine the radar operator on the night of the Halloween Blood moon... Operator: "Um, sir? There's a woman riding a broom..." And then they all laugh and the operator figures it's a practical joke for Halloween. :D Yeah, I don't think he's going to be too happy to see a witch after being hunted down by the council! Ah, Museums, springing up everywhere like mushrooms. ;) I wonder if any vampires tipped them off to the historical locations... or if, when the vampire's away the archaeologists will play. ;) Lol, I wonder what Magnus thinks of these mock-vikings lol. :D I wonder if he has the urge to correct them or just laughs every time he sees them or if its just insulting. ;) I bet after that cold, the tuna pie was delicious because it was hot lol. :D On the plus side, the aside check made her stop and eat and get warm in between there and there so she didn't just go chasing off in the cold and not have the energy to continue once she got there. :D I'm glad the tombstone reminded her where to go! :D I'm glad we're getting more Magnus background. :D Lol @ "is boring. Please tell us something romantic." And that's how she got a personal story out of him! :D Lol @ "I feel like fifteen." Lol- I love how Granny tried to save it-"And they lived happily ever after." with a story like that you know they didn't! :D Wow, and that's why he's Darkling, child of the dark lol. :D Not because his maker was a vampire but because his father was an orphan and they called him the child of the dark lol. :D And that "son" was attached so deeply to his adopted father that he's sworn to stamp out the bloodline of the Grey witches... to avenge the guy who killed his actual parents and raised him...and turned him into a vampire...but then again, if he was raised as a guy like that's son...with the sense of revenge that would require him to hunt down those parents... It does make sense. ;) Well, she might have forgotten because it was painful to think of herself in his arms like that...or because she heard it once when she didn't know it's significance. Later, she might have connected the dots between information...if she hadn't been too upset to even think about him. ;) Yeah, there are probably few people on the planet she wants to face less than him! ;) Well, of course, it's going to be hidden, it's not like there is going to be a vampire memorabilia museum on top of it lol. (Though that would be hilarious, I don't see it as something the council would do. ;) ) Yeah, you've come so far, no reason to turn back when you've found the dark hole you have to walk down into and face the vampire in whatever condition he's in lol. ;)

And they need stuff to keep archaeologists from assuming it's a great find, so a semi fresh box of matches and lamp is a good idea lol. :D (*In the voice of a nature documentary: "The wild team of archaeologists finds the scent...closes in on the ancient farmhouse ruins...they rope off areas and pour over terrain maps, and at long last they dig...excitement fills the air...and then disaster strikes!...They find a box of matches! And a lamp! When they see the steel chain across the door, they just roll their eyes and set back out into the cold to hunt for a new ancient dig site muttering about paperwork and bureaucracy mix ups all the way...clearly the padlock shows that they have arrived too late...this ancient dig site is already claimed!"* ;) ) (Sorry, couldn't resist). :D

Besides warding off free ranging archaeologists, it's always a good idea to be able to check that no one rescued their prisoners and that the vampire did in fact dry up to a husk...and isn't say, hanging out in a large city and gathering his strength for revenge. ;) And a mixture between magical and non magical means means that people like Missy can be easily stopped by the patience it requires to land upon the four digit code required to open the lock. :D And she worked her way up in her determination to the number 6434, one number at a time. :D A very miserable quest so far, between the cold, the search and the small irritations of the padlock...and then the stuck door! :D Well, it's best to be careful about traps, I'm sure they wanted to make sure Magnus didn't have any really loyal vampires who would come and try to rescue him... :D Well, maybe it was padlocked to encourage people to think there was only a coffin in this room and to keep looking for treasure lol. ;) Or maybe that room has something else in it that they want locked up. :D (Perhaps embarrassing pictures from their romantic trips to "Kiss a Giant Neon Teddie Bear convention" or maybe their prized cursed lamp collection...the trapped spirits of the burglars that have stolen their plumbing, maybe...or who knows, maybe they've got some sort of potion stash. Ah, the possibilities! ;) )

Oh poor Granny... to find him like that...and have the heart stabbing guilt/sympathy of finding him in such terrible shape...and the relief that he's not trying to lounge for you at the same time...hopefully the blood still works...and yet it's going to feel like she's doing the same kind of cold 'well, since you're dead, you don't need this' that the council was doing with Taiga... Poor Granny... Oh, wow, yeah, being eaten by zombie Magnus would be even worse! Ah, he's got emergency blood...he's in such terrible shape, maybe he won't kill her! He does look rather enthroned on those stones lol. :D Probably a terrible blow to his self esteem having to beg her for help like that, but perhaps he can assure himself that he was manipulating her emotional attachment to get what he wants... but it's a good sign that he didn't kill her to drink her, he took some effort to get someone else. Oh, I'm glad to hear he was actually passed out! "A tad traumatizing..."- I'd think so, at any age! ;) He probably was happy to see her, even if he's irritated at being caught like that. :D Lol @ "On a spa get away?" (The Council's Vampire Spa package:...come, rest in comfort at our exclusive hidden get away...settle back into the velvet, and let your cares (and eventually your insides!) melt away...don't you want a break from the constant thirst? Wouldn't you like to...relax? Sign up today!")

