Hi,
I haven't built anything for a while but was overcome with the urge to create a new venue for my Sims so ... may I introduce to you
The Little Theatre Picture House
A simple old meeting hall has been converted into a stylish arts cinema with a reputation for the best in independent and international films:
The lobby is a spacious and comfortable area to meet friends and enjoy a pre-film drink or snack at the Rita Simworth bar.
If you're in a rush, or prefer to take your refreshment with you into the movie, make a selection from our well-stocked vending machines.
Buying your tickets is made easy using our automated box office machines.
When you're ready, make your way through the turnstile down to our state-of-the art screens.
If you're waiting for that friend who is always late there's a small extra seating area where you can wait in comfort.
We have three, colour coded, screens so make sure you purchase the correct colour ticket!
The largest, red, screen shows the big film festival favourites.
The green screen is where you'll find the latest independent films and if there's a classic that needs to be seen again we'll find a place for it in the blue screen.
In addition to luxurious standard seating each screen has a back row of double seats ideal for couples who like to enjoy a film in comfort together.
We do, of course, have elegantly appointed facilities should nature call.
Now, for the architects among you, a few basic facts about the Little Theatre:
- Lot size: 20 x 15
- Lot type: Hangout
- The top floor is unfurnished; ready for you to develop as a performance venue, art school, or club, or whatever takes your fancy!
- The turnstiles are set to allow only teens and older and exclude pets and zombies; the doors to each screen are also set to only allow the correct colour ticket holders (these can, of course, be changed to whatever is preferred)
- EP and Premium Content:
- Late Night Bar
- Barrier To Entry System
- Large as Life Movie Screen
See the Exchange page for all items included and to download the lot:

Thank you, hope you enjoy using it. No, there are no stairs to the upper floor. I particularly wanted to create a 'basement cinema' and though I thought it would look odd as a single storey I didn't want to have to worry about adding too much else beyond the cinema features. I think it should be possible to rearrange the fence and turnstiles to add in stairs to the top floor, or perhaps add an external staircase to make an entrance separate from the cinema business.
Thank you Rose for your most generous review. I drew inspiration from various cinemas I visit and those black sofas in the lobby aren't comfortable for very long ... you just have to get up to get popcorn or a drink!

Nice accommodations, good work on the bathrooms and it looks wonderful.
I visited the Sims 3 site and recommended it as well.
.
I've tried to make it faithful to reality, though it is a pity the patrons buying food have to clean their own plates in the toilets! Hmmm ... is there a mod somewhere that would get the mixologist to clear tables as well, or hire a cleaner ...

In case anyone is interested, I actually used it in the latest chapter of my story but with the addition of an 'art space' (y'know, easels, drawing tables, sculpting wheel) on the first floor with coffee bar and also a theatre rabbithole door.
I've put this version on Google Drive so if you like the sound of this updated version and don't mind a bit of CC I have put the download links in the blog: http://sladedynasty.blogspot.com/2015/02/dealing-with-debra.html

You are right, light is very important to artists so I made sure there was plenty of good natural light coming in and I know artistic types love coffee shops so I just had to put in a little café for them to sit in and soak up the creative energy

Which is exactly what I did, I needed something for my story and it has worked quite well, especially after I added the theatre rabbithole which brings quite a few Sims into the lot
