I always think I am the slowest in the world, Chari. I'll let a build set for days and then return to do a bit of recoloring and let it sit a few more days and do some more. I often move the sims in and start upgrading and playtesting before I finish recoloring and retexturing. I am a perfectionist about color and texture. I am happy with where I am right now. I have gone through all the rooms and done most of the recoloring now. There is still some small stuff, some landscaping, and some major depreciation that needs to happen. I think I went out on a limb with this one, but of course, I am really liking it and having fun and that is what it's all about, right?
Good luck to everyone.
LOL because I am always redoing stuff and changing stuff and never satisfied with what I have built. I have several builds in different worlds I have yet to complete. Between having time (like right now I need to be ironing a shirt for hubby ) and having to relook up how to do stuff and so on. It just takes me forever to finish. But I love the contests...even if I don't get a chance to enter cause I am too slow. It gives me ideas and helps me stretch and challenge myself. Now since I probably won't be entering I can look at the ideas that others have used and incorporate them into my build. Hope that didn't sound bad :P
I hope that you are able to work with the sellers and get the house that you would like to live in @Caricharn. I hope you continue to enjoy and have fun working on your build.
I am glad that your build is going well@ciane Having fun, enjoying building and learning new things whilst building are the most important and great things about building, so that is great!
I totally squirrelled my hubby's work shirt today. I had it in the washer and grandma called and asked me to pick her up from the senior center. So I did and we went out to eat. By the time I got home, I forgot that I was doing a load of laundry. He woke up and got dressed for work and asked me where his patrol shirt was. Did I wash it? Yes, I said, but, oops I didn't dry it. Luckily we have a low water efficiency washer where clothes come out damp rather than wet. So I just put it on a hanger for him to take with him. It'll be dry by the time he needs it.
And oh, yeah, gaining ideas from other's builds is the awesome part of contests. I never look at the other entries until mine is built and has everything in place. I rarely finish the CASting until just before uploading though, cause, like you, I too am always tweaking colors and patterns and textures. It's usually when I am taking pictures to go with my upload that I think, oh, that corner needs something and back in game I go.
I am glad that everything turned out okay in the end with your washing Ciane, and that your husband's shirt will be dry and good for him to wear by the time he gets to work. It was kind of you to pick up your grandma from the seniors centre and drive her home.
I hope you have a nice rest of the day.
And then I put another load in the washer late last night and the dogs wanted to go to bed early since Hubby was already gone to work the afternoon/evening shift and his security route after that, I needn't wait up to see him off or see him home. So, I went to bed with a book and again forgot about my laundry, which was just the sheets I cover the chairs with.
Oh well, I have made great progress on CASting and am much happier with colors and things. There are some rooms that still need accents, but today I shall play the sims and set them to upgrading and testing out things while skilling. I am so glad this isn't due tomorrow for it will take me days of playing to get that house depreciated.
Entry Description: Here is my first entry. Its the commercial lot. The fashion boutique is on the first floor and inculdes the stylists spots. I choose Cellow and grey as my color scheme for thin part. The Bot Area is hold is dark and rusty colors, because i wanted it not to look so futuristic shiny but a bit dirty and rusty. Hope you like it
@nyxi, The purple plants look really nice and I love the way you did the elevated landscaping with the edges. I also love the blue and white combination you chose and the ins and outs to your building. Great way to display the display pieces in the windows like that. Nice job!
The Fashion Robot build is very nice @nyxi! Very nice design of the exterior, and great layout of the interior of it! It looks very nice the types of and how you have placed the windows in the build. The front steps entrance to the building looks great! It looks very nice how you have placed the skylights in the front lawn area of the build! Sims will enjoy sitting out in the sunshine at the outdoors picnic table. The trees and lavender plants look very nice how you have placed them along the front edges of the steps, and the tree plants look very nice how you have placed them in the glassed windows as displays.Very nice furnishing and layout of the sections of the interior of the store! . It looks great how you have set up the models and placed the clothes racks in the middle part of that area. It looks nice how you have used shades of yellow for the styling station area. The red and brown shades you have used for the bot workshop, recharging and bot shop area looks very nice and suits the theme of the section.
It is a very nicely designed and well laid and furnished plsce for sims to enjoy visiting!
Got a little farther along on the commercial build. I still think it's one of the most boring builds I've done, but eh. Few more details, like the entire upper left floor, and landscaping... much boring.
@romagi1, as I was dressing the mannequins today, I wondered if it was your test sim or the Jenny who dressed them and if she owned the lot when you dressed them. Maybe if you placed the lot back down after planning all the outfits, the game didn't recognize them as her designs. Just a thought.
@TRajah, I feel for you. I was very happy that minimalism is the focus of the future. I might have taken it to a whole new level.
I am starting to think that I just might get done in time. They were finally able to purchase the commercial lot and I am getting conflicting reports on the cost. To upgrade it, reflects the cost in buy mode; but to sell it shows a much more inflated cost. I am thinking one could make a nice profit buying and selling lots!
I am not sure what the final price for the residence will be. As always, I am tweaking. And since my tester sim is a lvl10 designer, the costs will be off until I have a chance to bin it and then plop it down again.
I hope you all have a great weekend and get some simming time.
Also, is there a way to tweak the plumbots on display. I have really hot pink and a dark lime green and ... Wow! They do stand out.
Thanks, TRajah. I guess I'll just leave them as they are then. I hope your landscaping and second floor are going well for you. I was called away to help out hubby for awhile. So, I'm headed back in game again.
I hope that your work on your builds continue to go well and that you are able to get them finished by the due time @ciane Have fun simming and working on your builds.

@ciane, that could be possible. They owned the store and she bought the displays but then I sold it cause I wasn't going to try it and then...I bought the store again cause Lucas got the Plumbot one. But, I didn't sell the stands and have her buy new ones. Oh well, it's too late now, and it won't show in anyone else's game anyway.
@TRajah, my commercial lot was the first one I finished too. It's under 100k, so that leaves me an extra 50k for the house. I have almost finished upgrading everything there and hopefully will finish with upgrades today.

I too am glad it worked on hubby's work shirt. YIKES Only have minute before I need to get going.
I was just going to post a pix of another sim. I am not sure what I think of the colors.