So, a vulnerable vampire and a wandless witch hatch a plan... ;) Should be fun. :D Well, at least he drank someone besides Granny... :D Lol @ "eat animals?" lol, he doesn't want to harm animals...harming people, so much better lol :D Nice @ "Why does she need my blood?" Yeah, that's usually not a good sign, huh? ;) Though with her being a witch vampire hybrid who knows what strange things she might need lol. It rather seems as if she's truly pioneering new territory just being what she is. ;) Still, I have to wonder if Tara asking him that question is the reason she's still alive and he bothered to find someone else instead. ;) He sure is enjoying scaring her with the whole vampire thing. ;) Even cutting the rope with his fangs like that. :D Unless he's really so casual that those are his pocketknife/box knife for everyday things...if his response to getting an amazon or ups package would really be be to cut them open with his fangs, then I apologize for the misunderstanding lol. ;) Somehow I doubt that, though. :D

Lol @ Magnus going all "no daughter of mine". Considering how much Jerry Springer he brought to her bloodline or the fact that he's sworn to wipe it out... I'm not really sure she'll trust him to give her advice on these matters. :D

Lol @ "I said I would help her." Yeah, it kinda sounds like its not going to be a good deal for Granny...it sounds like he's going to sacrifice her to the council... Well, that turned pretty terrible pretty fast, but we didn't exactly expect it to be all hugs and handshakes. ;)

The family whose bloodline you swore to wipe out? That one? It must be infuriating having been almost killed, woken, told that, and being trapped bound to the ruins of a place you've never actually lived and having to wait around. Hopefully he'll have a good think about Yggve's honor killing thing; if he goes for 'honor' over loyalty to his family, it means he'll be killing his own daughter some day...as she's part of the bloodline he's sworn to wipe out. He might be able to just wait for Granny or Missy to die of old age (or more likely let the council do the dirty work there and suffer Taiga's hatred)...but his daughter will likely not age as fast because of his blood...he'll likely have to face her eventually. Then again, if she was able to take him down...would he be proud? ;) Still, hard to know what he's thinking as a vampire, because he's been at it so long, since the middle ages...so he might feel he can wait a generation or so...or maybe he doesn't know how many children Shasta had...since usually even having two is pushing it for a witch, and the twins birth was so secret... maybe he just thinks he's got to kill off Taiga and Rowan only...though if he's had Taiga watched then it seems like they would at least know about Frost too. :D

Glad to hear he has a plan B...hopefully it doesn't interfere with plan A! ;)

No, you were picking up on that right. :D Rafael enjoys that Bailey doesn't know- but he knows that she's going to find out- you can't hide worldwide infamy. With his luck, he expects that the fact that she hasn't found out yet means that when she does find out, it's going to be in the worst way possible...so he's tempted to try to control how she finds out and just get it over with...but at the same time, he doesn't want to end this friendship, he wants every minute of innocent interaction he can get before she's afraid of him because he knows she will be and it's going to hurt- she's like a surrogate little sister to him- and his natal family died, they didn't reject him...that's why even now he used Van Gould as the bad guy. He knows that rejection's coming...and even warranted...but he's still putting it off as long as he can.

Baba Yaga put the bed there on purpose when she made the cottage knowing full well how that would go, and this is the only room large enough to house it lol. ;) Even if they knew he was coming, they couldn't have hidden (or even moved) the bed. :D (Granny: "Situation comedy, dear.") So, he's not actually trying to rub it in Chester's face...but it sure looked like it to Chester lol. :D Well, Swain isn't his real name; he had to give up using his real name when he was assigned to Simerica. Bailey doesn't even know his real name. ;) But he definitely got the message that she was taking Tristan's last name because she's feeling betrayed. She'd probably have taken it anyway, and given the situation, it is probably the safest option...but ouch. ;)

Rafael's very manipulative. He thinks using violence is sloppy, he prefers finesse. ;) He'd rather trick someone into doing something they think they want to do than force anyone to do anything...and he doesn't mind making them think something is happening that's not happening...but he prefers to just take advantage of a situation; this situation existed without him; Bailey's dad was a special agent before she was born, Van Gould is a proper vampire who believes in traditional marriage; the kind where the father picks who his kids marry for business or political alliances that he'll get from marrying them off, and Bailey and Tristan fell in love before Rafael even met Bailey, so as far as he's concerned this would have happened whether he was there or not...the only thing he's purposefully misrepresenting is his power to stop the looming disaster; He could easily kill Van Gould, but he doesn't want to. He could take one of his Potent Cure Elixirs and cure Van Gould of being a vampire and throw him at the mercy of his own underlings if he wanted to... he could threaten to do any of those and a host of other things; Rafael's got lots of options...but if he uses any of those, someone's going to ask themselves why and come up with Bailey...they might not guess correctly why he cares (because of their ages and genders and the fact that they are not at all blood relatives the going assumption is going to be romantic intentions)...but if they know they can threaten Rafael with Bailey it's going to show that the Dragon Master has a weakness, and then it will be an international game of capture the flag where Bailey is the flag, and he'll have to guard her with dragons...and then even Bailey will know...and it will scare her and he'll have to just let her think he's got romantic intentions rather than explain what's really going on...it doesn't even make that much sense to him- she isn't his family, he shouldn't care...but he does. It's a weakness he has and he's going to try to protect himself.

So, what he's going to do is go grab Van Gould's political rival- the one whose daughter was going to be forced to marry Tristan- and cure him of being a vampire and throw him to Van Gould...cite the reason that Van Gould has been useful to him and this other vampire hasn't, and then point out that he doesn't want his time wasted dealing with people's family disputes; if there is a problem, solve the actual problem; don't make him a babysitter and maybe learn how marriage works in this century while they are at it. That will make it appear as though his pride as the big bad Dragon Master was slighted by Van Gould's attempt to use him for information on his son and daughter in law rather than there being any personal reason he knew what was going on and wouldn't help. Then he's going to 'let slip' a diversionary yet true personal reason that vampires irritate him; a vampire tried to turn him to assassinate his wife so he's really not favorably disposed towards them (which will also explain to them why he keeps himself so full of silver that no one can read any thought, and keeps potent cure elixirs around to cure them if they cross him), but as evidenced by the fact that his second in command is a vampire, he can work with them if they are willing to be more useful than irritating, but if they start disrupting business and endangering his plans with their petty disputes he'll solve the problem but they may not like the solution. He's going to do this as misdirection, but since Van Gould's problem with his son's running off with Bailey largely stems from his old world proper ideas about marriage and his issues with the other vampire organization which make the political alliance desirable, the moment Rafael hands him his former rival...Van Gould will be too busy dealing with the vampire politics aftermath to pursue Bailey and Tristan...and yes, this does mean that Rafael's basically attacking Van Gould's rival for no good reason- though privately he doesn't feel particularly sorry for the vampire who in Rafael's way of thinking was going to sell his daughter to Van Gould...his enemy. If...after this intervention, Van Gould gives him a reason to crush him, he won't hesitate, after all, he was warned (and after all this bending over backwards to not attack him, if Van Gould gives him a reason he's going to relish it) and it will look like it's because he pushed the Dragon Master's buttons again, and if someone is looking for a personal reason, he'll already have supplied them with the idea that he has a grudge against vampires because he was bitten by one (and if anyone looks into it they'll find out it's true and incidentally that his wife is notoriously quick with magical fire), but he suspects this will solve the problem and that the vampires will be very eager to be useful and not cross him in the future, since they are more afraid of that fate than being destroyed.

Bailey's been successfully frightened about her father's fate; now she's more focused on the hints that he's not trying to live; that he didn't try to escape that he might rather be tortured than stay, and she's desperately trying to save him. She went straight to the holidays because she's making excuses about why they need him there so he doesn't check out early. Between Rafael's hard sell fatalism and Chester's physical and emotional exhaustion at this point (adrenaline crash), it hit her fast that she really doesn't want her father to die, she just wants to know who he really is. Bailey was completely chill and excited when she found out vampires and supernaturals exist...because she was not feeling at all vulnerable about it, she was secure, she was bored even. Learning all about supernaturals added excitement to her life and danger, but she could handle it (or thought she could) but this is the carpet of her security kicked out from under her...so her and her dad are both reeling from different revelations about how the world works right now. ;)

Tristan is actually just trying to help...he's not only been told about this, he's actually seen the memory of it, so he really does know, he's just teasing...he really wants that kind of closeness...it's one of the things that draws him to Bailey, she's warm and comfortable and more into pipecleaner reindeer than gold foil gifts. ;)

Well, like Rafael told Chester, Bailey wants to save him and he's going to be spending the holidays with them... But just a reminder: the Xmas specials are Alternate Universe versions of events...in the main story, Chester's life will be different...as certain people died in the plot against Rafael/Zelda in the AU universe that did not die in the main story. ;) He'll probably meet Rafael way before he's running the criminals in town, for example. :D But I like this face/hair combo on him, I might have to steal it for the main story lol. :D

@cwaddell The picture @venusdemilosims used is from a site she recommended me - PhotoFunia. They have lots of cool photo editing suggestions! :)

I usually cut away everything around when I use it:
